I AM REACTING TO THE OFFER OF AOL TO CHARGE ME $5.99 TO  ELIMINATE ALL ADVERTISING FROM MY EMAILS BY  TRACKING DOWN EACH ONE  MYSELF AND UNSUBSCRIBING...  THERE IS A NEVER ENDING SUPPLY-- AND THAT $5.99 OFFER  IS LOOKING BETTER BY  THE MINUTE.. *** I DID GET THE CHECK FROM AIG LIFE INSURANCE-- START WITH -- I HATE INSURANCE COMPANIES-  DOES ANYONE WANT TO BET...  THIS WAS PLANNED????   HAVING SENT THEM $3200 PER YEAR FOR 30 YEARS.....THEY SENT SEVERAL NOTICES TELLING ME MY $200,000 LIFE INSURANCE POLICY WAS WORTH 0 AND THE CASH VALUE WAS  0.. .. I CALLED AND GOT -- NUMBER DISCONTINUED..---SALES OFF ICE  FOR CRUIZES TO ITALY, ---AND LAST  ONLY SPOKE ( PROBABLY)   JAPANESE. ---THERE WERE 2 STREET ADDRESSES ONE IN TENN AND THE OTHER IN CHICAGO.-  I CONTACTED ALOT OF PEOPLE-- SEVERAL--- DEAD END.   CAMERA PEOPLE GOT ON THE PROBLEM-- AND FINALLY THE  MASSACHEUTTES STATE INSURANCE WHATEVER..I THEN BEGAN TO GET PAPERS THAT SAID IT HAD CASH VALUE OF 107,000-- YOU BET I DECIDED TO TAKE  THE 107,000- NOW CONSIDER THAT  FROM THEIR CORPORATE VIEW... AT 79 CHANCES ARE THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE TO COME UP WITH 200,000 IN TEH NEXT FEW YEARS- SO BY SCARING ME INTO CASHING IT IN...- THEY SAVED 100,000..-- INTERESTINGLY  THEY EVEN SPELLED OUT THE ZERO  ZERO  VALUE...                       PROBLEM WAS... THAT POLICY WAS TO COVER ANY ESTATE  TAXES  SO HOPEFULLY SERVICE DOG PROJECT WOULD STILL FUNCTION ON CRAZY ACRES.. OWNED BY MY 2 GIRLS.AND RENTED FOR A FEW MORE YEARS FOR $1 A YEAR.--   NOW IT IS BACK TO THE REALESTATE LAWYER FOR   PLAN"B" *******  WHICH BRINGS TO MIND------ WHEN I SOLD MY "FARM" IN LYNNFIELD-- I DID NOT PUT IT IN ANY AGENT  RE OFFICE.... AND FIGURED I WOULD GO  THE "BY OWNER" ROUTE..--  THE SIGN WAS NOT OUT 48 HOURS WHEN BRUCE RYAN CALLED--AND SAID HE WOULD BUY IT AS IS/WHERE IS   AND JUST GIVE HIM A NUMBER.. I TOLD HIM TO FIGURE OUT THE MAX HE WOULD PAY FOR IT  AND LETS HAVE COFFEE TOMEORROW---I DIDDLED WITH NUMBERS AND MET HIM-- WE WERE 10,000 APART SO WE SLIT IT, DREW UP A BILL OF SALE AND IT WAS HIS.. -- PART OF THE DEAL WAS HE WANTED MY PHONE NUMBER TO OGO WITH IT  ( IT WAS A 5000 NUMBER)-- I MUST HAVE HIRED A LAWYER TO GO TO THE REG OF DEEDS AND FILE THINGS..  BUT WE KEPT IT SIMPLE.   IF THEY EVER STARTED TESTING WELLS AND ROOFS AND PIPES ETC   I WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE YET.  BUT HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS BUYING...  WE HAD MANAGED TO LIVE THERE SO HE FIGURED HIS FAMILY COULD TOO.-- AND THEY DID... REPAIRING THINGS AS THEY WENT ALONG...-  IT WAS THE  12 ACRES HE BOUGHT-- TEHN THE OTHER REAL ESATE DEALINGS I HAD THAT ARE RELATED TO SDP.....MY FAMILY  1800'S  OWNED A FARM WHICH BECAME TEH CENTER OF NEW ROCHELLE, NY..  WE LOST MOST OF THE LAND TO TAXES AND HAD ONLY 3/4 AN ACRE LEFT....  WHICH IS THE DEAD CENTER OF NEW ROCHELLE. AND HAD BEEN A GAS STATION SINCE 1917-  WHEN THE GETTY LEASE WAS COMING DUE....  I DECIDED TO ASK AROUND... I DID NOT CALL AN AGENT, I CALLED  MCDONALD'S-- JUST LOOKED UP THE CORPORATE OFFICES AND BLINDY ASKED FOR THE REAL ESTATE DEPARTMENT... WHERE I INHERITED A NICE GUY NAME "JOE" - WHO SUGEEESTED  I HAVE "THE AGENT" CALL... AND I SAID "I DON'T HAVE ONE AND HOPE I DON'T NEED ONE. SO  IF HE COULD PROVIDE ME WITH  RENT PAID BY 10 McD'S IN THE AREA, WE COULD FIGURE SOMETHING OUT"  AND WE DID. MY SISTER AND I LIVED WITH "JOE"   FOR 2 YEARS WHILE MCDONALDS STRUGGLED WITH THE EPA AND TEH TOWN AND ALL THAT STUFF THAT WOULD HAVE COST A FORTUNE FOR US TO HAVE  A MATCHING  SET OF LAWYERS ON "OUR SIDE".   IF MCDONALDS HAD NOT  TAKEN OVER WE WOULD HAVE LOST  THE PROPERTY TO TAXES ($70,000 PER YEAR) SO WE FIGURED IF WE GOT ANYTHING, IT WAS A PLUS... IN THE DEAL, I SAID FRAN AND I WOULD NEED AN UNENDING SUPPLY OF THEIR "BOG"  CARDS.. ( BE OUR GUEST-- FREE HAMBURGERS ETC)-- AND WE LIVED OFF THOSE FOR 2 YEARS... UNTIL THEY ACTUALY STARTED PAYING RENT...  IT IS THAT MCDONALDS MONEY THAT ENABLED ME TO START SERVICE DOG PROJECT... AND CONTINUES TO HELP SUPPORT  SDP..  SO.. IN THAT KEEP IT SIMPLE VEIN --- MAYBE IF WE HAD AN ENVELOPE CAMPAIGN WE COULD GET MCDONALDS TO "MATCH"  MY DONATION... WE WOULD BE LAUGHING... BIG TIME... - BEFORE ANYONE WRITES TO THEM...... I NEVER KNEW  ANYONE HAD WRTITTEN DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO TAKE A BATH-- THE REAL BATH-- NOT THE FINANCIAL ONE...  SOMEONE SENT ME 12 BAGS OF  DEAD SEA SALT--  AND I THANK THEM FOR LOOKING OUT FOR MY HEALTH  AND WELL BEING...

