THIS WILL BE CARLENE'S THEORY OF ACCOUNTING DAY.... i know  there must be a reason for extremely accurate accounting-- my bank ( s) do that... and the only reason they can is they don't have 60 great danes and 100 people to deal with...my only requirement from any accounting is   "is it gonna bounce?" i realize that anyone giving us money  has some right to know where it went..-- and believe me you are welcome to come here and "straighten it out"-- your first problem will be the "spike" of reciepts-- which i ended up going thru yesterday getting madder and madder.. allow me to get specific....  irene ( the current  accountant for sdp-- you may as well know her name) asked for my "petty cash log" right !  it is something i certainly could have kept if i didn't have a few other things to do..  the best i can do is to  take any reciepts and any odd bits of paper pertaining to money and stick them on  one of those 6" spikes..  it does keep things mostly in  cronological order- depending on how often i clean my car-  I CHECK TO BE SURE THE BANK HAS DEPOSITED ALL THE MONEY I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE--  AND I IGNORE ALL THOSE NOTICES ABOUT INTEREST $.43 - I MAKE A SPREAD SHEET OF ALL THE CHECKS THAT HAVE CLEARED- I DO NOT SEE WHY THAT IS NOT A GOOD ENOUGH  PETTY CASH LOG.  OK.. SO  THERE ARE 6 CHECKS WRITTEN TO BENTLEY WARREN.. A STORE/YARD.. THAT SELLS ONLY ROCKS, PEBBLES, SAND AND THAT STONE DUST THAT IS IN THE AREA IN FRONT OF THE BARN. MY CHECKS TO BW = 392  534  196  352 582  352- ADD THEM UP  AND IRENE IS HAPPY-- HOWEVER.. A REAL PERSON ( NOT AN ACCOUNTANT) WOULD KNOW THAT THE  PROBABLILTY OF THE TOTAL  BENIG WRONG IS VERY HIGH-- BECAUSE THOSE TRUCKS ARE FILLED BY A SCOOP OR TWO FROM A HUGE BUCKET MACHINE-- THEY THEN GET ON THE MONSTER TRUCK SCALES TO DETERMINE THE CHARGE.   THE PROBABILITY OF HAVING 2 TRUCKS WITH THE SAME CHARGE  352  IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY.    SO I KNOW IT IS WRONG..  IS IT WORHT FIXING?  NOT IN MY BOOK...  LINDA HAD DONE SUCH A NICE JOB OF TYPING ALL THIS $%#^&*(*&^% ON A CLEAN PIECE OF PAPER--  I DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT THE  CORRECT NUMBER IS  BUT I AM PRETTY SURE  352 IS NOT IT.  *****  I REMEMBER....( HERE WE GO AGAIN) IT IS THAT LOGIC  THAT GOT ME THE JOB WHICH PUT MY 2 KIDS THRU COLLEGE- AND THEN BUILT THE BARN AND ARENA... TEHRE WAS A MAGAZINE CALLED "the WANT Ad"   - BEFORE THE INTERNET,  IT WAS THE EQUIVILANT OF EBAY IN PRINTED FORM. I MANAGED TEH DISTRIBUTION  NORTH OF THE CHARLES RIVER--  BEING A MATH NUT... I BOUGHT MYSELF A COMPUTER LONG AGO AND PROGRAMMED IT ( THIS WAS BEFORE MICROSOFT-- JUST BLACK AND WHITE... AND EASY TO DEAL WITH....    -- A HUGE THING- ON WHIHC I KEPT ALL MY RECORDS OF CHARGE ACCOUNTS AND SALES ETC...IT WOUOLD .. WEEKILY SPIT OUT ONE PIECE OF PAPER GIVING ME ALL THE INFORMATION  I NEEDED TO KNOW.-- THE EASY WAY.. ONE DAY THE PRESIDENT OF TEH WANT AD, CALLED ME DOWN TO THE MAIN OFFICE ( WHERE I WENT ONCE A YEAR) TO MEET WITH THE "ACCOUNTANT"  WHO DID MUCH THE SAME THING  FOR SOUTH OF THE RIVER...  HE HAD A BLUE SUIT, BRIEF CASE AND SHINED SHOES.. HE HAD AN IMPRESSIVE REPORT OF "COMPUTER PAPER"-- YOU REMEMBER THE STUFF WITH ALL THE HOLES IN THE SIDE..  - IT WAS 1/2 INCH THICK..  IT DWARFED MY ONE SHEET OF PAPER FOLDED IN THE BACK POCKET OF MY BLUE JEANS.  GOLDIE WAS WITH ME THAT DAY-- AS I TOOK ONE LOOKAT THE FINAL PAGE OF HIS REPORT, I MADE THE STATEMENT "THE REPORT IS WRONG... I CAN NOT TELL YOU NOW, WHAT IS CORRECT BUT THAT REPORT IS WRONG."-- THE BOOK WHOLESALED FOR 86 CENTS AND HIS TOTAL  SALE ENDED IN AN ODD NUMBER...  AFTER WHICH---- THE PRES ASKED ME TO TAKE OVER THE ENTIRE MAGAZINE--  THERE WERE A FEW OTHER INTERESTING THINGS FROM THAT MEETING.. AFTER WORKING FOR THEM FOR 19 YEARS, THEY WERE SHOCKED TO HEAR I HAD A COLLEGE DEGREEE IN MATH...  ----- SOMETIHG WAS SAID LIKE "YOU HIDE IT WELL"  THERE WAS ONE OTHER FYI I COULD MENTION-- THAT ACCOUNTANT'S PROGRAM  WAS NOT KICKING OUT READABEL BILLS  BECUASE THE    BILL WOULD START OUT  JANUARY  THEN OCTOBER, THEN NOVEMBER, THEN DECEMBER THEN FEBRUARY.. THAT WAS A PROGRAMMING ISSUE WHERE SOME PROGRAMMER  HAD CALLED THE NUMBERS APHATABETIC CHARACTERS-- SO IT WAS READING  1,10,11, 12, 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9   KINDA STICKY--  THINK PHONE BOOK --- SMITH, SMITHSON, SMITHSONIAN THAT JOB WITH THE WANT AD LEFT ME WITH A BUNCH OF MONEY, THE LAUNDRY BUILDING WHICH WAS ONCE TEH RECIEVING SHED FOR TRUCKLOADS OF MAGGAZINES, PLUS AN INTIMATE KNOWLEDGE OF  THE LOCATION OF OVER 2000 SMALL VARIETY STORES NORTH OF THE CHARLES RIVER.  AND THERE ARE SOME REALLY FUNNY STORIES BOUT THEM. ***************** It's been an amazing two weeks. We've been like glue.  He is only an arms reach away.  We go out to practice at least 4 hours everyday.  We are at the point of walking very slowly through out the hospital (loose leash) and by voice commands only, while I carry a cup of coffee. His recall has vastly improved, comes right in when called from the far corner of yard, he came right to me to help me out of the barbers chair this morning.   We sleep in the same bed and he accompany's me to the bathroom at night, no more stumbling . Responds very well to command/snapping finger/pointing. Now sits in my lap, not when he's afraid, but to let others know, I'm his. He constantly watches me all the time. He does not pay attention to others any more, I know he's concentrating on me. He's only tested me a few times. He has not gotten away with anything. We are still working on things but he and I are now a great team again. Jack oday Eve & Finn celebrated Valentine's Day with a Valentine Tea with her class. We sent hand dipped chocolate covered strawberries as well as something special so Finn could participate too! Wait til you see this video...We came home after school relaxed had dinner then went out to practice by visiting a grocery store to pick up a pack of cookies for Eve to celebrate her Birthday with her class tomorrow! Finn and Eve handled it perfectly!! I couldn't have asked anymore of either of them. I think that is going to be a place we frequent more often it was just the right amount of distraction without being overwhelming for Eve or Finn. Carlene should be proud I'm finally getting it "go slow!!!!" Ok - well - I think I got it a couple weeks ago but now I'm really seeing the results :)
