SCIENCE IS GETTING MORE PRESS THAN USUAL LATELY, AND ABOUT TIME !! I BLAME IT ON 2 THINGS... WELL MAKE IT 3 OR SO... THERE IS A VERY BASIC SCIENTISTS THINK, BUT CAN NOT WRITE ABOUT IT. SO EARLY IN MY LIFE BEING CURIOUS ABOUT SOMETHING, OFTEN MADE A MESS, HAD NO PRACTICAL APPLICATION AND WAS SOMETHING BOYS WERE ALLOWED TO DO/ STUDY/ WHAT EVER.. UNLESS THEY BECAME NERDS AMD ISOLATED FROM THE FOOTBALL PLAYERS.. THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF BEING CURIOUS ABOUT SOME RIDICOULOUSLY SIMPLE SCIENTIFIC PRINCIPLE IS JUST A WASTE OF TIME....ESPECIALLY FOR A GIRL CHILD
LET ME GO BACK TO MY MCDONALDS HAPPY MEALS CONCEPT..-- GET 'EM YOUNG, TRAIN 'EM EARLY--- OR WHY RIGHT NOW WE ARE VERY SHORT OF NERDS TO HELP WITH THIS COV BIT...
TAKE A NORMAL 5 YEAR OLD KID DRINKING HIS/HER ORANGEJUICE THRU A STRAW, PUTS THEIR FINGER ON THE END AND SEES THEY CAN LIFT SOME OJ OUT OF THE GLASS... AND UNHAPPILY DRIPS IT ALL OVER TH TABLE.... I GUARENTEE YOU 99.4% OF TEH TIME MOM... IN a hurry and convinced by some perfect housewife in th e clouds, that her house must be clean and tidy at all costs..... says "look at the mess you have made, let me wipe that up and go play with your toys." right there.... 60 yeears ago you have at least one of the reasons we are inteh mess we are in today.
squash teh curiosity of that kid who might have been that one to invent the vaccine we all need...
how many times have i heard grade school teachers--- usually a woman--- who had been trained to say.. "i always hated math/ science " what is totallyt lacking is the bare basic scientific phenomenon which might pique some kid's curiosity and at least get them thinking, questioning.
i troied to do a nutty professor at mail call-- i was going to do one a week, but after i got my rubber ducky from teh pqacific dishpan to the atlantic one i did not run out of ie=deas, but ran out of the time and generic stuff to get these demos togethere. -- and i looked...I TRIED TO FIND THINGS LIKE A SIMPLE SCALE TO SEE HOW MUCH STUFF WEIGHS simple scientific principles got far too complicateedd for the
budding 5 year old scientist -- which is the only level i am capable of dealing with. THEY HAD SCALES IN POUNDS AND KGS - SCREWED UP RIOGHT THERE... DON'T CONFUSE THE BASIC ISSUE WITH WHAT YOU COULD DO.
it wasn't untgili was nearly 70 ghat i went oiut and bought 100 foot of siphon hose to play with-- just a toy the=n, but i leveled teh g tent with it and noiw a oiece is hauling water upa nd over the swing set... i am shocked and amazed at the number of adults who stop to play with it...oh that they had been given a straw and glass of water to play with in theri yard when ghye were 5 years old .
for our children science gets too drab too quickly with details explained by someone who majored in latin.
there is a guy.....at MIT PHYSICS lab walter soxxxxxx who's brilliance is that altho he is teaching the complicatred formulas etc..he is demonstragting the principals that any 5 year old could understand... like lying prone on a rope and swinging around the classroom. i guarentee all his studentsw are inTerested in the formula for the periodicity of the pendulaum ---- but the 5 year old would remember unless you get someone to push, your swing set will slow YOU down-
we need to spark teh minds of more 5 year olds with the very simple scientific facts... things fall D O W N- and WHEN THEY DO. THEY have teh ability to do something.... like knock thigs over... start wondering then and see what way they can go. may e when they get older tehy can fix the toilet.
ok, SO a POOR example....... so i am only looking for teh one person who can do vacccines,
if you give enough monkeys enough typewriters one of them will type the complete works of william shakespeare..
what are we but that group of monkeys in search of brilliance? ....
and in search of the one monkey who was not given a typewriter.
how do we recognise the one kid to whom a perfect;y clean house does not compare to wondering why he can spill orNJUICE with his drinking straw.
SOME WILL NOW SAY IT IS IN DEFENSE OF MY ABILITY TO KEE[P A TIDY HOUSEHOLD.
YOU GOT THAT RIGHT !

I thought I would share some photos from today as it was a little moment I was able to have that I could not experience before Elvis. Elvis and I went to the beach today for a little wonder (don't worry we were FAR apart from any other human in sight!) since we are both still recovering from our long walk this past Sunday. I had to take my stronger medication due to my muscles not being in great shape this week so definitely did not have much energy but I know Elvis loves walking through the edge of the water so we went as it was so nice outside.
My plan was to sit by the edge as I actually can not walk into water with the state of my legs. I can not maintain any sort of balance (and trying to crutch through water would be interesting!) and I just wanted Elvis to have a play by the edge. However, while I was waiting by the edge Elvis didn't seem to want to go in without me, he would start to go play and then come trotting back to me and just stare at me 🤣 So I had a "you only live once" moment, grabbed onto him and we happily made our way through the water. We made sure to go very slow as I only had his collar to hold onto and it definitely wasn't the most graceful walk but we both had a great time and Elvis made sure I did not fall (I had a number of moments of stumbling and grabbing onto him but he just waited like a rock). It was nice to have some time in the water, which is something I have not been able to do for as long as I can remember 💙
