i found teh email address to the woman who owned MR ADAMS -- who sired thumper- in 2000 - who is teh foundation of our "tree" of service dogs... ' i started to count the number of service dogs he is related to and got over 100 before i quit...-- between his offspring and a nice check from a horse friend... we were on solid ground.... almost...
mr adams was also my first real lesson in "i said NOT NOW"... mr adams lived in conn... and i had to make 3 trips there before i learned i was not a good judge of what was a red.. and what was a salmon colored discharge... i can remember bitsy ( MR ADAM'S INTENDED) RUNNING UP AND OVER THE BACK OF A COUCH followed by 170 pound HIM .... BEFORE SHE WOULD EVEN CONSIDER MOTHERHOOD....--- TYPICALLY HE WAS NOT DISCOURAGED--
SO THERE WAS A "???NOW???... GET LOST....OH PLEASE IT IS A 4 HOUR DRIVE... " SEQUENCE FOR 2 TRIPS BEFORE THERE WAS A . !FINALLY!
THIS WAS IN THE BEGINNING.... AND GEORGE ( DVM) TOLD ME HE COULD USe A MICROSCOPE TO TELL WHEN TO DRIVE TO CONN.... AND... THERE IS A blood tst THAT IS USUally correct.. but as life went on i found that any male dog's nose was the only 100% unfailing--
A NOSE BEATS A MICROSCOPE--- IN NOT ONLY THE REPRODUCTION BUSINESS... BUT NOW CANCER-- EPLIEPSY...DIABETES AND PROBABLY A WHOLE BUNCH OF THINGS WE HAVE NOT LEARNED TO LEARN FROM OUR DOGS.

re:Mr Adams
Many thanks for this, he was a superb dog and family member. He also sired our last litter (frozen semen) and we have Morwenna, in the picture. I think she is probably the last of his line. As you can see, she has inherited his stature and colouring, although given where we live, she has to wear a lifejacket when on the dock. We have a great interest in Service Dogs, and believe that Great Danes are perfect for it. Morwenna is now nearly 6 years old, but we run a Bed and Breakfast here, and so she has an extended family of over 2000 people. Her sisters are also great examples of gentle, courteous Great Danes and great ambassadors of the breed. Both their “owners” still had their leads and collars that they got from us from nearly 30 years ago, and they have become great companions to them from Great Danes that come from this blood line.
It was such a great pleasure to see that the majesty, structure and intelligence is still attainable
Many thanks for reaching out to me
