i learn something new every day.. intentionally or unintentionally  which always starts my head going..."who decided that?"  or just plain "why?"-----   when i was young.........just a few years ago.... life changed every year with the end of summer... which was Labor Day . which was on a Monday and gave everybody a long weekend after which you started school.... nowadays Labor Day is still the first Monday of September but somebody decided to start school a week or so ahead of that which upsets my whole internal calendar... and investigating that in the process of trying to put together a calendar for service dog project I just happened to click on the school calendar for Ipswich children... the debate being   what holidays--- if any ---do we put on a calendar and I find that not only are they starting school  before Labor Day but they've done their best to screw up the end of summer in general because in Ipswich at any rate the first day of school will be on a Wednesday sept first...---Thursday they will have early release ----Friday there'll be no school-  Saturday and Sunday of course no school then Monday the holiday because it's Labor Day  and they're back at school again on Tuesday.... can anyone tell me why they don't just leave it the day after Labor instead of having them come in on Wednesday for 1/2 day on Thursday and then four days or before they have to come back again..

in studying that calendar I found things like professional enrichment days  ... and I never knew that they all got out of school early on Thursdays all the time I don't know whether that's true all over but it is  true in Ipswich. this is to provide for the 181 school days and they're planning on five snow days.

after reading all that I decided that if we do get this calendar together we're not gonna put any days on or there wouldn't be any room to write anything about dentist appointments

I had decided long ago that the calendar would be put together by the middle of August that's not working although we've made great strides and kathy's got a bunch of stuff we only have two days to make it and somehow I don't think we're gonna make that deadline.

 

I suppose the next deadline head for is dogfest the middle. of September.. we might make that and still give the printer and everybody else time to get it finished before Thanksgiving so you can all buy a calendar to give to people at Christmas

other than that------- the poo report on Pete is the category of soft mounds,,, soft mounds and no blood.. this is great progress he's on so many medications it's amazing there's room for food however it does seem to be working... when you figure that he started with a bloody stool that you could hear before you saw it he has made great progress

being on the farm, the size sound shape color and consistency of the various. Poos. made by the various animals becomes a very necessary part of daily life as it is a quick indication of problems past and future.. so sometimes the best thing in the morning I can hear is someone who says------ cylinders.!!!!...
