as of yesterday. judy and i have seen  and "doggied" 82 people this week- yesterday we went to the special needs kids where 30 kids and ? a parent? sat in a circle-- lots of screaming and yelling--- but. judy did get them softened down to  just plain loud while she walked right hext to them with larkey-- who didn't seem to care a all.. good dog !  pasta was pretty steady too.... sizzle preferred to wander with the staff and jiminey stayed with me...  he is our fastest "get the cookie out of th e fry pan"  and run back to me...  most of the kids were terrified of the dogs but before we weredone they were all giggling..not only cookies but---- pat the tail ---broke thru to some,  I have decided—for the moment— to bring them into the auditorium unleashes in a very controlled walk

because although the letting them in running it is very spectacular it mentally sets the dogs up for a little more action and then I wanted so yesterday worked perfectly I made leashes and we did very well. Judy is spectacular add crowd conversations.    I think we're booked to go to that place fairly regularly I'm looking forward to getting our horse and donkeys in the same place. they need some work.

so if you have some kids that need a summer job or I should say summer project we have a bunch of donkeys here that are gonna have to learn to walk and trot nicely on a leash before next October. this is obviously something I can't even attempt but  any of these people would are looking for exercise it certainly would be an interesting project pick a donkey and see if you can get them ready for this pack burro race which is scheduled for October and all it would entail is getting them out on a leash but the few pieces of carrots a little bit of grain the tin can or something and get them to move forward let's say learned to do it they're fine but we have a bunch right now that are basically slightly wild and prefer to just stand around and he cookies and carrots and do nothing..  they just need to be convinced that walking and trotting ahead is fun and they will they will do it you can Google pack burro racing -- and watch some of the antics in Colorado up and down the hills we're going to try for it in topsfield in September October.

 

there could be an advanced group who could try and put the donkeys on the trailers.  eventually I should be able to find at least one donkey that could do stairs and we could take into these senior residence places I I once had Mary who was a big donkey I had her in brooksby village which is a very Swank seeing your place they loved it and no problems of what duct tape on her feet and she was loose in there pretty much Mary Mary was something else again but donkeys can be like that.. when I mentioned that somebody else said don't forget the chickens because I am convinced that the chickens are smarter than we give them credit for and if anybody wanted to try and teach one to play the star spangled banner on a piano I'd be happy to buy a one of those little toy pianos and let you have a go at it I don't think it would be too difficult because I think the way you do it is the chicken pecks at the laser beam but any rate that that's a whole nother experiment with animals that I would be happy  to fund.

 

Speaking of children as in Boy Scouts Girl Scouts with energy we have a perfect project in collecting all the white fencing that we have in several places around the property and stack it neatly in the parking pit. 

it is scattered all over the place it should be collected and stacked neatly..  a perfect outdoor job which somebody could call community service.

  the other jem of the day---" knee high by the fourth of july "does not seem to be holding true for the corn crop up the street---marinos are famous around here for corn....i dunno, but it looks ankle high right now....maybe he has some other fields back off the road that are knee high.. but these aren't.
  

  
  

  i stopped in to see if i could get mr marino to accept the gift of some horse manure... i explained it was nice horse manure now with carlie mike and katy doing stalls. there is a higher percentage of shlt ---- the pile is a darker brown--- he said he would love it in the fall, but he already dressed and planted... ? he uses it fresh???

  
  

  see mark got all the kennels out of  9 and 10---  that used to be my office/workshop. Way back—and it was perfect—I was right there to see what was going on.—one door goes to the alleyway- the other goes to kennel 8. Which was my geriactric/ learning kennel because the ramp is much longer and at a better angle for beginners or elderly...we elderly do sometimes need special accomodations....

  I have the bells out—judy dunked ( in murphy’s oil soap) and dripping dry in the kitchen...i am going to try them today and see what reaction I get..  these 2 groups today have quite a range of both physical and mental  capabilities... it will be interesting--- I must be aware of the sharp sound of the bells might be a bad thing for some... so I will go slowly...

  W r t the meridith. Hay---  they contribute 500 bales but those are basically for the sheep and llamas they already owned before ERN arrived with the horses donkeys and m. mules... 500 is a big number,,, but it is only about 1.5  bales a day for the year.. and as I remind you – animals are a 365 day project.

