LEARN SOMPTIN NEW EVERY DAY-- ALONG WITH CHARLIE'S NEVER STOP LEARNING....I am told by them who pretend to know.. that if there is a problem with the 2 "outfits". making use of crazy acres, they both have board of directors who do have some legal responsibility to manage things......
and i have 2 problems---- one for each of them. SDP and ERN
both i have mentioned before to the general dd readers with no follow thru- well i am told there is a necessary follow thru report i should be getting for every problem reported. ok/. here we go again....
ERN --- the color of the manure pile is far too light-- you are throwing away bedding and hay--- there are 3 stages of manure piles. dark brown/black is valuable- often sold...definite brown but lighter...can be given away.. and light tan-- i have to pay someone to take it away and it all has to do with the percentage of actual poo..the different pitchforks are geared for each kind. 9 tines about an inch apart will give teh proper percentage if you shake it twice to leave shavings behind. for those of you who think "how serious a problem can that be" have never had to deal with the steady flow of manure, and probqably should not be on that board.
the SDP problem is far more serious and needs immediate attention-- especially since i have been offering this for discussion - it gets worse by the day- and can produce a horrific accident.- this place crazy acres - namely the puppy hill and flat field were designed to contain young danes and give them the opportunity for exercise. up and down puppy hill.. both are circled with a 4 foot high fence- perfectly adequate for dane puppies--- however... these dogs that are now being turned out in those fields are nearly full grown and totally capable of jumping those 4' fences.. and. are doing just that.
this week they tell me it was riker who jumped a 5' fence out of the pond enclosure-- there is a photo of the escape.. i think the board of directors is unaware of the complications of a 150 pound happy, free roaming dane.
I have personally come to several in the driveway.. which has no gate between them and the multitude of yorkshire terrier type dogs being walked in front of our house daily..
Living in this type semi residential neighborhood one has to expect an animal to get loose now and again.... however when it is a known problem with no attempt to remedy it becomes a very different matter....
there are other fenced areas with 6' fencing--- but 3 of those are not useable because of trees falling on them and no one fixed them. the people in charge of these things probably have not noticed.
well.... i will send this to the board-- which i believe relieves me of the worry. sdp does carry insurance for the board -- but i don't think that covers a situation like this. there is about 1500 feet of that 4' fencing and only one 10' section of the 5' at the pond..
i have had danes jump a 6' fence-- but those were stud dogs who had no interest in yorkshire terriers... they are a whole new ballgame
