georgetown fire dept got a key lime pie  for cake day-- ok  so we are  "cake-ing"  ?49 states???   which ones are we not in and can we get some action going there... ???
now here is a real party... napkins and paper plates even !!!

Tacoma Fire Department, Station 13, received the
SDP informational flyer, paper plates, napkins and
a yummy chocolate cake decorated with paw prints--
and  their department logo.  And in return I received
huge smiles and a big thank you. Cake Day is even
better than payday!

from the raft of first responders.....i picked the fire depqrtment-- because... usually..they are a nice group of people who- after they get everuthing polished- and nothing is burning down, they have time  to eat cake... i also have found that the fire departments are a great source of big strong  fit , cheerful guys who when they are off duty, can lift , carry, and push  heavy objects around,  and cheaper than hiring handymen ( who around here are getting $85 an hour)-

- i have in my life called and said "i have a case of beer here for whoever gets that mattress into  the second floor bedroom."  . couple guys showed up at shift change....

i think you will find it true  that shirt sizes for policemen will range all the way to  XXXXL to cover  an expanse of beer belly.  shirts for firemen/women just are not made that big.  they are not needed.. in spite of all the cake we feed them.

that is one of thse laws i would pass....police uniforms may not be manufactured larger than XXL.
a 2X  size guy is substantial enough to quell most disturbances that do not require the national guard...  ... i know if i have 2 or 3 policemen- size 2X  in my living  room, it is pretty full.  and they are always very nice. ---- they have  proceedires-- like to say "have a good day" as they hand you a  speeding ticket.

they are nice also because  i have been trained to do whatever they say and argure about it later... i was told that as a very young child.... "if a policeman says stop... you stop"  and i gave my kids that same lecture. it is a critical part of anyone's education --- person or dog.

a story......teh "ultimate whoa" - we had one in a assisted living place just last week... they wanted dogs to go around to all the rooms-- which is more walking than i can do..  they said there were no other dogs in gtehr building...so judy and janine took bentley and sizzle without leash  off behind closed doors... and i sat in the lobby--  first time in my current life i have been anywhere minus a dog...let alone an assisted living.-   so when the director came by and asked if i needed an application, i was horrified...i got over that.. and thru the door came a saint bernard young dog.. with "gentle leader and spike collar just about controlling  him...i knew  bentley and sizzle were about to come thr the doors... loose...  so i flew to put myself between that saint bernard and  those doors... just as they opened.. i yelled "WHOA RIGHT THERE"  sizzle stopped-- bentley got stopped -- and judy and janine froze too...  we could have had  the worlds biggest dog fight.
that ultimate whoa can be so critical...

now before you lecture me on no leash-- when we do these places there are many suffering from altzeimers- and those people tend to grab and hold-- because  those 2 dogs have t hat ultimate WHOA, they are safer without something others can grab...
