3:15AM.. I AM UP-- SO THERE IS NO REASON PAM SHOULD NOT BE ASLEEP..-- WE ARE A LITTLE SHORT ON OVERNIGHTERS-- AND I AM AWAKE..
NOT VERY BRILLIANT, BUT I AM AWAKE ..I HAVE ALWAYS THOGUTH THERE IS NO REASON TO DO MORNING EXERCISES OF BEND AND STRETCH, WHEN I CAN PICK POO WHILE ON THE BEND PART.. I DO HAVE A TREADMILL .. I HAVE BEEN ON A TREADMILL MY ENTIRE LIFE SO IT IS FITTING THAT ONE BE IN MY BEDROOM.. IT MAKES A GREAT COAT RACK.
IT IS THE ONLY PLACE I CAN SAFELY KEEP MY AMELIA EIRHEART LEATHER HELMET- THAT I NO LONGER NEED SINCE I GOT HEAT IN THE TRACTOR CAB... - AND I NOTICED I HAVE NOT PUT ON MY SNOWSUIT ONCE THIS WINTER .... SO FAR... WHO SAYS WE ARE NOT HAVING EARTH WARMING ??
****
I CAN REMEMBER........HERE WE GO AGAIN..... I OWN 5 SNOWSUITS AND ONE SET OF THINGS WITH SUSPENDERS.. I DON'T KNOW WHY I ASSOCIATE THEM WITH AN ESCALATOR AT THE PRUDENTIAL TOWER, BUT I DO...
IT WAS CHRISTMAS-- ONE OF THEM-- AND CHRISTMAS WITH A BUNCH OF DONKEYS WAS HARD WORK-IT WAS HOW WE PAID THE BILLS-- EITHER THE GROCERY OR THE TUITION-- BUT IT WAS BILL PAYING MONEY TO TAKE A BUNCH OF ANIMALS INTO CITY TYPE PLACES SO CITY TYPE PEOPLE COULD WALK BY ON THEIR WAY TO PURCHASE PLASTIC FIGURINES OF DONKEYS. IT PAID WELL.. I WAS LIKE THE VALEDICTORIAN OF THE CLASS WHEN THE CLASS CONTAINED ONLY ONE PERSON... I WAS THE ONLY ONE WITH STRANGE KID PROOFED ANIMALS-- SO WHEN THEY WANTED "SANTA'S FARM." .. WE WERE IT.
IT WAS A COLD JOB, BUT JANINE COUOD ALWAYS COME UP WITH A CREW FROM HER DAYS AT COLLEGE AT BU... I COULD COUNT ON 4 X- LARGE VARIETY STUDENTS THERE WAS USUALLY ONE SMALLER PERSON WHO WORE THE PANTS WITH SUSPENDERS...
YOU KNOW ---- YOU NEVER NEVER PUT A DOG ON AN ESCALATOR BECAUSE THEIR TOENAILS CAN GET CAUGHT IN THE RIDGES OF THE TREADS... HOWEVER DONKEYS AND SHEEP DON'T HAVE THAT PROBLEM -SO ONE NIGHT AS WE PACKED UP TO GO...., I PULLED THAT HUGE 50 ' TRAILER UP TO THE PRUDENTIAL TOWER.. WHILE ERNIE-- WHO WORE THE XXXL SUIT AND 2 OTHERS STUFFED THE DONKEYS AND SHEEP ONTO THE DOWN ESCALATOR--..ALL WORKED PERFECTLY AS I WATCHED IN HORROR AT THE BOTTOM... THE DONKEYS VERY POLITELY HOPPED OFF THE ESCALATOR AT THE PROPER MOMENT AND WALKED INTO THE TRAILER-- BUT THE SHEEP - 2 OF THEM- DID NOT RREALIZE THE TRAILER WAS THE TRIP BACK HOME AND RAN -LUCKILY SHEEP STAY TOGETHER- ANDHEY RAN THE SAME DIRECTION- INTO THE PARKING GARAGE-- I JUST LEFT THE DONKEYS WHO WERE ALREADY MUNCHING THE HAY WHICH THEY KNEW WOULD BE IN THE TRANLER FOR THEM.. SO I RAN AFTER THE SHEEP - LEAVING -PROBABLY 8 - DONKEYS EATING HAY IN THE TRAILER. BEFORE MY OTHER HELPERS IN THE SNOWSUITS GATHERED UP THE TURKEYS IN THEIR CRATEES AND PUT THEM ON THE SAME ESCALATOR. I WOULD THEN GATHER UP THE SNOW SUITS AND THE COLLEGE KIDS WOULD GET ON THE SUBWAY AND GO BACK TO BU...
THIS KIND OF THING EVOLVED TO-- 25 YEARS LATER---- ONE OF MY REGULAR XMAS HELPERS WAS APPLYING FOR A TECH JOB IN BOSTON... AND HAD TO BE INTERVIEWED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE CORP.... HE THOUGHT HE RECOGINIZED THE GUY- AND SAID "WEREN'T YOU THE BABY CHICKEN GUY AT THE MARRIOTT?" SURE ENOUGH THEY HAD BOTH BEEN PART OF MY CHRISTMAS CREW.
THERE WERE ALOT OF JOBS.. FRIDAY THRU SUNDAY FROM THANKSGIVING ON...--
**I REMEMBER.... HUDDLING UNDER A PILE OF HAY WITH DIDA WHILE HER KIDS AND MINE MANAGED THE ANIMALS- TIL ONE OF THE SPECTATORS TOLD THE KIDS "THERE ARE 2 HOMELESS PEOPLE UNDER THE HAY" -- WE LOOKD THE PART....
