A VERY EXCITING MORNING
THE VOMIT AND POO REPORTS ARE EXCEPTIONALLY SPECTACULARv
I AM HAPPY TO REPORT I COMPLETED A 4 STAR SUDOKO PUZZLE THIS MORNING... I DID THAT BECAUSE SOMEONE POSTED I WAS HAVING AGE INDUCED "DEMENTIA PARANOIA IGNORANCE " THEREBY JEOPARDIZING THE PUPS.
NOW I KNOW WHAT BAILEY FEELS LIKE WHEN SOPHIA THREATENS HER ON THE SOFA-- FRESH YOUNG PUP JUST WAITING FOR THE OLD GAL TO TRIP---
SO JANINE CHIMED IN.. QUITE RIGHTLY
- ...She is overly emotional over right now. I get it - everyone needs to Breathe-in-a-bag and we need to just get through the next week. Its unfortunate about this Parvow thing - but parvow seems to be pushing its way through lots of homes in MA right now....it just is a whole lot worse when you have 40+ dogs versus one or two. This too shall pass.
OF COURSE IT WILL PASS --
WE HAVE DONE SPECTACULARLY - -SO FAR----THANKS TO GRACE'S COMPETENCY ---- I KNOW OF ANOTHER VET OFFICE .. HAD 15 PARVO CASES AND LOST 12
BUT PRIOR TO THAT COMMENT , I INVITED THIS PERSON TO COME TO DOGFEST-
HOW TO PHRASE IT..... WE ALL WANT DOGFEST TO BE A HAPPY FUN-- REALISTIC WEEKEND-- THE REALISTIC PART IS... AS YOU SEE FROM THE PAST 2 WEEKS THE ENTIRE PLACE CAN GET TURNED UPSIDE DOWN ON NO ONE'S TIMELINE... AND IF THAT SHOULD HAPPEN THE WEEKEND EVERYONE IS HERE, I EXPECT EVERYONE TO PITCH IN AND KEEP ALL SYSTEMS FUNCTIONING TO THE BEST OF THEIR ABILITIES...
JUST AS THE 3 CAMERA PEOPLE WHO WERE HERE THE PAST WEEK. CLAIRE, SUSAN,KARI---- WHAT TROUPERS !!! 100% PURPLE SHIRT TYPES... EVERY MORNING SMILING AMID PUTRID STOOLS AND VOMITING PUPPIES -- WALKING AROUND IN CHLOROX-- LUGGING LAUNDRY--- OVERSTRESSED STAFF ( AND ME) NOT ALWAYS THE MOST GRACIOUS-- ( EXCEPT FOR GRACE-- WHO WAS ALWAYS GRACIOUS)-- IT WAS A TRIAL BY FIRE- AND THEY PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS..
COMMENT FROM PAM
the last three people, Claire, Susan and Kari. All three stepped up, without hesitation, and worked in all areas of the farm, from puppy & dog watch, kennel cleanup, laundry brigade, constant triage and more. Every day from first rise to after 9pm, without a complaint, problem or disruption. They stayed clear when needed and knew when to lend a hand. Without these three and their positive attitudes, and their proactive, hands-on participation we would have been in worse trouble.
THAT KIND OF THING CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME AND PEOPLE COMING FOR DOGFEST NEED TO REALIZE-- YOU SWING INTO SUPPORTIVE ACTION AS BEST YOU CAN.
SUPPORTIVE IS THE WORD... AND LEAVE THE ADVICE PART TO THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW ALL THE DETAILS -- usually GRACE PAM MEGAN AND ME
AND THEN WHAT TO DO WITH THOSE DETAILS TO GEORGE AND THE OTHER VETERIANRIANS ON HIS STAFF...
"I WISH YOU'D TRY THE RAW FISH THAT CURED MY UNCLE'S DOG'S PARVO " CONCEPT HAS NO PLACE IN A DISASTER
JUDGEMENTS HAVE TO BE MADE... AND THE BUCK STOPS HERE. BELIEVE ME...IF THAT WAS A PROBLEM THE FIRST ONE TO TELL ME-- AND MAYBE THE ONLY ONE I WOULD BELIEVE-- WOULD BE GEORGE.
WHO'S ADVICE I USUALLY TAKE 74% OF THE TIME
LIKE------ HE TOLD ME TO GO TRY COSTCO'S HEARING AIDS.
SO I AM GOING TO DO THAT.
IF THEY WORK, IT WILL SOLVE MANY PROBLEMS AROUND HERE.
