whatta day yesterday.it is such a good thing i have such a problem with  shortterm memory.. i don't remember who... but i sure remember the jist of the  internet comments.. i think it went like this....#5 ( cinco) is just being left to die....carlene is not paying any attention/...cinco is starving.... dr pol had a calf that wouold not suckle and he passed a tube..why doesn't carlene take cinco tothe vet and hqve them pass a tube and feed her,,, she should be at the vet's... we gave money for the fun fund so we should be able to tell carlene what to do...  and it went on from there....perfectly well meaning people jumped on the bandwagon  because one or two people love to churn up trouble for trouble's sake...and they love to end with "i'm not going to donate to sdp anymore therefore sdp will collapse."

couple things......

i don't do this on a regualr basis but i can sort the chicken brick donations by name, and the persons who start this kind of thing  always threaten to stop donating but their name is noticeably not  on the list of donors....

it is always someone who has one slightly related fact in thier heads.. like DR POL and his calf.. then applies that negatively  to whatever i have .. or am doing.

in this case they did not know we had been bottle feeding  cinco ever y 45 minutes all night long.... lord knows tehre are still plenty of complications that have ior could happen-  aspirTION PNEMOINIA IS ONE OF THEM,,,,   but we are on it... and she is getting better at nursing  -- i..e.  less of it is coming out her nose.... now.. thAT NOSE COMMENT WILL PRECIPITATE ALL SORTS OF CLEFT PALLET COMMENTS.. PLEASE SAVE YOUR  EMAILS.. I HAVE ALREADY CONSIDERED THAT.. AND ALSO CONSIDERED WHAT  DIFFERENCE WOULD THT KNOWLEDGE MAKE TO  THE WAY WE ARE HANDLING IT.  WHAT WE ARE DOING IS MAKING HER HAVE MORE MEYENBERG  PUPPY FORMULA IN HER TUMMY... AND YESTERDAY MEGAN GOT HER ATTACHED TO A NIPPLE.. WHICH MAy or may not have made her get any mommy milk in the tummy...  but the concept was progress.   so lets leave it at that...

I MAY HAV GOT 2 CC's OF COLOSTERUM IN HER BY SYRINGE  WAY BACK AT THE START... LET US HOPE....

I liked the #5 update, mostly I liked the fact that you pointed out the reality of the situation.  I agree with you, something seems not right, maybe lack of oxygen, dunno if there are “dummy pups” like there are “dummy colts”, but, in the end Mother Nature decides & all we can do is offer what we feel like is the proper level of support.   

We had a dummy colt and it was heartbreakingly exhausting.  It was our 4th born, we were young, dumb, & we thought invincible.  Thought we could “over come the odds”, we stimulated it,  held it up to nurse, bottle fed, walked it,  but, after four days Nature won, we lost the colt & the mare was ballistic.  In retrospect at an older and hopefully wiser age we would’ve let the inevitable happen without our interference prolonging the end.  But, it’s a damn hard call to make & NO one except those with the “hands on” the situation can make the decision.  

That said, WHATEVER decision you make it’s the right one & no one has the right to question. 

 Hubby & I talked about your situation we just had to shake our heads in wonder at how MUCH harder your job is being on camera.

NOW GETTING BACK TO REALITY AND THE CHICKEN BRICKS   110 PEOPLE DONATED WED AND 92 ON THIURSDAY AND 5 ALREADY TODAY  SO IT LOOKS LIKE WE WILL SELL OUT THE 2100 (?TODAY?)  WHICH  HELPS WITH OUR PAYROLL AND GET IN TO "THE PURPLE EGG DIVISION "   WHICH SUPPORTS  TEH FUN FUND   I.E. THOSE THINGS NOT NECESSARY  BUT FUN.

