i am told today is iheart's b'day- so as celebration tonight after mail call we will consume the box of cookies she sent... ( johanne has been very helpful to keep us fed- and this army moves on it's belly... let me tell you)

because of the complications of keeping the bunch fed... i am tryihg to go to crock pot or oven cooking... sub sandwiches or chinese food can run $75--- so pot roast it is for a bit... or maybe even spagetti...

training...... yesterday i tried taking a bunch of dogs to the fairgrounds to run for a bit... i had intended to take 2 that i could control... bentley and chaos.. and add 2 pups and see if i could get them to pack and behave as a group.. the message got confused and we ended up with 4 people and 7 dogs and cans of food for an exercise in callin g one dog after another in a big triangle... it was successful, but today i want to try a smaller group.
i used to take a whole litter at a time - every morning- a 10 minute run-- took 20 minutes down and back.. and made a huge differencce in the behavoir.. i like to train the entire dog if possible... nothitn teaches a dog to do as they are told as quickly as ..... if i call and put dogs in the van.. and one soots off... just shut the door and sit-- they know the others are in the nice warm van... and they think.....
it is a bit of a risk-- but if the outside dog starts to wander, i then open the door and put out the 2 who behave and it hs always come back to the group....
there was one other error...... there are very few times i want to have 3 people on the payroll in the same vehicle... that is a party... not a job. ... no 2 at once even on the golf cart!!

we are coming into " the giving season" so i am told... so if any of you know anyone capable of the $25,000 donation ( particularly if they work for a company that will match funds) you just let them know... we are here... with a big bunch of future service dogs... but don't hold your breath... the $10 donations are what keep us going...

now about the bed.....we are going to try for one last calendar shot this afternoon--- which will involve the transportation of the bed probably to winthrops........ here comes that horse trailer again... how does anyone get anything done without a horse trailer...? ann's place has miles of galloping trails thru the woods for the horse event "groton house farm" that is where we will be about 1:00pm with william.... wondering the woods... i got involved with helping to start that "event" 30 years ago because i was theo only woman around who could use a chain saw.... a simple cute little horse show deal-- which grew to be one of the ... if not THE.... biggest in the country... with olympic riders type...