   

  My  camping trailer---- was never intended to be anything besides my trailer—I want to be sure I have somewhere to invite people to come to...the concept of me in there with 4 dogs—up a ramp---- is comical at best. I don’t know where I want to put it—but it is not in  the way of any traffic... being in the middle... loads of room to turn trucks etc....

 We----me--- CAF--- mostly--- are now an official 501 c 3 charity– with the clear mission .

 

Crazy Acres Farm (CAF) is to provide animals for education and entertainment to seniors veterans schools daycare centers and the like.. This is usually but not limited to dogs and donkeys. The farm itself may also be a destination for visits by seniors and other groups. Our current budget is under $25,000--- it does provide for two-part time people , two weekly tanks of gas plus some animal foods. If we become dissolved our assets will be distributed to another local 501C3 for public purpose. Our governing board consists of 3 people- one must always be a family member of the owner of the farm.

 

 For your further amusement...... and you better pay attention here.....

#1....CAF is now a 501 c 3 with appropriate bank account (a checking one)purpose visiting seniors—100 a week—and it will contain any fun fund money currently $171 which I will try and update with a note on the welcome screen of the hay bales.... carlene and judy signers

#2 ...ERN—another 501. C 3 has an account to which donations may be deposited for rescues and their care---- mostly hooved rescues .. Janine signs

#3.....I personally have a checking account in the same bank --- I am not a 501 c 3 charity !!    Janine and I sign.

#4,,,  any SDP money goes directly to SDP and they handle it .. 

It is the flow of money that gets interesting... and I don’t see how to do it differently

 

Hay donations go to the ERN account—when I go buy hay. I use my personal account and send a bill to Janine who then transfers the balance from ERN to my personal .

Money to promote our visiting shut ins--- will go in the CAF account. As will any fun fund- at least for the moment---- I could not maintain a separate ff account—tho the balance should be distinct. And is $171 currently

 Checks made out to me will be assumed to be for the visiting project and deposited to CAF—although I do like the vote of confidence, I should not need any public support personally.. I would like to grow the visiting project—there is a huge need and it does not take much... our 4 dogs are a big hit, but you know--- if you have nothing better to do – even walking thru these places playing a harmonica would give such a boost..  I know a couple places where someone with a portable piano encourages singing on a routine basis... these activities directors are desperate..... every once in a while you will run into someone who thinks a harmonica might upset the routine--- that person should be relocated to managing a warehouse.

now that I think about it --- I have a set of dusty harness bells--- just walking thru one of these places jangling those bells would be a cheerful distraction.

Maybe I will try that today – we are scheduled at NEC – basically 2 groups of day care challenged people. About 60--- with yesterdays 30 that completes our week.??? Almost???

 my extra thanks to the 532 people who bought a bale--that makes my life soooo much easier because when you are responsible for a horse or donkey,, you must provide the necessary vegitation for thier survival--- they can not live without it.... hay is not the salad course before the steak dinner-- it IS THE DINNER.  it is hard for me to understand how a few blades of grass can keep  a 1000 pound horse  alive and blossoming.. i watch alot of zoo shows and it is even more unbelieavable to watch someone feed a handfull of hay to a waiting elephant.

Googling tells me that the elephants eat about. 350 pounds of vegetation a day which apparently is anything from grass to small trees,, so 350 pounds of our hay would be about 10 bales for one elephant... I think I'm lucky I lost the bid...?what bid?     at one point in my life I did bid on an elephant that was being auctioned off there's a long time ago from benson's animal farm.. and I did want to place a bid so I could always say that I had once bid on an elephant and it certainly is true... I'm also certainly glad I didn't win it because I'll tell you another funny story about elephants that I know.. when I was in the business of providing animals for commercials movies and things like that it became familiar with a guy named Bob who owned several elephants down there in Connecticut oh and he also provided the elephants for the rides at the topsfield fair I think comford may be his name any rate yeah the elephants lived in a big arena sort of place and were basically tied by a an ankle chain um to one area of the arena but one night somehow someone did not hook up one of the elephants properly and it was loose.. as he explains they elephants had seen people running water into various water tubs across the arena and they like water so the elephant went over there to investigate and finally did take a hold of the pipe that produced the water and justice gave a little bit of a pull which broke the pipe and started the water gushing and the elephant thought that was great fun so he followed the pipe backwards and kept pulling it off and getting more water and pulling it off and getting more water and nobody noticed this until morning when part of the arena had collapsed and the elephant was having a lovely time play with the water I think Bob said there was $150,000 worth of damage done by one loose elephant... which makes me doubly glad I didn't win the bid on the elephant I'm happy to say that all animals elephants tigers whatever I live in living a much better life now than they did when I was a lot younger.   some of the zoo shows do a fantastic job of keeping animals in Social groups... i am   also fascinated to watch them train a giraffe to put thie foot on a stool... So that someone can trim their feet.... or line up their tummy is next to the wall so that they can do an ultrasound see if they're pregnant---   it's kind of interesting to me at least.

