must be coming along... it is in ?less than 2 weeks?????..it will be delightful for everyone to meet each other
face to face is sometimes amazing to. watch... and..... to have the cp's experience some of what we consider the more mundane details of maintaining crazy acres--- like cleaning/filling water buckets- picking poo-- and haying horses... all these things have to be done regardless of the fact that we will. have alot of visitors--- hopefully visitors who find it amusing to do some of the things we have to do anyway...
it has always amused cp's to do these things...like paint the shed.... because it is a once a year " experience" however on the 364th day it has lost it's amusing factor. and we are very glad to have the help. washing dishes in the kitchen is a dreary chore...-- washing dishes in the barn is enthralling-- certainly. the smells are different !!
i must dig out the board with the holes and the beanbags... i never knew ther was a cornhole organization , until they donated some money to us...
i am hopeing mark has our portable coop done in the next week... so i can load it with chickens.. it is the remodeling of a horse racing sulky-- and i figure iwe can keep it moving so they don't eat every piece of greenery they can reach...--- i have even tried planting grass under a frame of 2 x 4's. so they only could reach and cut off the grass. As it grew....... it did not happen... they pulled each blade up by the roots and i was left with the bare soil so frequently seen beneath chickens and horses... if we keep this moving it shoudll be a feed and fertalize operation.
we have one goat back..... i don't know exactly why... maybe he got on the trailer by mistake as i picked up that big horse who had throat surgery-- along with mo ( the mule.. remember her??) janine intends to ride him in the fall hunting episodes,,, so why is he here??? she says he is a 4 year old and somewhen clumsy on h is feet.. so she thought our rocky hillside would be good practice for him..
hmmmmm. ------riding a clumsy 4 year old would not be my choice;
i had a very lovely but clumsy 10 year old fall with me turning a corner once.... for no apparent reason-- and i never recovered that fear ---- ever since i have concentrated on riding a straight line.... i am just not the barrell racing type... actually had 2 year old janine riding in front of me on my lap when he fell.... i threw her off to the left and she was fine... mentally i was a wreck ! he just got up and shook his head with a "whoops" look on hi s face... his name was tachycardia.. "tacky". great horse--- worked with the handicapped for several years.never took a wrong step there... retired and died with us.
the goat? will survive nicely on the goat diet.... "weeds and water" very similar to the human diet of salads and water...
lynn has a whole bunch of things organized..... I am concentrating on what we have to do anyway...i.e. being prepared for the unexpected...
