Hi Carlene,

While I could never take Ava, and all that she does, for granted, sometimes I have to admit that I do expect her to know how to act and what to do. Last night was no exception. We were at a local restaurant in town, where they know her and had already pulled out the extra chair. As usual she got right down on her mat and achieved boredom. She got up long enough to help me negotiate the tables and get to the restroom.

Before we left, a woman came to our table and said that, as a dog handler, she just wanted to say how much she was impressed with Ava, and how well Ava and I did together.

Of course, Jim launched into a quick story of where she was bred trained from birth.

Thanks again for such a wonderfully trained, loving and thinking walker.

P.S. Just encountered a family in the woods. When they saw Ava, they quickly moved to the side of the trail and told us to take our time. Then, with a smile and reverence in her voice, the woman asked if she could just stare.