FACT... WE HAVE STEADILY SOLD OUT  EVERY MONTH SINCE 2012-- SOMETIMES WE  BARELY SKATE THRU-- LIKE ON HOLIDAYS-- BUT PEOPLE DO WATCH AND THROW IN AN EXTRA $10 OR SO AT THE LAST MINUTE IF THEY CAN.. 

   IT IS PURELY A GROUP EFFORT...AND OUR RECIPIENTS SAY A BIG THank you.

the palace de poulet-  report....-- with diffficulty i have constructed the nesting boxes from over 200 pieces (reality... alot of those were nuts and bolts...)  i have put it where you can see each hen ...if that is where they go to lay theri eggs.

.now.... before  the crowd gets all excited,,,  you need  one nest for every 5 hens... they share.   

 we are within days of enabling our group to  come see their new "digs"..

now to figure out how tohve the perches where they would want them , you can see them ... and we can still get around in the coop..

egg facts--- by rumor...  each hen lays an egg every 36 hours   

our 20 baby chicks are looking alomost mature

teh 20 were to be all girl chickens, but i think i see at least one rooster we didn't have before...

roosters qare not necessary foir egg laytng...

 they are if you want ot have fertile eggs

and i don't know exactly how that works  with eggs and shells and things like that.

someone will expoolain , i am sure.

not all hens sit on eggs to hatch them... broody hens do.

how could i forget... the end of a commercial egg carton has teh date  done withthe julian calendar numbers 

ny sells white eggs ... boston   brown ones... they are aol the same egg wise.

and 3 chickens  at 3:00 pm     on the first sunday of every month are chosen to select the new member of the shatupon society at crazy acres !!

Hippo birdies to  ewe....(daughter gwen)..

 NUMBER 5 SEEMS TO BE EATING SLIGHTLY  MORE EVERY TIME.  THIS WILL BE A FEATHER IN  GOLDIE'S CAP ( WITH THE HIELP OF LINDA and myeynberg puppy milk replacer.)i have always used a normal people nursing bottle as teh mipple closely approximates the size of a dog's  nipple...   without aq lot of success with  "five"  ---- then pam found  either a toy bottle or a kitten one .. i,e, much smaller and linda opted to try it.. (i will discuss bottle management later  it is not simple) linda found she did try abd suck on the tiny nipple ... even tho at that point it had no hole to deliver the milk contents...  so we cut the tip off teh nipple so it wouold  at least drip  and five did suck on it for a few seconds.. apparently successfully .. we have been building on that success and it was reepoirted last night that she is taking more of it every time. 

this does not mean you should stop holding your breath.....  something is wrong somewhere ... now will everyone stop with the run to a vet  requests... beacause if/when i think they couold  do better thn we are doing we will certainly go.  however... at the moment   we have the time to try and get her stronger --- i know full well that vet's offices would put her in  CAGE AND DO OTHER THINGS...  WHEN AT THE MOMENT.... IF SHE DOES HAVE A CLEFT PALLET SORT OF PROBLEM I DON'T THINK  AT 2 DAYS OLD SHE HAS ENOUGH UMPHH TOI STAND SURGERY.. PERSONALLY I THINK  THERE IS SOME NEUROLOGICAL PROBLEM , I THINK SHE WAS THE PUP THAT AS I WAS GETTING HER "DE-SACKED"  HER BODY POSITION WAS VERY CURLED.... AND I CONSCIOUSLY THOUGHT, SHE NEVER GOT OUT OF SIZZLES REAR IN THAT  TWISTED POSITION.

HOWEVER....... THERE IS MUCH TO WORRY ABOUT .. LIKE ASPIRATION PNEMONIA....   THERE ARE TIJMES WHEN A BUBBLE OF MILK WILLCOME OUT HER NOSE... WHICH IS NOT TOTALLY UNUSUAL... BUT WORRYISOME.  

KEEP IN MIND... GEORGE (DVM)  IS PROBABLY WATCHING ALL THIS... 

