i think everyone had a grand time at dogfesting---- we had a few total. strangers who had just learned about dogfest 2 weeks ago and decided to risk a weekend just for fun... and we had a few that were here for the first few years.. between the great lynn planning and the opportunistic goldie input... it was different...and always is.
the pig got painted-- beautifully i might ad.... first pink coat on saturday and details of saddle and trimmings on sunday....food got cooked and served i managed to gain 3 pounds in 2 days... pockets was harnessed to pull her weight and dragged a bunch of people who then decided not to even try behind rosie -- so matt sat on his heels-- and was dragged a good 50 feet riding on his spurs!--- early on sunday lynn gave me a poo picker to put in my pocket with my name on it.... i wondered if i was getting all that bad so i needed to be reminded .... but it turned out ot was part of a scavenger hunt and a group of 5 or so festers came by looking for it, mosty i drove around in my golf cart while towing the garden tractor type trailer filled with cushions, 3 danes, and a few festers having a 6 year old type fun time..... and the hay made it to the loft !
yesterday i said we still have a lot to learn from the British.....and so far today... i am wondering if we did the right thing....apparently they had wristbands ... and the last ones in line were in the 250,000 range and i did not see even one ... shall i say "untidy?" looking person. all just regular folk... in a queue ! we could not even attempt that..... somebody would have to bring the beer...and the atmosphere would change....
wellllllllll.. we might have had a sizeable bunch of well behaved people standing around waiting for the rocket to blast off..... but that is a select group .. (and no beer.)