SOME OF YOU MAY NOT REMEMBER SHEILA- A SIDEKICK WITH A VERY LIVELY MIND... TOOK ME AROUND TO ALL THE BATHTUB SELLERS SHE KNEW- AND HAD ME GET IN A BUNCH OF TUBS TO SEE "IF THEY FIT"... THERE ARE A FEW PHOTOGTAPHS OF THAT SHOPPING SPREE... A 75 YER OLD COMPLETE WITH RUBBER DUCKY TRYING OUT BATH TUBS... WAS A STORY I AM SURE WENT HOME WITHA FEW SALESMAN..  BUT  I BOUGHT A TUB...A LONG ONE...  FOR SOAKING ME----

 THE ONLY THING I KNEW ABOUT BATHING WAS FROM MY MOTHER WHO SAID YOU STARTED  THE WATER TO RUN IN THE TUB - GOT IN-- SAT DOWN... AND WHEN IT WAS DEEP ENOUGH SO YOUR BIG TOE ( NOW  BEING VERTICAL) WAS COVERED, YOU SHUT IT OFF.  THAT WAS CONSIDERED AN ADEQUATE VOLUME OF WATER WHICH AUTOMATICALLY CALCULATED  THE VOLUME OF YOUR SITTER  WHICH WAS ALREADY IN HTE TUB.

DERMOTOLOGISTS HAVE SUGGESTED MANY ADDITIVES TO MY BATH OVER THE YEARS-- SALT BEING ONE OF THEM-- AND I HAD TRIED A CUP OF KOSHER TABLE SALT BEFORE... AND THEN I GOT THIS DEAD SEA  SALT-  I FIGURED TEH DEAD SEA WAS PRETTY CLOSE TO THE KOSHER AREA AND WAS ABOUT TO ADD A CUP--TIL I READ THE DIRECTIONS..

A TUB NEEDED  2.2 POUNDS OF  THIS BATH THREAPY STUFF ADDED TO WATER 100 DEGREES-- NO HOTTER.. SOAK FOR 30 MINUTES ( NO LONGER) AND  THAT WILL GIVE TEH ESSENTIAL OILS TIME TO DO WHATEVER ESSENTIAL OILS DO TO MAKE ME  "GLOW"...

TO BE REPEATED 4 TIMES A WEEK  FOR AN INITIAL PERIOD OF A MONTH THEN TWICE A MONTH AFTER THAT... HOW'S THAT FOR INSURING FUTURE SALES?   AT 40 POUNDS OF THE STUFF PER MONTH, I HAVE PICKLED CUCUMBERS WITH LESS SALT THAN THAT...

I MEAN... IT WAS RREALXING TO ALMOST FLOAT IN THAT SALT WATER SMELLING LIGHTLY OF LAVENDAR- BUT  THERE ARE MORE INTERESTING WAYS OF GETTING PICKLED...  HOWEVER... I WILL TRY -- IF IT WORKS  IT SAYS I WILL  "GLOW"--

IF I START TO GLOW... MAYBE YOU SHOULD CALL 911 BECAUSE IT WOUOLD BE A WIERD ELECTRIC CURRENT AROUND HERE...

SO OUT OF THE CLEAR BLUE SKY- I GAVE HER A PAPER CUP AND SAID "WE DON'T ALLOW GUM CHEWING ON CRAZY ACRES.."  DONNA LOOKED AT ME CROSSEYED... WITH  "WHERE  DID THAT COME FROM?"

I DON'T KNOW WHERE THAT CAME FROM... EXCEPT MY LONG DISTANT PAST  WHERE ONE OF TH EPOEMS MY MOTH ER MADE US LEARN WAS THE ONE ABOUT THE COW  WHICH I FOUND ON GOOGLE.....

Well, it's been a week!! Hard to believe. Ahhh, a wonderful match! Thank-you for making it possible. Wicked's services were no longer required by her previous handler but she still wanted and needed a job! And as for myself, I needed a service dog after having to retire my Denim. Two "broken" souls. There will always be a place in my heart for my sweet Denim but a new spot has now carved itself out for Wicked.

Yes, she has had her nervous quirks which is totally understandable as she hasn't been exposed to any real continuity for some time. I just constantly remind her that she is doing a great job and that I love her. However, when I put that vest on, she immediately snaps into work mode. We have gone grocery shopping, gone to restaurants, walked the mall, walked around the neighborhood, attended a meeting, and attended a huge college track meet at BU. I am once again feeling that freedom of mobility that I had with Denim.

Greetings Linda & Kitty,

Just want to let you & Service Dog Project know just how much we LOVE the calendar!!!  You guys do a wonderful job with those and each month is so creative and cute!!  My parents are equalling enjoying the one we gave them for Christmas.  Not sure if you guys need any ideas for next year’s calendar or if you’ve done something like this in the past but have you ever had danes or a dane run a race track mimicking  horses or the KY Derby?   Maybe it’s because we are in Kentucky - horse country - but we constantly get horse references with Crimson. :)

Brian and Crimson have had a pretty good year so far! Since Brian isn’t traveling anymore with work we’ve been making more of an effort to get out a night or two after work (i.e. socialization - it can get lonely out on the farm in the winter months). So some of our friends asked if we’d be interested in joining an 8 week bowling ‘fun league’ at a bowling alley/arcade/laser tag/entertainment venue that recently opened. Brian, who had only bowled once before in his life, said “Sure! Why not!”  So that’s been a lot fun… took a couple weeks to get used to it but both are enjoying the experience and of course Crimson is a HUGE hit. This Wednesday is our last week but I think we may try it again next winter as well.  I’ll forward you guys a couple photos from my phone in a minute. :)

CP's LISA AND BRIAN CONE  CAME AND DELIVEREDS SUPPER TO US LAST NIGHT.. CHICKEN CACHATORIE  WHICH WAS  A SUPER SUPPER-- I THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE HERE FOR SUPPER.. BUT THEY LEFT BEFORE I GOT TO THANK THEM... IT WAS A GOOOOOD DINNER.

with regard to the collection of camera people who i have decided earned the title of "fannie farmers" .

we had several  very supportive notes for melissa- along with the few EMAILS that  had other suggestions-

THERE IS SOME  EXPRESSION ABOUT CASTING STONES WHICH I CAN'T REMEMVBER, HOWEVER..I DO REMEMBER THE VERSION "HE WHO LIVES IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULD NOT STOW THRONES"   .