AND I HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD FROM HIM.   WHICH I TAKE AS "YOU MAY BE NUTS BUT KEEP TRYING"  WHICH AT THE MOMENT I CAN SEE NO REAOSN  NOT TO KEEP TRYING.

NOW ON BOTTLE MANAGEMERNT-- MOST DANGEROUS..... BOTTLE SITTING ON THE COUNTER..  YOUFILL WITHWARM MILK AND SCREW ON TEH CAP.. AND SHAKE IT ONCE OR TWICE FOR GOOD LUCK.....  WHAT YOU HAE CAUSED TO HAPPEN IS YOU HAVE WARMED THE AIR IN THBOTTLE... WHACH EXPANDED AND NOW HAS BUILD UP ENOUGH PRESSURE TO SQUIRT OUT A CONSIDERABLE AMT OF MILK..   CERTAONLY EINOUGH TO DROWN A TINY PUP... SO ALWAYS INVERT A BOTTLE AND ... IF PLASTIC .. EVEN SQUEEZE...  ONTO A WASHCLOH  TO BE SURE THERE IS  NO  BUILD UP BEFORE INTRODUCING IT TO THE PUP  ...

Lady Ripple and Sandy
Lady Ripple is my best friend and partner in crime!
As her title Service Dog who she is indeed.
She has become my everything!
She allows me to walk without walkers and crutches which are very dangerous and unsteady!
When I fall I can't get back up, but with my girl she gets me back up and off we go again!

I was working in my yard on my hands and knees with my partner by my side.
We got so hot we decided to ride the golf cart down to the lake to do something I could not do since my illness.
Even though this was her first time to swim and off we went like two little girls!
Even though we are still new especially with the quarantine to not allow us to work in public, we are like two kids doing so many fun things that Johnny never knows what we will try next and say's he's now having to watch both his girls.

When my rare illness struck paralyzing me waist down within 24 hrs my life changed and in spite of all the work and many hospital stays I had to realize life was not over, it just has to be in a different way!
One of the hardest things when you have disabilities are the ways a restaurant or public place you enter kinda stop's and are looking at you.
Not to admire how nice you look even when you try too look your best and to blend in, never the less that is not the looks you receive.
You work with the attitude that I'm not a victim, I'm not less than you and know you mean well with your questions of what happened to you?
Now that I have My Lady Ripple Service Dog, Friend, and Family I walk proud because of her everyone's eye's are on her and how lucky am I to have her in my life!
I can't wait to wake up every morning to see my girl.
The only thing that makes me different now is I have a Beautiful and Special Girl that makes me proud and Blessed and something that makes me different with pride all because of her and SO!

Hi Carlene,

It has been a busy summer so far for Dolly and I, even with these crazy times.  We have been to many picnics and outside gatherings (social distancing). I know one of the things that I had mentioned when I applied for a service dog was that I had hoped to be able to regain my ability to walk through the grass independently again. Well that has been a dream come true!! I can't even begin to really put into words the joy, the pleasure, the excited/contentment that I feel by being able to do these things again, that years ago I could no longer do. I remember a time when I would get to the edge of the sidewalk, stop and wonder, " How am I going to get over "THERE"?" That had become a reality of mine. I would stop and wait for my husband to come along and help me. If he wasn't with me I would have to rely on a family member or close friend. 

One of the things i am passionate about is capturing memories by taking photos. Dolly allows me to reach my dreams and passions. I am so grateful to be able to do that with Dolly's help. I am able to walk around the yard and capture pictures of kids playing in the pool, the sandbox, fishing at the pond, and of course the cake and gifts at birthdays. The sense of independence is unquestionable. 

