the repurposed material web is comic relief--- today the speciality is 750 burlap bags to a bundle--- and teh worm growers are scooping them up !!! who knew???
back in the good old days when we had chickens-- we bought worms--- we opened worms at mail call.....--- thousands of dried worms and i commented about those making it thru the covid blockage so i didn't need to worry about bread??
i miss the chickens---they gave a certain "air" to the place... and having the old time staff chasing chickens into pens every night at 4:55 was an entertainmnet hard to replace--- for most.. it was a love hate relationship -- something most the staff never had to do before and most enjoyed the cocktail conversation it provided.
then somebody decided it was work. how drab.
the concept of "how lucky i am to be able to be out in the fresh air chasing chickens". was totally gone. to have a chicken walk in front of your car in the driveway was not amusing.....it was annoying --"i am far to important to be annoyed by a chicken...." ---so the chickens are gone--- so are the eggs... and much of the fun.
our perfect speed control devices....gone-----i can just hear--- "she is not talking about...... and give a list of problems... the neigh sayers will swing into action.
todays plan is the drop by centers--- i need to practice a bit of walking with our friend pasta.... and those would be a good place- specially when they are near a "lunch"...spot
he had his rabies shot yesterday--- that is critical even at his age /size... because a scratch would be equal to a bite in some situations...
yesterday we counted dogs on property. --- not counting the many dogs which staff bring here daily... - and we had 15 +12. at the counting... one might have been out with john.... am i correct,,,, we started with 9 in one litter and 8 in another?? my master list is not up to date....
all you camera people. can help with the numbers.. now for the hard part..... those litters. where were they born and who attended the birthings.... like this last litter of 12 i think sharon welcomed 2 and haley 10??
you guys have much better records than i do.... but to have those details would be heelpful....
