excitement of the day... heather has gone home//. scratchy throat and just a littlt temp...
and i got to watching the one hour
i got a newsletter from the ipswich council for the aging... and the first line "don't take anything you read as true... it was only true at the time of the printing."
i am told....
Basically if you pay your people for 8 weeks then you can get the government to cover rent, health insurance, retirement contributions and utilities up to the cap of 2.5x your monthly payroll.
thankfully we do have some "breathing room" because the chicken bricks are selling - and charlie's vet weekend challange
-- i was terrified. and i still suggest our staff not sign up for aweekend in bermuda
it gets very complicated as our group of animal care people was not officially told to stop work- tho most had to with concern of spreading to older folks at home
my only hope for the whole mess at this moment is testing for antibodies... i.e... who had it and will prob not get it again.
i honestly do not see how we can 100% avoid getting it.

Current situation and today’s entertainment— desensitizing Finn to balloons!
We decided to go sit in our car at a park for a little bit this morning just for a change of scenery before the next Birthday Car Parade! Eve is making a sign to hang on the car and Finn is spending some quality time with the ‘suspicious’ balloons! So far so good. When he lays down and relaxes with them I will consider it a win! But already he will move closer to them to get a treat which is a great step too!
We’ve been meaning to work on this for a long time but we rarely find it a major issue. He can always work through it But they do un nerve him so better to rectify it so that it’s not an issue if either one is caught off guard.

When my husband (electrical engineer) goes on furlough it’s working without pay. His company has weathered a lot of the dips in the economy where other tech and engineering firms have gone under because of their business model. Instead of laying people off or doing massive pay cuts, there have been about 3 weeks over his 20 years with the company where he’s worked for one week without pay. We were smart enough to be saving, so we made it through just fine, and so did the company. We suspect there will be another furlough coming in the near future since folks aren’t building cars right now (most of their sensors are for the automotive industry), but we will cross that bridge when we come to it.
THANK YOU FOR KEEPING THE DD GOING. I ENJOY READING IT EACH MORNING. MAKES ME FEEL CONNECTED TO SDP. PRAYERS AND GOOD THOUGHTS FOR ALL!
FOREVER GRATEFUL,