I could go on and on about all the wonderful things that Dolly has brought into my life since we have been paired, almost 6 years ago. I am so appreciative to be able to share some really wonderful things with Dolly like Vacations and such, but what I am most grateful for is the day to day things I am now able to do, her and I. We are a team, I am hers and she is mine. Thank you so much for the vision you had one day, a long time ago. I Thank you for staying true to your vision and making it a reality. Thank you to everyone that has come along side of you to help change lives. You guys are awesome!!! <3

i missed a daily doggie yesterday....   i don't do thqt often... but then i dpn't have to be up all night delvering pups either...  sizzle finally had 11.. one was doa.. there is one other i don't think will make it  .. it is the one who did not latchon at birth.. tehn i noticed it had not made any noise.. and started centrifical force drainage.. it finally made a squeek, but there is sopmethig worng with it's ability to nurse...  i will try a bottle today, but i don't have any great hopes ..  the other 2 slow to nurse.. are dong fine ...per pam... who stayed  woith them all noight.

we need overnighters...   2 of them every night...  a paying job....  contact pam... 7 pm tp 7:30 am.  for about the next 3  weeks?????  WE HAve a few... but there are gaps... 

between may' 9  and siz we haVe A  NICE SUPPLY OF DOGS TO TRAIN FOR PEOPLE  WHO NEED THEM ..  WITH GREAT HEvy duty pups of may's and the litgher version of sizzles... tho tht does not always hold true..  it is going to be difficult withso many black pups... mark... we need photos's  .

  if they had each ahd 5 pups,i would be looking to breed skye.. who just came in heat, but i think i will skip thysi cycle with her.  just before we get spome of thiwese pups down to thebarn, like in september, this house will be  "challanges..."

as the song goes....  "we did it before  and we can do it again."  

especiLLY IF WE FIND SOME MORE OVERNIGHTERS..

most people raising dogs do not provide overnigh t  sitters.... and many people raising dogs don't mind  if they lose one or two..  we mind.

the mind  expanding talk of the week is barbara alinker's TED talk on mobility  ( i think this works or google. https://youtu.be/EtBK3MgZeqo)   she had a few "quotable quotes" in her 20 minute talk   about addressing a problem in the firawt place b y revearsing you position iwth the problem. in her case she found that  riding in a wheelchair made you  a sub species where people talked over you...  i know this to be true. 

 atg some point in my careere..... i remember my saying ... "i can talk, i just can't walk "  and thought of teh kid left in the hall by her school attendent like a sack of grain dumped there... so this barbara person invented a sort of stand up tricycle to keep the person at eye level for oopeners... her talk was right on for mobility... so i did send her an email  asking if she was aware of how i had addressed the same issues  with GreaT Danes.

sizzle has a big belly... not huge.. but big.. and she is very casual... flipped arounf a few fluffies, but nothing alarming as they usually do.

 meanwhile may has decided motherhood is not all it is cracked up to be... and would rather sleep on the couch in th eliving room..  in spite of the all the food, chicken and cheeze we are feeding her-- she is not fat... maybe start some goats milk today to help out.

the chicken shed had a nasty  detour yesterdqay when there was not quite enough ink to make th  astrtisk more visable thqt said one of the pieces was shipped separately...

today being siz's first due date.. i may have at it again trying to put the 6-nest together....  they saved a Lot of ink by not making the directions  very detAILED

APPARENTLY I AM NOT GIVING ENOUGH EMPHASIS ON  INK... BECAUSE THRERE IS ONE BANKING OUTFIT THQT DOES NOT INCLUDE TEH DONOR'S NAME IN AN EFFORT TO SAVE INK.... ON THE PAGE THEY ARE ALREADY SENDING US???

MY HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED..  MEN WITH EITHR A WIFE OR DAUGHTERS SHOULD LISTEN TO THIS ALSO.

AS A TEEN AGER I WAS LABORIOUSLY   TAUGHT HOW TO IRON A MAN'S WHITE SHIRT ... AMONG OTHER THINGS.  IN HIGH SCHOOL I WAS ADVISED BY MY GUIDENCE DIRECTOR NOT TO PURSUE  ONE CAREER, BECAUSE THAT WAS A MANS JOB AND I SHOULDN'T KEEP  IT FROM A MAN WHO HAD TO SUPPORT  HIS FAMILY .... IT DIDN'T TAKE ME LONG TO DECIDE IRONING SIRTS WAS A MAN.'S JOB AND FOR 35 CENTS EACH , HE COULD  HAVE IT ! 

