couple big things
the third graders in colorado put out the most amazing book
pictures of ou r pups with "balloon" comments-- some of which are right on the money
the first one that caught my attention is a pup on either side of chaos head
one says " this eye isn't open"
the other "this one isn't either... maybe we better not wake her"
it deserves something.... i wish steph was coming here today -- she is our resident editor
i wonder how many of these books were printed...
needs some thought....

and there is an article in the boston globe today about service dogs... it is online...she did a nice job..

and then there is the cranney house hunt... i have spent hours staring at a screen full of red dots..
i did not realize this is the modern way to find a house... zillow.com

we are getting better at the sound at mail call--- we even had time to remember to make some phone calls to some of the people who send in phone numbers for the retreat lottery.

Carlene,
Last week Arrow and I attended an MS Public Policy Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill. People with MS came from all over the US to talk with their legislators about policy issues and funding that impact people with MS. Arrow helped me negotiate the halls of the Senate and House buildings as well as inside the Capitol itself. Needless to say we turned a few heads. He couldn't have been better behaved. Our day started at a hotel in Arlington for a sendoff breakfast for the participants, then we took a bus to the Hill where our Virginia delegation met with three different legislators. I gave a short talk each time about my own situation with MS, including how lucky I was to have traded my cane for a Dane. I think we made a memorable impression. Arrow was a "huge" success in helping our cause get the attention it needed. We finished up at about 3:30 and took the bus back to the hotel. It was a very long day for both of us. I would guess we walked about two miles, but worth every step.
Take care,
Valerie