 

loose animals are a fact of life. I can't get all upset if dogs get loose once in a while it's going to happen and all you can do is address the problem of\  how they got loose and try and minimize the damage they do when they are loose----- I'm happy to say at least when we went to bed last night--- little Wanda is fine with what was called blunt trauma with apparently no i internal bleeding so basically on we go... get over it..  People are going to make mistakes.... gates are not going to be shut every once in a while--- those double ended snaps will either miss or get broken It's going to happen..

  I once got into  a conversation by saying people make stupid mistakes... and then whoever I was talking to came back at me by saying “tell me a mistake that's not stupid.”. which turned into a very interesting conversation over an awful lot of beer. –  I do put into that category. people who need to be rescued from Mount Everest by other people who are then risking their lives to rescue some people who of their own free will got themselves in the mess..  and I'm not too sure how I feel about the five people who got in the submarine to go look at the Titanic. I'm very glad no one else lost their lives trying to save them..   somewhere in here the Darwinian theory comes into play.

so as i try and stay on the right side of the darwinian theroy of survival ... i again thank the 532 hay buyers.. 

 conclusion-ing. was a word i often used in child rearing. .. ( i think . it's .. my word)---there is a problem with conclusioning.. for example if.  you want to put your coffee cup on a table.   --- you hold the handle... And reach forward and when the cup is over the table you release the handle it sets the cop on the table ----doesn't sound too complicated yet .. however if you start to reach for the table and  anticipate the fact that your cup should be on the table and you release the handle too quickly the cup then falls to the ground... still not too scientific..  the problem is concentrating on a successful conclusion often obliterates some of the details that make the conclusion successful...

 

Now I must not criticize anything anyone is doing at service dog project... and believe me that's not my intention but I do think that these beautiful puppies that you  now have need to have someone observe them in great detail and relate that to the daily doggies I have been writing for the last week or so on the topic of expanding the energies of teenage boys by building stone walls. I was really hoping that the concept would wash over.  into the rearing of young teenage puppies which is what you now have..... full of energy and ready to be mentally challenged along with physically challenged---often done by running up and down puppy hill ----just a suggestion that is-- but also running through the tube---- sitting in the car--- getting in the doghouse.  an attendant to run up and down the hill with them--- personal attention—teaching  in-out doors   -etc

 

in my evening sit down with Bud --  he noticed ----as I have noticed----. that these puppies this week sound different...  they are not playing the usual little puppy bitey face that puppys do when they're young.. these are beginning to be serious dogs and they sound different.

 

I think the problem is. Conclusioning—concentration on what they will be  and missing out on what they now are.   Zooming around with open mouth does not translate  well to 160 pound year old dogs—it is a lot of work--  short cuts do not always produce desired results.

 

I see a lot of conclusioning in the horse world.----- When parents buy a beautifully western  trained ( and exercised)  horse for their child--- put it in a stall in new England and feed it wonderfully rich foods giving it more energy---while having no wide open spaces to expend that energy....--  this is why Wallace has such a full time job---- it can get to the point of Wallace is the only one who can  ride these well fed creatures...

