"if you need "labor " type help all you have to do is to drive to home depot early morn and there are guys lined up for work"...
wellllllll. there were none there at 5:15 today--- i had to take gwen to the 5am  logan express bus and just to be curious..... decided to driveby home depot and see what was happening...   NOTHING
maybe 5:15 was too early.. but i would think there might be a few early birds....  nothing.
so that needs further verification....
----
rest of today report...
i am told wallace will attempt to ride "the mare" at 3pm today in the newly surfaced arena...  that is if masterson is not in the way with a big tractor putting down more stone dust..
"the mare" is a dutch harness horse apparently been driven to a carriage in penna country-- she shows signs of many miles ( swollen joints and a few sores...) she has never been ridden-- so janine was told.... ( woowowowowoooooo. might be a bucking bronco- wouldn't that be fun??) wallace is a professional bull rider and has not yet fallen off anything that ERN. has bought in the auction---

the auction is a place people take horses they can no longer afford to feed ( sometimes lovely pets) or horses no one has been able to ride without getting bucked off---- janine used to ride those herself.. but decided her bones were no longer as willing and she met wallACE--apparently the son of the guys from brazil who are building the lovely fence around meridith farm... he easily found  a nearly full time employment getting  on any and all horses that might need to be ridden by someone who does not come off. besides .. he is very helpful and cooperative-- if you are unloading hay, he will not say a word but just fall in line and lift and toss.
............
yesterdays "load" of 72 bales  at 40 pounds a bale-- about 3000 pounds of hay were unloaded at meridith. by gwen and janine... in 27 minutes on the way to pick up take out food. that was 1500 pounds per person........ or about 3/4 a ton each lifted stored and floor swept.. before  p/u chicken marsella from the 444 restaurant...to have karen and i pick it up saved $5.oo per bale ($360 savings -- but who's counting? ... me)that may be  a week's worth for meridith....-- esp with the 2 black horses moved to crazy acres.... ( where i am told there are 151 bales in the hay loft.)

if time is the only true cuurrency---- hay is the currency of the horse owner....
