jan 26 2020
teh rail road crossing  emergerncy phone sign   has been verified by 5 people-- with no  one  coming up with a " negative" ... no sign... and 12 people
"i never knew that "   so point is  made... it is useless if no one knows about it/.

2 exciting bits of the day
#1  reese is in heat--- woowoowooooo  finALLY ! MOTHER OF TEH POOH'S- I WISH ALL YOU CAMERA PEOPLE WERE HERE TO REMIND ME WHO HER LAST HUSBAND WAS...  PAM SAYS WATSON???  COULD BE--- THOSE  POOH PUPS ARE LARGE....  WONDERFUL PUPS... BUT I DON'T WANT OUR BUNCH
TO KEEP GROWING IN SIZE... SO I THINK WATSON MAY BE OUT... TIGGER WOULD BE MY NEXT  CHOICE... THESE PUPS OF SIZZLES ARE NICE PUPS TOO.  BUT I NEED TO SEE THE PEDIGREES ON PAPER-- SHE  JUST HANDED ME MY HANDY DANDY CHART=== TIGGER'S MOM IS REESES... SO THAT IS OUT..ouR ONLY HOPE FOR COLOR TEHN WOULD BE A FIRST LITTER OF SIR RICHARD... WHO LAST TIME  COULD NOT GET HIS ACT TOGETHER... HOPEFULLY HE IS OLDER NOW AND MORE LECHEROUS. SO NEXT SUNDAY WOULD BE DAY 8 AND WE BETTER HAVE SIR RICHARD ON HAND...
------
i tried to watch dr pol last night, and they had another  vet show on-- there were 2 "episodes" which i thought went beyond teh fringe-- first was a cow== down for 24 hours in delivery-- obviously not going to make it... so they shot the cow and cut her open quickly and saved teh calf---  which may have been the correct thing to do, but not my choice for family  tv....  next was a chicken who had grown into the leg band which was put on as a chick...   very instructive in general- so cut the thing  off  and tell the tv audience everything will be fine... instead of  telling the owner they had to take the chicken to a specialist?   why??? a specialist  has sharper scissors??
then they got into trying to breed two hounds-- and tehy put them in a room- with a camera showing teh female wanted no part of the male-- snapping and biting immediately at him- as any unwilling female should do- so teh vet said they would have to muzzle and  hold her which they tried to do- at whihc point the male lost interest...and so did i... teh people involved had no  appreciation for the natural progression which we find works... one day  she says no ...  teh next she may say yes... for a day or two... and all of a sudden she  decides no again and wants to bite the male ... her choice.   she knows when she is fertile- and so do teh males.
you can do all teh expensive hormone studies you want and  try to predict teh unpredictable - we did absolutely every  test recommended by  both george-- and tehn a second time with teh artificial insemination expert in new england  in rhode island -  to try and impregnate opal with the frozen sperm from germany-- to no avail. .. it may work for some, but i  have never had an AI work, and never had a natural cover fail.

and then..CHEF'S FOR SENIORS...
what a terriffic  idea
a  bona fide  chef will come to your house trundlilng along his own set of pots and panbs and spices etc... having been to the supermarket and gathered alll the ingredients ( for which you pay separately) then prepare a bunch of meals --boxed for frige or freezer - clean up and leave.
a local donor knows what we ( personally) spend on pizza and chicken wings-- and has offered to  pay for a 2 week trial.
if it works as it might, it could be cheaper than the constant "turkey wrap with no hots"
so don't be shocked if next thrusday you see a white jacket cooking for us...  we alerady [picked out the meals-- 4 of tehm... 4 servings each  from his list of ??36 different dishes ( one beiong beef strogonoff.....)

the next one to test.......old wives tale of teh day--- all 3 colored cats are females....  can anyone verify that for us.?  black... brown... white  cats are females?????
++++++++}
Met Mike and Iggy for lunch today at a neighborhood deli near their home.  Apparently, they’ve eaten there a couple times and Iggy has won over the heart of the owner. Now there are people, friends and family of the owners, who want to know when The Great Dane will be back.  No kidding when I say the place was hopping when we got there. I felt like a groupie following a rock star!
