my world is changing--- monday is no longer earlene and now tuesday sheila has deserted the ship -- and this thursday steve is having a root canal.. i am nearly panicked.....
nearly....
steve is the only one i know of who managed to fall asleep during a root canal... without drugs !!!
paperwork is in pretty good shape due to linda-- she is goooood.
she wrote all the letters that had piled up during dogfest. i signed and stamped them all.... now if megan can get the bag to the post office on some training mission...
bills are all paid ... and prayers are requested for the chicken brick wall...
statistics?? during the time around dogfest-- when i piled the letters of inquiry-- we had 19 requests
for dogs.. 9 of which the board felt could not be something we could serve- most got referred to another ADI training facility --- and the other 10 got sent the application form and a suggestion that they plan to come here on some sunday stew if they can...
i hope opal is pregnant...... and i know everyone is saying no more than 6 but we need pups...
we don't get to regulate the process...

sounds like an odd connection... but bud managed to get the storage rack on the back of my car... because....
i may have to go into Boston to the attny general's office- and there is no way i can stand around and wait for an elevator more than 30 seconds... it is just not possible without hardware... my usual shopping cart support would be fine-- but somehow think it would be out of place in those office buildings,.. my next resort is an antique worlds fair cane thing which the handle opens into a seat... --- the next resort is that electric scooter/wheelchair that lives in the t t ent......hence the rack on my car.
the reason for the trip to the attny generals office is .... last time i had any problem with them, they were most helpful ( and loved the dog i had with me... thumper).. i have til nov 15th to solve the audit problem and so far all the cpa's i have called have given up the non profit audit as too big a pain in the neck...
orca's are out for the morning... these are the most personable pups !! especially "tiny"
*****
i had suggested to william huber( calendar photographer) that we do a shot with the 11 crumbs sitting with me around the fireplace--- and i could have done that... but he was busy and put it off for a month-- now kitty mentioned it -- and i laughed... now you could not fit all 11 in the living room--all we can do now is the 4 orcas... and we better hurry they grew 3 pounds last week.... and are into that growth spurt...

the freezer is freezing....
fyi apparently restaurant type freezers are required to keep the temp at 10 below Fahrenheit -- that is the kind of cold where your hand sticks to metal... and heaven forbid... you can not even chip ice cream...
he also made note that it was possible to have the unit be a refrigerator... there are 2 "zones" freezing is -10 to -40 and the other 32 to 40 for refrig.

IT'S REALLY OVER...
TINA
and i have attached her file.. i would say it was a huge success---and we have already addressed the major problem... heat... by moving it back another week or two.
people who did not like lobster did not think we should bother... except this is new england... plus the company has said they would send someone to cook the chicken on site next year... ( the alternate meal---chicken--- was.... just short of pathetic and they refunded the money...)
*****
BBQ chicken reminds me......
that huge horse event i worked on for years.. groton house horse event... over at winthrop's.....it does google...
the woman who donated our freezer also worked on it and one year she was responsible for preboiling 200 chickens for the BBQ person to pour red stuff on and make look lovely-- because ... i can see her to this day coming down the driveway with some of her barn help carrying see thru garbage bags of 200 boiled chickens.
200 boiled chickens without red sauce are a gray/tan strange looking... to say the least.

it was a big deal and still is...-- 3 of us started it as a little event for pony club-- and 4 years later it was totally out of control with circus size tents for stabling 500 horses over 2 weekends.
many funny stories... many.. like ann ( winthorp) and i taking an emt course so we did not have to hire emts-- ( eventually we had to hire 2 ambulances.. it got so big...) back then we put together a stretcher out of a slice off the tent flaps....
and heat..... it is ( still) last weekend of june first of july... -- we had some massive cooling off of horses to do...we needed quantites of ice....so i went to gloucester where i knew the ships get ice for their fish..... backed in my - 2 ton pick up and the man asked how much-- i did not have a clue so i said 2 tons. he pulled a lever...
2 tons of ice is enough to bury a 2 ton pick up... which it did... but i slithered out and 10 miles down the highway and got back with enough ice to deal with hot horses, plus soda and wine.....
many funny stories.. at least funny now...
