just when you think you have heard it all..... there exists a you tube of a person skipping rope to classical music.. her talent os easily of olympic quality... i willtry and attach it "how to use a skipping rope...."

I remember I had a pretty good collection of neighborhood kids back in the 70s who started trying to learn to juggle and by the end of the summer were pretty good at it and that developed into our neighborhood circus which Janine wrote about in her book” dogs donkeys and circus performers .” . mind you the funny book is still on sale at Amazon------ the first day of summer when there was no school we had flag raising ceremony at 7:00 AM or was it 9 ? -- whatever .. where 7 or 8 kids would show up and line up we raised the flag say the Pledge of Allegiance and then go do the barn work and try and get our various animals to do odd things so that by we got by the time we got to August we had a pretty good dog and pony show ---- the highlight of which ,to me, was 4 kids sitting on one horse when he put his front feet on a box and the slippery clown suits that we had cause the kids to slide off his rear end ..
the rest of the story about the clown suits was that GWEn was in charge of sewing them and Janine , quite a bit younger, was a charge of sitting on the floor working the treadle of an old singer sewing Machine ..and gwen yelling “faster Janine” ----- being the youngest in the group Janine always inherited peculiar jobs like being the--- on off --- person at the business end of the hose while they watered the horses in the barn and there were about 10 horses or so I don't remember IT WAS a bunch .
We did that circus for a couple years and involved some very strange things like the baby pig I bought for about $7.00 in June which became a permanent 500# pet who chased my husband around the yard for years. ------ and my hockey friend Wayne Cashman donated one skate-- his left skate --- which we auctioned off and I think made about $1000 on it which we donated to project hope the hospital ship .. And you see how that has now developed in the service dog project at Wayne gretzky's number 99 shirt .. I haven't progressed too far .
These seven or eight kids ended up with talents once thought impossible like stillt walking -- and things required more creativity than money . Granted we had a horse or pony to play with .. but then again I have always had horse or pony plus a lot of dogs and a few other animals – rescues… nothing fancy…ACTUALLY MY KIDS HORSES WERE PURCHASED BY THE POUND.. FROM A LOCAL DEALER IN “KILLER HORSES” ( AND NOW JANINE RUNS AN EQUINE RESCUE NETWORK WITH HORSES BOUGHT BY THE POUND FROM THE SLAUGHTER PENS IN PENNA… SHE HAS NOT GOT TOO FAR EITHER..)
FROM THE TOP DOWN… WHAT I HAD BEFORE AND NOW… IS LAND.. --- ROOM… THEN AND NOW… ABOUT 12 ACRES.. AND A BARN.. WHICH PROVIDED ROOM TO HAVE A FREE ROAMING NASTY ROOSTER WHO CHASED CHILDREN AND TAUGHT THEM RESPECT. ALL THOSE KIDS KNEW IT WAS POINTLESS TO RUN TO ME CRYING BECAUSE THE ROOSTER BIT THEM. AND THERE WAS NO DEPARTMENT OF CHILDRENS SERVICES TO TELL ME THAT I SHOULD NOT ALLOW THE ROOSTER TO BITE KIDS.. NOR WERE THERE PARENTS WHO WOULD THINK OF SUEING ME. THAT 7 POUND ROOSTER DID AS MUCH FOR THEIR EDUCATION AS THE $90,000 COLLEGE TUITION BILL .
IN MY OPINION…. IT WAS HAVING THE LAND .. THAT PROVIDED THE POSSIBILITIES.. I LEARNED WHEN BUYING “A PLACE TO LIVE” … YOU WERE BUYING THE LAND… BECAUSE THE #$%^&* HOUSE COULD BURN TO THE GROUND- WHICH IT DID….. AND IF YOU STILL HAD LAND… YOU COULD FIGURE OUT THE REST.

if the truth be known, I think animals were my parentS way of dealing with a child with adhd ..all these animals required constant daily attention…causing me to expend more energy than was convenient for4 my parents TO DEAL WITH OTHER WISE…. … Even the horse or pony I had as a kid was not anything like a fancy show pony because I didn't even have a saddle .. my father thought saddles were too dangerous for kids he also had a very strong opinion about anyone’ S Sanity to try to have a horse jump over anything … I've continued that concept well into 80 years as I watched people, not to mention my daughter, think it's great fun to go galloping over things like stone walls but I honestly think she's winding down from that .

TOO MANY PEOPLE WITH OUT ENOUGH WAYS TO EXPEND ENERGY NOW PRESENTS A WORLD WIDE DISASTER.. IT EVERYONE SPENT MORE TIME CHOPPING THEIR OWN FIREWOOD FOR HEAT, PUMPING THEIR OWN WATER AND GROWING THEIR OWN CORN THERE WOULD BE FEWER PEOPLE WITH ENOUGH TIME TO RUN AROUND CARRYING RIFLES.
PERSONALLY—I THINK THE NEW ENGLAND STONE WALLS WERE THE OLD TIME WAY OF DEALING WITH ADHD BEFORE IT HAD A NAME.

HI, CARLENE. JUST WANTED TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO CLAIRE. SHE IS THE EPITOME OF EFFICIENCY. I SAW CARL THROW UP AND HAVE DIARRHEA IN THE NIGHT AND THERE WAS A LITTLE DELAY BEFORE CLAIRE WAS ABLE TO CLEAN IT UP. I'VE BEEN WATCHING SINCE OCT. 2012 AND KNOW THAT, JUST BECAUSE WE CAN'T SEE ANYONE ON CAMERA, IT DOESN'T MEAN NO ONE IS THERE -- MOST LIKELY BUSY WITH SOMETHING ELSE -- AS YOU MENTIONED IN TODAY'S DD. WHEN CLAIRE CAME IN, SHE ASSESSED THE ROOM AND SWIFTLY CLEANED UP THE MESSES AND PUT DOWN FRESH, CLEAN FLUFFIES SO QUICKLY, I WAS AMAZED. I WOULD HAVE STOOD THERE FOR AT LEAST TEN MINUTES SAYING, "OH, MY GOD!" THANK YOU, CLAIRE👍