I have another horse world comment. “nothing wrong with that horse that could not be cured by 20 miles at a fast trot”

 

Which reminds me of my old friend DVM connie thibeault  who often said  “there is not much wrong with a dogs gut that is not cured by buttermilk and string beans”

MANY UPSETTING EMAILS THIS MORNIng--- someone who said he has been trying to come visit and was told by "someone" " there is no room". plus he says he loves to cook for a large group-- first of all-- i don't think i  have ever refused to be hostess for anyone for our 3 day special--- plus someone who loves to cook????? never !!! our entire  organizastion at crazy acres was  sturdy enough to with stand anyone for 3 days.  you know the expression   fish and house guests.....:)

CP's have always been entertaining -- and so often given us new ideas--- having said that... i guess that means i better have a total kitchen available in my new living quarters--  because at the moment  the only oven is in the guest house... we may need to move that !! here's my answer to the guy...

we--- the soaking wet group of fence menders enjoyed the first meal in the camper. --  this wacko camper is a thing of beauty--- it is sooooooo well restored--- the cubbards even had a roll of paper towels for our Chinese  food meal.  the thought  of having no place to welcome guests was wearing heavily on me... not only my children .. but i do like the other odd bunch to wander thru...

I am supposed to be relatively intelligent by 10:00 o'clock this morning to go to that breakfast and get an award----  that's gotta be an uphill struggle--I think one of the things that has made Judy and I---- along with larkey--so popular is the fact that this is not a package deal where everything goes perfectly..  this frying pan and the cookie deal have so far been very safe...  it puts the dog's head in the lap of the person and the dog's concentration on the cookie...  it keeps his four feet on the floor and it's not thinking of pawing at the person to get their attention---that's one of my biggest fears because old people's skin tears very easily and doggy toenails could do an awful job.

so far--- and I say that with great fear and trepidation-- I think the joy that it gives these people outweighs the liability..  but fact remains anytime you handle animals and people.. there is always someone who's trying to figure out how to sue you..  you don't know who your friends are. Until someone feels they have the upper hand and could get a free ride..  sometimes I would love to say to somebody....” what would your mother think of you doing that” I've also noticed that many people who have grown up in Catholic grade schools always take some kind of pride in the fact that they endured having their hands slapped with a ruler by some nun..  I have never heard anybody brag with that same cheerfulness.. about having been forced to stand in a corner.

 

Discipline it's a very touchy subject all I know is if you're not disciplined by your parents------ the world is going to do it for you. I totally believe that these stone walls we have in New England we're responsible for training teenage boys.. because if they had to go out and roll rocks around the pasture for an hour or so before anyone would feed them supper my guess is when they sat down to dinner they had a lot better attitude than what caused them to have to go roll the rocks around in the first place. In my vast experience at child rearing. (two well behaved girls) I found that misbehavior was usually the cause of too much energy so that if I told them to go stand in the corner I was going to force them to be frustrated by lack of movement.  but if I had them go  “runaround the pine tree” ...  which was about an eighth of a mile away...  they would come back with an entirely different attitude.. I do think.. as I do with dogs..  you need to initiate their attention somehow..  ----the nuns used a ruler whacking their fingers as the “startle factor”  which I've often discussed before .  but I do think the standing in a corner bit is counter productive--  you need to use up the energy..

  I heard once that some school had given up physical ed mid morning  as too distracting---  I think they reversed that quickly.

 

Now as for the latest mail call episode.... Roving around the countryside towing a camper trailer..  yes that was us and yes we did pull into a McDonald's to try and get better reception on our phones so we could do a proper mail call..  the camper trailer is the result of a very long story and a very....um how do I say this ..... sympathetic  group of maybe three people--Who offered this to me as a possible solution to my guesthouse problem..  their feeling was if I had that nice camper trailer (and it is nice.. ) that they might be able to..... as we used to do...... fly across the country and get on the shuttle bus for a few days at  crazy acre Without having any further expense ...you didn't need to rent  a car you would eat whatever we ate you'd have a clean and dry place to stay and things like that and after a few days of hard labor on the farm I would put you back on the shuttle and you go back to wherever you came from ----in some cases Oregon.. couple of my favorite camera people come from Oregon so I'm now happy to report that.  if you can get here,  we should be able to have some fun for a couple of days.... i can guarenteee only thAT IT WOULD BE INTERESTING !!!

to hear anyone say SDP pays all expenses just does not know the facts.  Sdp pays a very low rent. Which happens to be the same number as the re tax .---- just a number—so  go find me another 10 acres with even one building on it for $1000 a month--- an empty stall is worth $400 per month—the area of kennels I thru 10 could be  5 stalls--- that is a clear $2000 just for the area of 1 to 10 in the barn... no pastures – no arena—no hay... no nothing.  