WE HAVE AN EXCEPTIONAL GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF...I KNOW IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO BE PART OF SOMETHING AND NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE MORE INPUT-- BUT THE INPUT THAT IS CRITICAL IS THE CHICKEN BRICKS--.. WHEN ANY QUESTIONABLE SITUATION ARRISES.... I HAVE SPENT 4 YEARS TRAINING YOU TO DEAL WITH AMAZING THINGS....THERE ARE LOTS OF YOU   SENSIBLE CP'S  WHO SHOULD TALK THISE THNIGS OVER--( VERY PLEASENTLY SO COURTNEY APPROVES)  AND IF THERE IS 100% AGREEMENT  WITH ALL OF YOU CP'S THAT YOU SHOULD CALL ME...  THEN DO THAT...  THERE WAS THE TIME I FELL ASLEEP ON MY KEYBOARD AND YOU ALL TALKED IT OVER AND DID NOT CALL 911...  AND THEN THE TIME ANNIE FELL IN THE DONKEY STALL - AND CALLING ME  WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO... PLUS CAMERA MARK,, THE POKER CHIP MAKER...  SO THERE IS A WEALTH OF CAPABILITIES FROM WHICH TO DRAW ON PROPERTY-- PLUS ALL THE CP'S WHO COME UP WITH VERY ODD THINGS...

 WELL... AT THE MOMENT  I HAVE HAD  YOU CP'S GIVE ME SOME SOME INTERESTING IDEAS ABOUT THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. ONE PERSON IS LOOKING INTO SOLAR... I DID THAT LONG AGO- BUT IPSAICH HAS IT'S OWN ELECTRIC COMPANY AND THERE WAS SOME CONFUSION ABOUT  "NOT ON THE GRID" ..

WE DID LOOSE POWER IN THE HOUSE LAST NIGHT-- ENOUGH TO CLOSE DOWN THE CAMERAS... I HEARD TEH GENERATR COME ON... BUT THE LAUNDRY LIGHTS WERE STILL ON... DID NOT MAKE ANY SENSE..  BUD WILL PROBABY BE HERE TODAY (BUD = ELECTRITIAN RETIRED) 

WITH REGARD TO THE DONKEYS LYING DOWN FOR TOO LONG...  THE IMPLICATION WAS THAT IT WAS DEAD...-- NOW THIS WILL BE TOUGH FOR SOME  PEOPLE--WHEN YOU HAVE A BUNCH OF ANIMALS.. DEAD... IS GONNA HAPPEN,    WELL---    DEAD IS AN ABSOLUTE--- THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT DEAD... NOW 1/2 DEAD-- FOOT STUCK -- VERY ILL LOOKING --IS A PROBLEM..  BUT DEAD IS NO LONGER A PROBLEM  THAT DOES NOT RISE TO THE STATUS OF GETTING UP OUT OF BED-- THEY WILL BE JUST AS DEAD IN THE MORNING.

SHE WALKED AROUND A CORNER AND A DEAD HORSE WAS LYING IN THE DRIVEWAY- SHE IMMEDIATELY SAID IT WAS TEH EQUIVALENT OF AN AMISH FLAT TIRE...  DEAD IS DEAD.

THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS TO REACT  TO IN THE NEWS, I  AM AFRAID TO START... FIRSTLY- THERE WAS A BUNCH OF PEOPLE WHO OBJECTED TO THE LIVE BIRTH OF THE GIRAFFE ON CAMERA AS BEING TOO  EXPLICIT.....YET...  THERE WAS NO DISCUSSION OF HOW TEH BABY GOT IN THERE  IN THE FIRST PLACE...

MELISSA HAD A ROUGH NIGHT TRYING TO STAY AWAKE..  SO I AM SUGGEST IN  THAT SHE GTRY AND SLEEP WHEN THE PUPS DO... THIS MAY MAKD FOR  A MESS OR TWO NOT GETTING CLEANED UP AS PROMPTLY, BUT SHE DOES 4 NIGHTS AND IS HAVING TROUBLE SLEEPING IN THE DAY.-- TTHESE PUPS ARE OLD ENOUGH TO SCREAM WHEN THEY GET IN TORYBER- AS ONE DID YESTERDAY WITH HIS JAW STUCK IN THE GATE..

MEANTIME   THE YARD LOOKS LIKE THE BACKSIDE OF BROOKLYN  WITH CLOTHLINES HANGING BETWEEN TREES--  WE ARE TRYING TO ADJUST TO THE ELECTRICAL DIET WE ARE ON...AND STILL STAY SPOTLESS...

AND 2 OTHER MEETING  WHICH I CAN'T REMEMBER-- ALL I KNOW IS I SHOJLD NOT LEAVE HOME TODAY AND IT WILL ALL HAPPEN AROUND ME..

WE DID GET GEORGE'S SOFA AND RUGS-- NOW IN THE NEW BUILDING.. AND GOT  2  MORE MATTRESSES UPSTAIRS THERE..  I SAY UPSTAIRS... I MEAN "UP-LADDER"   AT THE MOMENT..  I AM HOPING  ONE OF  THOSE THINGS THT WERE THE CHRISTMAS TREES WILL ALLOW US TO GET NEAR THE "ATTIC" OF THE NEW BUILDING AND WE CAN JUMP/ CRAWL... THE LAST 3 FEET???

I AM TOLD THAT  HAVING  NORMAL STAIRS MEANS A WHILE BUNCH OF BUILDING CODES I DON'T WNT TO DEAL WITH... SO THE ROLLING STAIRDCASE WILL HAVE TO DO -- FOR THE MOMENT

THEN AS WE GET UP TO LEAVE AND BELLA TELLS GEORGE TO GET UP AND WE WALK OUT EVERYONE WAS SHOCKED. THEY ALL WANTED TO KNOW WHERE THAT GIANT DOG CAME FROM. BELLA JUST KEPT RIGHT ON WALKING. GEORGE FOLLOWED RIGHT BEHIND UNTIL WE GOT TO THE DOOR WHERE THERE WAS MORE ROOM. I LOVE HEARING ALL THE DIFFERENT REMARKS WHEN GEORGE EMERGES AFTER A MEAL! NOW WE ARE OFF TO BED.