THAT WOMAN'S SPEECH WAS EQUALED  ONLY BY A BLACK WOMAN I MET  ON A PHOTO JOB YEARS AGO.... WHO HAD STRUGGLED TO BECOME ONE OF THE FIRST WOMEN "FIREMEN"  IN BOSTON... BEING BLACK WAS A DOUBLE WHAMMY-- HER IDEAS WERE WELL CONCIEVED ALSO.

FYI...THE THINGS  I WAS TAUGHT GOT ME PREPARED FOR LIFE ON THE PRAIRIE....

 IF YOU ARE  MAKING JAM OR JELLY, YOU NEED A HUGE PAN SO THAT THE STUFF IS NOT MORE THAN 2 INCHES THICK AND CAN "BOIL OFF" THR MOISTURE.. 

THAT WAS LONG BEFORE COSTCO- AND CASES OF JAM.

AND BEFORE TEH WORDS "LABOR INTENSIVE" PERTAINED TO WOMEN..

LABOR INTENSIVE -----ALSO PERTAINS TO OWNING A HORSE....  FOR  EVERY HOUR YOU RIDE THE BEAST REQUIRES  40 HOURS OF  PHYSICAL EFFORT AND CONSIDERABLE EXPENSE.   DRaft horses that are not used for  "WORK"  are even worse.. the harness weighs a ton and theri feet are  in need of a blacksmith ever 6 to 8 weeks... and since there are not mqny blcksmiths who shoe drafties, they are expensive... last i knew  15 years ago... $250 per horse every

 8 weeks.

we had  a gradution yesterday with RIGEL... i know we shou ld make a ceremony of teh pairing  of dogs, but somehow we are stretched to get everything 4else done.... which leaves out all the people who have contributed $10 chicken bricks to make this happen--- maybe when lynn comes on board she can take over  "styff"  and i can go back to worrying about parties ---  which is a lot more FUN.

CLOTHING... IN MY BOOK.. SHOULD COVER THE ESSENTIAL BODY PARTS AND BE RELATIVELY CLEAN.. AT LEAST TO START WITH.

IN  THE PAST I HAVE BEEN CHASTISED  FOR NOT REGULATING WHAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE WEARING.  THERE MIGHT  BE A DISCUSSION  ABOUT  COVERING NECESSARY BODY PARTS,  BUT    JUST WHO DECIDES WHICH PARTS ARE ATTRACTIVE TO WHOM IN WHAT PROPORTION... ....   BUT THAT IS USUALLY THE LACK OF CLOTHING TO HIDE WHAT SOME PEOPLE FIND UNATTRACTIVE AND OTHERS MAKE GET PAID TO SHOW IT OFF.

I REMEMBER....... 

SOME OF YOU MAY HAVE HEARD THIS BEFORE..... I THINK IT WAS FOR A MICHELOB BEER COMMERCIAL  THAT BECQAME A BILLBOARD... ... THEY WANTED  WOMAN TO SIT ND HOLD A DOG ON HER LAP FACING FORWARD WHILE THE DOG STUCK HIS NOSE UP THE SHORT SKIRT OF A WOMAN STANDING BESIDE HER. I WAS TO GET THE DOG TO DO THIS.  NOW I HAVE NEVER BEFORE HAD THE OCCASION  TO STUDY THE EXACT DETAILS OF ANOTHER WOMAN'S BEHIND,  , BUT AS I SMEARED MY CHEEZE WHIZZ  UP THERE I COULD NOT HELP BUT NOTICE WHOEVER CHOSE THIS REAR OVER OTHERS DID A FINE JOB... IT WAS FLAWLESS. SO SOMEWHERE THERE IS,IN BOSTON...A PERSON WHO;S JOB IT IS TO SELECT PERFECT LOOKING REAR ENDS.  NOW I KNOW THERE ARE MODELS WHO HAVE PERFECT LOOKING HANDS AND FINGERRNAILS - WHO ARE LIST WITH THE  AD AGENCIES.. NEXT  TIME YOU SEE AN   AD WITH A BODY PART, REST ASSURD IT IS  NOT "JUST ANYONE" 

