food.... dog food... wonderful purina is sending us another load today 8 pallets.. i hate to cut them back for fear of
not being able to get back to the 8 pallets when we have more dogs... per fedex it will be arrivi3eng between 11 and 2.
along with a board meeting at 10 am car to car..... there are alot of issues toi discuss--
problem is.. i can't see how we can resolve any of them at teh moment...
just another grin and bare it bunch of episodes - many of which are not worth a great deal of effort,
but the cumulative effect of a bunch of minor incidents can eventually cause an explosion...
for want of a nail the nation was lost. in our case it is not a nail but a mask..
we have that here at sdp and in the whole usa...
at sdp too many details are masked... and not enough masks are used in the usa..
go figure.
there is something somewhere about it being impossible to serve two masters????
come on all you people where did i get that from???
---
the fyi of the day... something to google so if you ever hqave to know.... you will...
here again ... i know very little and could possibly be quite wrong... but i have used alot fo chains.
---
teh town cut down a nice oak just acrss the street and 2 big chunks 6 and 8 feet long
oak equals heavy in any language....
were just lying trherte waiting for someone to think ... firewood...
so denis and i got "the big chain" - teh huge truck chain i found on route 495 long ago and went .. withthe tractor
to retireve the firewood... this chainb was muchg too long for what we heeded to do,,, except it was teh strongest chain we had.
in the confusion of teh street traffic and this huge , much too long chain-- the directionof the force onthat chain got lost...
there are 2 ends ---one end a rounded hook and teh other a more narrow which will slide over one link...
the rounded onee will tighten as you pull... the narrow one can be used to loop back on itself ahnd hook teh enitrre chain...
you must never just put the pointy end of the hook in a link.. you grab the whole link... go google these 2 ends...
we got the 6 foot chunk onto our property 1/2 way up the driveway , and went bqck for the other.. a lovely8 foot straight piece.... held from rolling down into the [pond by a tree. so denis got the chain around teh log and i started to pull... when i realized if that tree did not hold the log from rolling into the pond, it could very likely roll into the pond in spite of teh fact that i was attached to it.....and our huge chain would pull me and the tracttor down the hill with it. so it is still there... one slice oi a chain saw would give me 2 pieses of nice forewood if i can just get it out of there before the police arrest me.
dried firewood is $1100 a cord around here ----- a cord is 4x4x8---- this tree had been dead.. so it was "dried"
another possibley screwed up "fact" - the indians would cut teh bark off a tree to circle it all teh way round.... and leave it for a few years to "dry out" for firewood.
one has to be awqare of circling a tree with wire fencing that the tree then grows into.. and kills it-- or horses chewing the bark off all the way round will do the samae thing.
didn't i comment a few days ago about " whio was chewing oin a tree that disovered it cured a headache.and made asprin?"