THAT OVERNIGHT TV IS UPSETTING-- NOT JUST THE NEWS CONTENT WHICH IS ALWAYS GRIM, BUT THE ADS.... ESPECIALLY  THE LIST OF THINGS I HAVE TO WATCH FOR IF I-- DON'T-- /OR ALTERNATELY-- DO-- TAKE SOME PILL OR ANOTHER.-

ALONG WITH THE ADS I DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT THE STUFF DOES...- FROM BREATHING, TO VACUUMING YOUR NOSE TO,  SHIPPING LETTUCE IN FREIGHT TRAINS...

WHY DO THEY RUN A FREIGHT TRAIN AD?  THAT IS ONE THING I HAVE NOT DONE IS HIRE A FREIGHT TRAIN.... WELL....... ACTUALLY ... I DID...

MOST OF YOU KNOW CRAZY ACRES STARTED OUT AS 2 ADJACENT PROPERTIES... EACH ABOUT 6  ACRES.  I BOUGHT ONE AND MY HUSBAND BOUGHT TH E OTHER.- AND THE DRIVEWAY SPLITS THEM.---SEEING AS HE HAD MOVED INTO MY HOUSE IN LYNNFIELD,  I TOOK MY  MONEY AND SPENT IT ON  "MY SIDE OF THE DRIVEWAY"   AND IF HE WANTED TO LIVE IN A HOUSE, HE WAS GOING TO HAVE TO BUILD IT- MY SIDE WAS TEH BARN, AND TEH VERY SMALL GUEST HOUSE- WHICH WAS FINE WITH ME- SINCE I SPENT MORE TIME IN THE BARN ANYWAY.  IF I HAD A PLACE TO SLEEP THAT WAS WARM AND DRY, THAT WAS ALL  I NEEDED..

SOOO..... KICKING AND SCREAMING ALL THE WAY, HE BUILT THE HOUSE. NICE HOUSE- A BIT NORMAL..

 SO I DECIDED I NEEDED A CABOOSE-  ON  "  MY SIDE"--- AND WENT TO EIRE PENNA WHICH WAS THE CABOSSE SUPERMARKET AND SPENT THE DAY CLIMBING INA ANF OUT OF CABOOSI. FINALLY DECIDING ON NUMBER 267504?   THE PURCHASE PRICE OF $2500 INCLUDED DELIVERY TO MY "LOCAL CONRAIL YARD" WHICH WAS CHELSEA  JUST NORTH OF BOSTON.  . IT TOOK A FEW DAYS-- ONLY BECAUSE THEY DRAGGED IT ALL OVER NEW ENGLAND TO GET IT HERE... BUT .. I HAD A PHONE NUMBER I COULD CALL.. AND TEHY COUD TELL ME EXACTLY WHERE MY  #2675040 CAR WAS.

 I THEN HAD TO HIRE A CRANE AND WIDE LOAD TRUCKING COMAPNY TO TRANSPORT IT TO IPSWICH ( I THINK $2000)-- I HAD DRAGGED SOME RAILS INTO POSITION WITH A MULE  I HAD AT THE TIME

THEM THINGS IS HEAVY- BUT THE MULE WAS STRONG- AND AFTER ABOTU 2 DAYS EFFORT I GOT 2 RAILS LINED UP PARALELL THE CORRECT DISTANCE APART.

I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND OUT-- THE CABOOSE IS NOT ATTACHED  TO THE WHEELS--- HERE WERE 2 SETS OF WHEELS WITH A HOLE IN THE TOP-- AND THE CABOOSE HAD 2 PINS THAT JUST DROPPED INTO THOSE HOLES--- THERE WASN'T EVEN A COTTER PIN !! ---ONCE INPLACE THERE WAS VERY LITTLE CHANCE OF IT  FLYING UP OFF THOSE WHEELS.  WE PANNELED THE WALLS WITH PINE BOARDS  AND CLEANED IT UP IN GENERAL.IT WAS VERY NICE TO HAVE DURING MY KIDS COLLEGE YEARS-- THEY COULD  DRINK AND MAKE  WOO,WOO ,NOISES WHILE HOLDING ONTO THE RAILING IN THE CEILING.

TEH DETAILS- FOR THOSE OF YOU EXPECTING TO BUY  CABOOSI-- THEY DO MAKE A VERY STRANGE APPARTMENT FOR 2 PEOPLE WHICB CAN BE PARKED IN TRTAIN YARDS FOR ( LONG AGO) 50 CENTS A NIGHT... IF YOU CAN MANAGE THE NEIGHBORHOODS THAT INVOLVE TRAIN YARDS, IT IS A HUGE BARGAIN..  AND THEY CAN BE ATTACHED TO A  FREIGHT TRAIN VERY INEXPENSIVELY... 

HAVING THAT CABOOSE THERE WAS WHAT MADE ME REALIZE HOW NICE IT WOULD BE TO HAVE AN OUTDOOR PLACE TO SIT THERE... HENCE THE T TENT. THERE WERE 2 PROBLEMS  WITH THE CABOOSE, IT WAS AN INDOOR THING--  AND... TO CLEAN IT UP , I HAD A SANDBLASTING TRUCK COME AND BLAST OFF THE 9000 LAYERS OF PAINT-- ALL OF WHICH I AM SURE WERE LEAD PAINT..  WHICH THEY VACUUMED UP AS BEST THEY COUDL.. BUT I DECIDED TO PLOW UNDER  ALONG WITH MY ASPARAGAS PLANTS WHICH WERE NEXT TO THE CABOOSE.   

SO THAT IS MY STORY ABOUT FREIGHT TRAINS.

I know you've heard stories like this many times before, but I just came from my neurologist and wanted to tell you. Despite having a "degenerative" disease, my coordination and walking is better than a year ago.

It doesn't take much to know what has changed in my life! Jim calls Ava my thinking walker. I had hoped to get a dog, and I had hoped if I got one, it would make getting around easier. Although I knew that George and other dogs had made huge differences for their persons, I hadn't begun to hope that Ava could improve my mobility.

Thank you doesn't begin to say what I'm feeling.