NOW MY MODELING CAREER HAS BEEN SHORT-  I WAS TO PROVIDE 2 HUGE DOGS TO STAND UP PN A COUNTER IN A MALL... IN  MALDEN.  THE SET WAS FOR A SCHOOOL TEACHER FROM THE  BACK WOODS OF MAINE.. TO HAVE COME IN TOTHE MALL AND ASK FOR HELP AT THE CUSTOMER SERVCE COUNTR.  PROBLEM WAS... THE WOMAN  MODEL THEY GOT LOOKED THE PART...., BUT WAS TERRIFIED OF DOGS.

TOTAL PANIC.. AS THEY  HAD ALREADY SPENT MWNY THOUSANDS  OF $$$$  SETTING THIS THING UP AND HIT A WALL, TTIL SOMEONE NOTICED I WAS APROXIMATELY HER SIZE..  SO  ALL THE  MANY RACKS OF CLOTHING THEY HAD THERE WOULD  FIT .. THERE WAS ONLY A BRIEF DELAY ----WHILE I BECAME THAT SCHOLTEACHER FROM MAINE.. DRESSED IN  CLOTHING WHICH  WENT OVERBOARD IN CONCEALING .. EVEN TO THE STOCKINGS BAGGING....  AND I EARNED NOT ONLY THE DOG 'S FEE BUT THE MODELS FEE ALSO.  I DID A SUPER JOB.. AND ALL WERE THRILLEED... BUT MY SUCCESS AS A MODEL WAS LIMITRED TO THAT ONE APPEARANCE. (I THINK THE PROBLEM WAS  MODELS COME IN A SPECIFIC CLOTHING SIZE).  IT WAS ALSO INTERESTING.. I TOTALLY BECAME AN "OBJECT"  AS THEY WORKED ON ME AND I JUST STOOD.  I BEGAN TO WONDER IF T4HE MICHELOB MODEL'S  REAR WAS SO PERFECT BECAUESE SHE WAS "MADE UP"  BY A STYLEST... SO I ... IN MY OLD LADY MODE... JUST SAT DOWN ON THE NEAREST BENCH AND HAD THE DOG LIE THERE WITHME.   THE ARGUING PROCEEDED TO GETTING THE MANAGER AND/ OR POLICE   .. WHICH I  WAS VERY CHEERFUL ABOUT-- TEH GUARD WAS CONFUSED ABOUT MY CHEERFULNESS... HE THOUGHT I WOULD E TERRIFIED... I HAD TEH AGE THING GOING VERY WELL.,, MAMAGER CAME AND SAT WITH ME..AND WE ARGUED FOR A LONG TIME  BEFORE HE RECOGNIZED MY DOG WQS BEHAVING PERFECTLY... AND WAS A HUGE  DANE...  HE SAID " I HAVE SEE A DOG THQT BIG ONLY ONCE BEFORE WHEN I WAS A MANAGER IN MALDEN"  AND I FILLED IN THE CONVERSATION WITH" AND THEY HAD SOME  OLD LADY IN BAGGING STOCKINGS WITH 2 SPOTTEDD  DOGS..... THAT WAS ME" 

WE HAVE BEEN BEST FRIENDS EVER SINCE.

