Subject: dd 2 5

now... about the pumping of gas for handicapped at 80 cents a gallon more than the advertised price...  i have tried very hard to contact shell about this gas station-- i have notified tehm before... but i can not remember how i got hold of them-- snd sitting on their customer service line is  not something i want to do for hours on end....  they were to call me back in 4 days...
i ain't heard nuthin from shell..  kind of makes me mad...  somebody made the decision not to return  my complaint call.

and then --- one of the CP's suggested i contact the ADA-- having a few minutes before mail call.... i called  the ADA.. and had no waiting time... i briefly explained my findings- they are going to "send me a form"
i am not sure where this will go... but the station is still charging the extra 80 cents
just for demo purposes ,i will try and  get some gas today. i need a reciept withthe 80 cent diff.

could be shell called them and it could be straightened out... but for an extra 80 cents per gallon, i bet the they won't rush.
----
at this age practically anything i do reminds me of a story-- gas stations overcharging... our family once owned a gas station across from  IONA college.. and hiring the college kids to pump gas was the normal thing to do.... it was a long time ago...gas prices were cheaper and when the gas pumps had a rotating dial to calcualte the price... one of teh attendants  got a bunch of peal on numbers and increased the  dollar  numbers by one  so a  sale of 23.69 read  24.69 and he made an extra dollar every time he pumped gas.   when his shift was over , he pealed his numbers off.

another gas station true story..
long ago gas stations dumped their excess old oil in storm drains. this became illegal so we had to hire some COMPANY  to remove the old oil--  so we hAD A COMPANY PICK IT UP... WHICH THEY DID, AND PROMPTLY DUMPED IT IN THE SAME STORM DRAIN AS BEFORE.  TOOK A WHILE TO STOP  THAT TOO.

ISHANTI POSTED THIS ON FACEBOOK AND ASKED ME TO SEND IT TO YOU:

IT'S OUR ANNIVERSARY, KAYDET!

THREE YEARS AGO TODAY, KAYDET CAME STRAIGHT TO ME IN THE GUEST HOUSE AT SERVICE DOG PROJECT TO TELL ME I WAS TAKING HER HOME. INSTANT JOY! OH, THE MEMORIES OF OUR PATH TO NOW! IT WASN'T ALWAYS EASY. FOR ME MORE THAN KAYDET, I'M SURE. BUT WE LEARNED FROM EACH OTHER.

KAYDET: YOU'RE GONNA BE MY MOMMY NOW.

ME: I CAN'T WAIT! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH ALREADY! BUT I DON'T WALK VERY WELL.
KAYDET: I KNOW. IT'S MY JOB TO HELP YOU. WALK WITH ME. HOLD ON TO ME. LEAN ON ME IF YOU NEED TO. AND I'LL LEAN RIGHT BACK UP AGAINST YOU.
ME: WHAT IF I FALL?
KAYDET: I'LL HELP YOU GET BACK UP.

WE BONDED VERY QUICKLY THAT WEEK, AND WHEN HER WONDERFUL TRAINERS DROPPED US OFF AT THE AIRPORT, WE WERE ON OUR OWN.

ME: THIS PLACE MAKES ME KIND OF ANXIOUS. EVERYONE WILL STARE AT US BECAUSE I WALK FUNNY AT TIMES.
KAYDET: I'LL MASK YOUR WALKING BY DISTRACTING THEM WITH MY PRESENCE. YOU'LL BE SAFE.
ME: THANKS, DET!
KAYDET: WE'LL GET THROUGH TOGETHER.
AND WE DID. I CARE FOR THIS BIG, BEAUTIFUL DOG MORE THAN ANYTHING. SO MUCH, THAT SHE TAUGHT ME HOW TO CARE FOR MYSELF AGAIN. SHE ALWAYS KNOWS WHAT TO DO TO PULL ME OUT OF MY FUNK. KAYDET GUIDES ME EVERY DAY. SHE SETS THE PACE. AND I DON'T MIND BECAUSE BEFORE HER, I WASN'T DOING TOO WELL. I'M IN GOOD PAWS. SHE'S ALWAYS GOT HER EYES ON ME, WATCHING MY BACK.

ME: I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE THIS HOUSE.

KAYDET: WELL...WE HAVE TO BECAUSE I NEED TO POTTY. LET'S GOOOOO!!!!
ME: FINE. SINCE WE'RE OUT, WE MIGHT AS WELL GO FOR A WALK.
KAYDET: 😊

HOW DID CARLENE KNOW THAT KAYDET WAS JUST WHAT I NEEDED? SHE GIFTED ME THIS DOG AND I IMPROVED ALL AROUND. I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL TO EVERYONE THAT HELPED MAKE OUR UNION POSSIBLE. KAYDET IS MY WHOLE HEART. THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF IT!

i will tell you how carlene does it..... she relies  heavily on megan... and goldie ( our ghost of the left hand drawer...)
