YEAR END CONCEPTS...I AM A LIVING GARAGE SALE-- I HAVE MORE "STUFF" A GREAT DEAL HAS SURVED IT'S PURPOSE- BUT HAVING ONCE BEEN USEFUL OR DESIREABLE IS NOW OF QUESTIONABLE INTEREST. PERFECT EXAmple-- i once thought a paymaster checkwriter would be a better, more reliable way to write checks. it did enable me to find "an old guy" in ohio who had worked for checkwriter , and knew all about it so he could help me get it running perfectly.. he was a character-- but now he is nearly forgotten and teh checkwriter sits with it's plastic cover in a "way back area"
from coffee pot to the front door, there is a surveying "chain" which was used by a great grandfather in westchester county ny. who would want that with it's strange links and tabs...?
the shift to the current contraptions spans a lifetime. i understand the chain- and it's use. however.....there was a small beeeeep so i turned on my cell phone-which for the last 10 minutes has shown a hand moving in a figure 8. telling me to move away from any electronic device so it can tell which way is north.
this is progress? isn't there green stuff on the north side of trees...? why do we need this miracle of modern engineering to tell us which way is north. why in modern life do we give a rip which way north is anyway?
kids have maybe seen a globe, but hardly anyone has seen a map-- remember those things you got from the gas station for 10 cents that unfolded into about 9 square feet of colored description of 4 states??? if siri gets laryngitis these kids would never find rhode island- or the way out of texas...

having watched workmen all my life, i noticed that if i had the right tools , i could do 90% of what i was hiring someone else to do.-- ultimately it was cheaper to buy some tools and do it myself even if i lost or never used them again- at least i didn't have to wait for a repair person to arrive.
that concept explains alot around here. i can not tell you how many crow bars and fence mending tools i have bought since i moved to this property in 1979-- crow bars and fence menders- along with hammers, pliers and the like... are immediately invisable in even 3 inches of grass... and yes i do have metal detectors- now i am minus the legs to make them work.

i have not heard any more about annie-- her brother and 2 friends have been alerted...and teh hospital will tell me no more.. how bad is this hyppa stuff?? i sent in a piece of paper with big print ANNIE TELL THE HOSPITAL IT IS OK TO TALK TO THE DOG PEOPLE-
AND THE DOCTOR TOLD VANESSA THEY WOULD NOT DO THAT TIL THEY WERE SURE SHE WAS 100% SURE SHE COULD SAFELY MAKE THTAT DECISION.
SO WE ARE OUT OF THE LOOP.
