i bet i have lost 5 crock pots that just wandered away, so when i bought this one i set it on the corner of the counter within camera range and asked you all to keep track. thqnkfully 2 of you alerted me today so i can find another on camera spot to keep it so we don't loose another. i will do that today.
the reqason it was moved - is in prep for teh chef for seniors-- who will be here 9am tomorrow morning to prepare 16 meals ( 4 x 4)-- 4 of which will be beef strogonoff
teh POT should then return.

IN THEIR CASE SOME WEALTHY SOUL DONATES A SMART TV AND ALL IS WELL FOR 2 DAYS WHEN SOMEONE WHO HAS THE REMOTE IN THEIR HANDS GETS A PHONE CALL- AND THEY SET THE REMOT NEXT TO THE PHONE..SO THE NEXT GUY COMES ALONG AND SEES TEH REMOTE AND SAYS "I KNOW WE HAVE A BOX FOR THESE IN THE CLOSET"-- AND BINGO--- YOU HAE A USELESS SMART TV . DONOT LAUGH.... IT HAS BEEN TRUE IN 132 OF TEH 133 PLACES JUDY AND I HAVE GONE TO. ! DOWN WITH WIRELESS!!

I read something interesting:
It seems that for 10 years or more, Guam has been plagued by an invasive "brown snake." These snakes have eaten enough birds and eggs to threaten certain populations and also tend to nest in transformers causing electrical disruptions. Much of this occurred on US military property in Guam and the electrical outages got their attention.
Hundreds? thousands? Lots of mice were recruited posthumously to fight the problem. An 80 mg tablet of acetaminophen was inserted into each mouse corpse and the mice were then air-dropped from helicopters over the targeted areas. Those snakes which ate the spiked mice died within 24 hours and lots did. Non-reptiles eating the spiked mice had no ill effects. Was even safe for birds.
Seems reptiles are unable to metabolize acetaminophen and it reacts with their blood causing a methemoglobinemia. This renders their blood unable to transport oxygen properly. It is said that they fall into a deep hypoxic sleep before expiring.
I have no idea. Only know what I read and will not attest to it. I do, however, have a respect for snakes. While they repulse me, I would never kill one. I just try to stay out of their way.
For 4 or 5 years I had a scratching, chewing, squirrel noise in the attic and ceiling over my bedroom. Kept me awake sometimes. I was worried about the electrical wiring, but eventually the squirrel noises went away. I was glad for that, but didn't know why until I sent a workman into the attic to check the wires last year and he came out with several long molted snake skins and a good report on the wires. I am thankful for the snakes and their help controlling of the squirrels, but I hope I never meet them.
