march 26 2019

i KNOW IT IS GOING TO BE A CHALLANGING DAY WHEN  i stopped  the car to argue with Delores-- and  Delores is a mannequin.
We have some "up-catching" to do today-- in the process of entering, backing up ,sorting and retreiving  we have missed a bunch of people who signed up for volunteering- teh big job today is to  contact these people nd let then know how needy we are-- especially since.... i am told... spring is here... and we need to uncover these crazy acres while continuing to train dogs and keep the laundry done.
let it be known..... there is not a person  yet to appear in our driveway that i can not set to work at something. it takes a villiage to run this joint- and we need to contact  the group of volunteers who may have been slighted. if people would just clear a 10 x 10' section  we might get to have beautiful green grass--instead of pine needles and small twigs.
we have alot of rakess-- but maybe i should  get in a few more.... i will put them  in the white G-tent...
where is that???? it is the smaller of the 2 white buildings very easily identified on teh google earth of 37 boxford rd ipswich.
those many tons of stone dust which  we spread before dogfest to look really goooood, are now all plowed up on what was once almost green grass-- or at least  green dandilions--- and the lack of sufficient stone dust in places has lead to 47  pot holes ( aka bladder busters)
teh many tons of stone dust i  simply carried in with our new dump trailer has also done amazing things to the brakes on my  toyota...-- it is teh kind of thing car manufacturers don't talk about-- the towing capacity is not nearly as critical as teh stopping capacity. i have grown to appreciate getting some mass in motion that you then can not stop with any degree of accuracy. historically a 6 horse  5th wheel trailer coming home from  the kids vermont trail rides-- i have never been so glad to see a long uphill ahead of me. so now  as i move this dump trailer around- i am painfully aware that  the nice man at toyota service  is probably correct-- i better have the brakes rejuvinated  before they quit entirely.

all those people who brag so quickly all winter about   "i can go, i have 4 wheel drive"-- or " my car can accellerate forom 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds" are ignoring the other half-- it can go from 60 to 0 in 0 seconds.
you can not accelerate at the rate with  which you can decelerate... teh tremendous amount of salt used on  the roads  has eliminated a specific learning process.--it really is teh same reasoning that made snowblowers replace the industrious neighborhood kid who would shovell your walk for a buck.-- or even 10 bucks... now they don't know how to use a shovel at all.... unless you find a farm kid...
i still maintain there is nothing  wrong with having young male chldren  roll big heavy rocks around fields  to build stone walls...like they did all over new england---  there is no substitute for hard work-- the kind that produces a some  result...
to lie about in an air conditioned room and lift weights is just not the same... and the legal system in mass knows it-- as the courts send guys who have done somethig requiring legal action-- to SDP  for what they call " community  service"
i set them to pounding posts or rolling rocks...  the national honor society also demands community service-- i am inclined to give them slightly easier jobs.-- slightly....

This is your quarterly AmazonSmile donation notification. Your charity, Service Dog Project Inc, recently received a  donation of $1,695.59
thanks to customers shopping at   smile dot amazon  dot  com  ( it won't let me include an  actual link)
which turned out to be $11k for the year....

This is not an insignificant amount! $11K!!!!! Might be worth it to mention in the DD and tell people how easy it is to set up. Less than a minute. It all adds up and everybody uses Amazon. Also good to let friends and family know….