I OWNED A 50 FOOT LONG HORSE TRAILER WHICH HELD 6 OR 8 HORRSES/PONIES- CONSEQUENTLY WHENEVER MY 2  KIDS WENT TO A HORSE EVENT ( LIKE THE 50 MILE TRAIL RIDE IN VERMONT)  WE PACKED IN MANY OTHER HORSES AND KIDS-- ( BEFORE SEATBELTS -- 4 KIDS BEHIND TEH DRIVER IN THE TRUCK)

AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO TRAVEL WITH A BUNCH OF GIRLS,  THEY SEEM TO HAVE SMALLER BALDDERS THAN A BUNCH OF MALES- AT ANY RATE...  I TIRED OF LOCATING  REST ROOMS--- SO I TOOK IVORY DISH SOAP  BOTTLES  AND SLICED THEM   AT AN ANGLE -- THIS PROVDED A SMALL CHUTE FOR  TEH DISTRIBUTION OF  FEMALE  HUMAN FLUIDS IN A MANNER SIMILAR TO MALE HUMANS---WITHOUT ALL THE DROPPING OF SNOWSUITS OR  TIGHT RIDING PANTS.. NEXT TO A TREE, -THEY WORKED ---THUS ELIMINATING TEH STOPPING AT GAS STATIONS WHICH - DRAGGING THIS 50 FOOT MONSTOR  TRAILER OCASIONALLY TIED UP TRAFFIC MORE THAN OCASSIONALLY.. 

SO I DECIDED I SHOULD PATTENT IT- AND HIRED A PATTENT ATTORNEY WHO HAD IT DRAWN UP AND DESCRIBBED IN LEGAL TERMS-- IT CLEARED TEH BOSTON PATTENT OFFICE  AND WE WAITED RESULTS OF FEDERAL--

WHILE WE WAITED, A FRIEND AND I DECIDED TO USE THEM IN TEH WOMANS ROOM OF AN  ITALIAN RESTAURANT ..  WE WENT IN-- LINED UP AND THEY WORKED NICELY  AND MADE THE FAMILIAR SOUND  OF FALLING WATER....... UNTIL SOME WOMAN WASHING HER HANDS BELLOWED " THEIR FEET ARE POINTING THE WRONG WAY !!" 

FINAL RESULT OF THAT EPISODE WAS  SOMEONE PASSED A PATTENT 2 WEEKS BEFORE MY APPLICATION

AND THE Y ARE NOW SOLD UNDER THE NAME OF SHE- WEE'S--APPARENTLY POLICEWOMAN CARRY THEM -- AS DOES MY DAUGHTER JANINE  IN HER SNOW SUIT.

IT IS A TRAILER  WITH  A COUPLE RIGHT ANGLES WHICH WHEN SWUNG DOWN FORMED A VERY STURDY RAMP.  UNTIL HE PATENED THAT  MANY CONSTRCTION PEOPLE WERE KILLED TRYING TO LOAD   HUGE EXCAVATORS ON TRAILERS  WITH CHUNKS OF RAIL ROAD TIES...

HE OWNED THE ORIGIONAL PATTENT- THEN SOME COMPANY COME ALONG AND CHANGED THE HINGE, AND HE NEVER GOT A PENNY. I HAVE A PICTURE ON MY WALL HERE SOMEWHERE

IF HE HAD 1/4 A PENNY FOR EACH ONE SOLD I WOULD BE EXTREMELY WEALTHY...

AND IT WIL GIVE US A CHANCE TO  GO AHEAD WITH EHT INSTANT HOT WATER HEATER A CAMERA PERSON OFFERED TO BUY FOR US...  THE DRYER WILL BE DELOIVERED MONDAY

I AM VERY HAPPY TO HAVE DAVID #1  CHIME IN ON ALL THIS-- AND I AM TOLD BUD #1 WILL BE ALONG TODAY TO  STAND AROUND AND THINK OF THINGS TO POINT OUT TO ME---- REMEMBER BUD #1 IS THE ONLY ONE AROUND HERE THAT READS MANUALS.... SO HE IS A WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE ( ALSO A LIC ELECTRITIAN)---

BY ELIMINATING THE SECOND DRYER  RELIEVES TEH PRESSURE ON THAT SYSTEM WHICH IS BARN LAUNDRY T TENT AND NEW BUILDING...

NOW FOR THE HOUSE... REDOING THE PANNEL WIL LHELP IDENTIFY A BUNCH OF WIRES I DON'T KONW WHERE THEY GO...

I HAVE ALSO UN-DONE/ELIMINATED ALL BASEBOARD HEAT--( EXCEPT IN MY ROOM :))) ) WE HAVE NOTES ON THE OVEN TO USE ONLY ONE COOKING DEVICE AT A TIME... ORDER OUT !!  SHOULD NOT BE TOO HARD.. AND THEY WILL BE INSTALLING A  NEW PANNEL THAT COULD TAKE 400 AMP SERVICE - EVEN THO AT THIS TIME WE HAVE ONLY 200 AMP.

.  THEN OFF TO THE CHAPEL.  IT WAS JUST IMMEDIATE FAMILY SO NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE.  I PUT HER FLUFFY DOWN AND SHE LAID DOWN.  AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES OF THE PASTOR SPEAKING ALL OF A SUDDEN IVY DECIDED TO DO A HUGE YAWN.  SOME, NOT ALL, LOOKED OVER AND SMILED AT HER.  THERE WERE A COUPLE OF GIGGLES ALSO.  IT KIND OF BROKE UP THE SOMBER MOOD IN THE ROOM.