 

I needed to make a list of some of the bills I've paid or outstanding bills that need paying or expenses that are coming up.----  you have no idea how much money I have put in on a monthly basis and my favorite examples right at the moment happened to be the $900 for a new pump for the fountain in the pond which is critical so we don't get green slime and a lot of mosquitoes the last motor for the pump I bought in 2014 and it lasted for till now.  another out of pocket--the generator at the barn needed a new battery which they need every once in a while that was $203... drop in the bucket-- constant expense as a matter of fact we have three generators I only bought one battery so far..

 and then there's the problem where there's a situation that's just plain ignored.. I found out yesterday that the water in the cellar which I have seen six months ago it's still there and everyone seems to know about it... apparently the washing machine has a leak and it's been leaking for six months and nobody fixed it or even noticed there are 100 things around here. which everybody just ignores..  My favorite trash...  has anyone even thought about the fact that in the laundry room there's a huge laundry machine which has been broken for over a year and nobody has thought about ---that I know of ---either fixing it or getting it out of there as trash----- I hate to think what it's going to cost to take it to the dump. but there there's it's just another problem which is which people just ignore and walk around ---- there are so many of those it's extremely upsetting.  and mostly it's because they just don't think about it somebody else is supposed to do it and that has been me. And Bud.... for years---- except I don't do it anymore. I can't. I'm not happy about that... I would much rather be able to just fix things and go on but I can't do that.

 Most of you 1400  daily doggie readers..know and realize.... I hope the few that  think all the bills are paid will stop and think....

 

Well that's my venting for the day maybe... maybe not. probably would be better if I just forgot the topic.

so looking forward the breakfast tomorrow morning I have to get my head organized and I also would like to take a few things to set out on a table as a normal person would do things like business cards if we had them but we don't .... we don't even have a design yet for the business cards but I'm working on it.. I do think I will take lackey with me he's usually such a good boy and he loves people---- all people----harl  color is so spectacular ---he'll show up on any carpet.

 

Janine finally has a household camera working which is beautiful---the clarity is wonderful--and it's set on the mail call area which usually involves a dog or two and people seemed thrilled to have the camera working.. once she got that going she went out the door on her way to the donkey camera and I don't know whether she got that working yet or not but I'll tell you that certainly is one thing I couldn't even attempt when I listened to her say things like” no that's capital J small letter K 14 capital Q 9/2. “  As they recited back and forth password after password it was more than I could even stand to listen to umm..  but she hung in there. People are loving the new mail call with Elizabeth and me and Carly So let's get on A roll...

i am so excited to have a project !  and if it was a normal project i would share it with you..... but if i did i guarantee 94% would think i have gone rounds the. bend,,,,, including my daughter....  so. it will suffice to say.-------- i consider "a home  is where you are warm, dry, fed  and safe". there is not a lot else required--- as witnessed by the number of nursing homes Judy and i visit with my dogs .. nursing homes provide just that--- anything else is a struggle... like why can't i get more on the explore cameras???? i do try..... but the dogs are popular. -- we try  to see 100 people a week..

they really are getting to be her dogs too.... if we are at opposite ends of a room   calling them  i honestly don't know who they would go to...- at any rate.......  Saturday morning i am invited to speak--- and receive a community service award-- of which i am exceedingly proud... 

You know there is such a thing as gracious living....  Janine brought some friends to have the "tour" of crazy acres-- and one brought with her some home made cookies. under saran wrap.... on a plate....she made them....  i was truely impressed with the thought... i am also impressed if anyone brings me 3 dunkin donut holes too..  it is the concept...  giving... not  always taking--  which makes me the taker---- i know that.  i impress easily ---- especially with food... i rememeber the good old days when  sunday people would bring cut up veggies to put in the pot of  chicken stew on the open fire....

and--------- i met a cheerful smiling person to try and get involved in crazy acres.. as she was rubbing the security wand over me for the courthouse the other day. we had time to kill-- so we got talking--- she was a dog lover-- so i told her  how she had just wanded the only person in t he usa to be thrown out of costco for speeding...  we laughed and were joined by others to  absorb some of our  light hearted laughter-- i  gave her a book of janine's... i really need business cards..(  the books get expensive...)

i hope she shows up--- she was fun to laugh with !  it was amazing.... she is spanish speaking-- i am not....-- but i am deaf  so it doesn't matter what she was speaking-- laughter works.

