RANDOM ACT OF CAKE DELIVERY.. REPORT....

CAKE DELIVERED LAST MONTH AND TODAY IN ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA. ALWAYS APPRECIATED.
Doggy Daily dated July 20, 2019, reported Oklahoma and Minnesota off the list. ( WHOOPS LINDA !!!!!!!  I NNEED UPDATE)
I live in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and I am close enough to Arkansas (about 15 miles) I could not let it pass that we had not delivered anywhere in Arkansas. So today I picked up 2 dozen cupcakes to deliver to our local Butler county fire department and also two dozen that happened to be blue and gold that I decided to drive down to Corning, Arkansas. A small town of 3377 people. Only problem I discovered when I arrived was that the volunteer fire department is not staffed, but the police station was next-door and they really appreciated receiving the cupcakes and the flyer. So hopefully it counts even though I do not live in Arkansas!

ASHER AND I MAY HAVE LEFT NEW YORK CITY, BUT OUR TRAVELS DIDN'T END THERE LAST WEEK! THE LAST EIGHT DAYS HAVE BEEN QUITE A WHIRLWIND OF ACTIVITY, AND I'M ALWAYS SO GRATEFUL TO ASHER FOR BEING SUCH A CHAMP AND SO THANKFUL TO HAVE THE BEST ADVENTURE PARTNER OUT THERE!
AFTER WE SADLY (WELL, ASHER MAY HAVE BEEN READY TO GO HOME!) LEFT THE BIG CITY ON MONDAY, WE HAD TWO DAYS AT HOME BEFORE WE WERE OFF AGAIN. WE USED THIS TIME TO UNPACK AND GET SETTLED BACK IN, AND TO MEET WITH THE RI CENTER FOR JUSTICE TO TOUCH BASE ON OUR JOINT FELLOWSHIP APPLICATION DUE IN MID-SEPTEMBER. WHILE I'M READY TO RETURN TO NYC IN A HEARTBEAT, I DON'T PLAN ON DOING SO IMMEDIATELY AFTER GRADUATION SINCE I'D LIKE TO BEGIN MY CAREER IN OUR ADOPTIVE HOME STATE FIRST. I HAD MISSED MY SUPERVISORS AT THE CFJ ALL SUMMER - IT WAS SO GOOD TO SEE THEM! WE'LL BE CONTINUING TO WORK ON MY FELLOWSHIP APPLICATION TOGETHER IN HOPES THAT MY PASSION PROJECT OF HELPING TO ELIMINATE DISABILITY-BASED HOUSING DISCRIMINATION IN RHODE ISLAND WILL BE SELECTED FOR A TWO-YEAR FELLOWSHIP BEGINNING NEXT FALL.
ON THURSDAY MORNING, ASHER AND I WERE WASHINGTON, DC-BOUND FOR OUR FIRST NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE ANNUAL MEETING WITH EQUAL JUSTICE WORKS! WE HAD MOST OF THE DAY THURSDAY TO EXPLORE, SO WE MADE THE MOST OF IT: WE WERE SO EXCITED TO MEET UP WITH SERVICE DOG PROJECT PAIR HEIDI AND RIZZ FOR THE FIRST TIME - I JUST LOVE THAT SEEMINGLY NO MATTER WHERE WE GO, WE HAVE SDP FRIENDS CLOSE BY! IT WAS A GREAT LUNCH DATE ALL TOGETHER AND ASHER AND I WERE SO IMPRESSED BY HOW WELL HEIDI AND RIZZ WORK TOGETHER AS A TEAM.
I THOUGHT IT WAS SO GREAT THAT WE HAD JUST CONQUERED THE BIG APPLE RIGHT BEFORE OUR TRIP TO DC BECAUSE NOTHING THERE INTIMIDATED ME - ASHER AND I EXPLORED OUR AREA ON FOOT BUT WE ALSO HAD NO PROBLEMS ZOOMING AROUND ON THE METRO ALL AFTERNOON! I THINK WE BOTH REALLY ENJOYED OUR SEVERAL HOURS AROUND THE WHITE HOUSE, MY FIRST TIME SEEING IT IN PERSON, AND A NICE OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY THE DAY AS WE SAT UNDER A TREE ON THE GRASS IN A NEARBY PARK. WE TOOK THE METRO BACK TO OUR HOTEL TO GET THINGS READY FOR FRIDAY'S EARLIER MORNING, THE DAY OF OUR MEETING. I HAD SUCH A GREAT DAY LEARNING MORE ABOUT EQUAL JUSTICE WORKS, MORE ABOUT MY ROLE AS A COMMITTEE MEMBER, AND EXCHANGING IDEAS ABOUT WHAT WE CAN DO OVER THIS NEXT YEAR TO SUPPORT OTHER LAW STUDENTS IN PURSUIT OF PUBLIC INTEREST LEGAL CAREERS.
AFTER SPENDING JUST OVER 24 HOURS IN DC, WE JETTED DOWN TO FLORIDA TO SEE FAMILY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, WHICH WAS REALLY NICE - I DON'T THINK I'VE BEEN DOWN THERE SINCE CHRISTMAS. THIS WAS REALLY FINALLY A CHANCE FOR ASHER TO ENJOY A BRIEF SUMMER VACATION - HE GOT TO RELAX IN ANOTHER ONE OF HIS FAVORITE PLACES, AND RUN AROUND THE BIG BACKYARD WITH HIS COUSIN PIPER. IT WAS A SHORT TRIP DOWN THIS TIME, BUT ALWAYS GREAT TO SEE FAMILY!
NOW THAT WE'RE BACK, I CAN'T DENY THE FACT THAT MY THIRD YEAR OF SCHOOL IS RAPIDLY APPROACHING - OUR FIRST CLASS IS TOMORROW NIGHT, AND WE'RE BACK FULL FORCE ON WEDNESDAY. I'M NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER YEAR IN THE LEAST, BUT IT'LL BE NICE TO SEE SOME FAMILIAR FACES AND I'M TRYING TO TAKE COMFORT IN KNOWING THAT THIS IS OUR LAST FALL SEMESTER OF LAW SCHOOL EVER! WE HAVE GRADUATION TO LOOK FORWARD TO THIS YEAR, AND IT'LL BE EXCITING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE I'LL GET TO PUT THIS HARD-EARNED DEGREE TO FIRST USE COME EARLY FALL NEXT YEAR.
WE'LL BE TAKING THE NEXT 24 HOURS OR SO TO UNPACK AND UNWIND AFTER SUCH A BUSY WEEK, AND THEN IT'S BACK TO IT. HOPE YOU ALL HAD A GREAT START TO YOUR WEEK, AND AS USUAL, WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO SHARING OUR LAW SCHOOL TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS WITH YOU THIS YEAR FOR THE THIRD AND FINAL TIME!
