A PARTRIDGEBERRY NEIGHBOR CALLED THIS MORNING-- I WAS THRILLED TO HEAR IT WAS NOT ABOUT A DOG BARKING-- BUT SOMEONE'S INDOOR CAT HAD GOT OUT- AND THEY WOULD LIKE US TO LOOK FOR IT... YOU BET !!
MY GUESS IS IT WOULD NOT BE INT HE KENNEL AREA-- BUT THE CHICKENS AND GUINNEA HENS-- SO WE WIL,L LOOK...
*******
AND LOOK OUT WORLD HERE I COME----HEY LOOK THIS OVER-- LIKE THE SONG SAYS-- i HAVE JUST GOT T ONTO THE BIUNCH OF VOLUNTEER FILES WE HAVE -- WE DO HAVE AN ORGANIZIONAL PROBLEM WITH tHE VOLUNTEER LISTS --- I HAVE SPENT THE DAY/NIGHT COMPILING THEM - HOPEFULLY WITH OUT DUPES-- AND WILL NOW MAKE AN EFFORT TO GET A MESSAGE OUT-- YOU MAY HAVE SIGNED UP FOR VOLUNTEEERING AND NEVER HEARD FROM US AGAIN... HOPE\FULLY YOU WILL NOW... SOMETIME THIS MORNING I WILL plead for springtime cleanup help-- come rake a 10' x 10' area which should be lawn-- put on a dragging tarp and dump the leaves etc in the brush pile by teh parking pit. any time 7 am to 7pm 7 days a week... you cdon't need to sign up fo rthis one-- PLAN A FAMILY FRESH AIR OUTING..... we have most of 12 acres to do... do not dispare.. if you can do a 10 x 10' area you can consider it yours. several companies are sending A GROUP OF people to help[-- but the guts of this crazy acres are the individual; volunteers who put in a few hours here and there - people are inclined to thank me-- but the truth be known, i drink more coffee than putting forth actual physical effort. teh success of donating a dog to some one is totally dependent on the laundry folders, snow shovelers, dish washers and scrap basket emptiers.

after we get raked... i do need to investigate brick end farms manure piles... IT DOES GOOGLE... HAMILTON MASS...
appaerntly they have 2 kinds of piles... i don't understand-- if i did, i would be a landscaper-- which i am not. one kind is the kind to put in a vegtabel garden which blocks little weeds from getting going--- this is not the kind yo want to put on your lawn-- which 2 yeasrs aGO A TRUCK ARRIVED IN THE YARD WITH A LOAD OF BLACK "DIRT" FOR FREE--- I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS A LANDSCA-ER WITHTHE WRONG STUFF ON HIS TRUCK FOR SOMEONE'S LAWN.. IT WAS BLACK SO I SPREAD IT-- BY THAT PUPPY HILL AREA-- AND NOTHING GREEN GREW--NOT EVEN DANDELIONS...-GOT TO TRY AGAIN... I DO LIMKE SOME GREEN TO SHOW---SO AFTER THIS RAKE PROJECT I W ILL GET A LOAD OF TEH CORRECT BLACK DDIRT AND HOPEFULLY WE CAN HAVE GREEN BY DOGFEST---
I GO THRU THIS EVERY SPRING.... TEH FLAT FIELD, PUPPY HILL SITTING AREA AND GUEST HOUSE-- I KIND OF GAVE UP ON THE POND.

Dear Carlene,
This week marks my third week since Sunny and I were matched. She could not be more perfect ! She knows what to do without my even asking. Though we are both learning something new each day about each other, she is teaching me far more than I am teaching her. We are working on our pace. Each day we go somewhere new just to walk. We have made several visits to the Portland Mall, Targets, Home Goods, the grocery store etc.
She has the best “down stay” ever. She was perfect when I went for my 3 hour infusion this week and when i went to get my hair done and when I went out to dinner with friends. She has made getting out and about so much easier and has given me so much more confidence.
I know that you have been told one hundred times over that “thank you” just does not even begin to express how all of us who have been gifted a SDP dog feel. And that is so true. I have also learned through my volunteer work there that every person’s job at Crazy Acres is equally important as the other’s. It does take a village! I will never forget the first day I was there to volunteer and I said to you “well I can’t do much but I can do laundry and wash dishes” and you said to me “that’s quite a lot because it frees up the hands of those that can do more, to do more” and that meant more to me than you can ever know because it meant that i was going to be worth something to the success of this organization’s mission.
Sunny and I will continue to be there every Wed. There is no downside to volunteering. Everybody wins! ( and while I am there Sunny has fun with her friends)
Best regards
Lou A