sitting alone at 2am i thought maybe a discussion of why man hole covers are round

might not offend anyone...if they were square, they could be placed wrong--- the sides being shorter than the diagional- you could drop it thru the hole and then need to get it out again..

being a circle. there is no wrong way... just 360 right ways...so someone long ago figured out a way to eliminate the possibility of having a worker- probably under pressure to earn a living- not thinking  clearly- drop a manhole cover down into  the hole.  this defines the responsibility  of superviser... or leader...   to be aware of errors that could be prevented with basic scientific discovery--- like water flows downhill.

i think i was to write about chickens today---i need to demo the versatility needed on these crazy acres. it all starterd very simply with 26 day old chickens in a shoebox-- just to keep them warm they were put in the  sunroom. aka office  and so they would be more comfortable elizabeth brought in a water tub as their area to run around.... which they did... for the  past 10 days???? and they no longer would fit in a shoe box---one chick would hardly fit in the shoebox alone --- they are getting to be shoebox size themselves and have now commandeered the entire 1/2 that room. all because eliz has another disaster to tend to so teh chick project was handed over for  "care and comfort" with "i will get them outside SOON." ... WELL THAT SOON IS TO BE TODAY BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ONLY  GETTING NOISY BUT ODORIFEROUS.

 

THEY HAVE A PLAN---- I DO NOT THINK IT WILL WORK AND HAVE OFFERED  ANOTHER PLAN---THEIR PLAN IS TO MOVE THE WHITE GUINNEA HEN COOP OUT INTO THE ACTIVE AREA---MINE IS TO MOVE THE JOG CART CHICKEN COOP AND SURROUND IT WITH SNOW FENCE ALL ZIP TIED TO IT...... A TEMP SOLUTION.

 

 WHAT I TELL THEM IS THAT THE WHITE CHICKEN COOP..... LIKE THE HUGE CHAIR INT THE FLAT FIELD--- WAS NOT 

MADE TO BE LIFTED AND CARRIED ANYWHERE--- THE ANGLE OF THE NAILS HOLDING IT TOGETHER WAS NOT DESIGNED TO DEAL WITH "LIFT"  SO AS THEY "JUST MOVE IT"  ONTO THE GRASSY AREA CHANCES ARE IT WILL SELF  DESTRUCT AND NEED POUNDING TO GET IT BACK TOGETHER...  SO IT SHOUDL BE FUN TO WATCH..... AND IT IS RAINING....AND THE CHICKENS HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE...!!!

BUT WHAT DO I KNOW???? 

 

I SAID I WOULD JUST SIT AROUND AND WATCH—AT WHICH POINT JANINE MADE SOME REMARK ABOUT A COLD DAY IN HADES FOR ME TO JUST SIT AROUND AND NOT TO MAKE COMMENTS...

 

DEBBIE PRICE ( NO KNOWN RELATIVE) SENT AN EMAIL SAYING SHE SAW  ME WITH NICK DRIVING THE HAY LOAD IN SALSBURY--- NICK BEING A TOYOTA EXPERT ( EMPLOYEE)  WAS GETTING A  FEEL FOR HOW MY FORERUNNER PULLED THAT LOAD OF 83 BALES....I.E.  REALLY VERY WELL—OBJECT IS TO KEEP THE  “ROLL” GOING....

 

MY FATHER WITH A SUPER MIND--- UNENCOMBERED BY A FORMAL  EDUCATION--- POINTED OUT  THAT  IF THE PURPOSE OF THE GAS WAS TO PROPEL THE CAR FORWARD, THEN ANYTIME YOU APPLY THE BRAKES

YOU ARE WASTING GAS---AND I DO THINK THERE IS A PURE THOUGHT THERE---- KEEP A BIGGER DISTANCE  FROM THE CAR IN FRONT AND KEEP THE ROLL GOING... BECAUSE THE GAS CONSUMED TO GET THE CAR FROM ZERO TO ONE MPH  IS  EXPENSIVE—AND IF YOU WATCH TRUCK DRIVERS--- THE GOOD ONES KEEP THE ROLL GOING AS THEY WILL CRAWL.INCHING ALONG RATHER THAN STOP.

 

MY FATHER WAS THE ONE WITH THE WATER FILLED WINE GLASS ON THE DASHBOARD—AND IF I SPILLED IT WITH JERKY  TEENAGE DRIVING HE’D TAKE OVER THE DRIVING BIT.