electricity-- one of those things...i always  took for granteed... however.. experience comes from bad experience--   and  i don't like propane gas... especially underground. i saw the doctor's house that had a "gas accident" - where they were picking his wife's underwear off the tree tops. luckily no one was home. he was playing with his  new back hoe-- gas underground scares me... and don't tell me all about dig safe---  i had the dig safe guy here once and he went thru 2 cans of red  paint and finally said "did you ever think of just moving?" to "do it right" and bring in more electricity.. cranney made some noise about $100,000- at which point i immediately went to the clotheslines in the arena... which we have done before... bud will laugh at my descritpion of the problem i am sure- basically-- those 3 big  commercial electric dryers  are the problem..-- and the 100,000 was teh proposal to make them all run at once..-- and involved poles to the barn and more "legs..."  apparently electricity comes in legs of 110  so 2 is 220-- but if we had poles we could  go to numbers like 880. ain't gonna happen.. this reminds me of ... if you  have a bellyache and go to a surgeon they would wna to cut a hole in you-- but if you go to ab internist  they willl want to give you a pill and run more tests... so to listen to these electritians-- the only solution they can see is to spend $100,000- which we don't have.. plus it is against my religion to  not consider "alternative solutions"  which is what got us in thei mess in the first place... however... rethinking  out of teh electrical box...... if i turn in the electric dryer in the barn and replace it with a gass dryer-- gas is already there  in that feed room...in tanks for the furnace-   then that releives teh draw on that  "line" and we coudl just be aware of  what is on...- because the laundry building... t tent... cameras... new building... are all on that line----   that is the line that fried the meeter coming in from the street... there is electric heat upsairs in the training room which will be just plain removed... we have a darn good wood stove there.. so that will get rid of that accidental use. if push comes to shove there... teh water can be shut off.   that would still give us 2  commercial washer/dryer combinations  cleanliness is very critical around here.. altho there is much to be said for shaking and airing stuff that is not  dirty dirty... you may see more of that.... ** this leaves the house... which is not a house but a small dog factory...people motel...   in a normal house the few people that live there don't run everything at once...- but here--  with everything running we basically fried teh master  breaker on one side which is why we lost only 220 and still had teh 110..  lights computers   worked... but  loosing the heat , hot water and the blessed dryer here in the house. it may take more planning-- but planning is alot easier than raising $100,000-- this place is an IQ test, and we must rise to the ocassion...  if we had a switch in the cellar the made it possibel to run either the water heater or the dryer... that wold almost solve the problem there... for 69 cents.  wired correctly it would be idiot proof...  you could  only run one. if we add to that ... next biggest draw is cooking-- not that we do that much... but it wold be easy to   use only one piece of cooking equipment at a time..i.e.   you could either boil watter on the stove- or bake a chicken in the  oven.. but not both at the same time.... unless you went to the guest house... which has plenty of electricity ( and no commercial washer/dryer  and no room to put ont ehere either... besides-- stuff to wash is not generated there.)   add to that , that i only use my washer/dryer after 7pm.. when the rest of the place shuts down. all that is a heck of alot cheaper.... and immediately accomplished -- without massive hole digging machinery-- i will talk to the  "men"   today so moving foraward-- we need to buy a gas dryer --replace teh spagetty of electrical wires at teh board in the house-- with a board that eventually could accomodate more "legs" in case we ever need them for real..  my real question is...  with my  "half vast"  knowledge... how come if we overload there is just not a switch/braker... that trips... isn't that waht is supposed to happen?  isn't that why we have  all those breakers in the cellar anyway????  i never knew that properly wired--- if you turned on too many things the house would burn down...  so something was basically wrong...and i need to understand-- which may be difficult  -- granted--- why  over loaded breakers didn't break...  could be that drunk guy... keeping in mind that the origional electritian who wired this house... drank on the job...   time has come to get rid  of that problem...  which may mean we end up with only one switch per light fixture- and we may not be able to  operate teh garage door while sitting  on the luu. we will learn to manage.  -- for 100,000 you bet your sweet bippy we will. ************* other than that ...everything is normal.. ****  well almost--  janine sent me a picture of her load of donkeys rescued from the slaughter  auction in penna-   i took one look and noticed  she did not have just 12 donkeys... but one huge mule standing very quietly with a bunch of mini donkeys packed under her ample belly in janine's trailer. now janine is a pretty good judge of horses...and donkeys..   there has to be some story about this mule... which has landed at janine;'s house- and is.. according to megan "huggable" and "aged"  with scars of having been  worked in harness.   hmmmmmmm.... i think grace and i should go and evaluate that situation...  it could be considered an educational event..

you have to know the facts..

#1 one of the things that gives  crazy acres it's unique atmosphere, is that the guy who wired the house drank.  this is why if you are entering the upstairs bathroom and you turn  on the switch by the door, the garage light goes on.... i have lived here since 1979  and i still don't know what switch does what.  when we first moved in, i wrote a nasty note to the kitchaid dishwasher company bescause the first time i tried to use it , it "blew up" with smoke..-- it was not long after that the garbage disposal self distructed in a great flurry of metal parts.. being a student of probability,  ...it was discovered he had wired 220 to both machines...  it was perhaps my first run in with the building depoartment in ipswich.....  several months later , the guy was still drinking--- and working in ipswich... and i was so mad, i never botherd to get an "occupancy" permit for this house.

this house had started out as a normal house with normal 220 service...  the barn...guest house.. and laundry bldg.. are separate services/bills  .. the fact that the house  had morphed to a small motel with kennel privlidges meant that the normal "board"  had  produced a "baby board" off to one side- and the only breaker i knew for real was theh 50 amp thing that started the pump in the well which i used once a year to water the flat field... now that we have the luxury of town water..(and believe me town water is a luxury probably unknown to 94% of the people reading this...)

#2. as you all know-- my hearing  is way less than perfect..

#3. yesterday was a holiday--- a fact totally over my head-- all the dogs needed the same care - holiday or not.

#4. i always knew that cooking was something to be avoided--  pam put a pan of water on to boil... 

and the  fun began.

my computer rebooteed itself-- not totally unusual--it did wierd things--i put another $4 in the swear bear and  adjusted my thinking.. moving on...  grace tod me we needed an new tv fot the sundroom.. it ws doing strange things.. the darn heater  next to the pups was blinking "off" again-- david 1 came along and said i was going to have to "call cranney"  the company who had put in out instant on generator and dealt with  the electrical board in our cellar. david told me  we had " lost a leg in the main board, -- and if i told cranney tht, they would understand.

so i called "cranney" - the comapny which has done a huge amount of work here--2 instant generators - barn and house--rewired teh entire laundry buildnig to be rat proof..  furnace in the barn  etc...

 it was before 5pm and since i did not know it was a holiday, i assumed the person answering the phone was the normal secretary/receptionist......eleven puppies got very happy nd started barking at each other just as  she started in..'how do you spell carlene?" followed by  "is that b-o-x-f-o-r-d- road?"  and tehn it blew my mind "and the zip?" ---- i said  "just let me talk to the electrical dept" -- she said  " i can't until i get the information i need. now what is the zip"  i  was still thinking she is at some computer in their office...and i asked   "i brian there?"-- when she said "who's brian?" i knew i was in trouble... brian is brian cranney.-- i think  she said someone would call-- i coldn't hear....45 min... no one called... so i called another of cranney's numbers  and the guy started in with  "how do you spell carlene" all the way to  "and the zip code?"--we figured out he wa an answering service--  but i had the wrong number for a commercial service which- he determined i was if they billed me... --someone would call-- and 1 hour later they didn't..  we built a bigggggg fire iin the fireplae...

