i had a dreadful time not getting into the discussion about the birth of the foal
THEY WERE DISCUSSING LAST NIGHT ON OUR DISCUSSION BOARD.
I SAW ONLY ONE PHOTO-- AND I COULD TELL...TROUBLE FOR THAT FOAL... MARE STANDING QUIETLY WHILE THE NEWBORN FOAL ONE HOUR OLD NUZZLED AROUND TRYING TO FIND THE MILK DEPARTMENT... AND 6 PEOPLE-- WITH THINGS LIKE STETHOSCOPES STOOD AROUND... IT WOUL D ONLY BE A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE PEOPLE WOUDL DECIDE THE FOAL NEEDED HELP.... WHEN THE BEST HELP THEY COULD HAVE BEEN WAS TO GO FO COFFEE AND LEAVE THE MOTHER TO DEAL...NEXT I HEAR-- VIA THE CONVERSATIONS-- THEY HAVE DECIDED THE FOAL NEEDS TO BE TUBED AND THE MARE IS UPSET BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE FOA L ON THE GROUND...
IF THAT WAS MY FOAL- AND I WAS THERE I WOULD HAVE TOLD THEM WHERE TO PUT THAT TUBE.. IF THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE TEACHING IN THAT VET SCHOOL I AM TOTALLY SHOCKED. I WAS ANGRY IT WAS PRESENTED AS HELPING THE MALNURISHED FOAL-- ONE HOUR OLD... IT WAS STANDING AND TRYING... AND A BUNCH OF PEOPLE WANTED TO SHOVE THE TUBE UP HIS NOSE... I WAS ANGRY- THAT CERTAINLY IS NOT NORMAL--IT IS HOWEVER A BILLABLE SERVICE.
I BETTER QUIT THERE...
ALL THIS BECAUSE NOEL 'S PROGRESS IS MOVING SLOWLY- I DO THINK IT MAY BE TODAY... SHE IS DOING SOME NESTING.. NOT SPECTACULARLY BUT SOME.. AND THE RATE AT WHICH SHE DROPPED THE LAST LITTER WE DON'T DARE LEAVE HER..
THE KITCHEN IS FULL FO LAUGHING PEOPLE-- SO I WANT TO GO JOIN THE FUN
