| SPLITTING PUPPIES UP... WORKING TOWARD OVERNIGHT IN THE BARN AND HOUSE WITH ONLY ONE OVERNIGHT PERSON... CAMERAS MAKE IT POSSIBLE... AGREEABLY POSSIBLE....SAVES MY NERVES IF I CAN WATCH THEM TOO. THANKFULLY WE HAVE BEEN Able to MAkE 3 KENNELS PUPPY PROOF FOR GROUPS OF 4 -- with 2 of them pretty good overnight cameras..... 2020 10 19 Our cake day project has Has suffered badly with CLV so I think I'm going to have to consider it on hold at least for us if you can still do it great I'm sure the fireman would appreciate cake ..... in the meantime hours puppy splitting up project is in full gear 15 puppies weighing probably over 40 pounds now was getting to be a bit much to transport around and feed all at once they were getting too wide for the width of the bowls they're eating out of .. so we are moving to is not Plan B it was always there .. time to act like big dogs so we have split them into 4 4 4 and three . the three being ...at least at the moment ... larlarkey male harl Eva black and see see black with white... that means that during the day four will go in kennel 10 on camera ----four will go in kennel 9 which almost shows on camera -----and four will go in 11 which will show very nicely the arena camera---- as long as it's twisted sideways over overnight or whatever . Those three groups of four could easily be fed in the arena on camera as we now have the side doors of the arena much more usable ... And I'm going to try and get their feeding table for eight puppies done today -------then the plan is to run four at a time loose behind Judy or Stacy or Pam or any of the puppy people who can jog------- then as you bring them up at night you bring up 4 -Cindy feeds them here in the yard or in b---while they go back for the second group of four when Cindy has them in what's called the car lot hillside for pooping purposes wHILE SOMEBOdy goes and gets the third group and jogs up with them to be fed and shuffled into the car lot .. after the pooping procedure 8 of them come in the front door and are shuffled to the condo which gives them in out access to the deck and quite a bit of sleeping room comfortably heated .. four remained in the nut house .. which is heated and is "in.. out" can be checked on hourly by the overnight person and as literally 12 feet from my head .. The remaining 3 are in the kitchen area with gate up which I'm not sure I like .. but we do feel some logic in separating chaos who really doesn't like puppies all that well .. so sometimes she will end up in the sunroom with my bank gate shUT at which time the puppies can be loose in the whole Mail call area .. I have started CC on the yuppy puppy .. and it is easier to deal with one pup at a time .. hopefully today I could get my act together enough to maybe start the Figure 8 leash training . somewhere in there I should remind Gemini about carrying a basket but there are days when my outside chores get me pretty tired . camera wise at night you should have eight in the condo ---three in the kitchen someplace .---. and during the day the puppy camera Kendall 10 and the arena camera on kennel 11 .. All of that can change at any minute and sometimes I don't get a chance to explain exactly why but right now that seems to be the best way to go for both us and the dogs----- It sounds so simple to just run four dogs at once between the barn and the house but just before we start we have to find out what dogs are lose Germany is bad he likes to knock him over .. what cars are where and are there mufflers hot .. is the gate shut to more traffic .. and who is running around in the golf cart driving too fast anyway . then we have to have one person jogging in front for them to follow and we also have to have one person bringing up the rear for in case there's a straggler .. and often there seems to be BIANCA that female with a spot on her back was noticed this week ... we had a person who said they are a akc Great Dane judge. I've been always curious as to how are dogs compare to what's being shown in the show world .. not that that would influence me much but it would be interesting .. after sitting around watching the puppies on puppy Hill the two dogs they picked out as absolutely perfect was the one the female with a dot on her back BIANE and lthe male merle TURBY TURBULANCE .... that's interesting because those are two dogs I thought of saving as breed dogs.. Particularly that Merle is a lovely dog but that would give Me 2 merles chimney and him matched pair .. The female with the dot on her back , I liked but I think she's going to be a very big dog ... and I think for breeding purposes for service dogs these huge honkers are a bit more than necessary . Besides the only other female Eva is very personable and unfortunately jet black not my favorite ... but we do have several mixed color MALES to breed with her -------- may and Grommet as HER parents means that lyns harl ' Watson " - Denmark.... or... if he ever gets going sir richard the Czech dog would be available as sires to give us some color... so we can tell them apargt...... TRAINING 101 the Figure 8 leash training is critical and in my way of thinking has to be started with the dogs rear end pretty close to the corner of a room because when you first put on the restriction of a leash 99 out of 100 dogs will get all excited and try and jump backwards to get away from it ...now if the dogs rear end is already in the corner of a room it cannot back away from you .. if it's not in the corner of the room you end up getting dragged by the dog as it chokingly gags backwards .. which from the dog standpoint looks like you're chasing it while it's gagging not something you want to impress on the dog .. so will the rear end in the corner you know it may take 15 minutes to kind of explain to the dog that a little tug and tightening around its neck and belly means to go with the rope not fight it . OK SO 15 Puppies times 15 minutes it is 225 minutes which is three hourS 45 minutes of sitting cross legged on the floor talking to puppies . if I attempt that too many times a day you'll have to get a crate in here to get me back on my feet so I can only start . and starting with maze puppies means that they will be one week older then sizzles pops .. so it looks like I should start with Eva . I will try and stay on camera somewhere and hopefully have no disasters which is always possible . |