i hated to bother sheila-- who is sheila cranney-- because she had deserted our sinking ship in Massachusetts  and moved to florida- and i am sure she was no longer even aware of things like februrary with no heat and 60 dogs( plus me) not suited for no heat.....  but i emaled her- which she must not have read for another hour.. because all of a sudden i got 2 calls from their emergency depts. 7  minutes apart - really promptly teh guy from nh started in right away to get here... because when the second one called-- from  "right down the street"  i could not turn off the first.

in the meantime we had determined that shutting off as much electricity was was convenient, the kerescene furnace would work-- and that strange flickering of the lights.... which i attributed to my old age... stopped.

we had  alot of the things that were 110  but had lost the leg that made us 220 so they patched us for the night so the 110 didn't flicker and quit- which meant the keresene heater by the kitchen would work --  they also removed one dead/fried mouse which may have precipitated the entire thing.

it also meant that my bedroom got colder than some cold part of a witch...-so i was  glad to get up at 4am... and am readuy tp welcom an entire cranney crew to replace that entire board with something that would not make   bud cry every time he looks at that  wall of spagetti..

 rumor has it we need "another  leg"--  but i will let cranney company decide that one.  the 2 guys who came here-- on the holiday were very nice and very knowledgable  and i wss exgremely happy to see them-- and i must go write a yelp thing about  terriffic service

i expect us to have electricity sht off and on for most of the day-- so please pass that around so no one bothers explore.. and--- it iwll maybe give me the opportunity to label teh breakers as they install  a new board.

  i will try abnd keep the cameras going-- but heaven knows-- or maybe goldie does..

TOTAL LACK OF INSPIRATION TODAY...

SPARKLE IS HERE... AND SEEMS TO HAVE SETTLED IN VERY NICELY-- SHE IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND IS BENTLEYS SISTER... WITH A VERY GREY FACE...OVERWEIGHT SEEMS TO BE HER BIGGEST ISSUE-- STEVE OR MEGAN CAN TAKE HER OUT TODAY AND SEE HOW MUCH SHE REMEMBERS... SEEMS LIKE A NICE DOG.   JUST ASKED  VERY POLITELY TO GO OUT-- WE HAVE THE FENCES UP  ISOLATING THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE AREA, BUT I DON'T THIN

SHORT DOGGIE -- PUPS ARE NEED ING COOKIES ----THAT NEW PUPPY CAMERA IS WORKING GREAT !!

I DID GET THE CAKE DELIVERED TO THE GEORGETOWN FIRE DEPT...  WITH A COUPLE DOZEN  FRESH EGGS-- THEY ALL APPRECIATED IT... SAID TEHY ARE BEGINING TO TAKE NOTE OF THE 19TH OF THE MONTH.---- I WOULD TAKE ONE TO TOPSFIELD- WHICH WOULD BE MY CLOSEST... EXCEPT... THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE ... OR THE DOOR... OR MY BLOWING MY HORN RIGHT IN FRONT OF THIER TRUCKS... VERY STRANGE--   IPSWICH IS 8 MILES AWAY...MAYBE I WILL GET THERE TODAY... THEY AARE THE ONES IN THE CALENDAR...

Appreciation Day at Cottleville, Missouri Fire Department.

My belated Valentine Cake was delivered today.  I find it very interesting that all these men know about this special day, even if they are new to the station. When they see us coming, we are always greeted with a big smile.

 EVE AND FINN...

Saturday we got together with Don and his family. Don is the "angel" in Eve's My Team Triumph team. My Team Triumph teams runners with people who cannot run, they train and they run races together! Eve gets to ride in a deluxe running stroller and Don runs and pushes her. Last year they did a 5k in 

November and Eve loved it! A. She had a great time and did really great with Finn in that new environment! Not only that but we got home and Eve decided her and Finn were taking a walk ALONE!! So I let her --- well sorta I 

followed at a distance hiding behind trees LOL She knew I was there but was content if I kept my distance. She walked all the way up hill and around the culdesac and back. They took a couple breaks but did amazing!!! ( again I fell down on my job as photographer-- story of my life!) Our awesome neighbor    came out and walked with her for a bit too! The whole thing was so sweet and a great accomplishment for both of them. Finn was a little unsure about what was going on because they went as soon as we got home and he couldn't understand why they weren't heading for the house but she got him going 

and they did great!!

Grace received a message from Maureen (nurse w/ Cara) Curley's partner. Maureen was a nurse, has/had Cara, and had been volunteering for quite awhile. Maureen collapsed Thursday and passed away Friday. The calling hours are from 4-7 on Thursday at Twomey, LeBlanc and Conte funeral home in Newburyport.  She said the obituary would be in tomorrow's paper. Grace will be going.

I HAVE   AS I TYPE ALL 11 PUPS  CHEWING AT MY FEET.... THEY HAVE GRADUATED TO THE CONDO--  THAT MARVELOUS  APPARTMENT COMPLEX DAVID 1 MADE FOR THEM ABOUT  A YEAR AGO...

I REMEMBER... .IT WAS DURING THE PHASE WHEN EVERYONE WAS TELLING ME "DON'T WORRY ABOUT EVERYTHING... LET PEOPLE TAKE OVER"    WHICH IS ALL WELL AND GOOD AS LONG AS YOU WATCH WHAT "OVER" EACH PERSON  IS TAKING... AND IN THE CASE OG DAVID AND THE CONDO.... I FORGET WHAT OTHER DISASTER I WAS DEALING WITH-- BUT I WAS AWARE THAT EVERY HOUR OR SO DAVID WOULD COME OUT OF THE CELLAR WITH A SHORT 2 X 4  AND DISAPPEAR INTO THAT BACK FROM... FORTUNATELY  I WAS BUSY ENOUGH AND I HAD ENOUGH FAITH IN DAVID 1---   THAT I LEFT HIM ALONE....  BECAUSE HE DEVISED THAT SYSTEM OF DOG BEDS  FAR BETTER THAN I EVER WOYOLD HAVE. 

SO WE NEEDED TO MOVE THE CAMERA---WHICH I HAD BEEN AVOIDING.... THEN YESTERDAY I REMEMVERED WE HAD ?300 FEET? OF CABLE--AND 100  FUNNY ENDS IN A CUTE LITTLE HANDY DANDY BOX OF  ***RJ45*** ENDS  -- I KNEW HOW-- IT IS NOT A CASE OF BRILLIANCE.. IT IS ALL COLOR CODED....-- BUT WHAT I DID NOT HAVE WAS  HANDS STEADY ENOUGH TO GET ALL THOSE TINY WIRES EXACTLY WHERE THEY BELONG.. ENTER TANNER-- WITH HIS 14 YEAR OLD HANDS?  AT ANY RATE HE DID IT.  2 ENDS AND THE BLINKING TESTER TOLD US HE HAD THEM RIGHT..