**I REMEMBER- THE HEATED TENT ON BOSTON COMMON WHERE I WAS TO LEAVE THE WHOLE "FARM" FOR 30 DAYS.-- FOR $30,000--- WELL YOU CAN NOT LEAVE A BUNCH OF ANIMALS LIKE THAT UNATTENDED IN BOSTON BECAUSE TO MANY OF THOSE CITY PEOPLE THE SHEEP, GOATS AND CHICKENS WERE... DINNER... SO I HAD TO HIRE OVERNIGHT SECURITY-- WHO BETTER THAN MY FRIEND WHO RAISED ATTACK/ PROTECTION DOGS... SHE HAD NO TROUBLE.. ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAD THAT QUEEN SIZE BED THERE AS A PLACE TO DISPLAY MY COLLECTION OF DANES.. WHICH WENT HOME EVERY NIGHT.. SHE SLEPT ON THE BED WITH HER DOGS AND NO ONE GOT IN THERE.
**I REMEMBER.. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO KEEP IT SPOTLESS.. SH1T HAPPENS---SO I WOULD LEAVE THAT 50' HORSE TRAILER THERE TO CONTAIN THE MANURE PILE.. BUT HTAT HAD TO BE BROUGHT BACK TO THE FARM EVERY 4 DAYS TO EMPTY IT.-- THEN BACK IT IN THRU VERY NARROW GATES INTO PLACE TO GET FILLED AGAIN..
**IT WAS DURING THIS JOB THAT A SMALL DONKEY JUST PLAIN DIED ONE NIGHT -- NEVER KNEW WHY- DEATH DOES HAPPEN-- -- SO WITH THE SPECTATORS ABOUT TO ARRIVE, JANINE CARRIED THE SMALL DONK TO HER CAR AND PUT HIM IN TH E TRUNK... PROBLEM WAS SHE FORGOT HE WAS THERE FOR A COUPLE WEEKS...--- LUCKILY IT WAS COLD WINTER... I THINK THAT IS IN HER BOOK "DOGS DONKEY S AND CIRCUS"
****
THERE IS NO END TO THE WIERD STORIES-- THERE WAS THE ONE ABOUT BRINGING A 500 POUND PIG INTO A HOTEL IN CAMBRIDGE... PIGS ARE NOT WHAT YOU WOUL DCALL "LEASH TRAINED" AND A DETERMINED PIG COULD DO SOME REAL DAMAGE IN A HOTEL RESTAURANT.. SO WE CONTAINED TH EPIG WITH THOSE "JERSEY BARRIERS" BIG CEMENT TRAFFIC BARRIERS... DECORATED...
TO EVERY PROBLEM THERE WAS A SOLUTION...
*** SOME OF THE THINGS I REMEMBER, I PROBABLY SHOULDN'T.
IN SETTIN G UP IN ONE HOTEL -- WE HAD A SYSTEM... I WOULD LEAD TEH DONKEYS ACROSS THE RESTAURNAT AND JANINE WOULD FOLLOW WITH A STAINLESS STEEL BUCKET FULL OF CARROTS-- SO IF ANYTHING EXCITING WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN SHE WOLD DUMP THE CARROTS QUICK AND CATCH WHATEVER... THAT HAPPENED IN THE MERIDIAN HOTEL ( A VERY NICE BOSTON BEST TYPE) I STOOD THERE TO LET THE DONKEY FINISH... AND JANINE NEVER MISSED A PUCKIE...A WAITER WENT BY AND SAID "DON'T WORRY ABOUT THAT, THERE IS NOTHING DIRTIER THAN A CARPET ON A RESTAURANT FLOOR" ---- OUCH !!! I FOREVER LOOKED AT RUGS AND CARPET IN A DIFFERENT LIGHT.
***
SO FAR...PUPPY SITTING AT THIS HOURS IS NOT GOING TOO BADLY.. PAM IS ASLEEP... WE DO HAVE WHAT SEEMS LIKE A BUG GOING ROUND AS SEVERAL HAVE THROWN UP-- SO OTHER THN THAT , I HAVE HAD VERY LITTLE TO DO.
I WOULD LOVE ANOTHER CUPPA COFFEE BUT THE COFFEE IS NEXT TO THE PUPS WHO ARE SLEEPING.--- "LET SLEEPING PUPPIES LIE"

Wendy is earning her keep, that's for sure! Hunter is still very floppy and is using Wendy a lot. Hunter is tired even after vacation, and he's sore from working on helping with his sister's new bed last week and gym yesterday, even taking ibuprofen. Doesn't stop him though! This is leaving band today, PT tomorrow, and then helping with something for school Friday night. We can tell Wendy's working hard, she's more hungry, so more treats it is for doing such a great job!

LETTER TO NYLABONE/
Eileen,
I wanted to personally thank you for the donation from Nylabone to Service Dog Project in Ipswitch, Mass. I understand that two very large boxes of assorted bones were sent them and I wanted to take the opportunity to thank your company.
As you probably already know SDP does great work training service dogs for people with disabilities related to mobility issues. They do amazing work!!
I know this personally because I am a recipient of one of their wonderful dogs, Dolly. We have been paired for a little over 2 1/2 years now. Dolly has absolutely changed my life. I now have so much more independece. Before receiving Dolly I was unable to walk across the lawn, step up a curb, navigate stairs, ect. I am now able to walk with my grandchildren on the playground, I am also able to attend their little league games and many other family fun outings. Dolly and I are now seen shopping in the community and so many other things that I was unable to do before her.
Dolly
Giving donations is so much a part of helping SDP transform peoples lives. So again I want to thank you for your generous donation. You are making a difference!!
Sincerely,
Brenda Swarts &
