I turned my computer off and on again because it was being obstreperous and refusing to save something I just worked on which is very upsetting and now it has a whole bunch of new ideas many of which seem to be what my computer is going to tell the world like where it is and then it will tell me who asked to look at my computer if I only knew which button to push about security systems..
and whether I want the computer to be able to listen with the microphone or watch me with a camera//
I cannot imagine why anyone would want to watch. I pretty much live in a world about 12 foot by 12 foot which contains , computer desk my TV, a chair for sitting a bed for lying the contents of a rather extensive monkey fist hobby business whatever it is --washer dryer, Extra mattress for the dogs because there's usually 3 large £150 great Danes sleeping in here with me. it's tight. But of late it's also become my training room --- Because if I am to be called a trainer, my dogs better be better behaved. actually I have three dogs-- and two of them are pretty good-- there is one who's inclined to be more creative than I think a perfectly trained dog ought to be. guess who...
My friend lockie .... So at the nursing homes the other day It was a simple chore Judy would take the frying pan down to the other end of the room drop a cookie in it and one dog was supposed to go when told to.....get it eat the cookie then come back and lie down again.. we had several variations sizzle was no Angel.. she'd go down and eat the cookie smile at everybody.. and then return to me and stand there and look at me and say "do I have to lie down?" well no she didn't but she had to stay where she was she would not wander around. And then there was ----Germany===jiminy would zip around and do what he was asked to do and then return to me because they really didn't wanna be with all those strangers anyway and lie down at my feet.. but.....then there was larcky.. He would run to the frying pan eat the cookie.. then clearly say to Judy is that all??? then maybe turn reluctantly and ask everybody else on the way back if they might have some morsel of food for poor starving larkey.... eventually getting back to me and putting his front end down and leaving his rear end in the air just in case he wanted to make a quick exit for the next cookie job.. it just wasn't quite as polished as it should be.. and even in my 12 by 12 room. there is plenty of room to practice come lie down get up and go away... as long as I get the other two out... because you can't train a dog that's super at locating a distraction.. that's where the comment achieved boredom comes in play.
Well.. A certain amount of it is my fault.. allow me 2 analyze the jiminy get the basket project. way back at the beginning it was tough to get him to realize. the project involved picking up that basket in his mouth and bring it to me.. and when he finally did and dropped it in front of me I praised him heartily for having done that.. but if you sat back and watched what I had praised him for was dropping the basket.. now that he's got that in his head we have a whole other problem trying to get him to keep the basket in his mouth.. I see many people do much the same thing Where they're praising the dog for the entire Bringing you the basket.. when in the dogs mind it's definitely four different things of going to the basket picking it up carrying it to you and dropping it--- So if you're not very careful you've just praised the dog for dropping it which can get complicated.
I think the only way I can cure this.. is to spend a few minutes teaching him. When to drop it -- When in his mind he always got praised for dropping it... So the goal will be to have Germany carry the basket around and be told when to drop it.. As for larkey my goal for him will be to lie down and stand up when told to do so.. and all of this training can actually take place in the air conditioned comfort of my 12 by 12.... well maybe 12 by 14..
Because of sizzles age, I will allow her to ask “ why should I?” sometimes she has a reason.... like the floor is cold. but she must allow me to override that when necessary.
todays picture is of 2 wonderful service dogs---- and smiling recipients....it also demonstrates the 2 different "kinds of danes".... on the left you have the sizzle type.. slightly streamlined... on the right you have the
heavy duty. 4 wheeled drive type.. when breeding for one specific type--- you can have both types in one litter.. which ruins all the. plans of mice or men.