SERVICE DOGS... OR SERVICE DOGS IN TRAINING HAVE ALL TEH SAME PUBLIC ACCESS RIGHTS..( AS LONG AS THEY BEHAVE)

COVID was no fun, and while I'm still having some breathing issues, I am far better than I was just a few days ago.  My partner ended up in the hospital a few days, and that was scary, but she is doing quite well, now.  Getting stronger everyday.

LINDA DECLARED THAT TODAY WAS TO BE SALUBRIOUS SATURDAY SO WE COULD RECOVER FROM   F#$%^&*- UP FRIDAY. 

OK...ONE USEOF TEH JULIAN CALENDAR----  NOT YET TRIED...  is used for dating eggs. You can figure out how old the eggs are by the number on the end of the package.  I BET THERE ARE 1000 USES LIKE THQT  WE NEVER KNEW ABOUT.

OUR CALENDAR WILL  BE ONE OF THEM.  IT'S  COMING ALONG...  MARK AND KITTY ARE PULLING IT TOGETHER...WE ARE GOING TO MAKE IT BEFORE DOGFEST  EVEN IF DOGFEST IS VIRTUAL... I REALLY WANT TO HAVE  A BUNCH OF SPIRIT STICKS TO PUT ON DISPLAY...IN THOS RACKS JERRY AND STEVE BUILT...

100 YEARS AGO... WHEN I BOUGHT TIFFANY FROM THAT AKC BREEDER WHO WQS SO WELL KNOWN ( BMW KENNEL, LONGISLAND) SHE TOLD ME TO STAY AWAY FROM ALL THE SUPPLEMENTS AND JUST FEED TEH DOGS GOOD FOOD... SO I HAVE ALWAYS FED JUST PURINA-- EVEN BEFORE THEY DONATED IT TO US !!

WELL,,, I DO GIVE TEH  YOUNG PUPS ( AND PREGOS) A  GENERIC VITAMIN PILL-- BUT IHAVE NEVER DONE TEH "PROMOTES GROWTH" PRODUCTS... OUR DOGS GET BIG ENOUGH.

FYI---  big time...... i never knew !!!---- this is day #206  sizzle is due day #209 because she was bred on day #146  thanks to a CP..... .finally...no more will i say 30 days hath september !  AH.... what a relief !  teh julian calendar  !   Hi Linda, Just a quick tip or trick if y'all don't already employ it.  I worked in a law firm and we had to calculate due dates all the time and you couldn't be wrong.  They showed me the Julian Calendar was listed at the bottom of our office desk daily calendars and how to use it to be certain you got the right dates.  Saw a post about Sizzle and person counted the days and came up with the 26th so I got on the trusty  Google and looked up the Julian days and that's wrong, it is the 27th.  Here's a quicky list of all the Julian day s of the year so you can look up the beginning date, then add the number of days, and then find that date on it.  Julian Day Calendar now there is a strange  thing to put on our calendar for next year the julian day calendar... there are 2 different ones....    2020 being a leap year  next year ...not. ----- today will be transition day.... may and pups will move t o the sun room  and the kitchen will get set up as sizzles domain....  teh sun room does have sound ( more easily) except it would be invasive for linda who has to talk on the phone.... i often listen to her- and am shocked  at how pleasent she can be  until she gets off the phone... then she is normal. if you start with 76% of our phone calls are from people who are in terrible situations...and been living with horrendous physical limitations-- or thier children have been.. some of the phone calls can take time and patience ..linda does well.. it is so tough when people call who have problems for which we- the danes.... can offer no SOLUTION  ..i know... i get some of them too.... when you have some poor person on the phone who has been sent to SDP as a last resort  and we can not help  it is tough... and some people take it gracefully-- others get angry... i cannot blame them--some call us all kinds of names-- on the internet, simply because we have said "no" . we try and refer to other adi facilities  knowing full well they are overloaded too. the country needs to devel0pe more doctors and nurses.... but we sure could stand more dog trainers too. a big problem is  some kid comes al0ng loving the working  with animals.. a tiny few get shuffled into a  veternarian  career-- the rest becomne vet techs  and groomers...   the training of animals  does not get it's proper attention.  further complicated by  you have heard me say..... " trainers are found, not made"   what happens now is when  TRAiner is found, our school system bangs them into a groomer.  so society can have socially acceptyable sweet smelling dogs that don't behave worth a damn... all these animal science courses do not include enough training... there is a different training  avenue in the zoos that i have been watching on nat'l geo....treaching a lion to come lie next to the wall so someon can do an ultrasound on their tummy..  or getting  a rino to sand with mouth open to inspect  the teeth -- some of the things they get animals to do is fascinating. --- one of the reasons i started sdp was not to help people, but to provide thee dogs with  teh  education and the right to stay with their owners  wherever they go 24 hours a day... which is what any dog wants...  and...you all thought i was being kind to people..???? hmmmmmmmmmmmm  ------- i am thrilled with may's 9 pups.... i hope siz does as well... we have soo many applicangts that we may be able to help... and in  the meantime  all of teh camera people can watch and think about all kinds of service dog related things.. OR....    CHICKEN COOP PROGRESS..  I AM TOLD SOME OF THE PIECES WILL BE DELVERED TODAY.. LIKE SOME NESTING BOXES..... NOW TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE NET END TO ENABLE  TEH CAMERAS TO KEEP TRACK OF  ALL THESE CHICKENS..  SOMEHOW I WILL HQVE TO SHUT SOMETHING AT NIGHT. like that julian  DAY calendar.... googler that ! moving along....

