i am fascinated with tiny houses--
**the smallest i have ever lived was in the front seat of a pickup truck for a week while i did a donkey job at ? burlington fair vt???
my neice debby was my help for the week... she lived in the horse trailer... (i had heat in the truck !!) --we had one pan.... we managed...
**the next smallest was while we built this house-- someone loaned us a "camper" in the back of a pick up-- and my husband and i lived there--- we had a shower !!! we were parked in the middle of the parking area-- and the telephone was on a pole by the gate....tom.. ( doctor) carried a pager-- and would have to run to the gate if there was an emergency... sometimes lightly clad in the middle of the night. while janine, still in high school --- lived in the front of .... the horse trailer-- blessed be those horse trailers...
** the next smallest is.. probably now... i have one room and a bath + about a 4 x 4 area around my desk.
and i am comfortable.... warm and fed...

i had an aunt mildred... lovely woman... a teacher of children who were hard of hearing -- in manhattan-- she had a tiny appartment and lived well but frugally. it was a long story... but at the age of 80, she married a guy who was president of a huge ? elevator? company and moved to his estate in new cannon ct.
her constant comment was "blessed be nothing"--- and i never knew if she meant "blessed be the state of not having to take care of and worry about so many posessions"...even tho he had plenty of help to do whatever....
the rest of the story..... after he died ... and she died... and his familyt broke up his house/belongings... they invited me to go and take anything i wanted thst was left--- as i had just had a total house fire, and didn't even have pots and pan...
so i went to new cannon.... you got it.... with the ever present horse trailer... and loaded up.
that is how i came to own a beautiful ... impressive complete set of limouges china- which has since been replace around here with paper plates and is now stashed away in my daughters new house in north carolina--- in all probability, unused.... but beautiful !!!
gracious living to me is a paper plate that does not absorb fluids....
another on the same topic of ....excess....
ever since i heard that guys on submarines dry themselves after a shower with a wash cloth-- i find... it is possible..
those "thirsty plush heavy towels" that clog my closets and washing machines- are totally useless...
altho i admit.. i have gone to a "finger tip towel" ( about 2 washcloths size) ...as my excess in that department.
well- -------that is not the end of that debby and i story in burlington vt with the 8 hitch of donkeys...... she had to leave me on teh wednesday of the week... she had to fly to washington dc for a tennis game with.... senior geroge bush....- at the white house- then flew back to picking up after the donkeys at the fair the next day. she was exceedingly capable at both occupations... she may have been th first to call this "crazy acres"....
that is the time killer for the morning---
time to stare at gussie... and maybe clean my desk????
