our big draftt mule "mo" - does not like goats but will tolorate donkeys- horses are initially terrified of donkeys but get to accept them and even like being with them.. the 5 goats janine bought at the auction which she thought might be pregnant.... turned out that was not a udder between thier hind legs- so they have had that male appendage removed-- leaving themTO LIVE IN OUR "BACK BARN" AS cute nice pets which are great for children to walk on her strange donkey walk sundays.-add to that a few OF HER horses--- 2 huge BEAUTIFUL rideable IN "THE HUNT" , plus several invalids in healing process,2 spotted toatlly unknown- just arrived from the"sales" in penna with 3 tiny-- things i would call ponies, but apparently they are tiny horses.. 2 of them are "buddies" not to be separateed.
now.... CONSIDER THE REAL ESTATE...there are 4 "places" for any combination of these beasts-- two of the ?FARMS? would have to quaLIFY AS 2 OF THE NICER PIECES IN ALL OF NEW ENGLAND---- THEN HER PLACE 3 ACRES WITH SMALL BARN AND FENCNG THEN OUR .... MAYBE 3 ACRES OF TEH 12 CRAZY ACRES DEVOTED TO HOOVED ANIMALS,(THE 8 ACRES DEVOTED TO DOGS .. PLUS ONE ACRE OF POND/ L GROWING BIGGER BY THE DAY THANKS TO THE BEAVERS.)
EVERY ANIMAL IS WELL CARED FOR AT THE MOMENT... BUT THERE ARE PARTS THAT NEED ADDRESSING. WATER IS HEAVY...
FIRSTLY... WATER... BOTH BIG ESTATES HAVE CONVENIENT WATER SUPPLY WITH UNDERGROUND "GATE VALVES?" WHERE A HANDLE AT GROUND LEVEL TURNS TEH WATER ON AND OFF 4 FEET UNDERGROIUND.. THEREFOR OFTEN CALLED FROST FREE... CRAZY ACRE DOES NOT HAVE THAT LUXURY IN "REAR BARN" WHICH IS WHERE THE 5 NEUTERED GOATS LIVE...-- THEY DON'T DRINK ALOT OF WATER... = MAYBE 2 OF THE USUAL 5 GALLON PAILS PER DAY WHICH HAS TO BE HAND CARRIED TEH 80 FEET OF TEH ARENA ---FROM OUR ONE GATE VALVE IN THE "FEED ROOM"
OUR HERD OF DONKEYS +MO IS EASILY WATERED OFF TEH ICU BUILDING TO A STOCK TANK EASILY MAINTAINED.
WE NEED TO MOVE TEH 5 NEUTERED GOATS TO BE PART OF OUR COLLETKION OF DONKEYS,,, EXCEPT..... MO..... .SHE DOES NOT LIKE THE GOATS SHE WEIGHS ?1800 POUNDS AND DRINKS ALOT OF WATER.. SO TO SWAP HER FOR TEH 5 GOATS WOULD MEAN CARRYING EVEN MORE WATER TEH LEGNTH OF THE ARENA'S 80 FEET...
SO...MO NEEDS TO BE MOVED TO THE COLLECTION OF LARGE HORSES WHO LIVE WHERE THERE IS EASIER ACCESS TO WATER..

AND WE WILL-----EXCEPT --- WE NEED TO DROP OFF MY TOYOTA AT THE DEALER TO GET WHATEVER IS DRAGGING TO BE ATTACHED. JUST IN CASE JANINE NEEDS IT TOI TAKE IT TO PENNA FOR A "LAST LOAD" BEFORE SHE STARTS HER NEW JOB.

I wanted to send a quick note and some pictures of Harry. He is turning 8 next mth. I can’t believe how time has flown by. Every moment with this boy has been and continues to be a gift. I feel like we now so comfortably know each other that I can’t remember what it was like before he came into my world. He is stunningly handsome and loves to play, run, and cuddle. He is a master at snapping sticks for kindling. Ever the hard worker. He is a master napper as well. He loves having his feet rubbed when he is falling asleep and it is adorable. He is holding out for some big snow storms still because snow zoomies are his favorite! I am including some pictures of my handsome boy. Take care, Harry and Beth