SHORT DOGGIE....  

NOTHER LITTER IN THE MAKING;....SIZZ IS NOT HAPPY... LAST NIGHT SHE WANDERED AND DRAGGED FLUFFIES AROUND.. SO WE HAVE TO GET HER "NEST" READY THIS MORNING... OK ALL YOU EXPERTs----   her first tie starting 5/25   so have at IT  ... thirty days hath septembeer...  give me 63 days...   we are getting there... 

i think we need to move "buds chair" in as the resting for nesting place... that camera has a se-parTE MIC  SO I DON'T WANT TO PROMISE CONSTNT, BUT WE MAY BE ABLER TO GET SOME SOUND...   .heather and all ... are doing a fantastic job with may's pups .

teh loading proceedure --t this is summer... and  this did happen once....

BAD WAY    you put the dog in the back door  and shut it... this leaves you outside the car with both doors and windows shut and teh dog inside. 

 we had a recipient faint at that point.. if teh ambulance person had not noticed teh dog in  her car, we would have hcd a dead dog in 1/2 hour.

so -----.....you opened the DRIVERS  door.. ... leave it open------ and load teh dog in the back and shut  that door.  get in sit down ....shut the  drivers door ........  if you would get in that habit it would be safer for the dog......

From Hunter and Gelato:

We ventured out early in the morning this weekend and went blueberry picking. This was one of the firsts that Gelli will experience. I practiced walking and wearing a mask. My legs are still very jelly like from my injections, so Gelli was my rock and is getting stronger. He helped keep me steady while I picked and protected the berries. If I fell, there would go my hard work and beautiful berries. Gelli did great keeping me more steady while picking and walking. I think he helped look for the big ones too 😉

THERE WERE PHOTOS WITH A  EMPTY WATER JUG AROUND HIS NECK CARRYING BERRIES.. GOOD WAY !----

FYI  I KNOW YOU ARE ANXIOUS TO KNOW... APPARENTLY ALL PLYWOOD IS NOW "EXTERIOR GLUE"... I TOLD THEM I NEEDED THE CHEAPEST PLYWOOD THAT WOULD HOLD UP PAINT.  THAT SHED I BUILT IN LYNNFIELD 40+ YEARS GO  IS STILL STANDING.. IT'S GOT   .LOTSA PAINT !!