YESTERDAY'S 20 GIRLSCOUTS TURNED OUT TO BE 20 ADULTS FROM A CORP IN MIDDILTON- SO THEY NEEDED DIFFERENT ENTERTAINMENT---  ALONG WITH SEVERAL APPLICANTS , I DIDN'T MOVE OUT OF MY CHAIR MUCH YESTERDAY... I WILL WRITE ANOTHER BOOK JUST AS SOON AS I FINISH THE 14 I HAVE ALREADY STARTED IN MY HEAD.... WHICH WOLD HAVE TO BE AFTER I FINISH GETITNG SUED FOR WHAT I HAVE SAID INT THE FIRST 13. 

WELLLLL... WE SEE IT WHEN WE ARE OUT DOG TRIANING...  MEGAN FALLS AND WE ALL STAND AROUND AND WATCH HOW SHE AND THE DOG WORK THERI WAY OUT OF THE PROBLEM--MORE  OFTEN THAN NOT PEOPLE RUSH INTO HELP HER ON HER FEET- WHICH - WITH REDCIPIENTS IN THLONG RUN IS COUNTERPRODUCTIVE.  WE HAD THIS HAPPEN IN A SCHOOL WITH ONE OF OUR RECIPIENTS, WHO FELL FOR REAL-  AND 5 OF US JUST STOOD AND WATCHED-- IT WAS A STRUGGLE, BUT SHE GOT ON HER FEET WITH THE DOG'S HELP-- AND WAS SHE  THRILLED "I DID IT !!" - AND I CNA ONLY   THINK HOW HARD IT IS FOR A PARENT TO LET THIER CHILD STRUGGLE WHILE THEY WATCH... BUT HOW HAPPY THAT KID WAS TO HAVE DONE IT HERSELF !!

INDEPENDENCE IS SUCH A CRITICAL WORD IN CHILD REARING-- SOMEWHERE I DECIDED TEACHING MY  CHILD TO BE INDEPENDENT WAS ONE OF MY  PRIMARY GOALS--JUST THINK OF THE LEARNING PROCESS- HOLD YOUR OWN CUP, FOLD YOUR OWN LAUNDRY- EARN YOUR OWN MEDICAL INSURANCE AND ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD--- (WHICH CAN PROGRESS INTO  AND SUPPORT ME IN MY OLD AGE !!!!.) -

IT IS CERTAINLY EASIER TO DO THINGS FOR KIDS....

HER HAND WAS THE SHAKING VARIETY SO  ONLY A FEW HALF SPOONFULS  LANDED IN HER MOUTH AND  NO WAY COULD HER SMALL SHAKING HAND MANAGE THAT LOVELY BIG APPLE.....NO ONE THOUGHT TO CUT THE APPLE SO  SHE COULD GET SOME OF IT IN HER MOUTH-- THERE ARE SOOOO MANY TIMES THERE NEEDS TO BE AN ADULT IN THE ROOM...  -

it never occured to me in yessterdays  dd  that when i said sizzle decided she should stay by me so she did n't get hurt or scared--- that any one would assume i was doing the hurting or scaring....good heavens no... it was the world in general.. like the dangerously noisy puddle we faced together..."and people in costco driving metal objects full of treats and grabbing at me... then finally we all stand in a group and they squeeze us thru a narrow passage which makes wierd noises and we get a ticket to go back out the door."  she is definitely in the "look i don't understand any of this stuff, but since you seem ok with it, i will go along just incase any food drops on the floor," 

personally i was totally unprepared for the number of people who stopped me to say what a beautiful dog she was..--- much more than bentley with his harlequin color..  i mean people comment on him.. but this was words like regal- striking.... clean...perfect.. -- so i should stop looking at her like the 

pain-in-the-ass that i can not get to even pick up a basket !!

i did get her to walk with the wooden dumbell in her mouth.. i did not start the treat business.. because with her and most any dog-- if they pick up the proper thing and you say good dog, they drop it and you treat them, they think they got treated for dropping it.. and that is hard to overcome !!  that is where i have been with her

so now she is eating  that nice hardwood dumbell..  ?this is progress?

so yesterday i bought a packet of  beef in 2" x 6" hunks... to once again try...now i know that to cut it up across the grain makes this cheaper cut of stewing beef so much more chewable... problem now is i can not stand up for the legnth of time to cut the beef-- and then the carrots legnthwise so they get cooked

donna is a very good cook-- so i am hoping-- i have additional feelings about  the pursuit of the perfect stew...  you doin't cut the mushrooms so anyone who does not like mushrooms can find them and not inadvertantly put one in their mouth...heaven forbid...-- then there is the fluid part of the stew.. which generally has all the seasonings in it-- if you don't thicken it with flour or corn starch, it does not stick to the meat so that you have some lovely soup and cardboard tasting lumps of things...  like meat and carrots..

now carrots-- you would think --- well never mind..  at costco carrots come in huge bags of Ppealed--- they are pealed to the point of being small carrots - should be  perfect for stewing .

i buy these carrots- and i did again yesterday-  but i know full well there are at least 2 other partially used bags of carrots in the fridge-- that can only be described as  "tired" - which is  exactly what donkeys love... tired carrots...  so why are they in my fridge??  i had to threaten people with their removal.

but it is the part of "pealed" that  fascinates me..once upon a time .. you threw pealings away-- that is before a more creative bunch got involved.. i just read where i should not put butter in my mashed  potatoes,  but take the pealings and fry them in butter, bake til crisp and  ten chop them up in my mashed.. that is all i need ---labor intensive potatoes.

pealed--what about those skinless boneless chicken parts i will bet more than one cookie.. that dog food companies have that perfectly good source of  protien  in the dog food we feed... we got trained to fear the fat that was contained in the skin... so they take it off and sell it back to us as dog food.

that is why the dog food labels contain  ingredients like carrots, peas, potatoes, and teh deboned chicken (  technically, skin is deboned). ...lots of types of dog food have  "egg product"  makes me wonder what  the world does with all thos e egg shells-- i bet the are ground up into something...probbly chicken food.... "layer pellets"

so we have chickens who are beginning to lay eggs-- lotsa eggs... so maybe this 19th of the month we should give the fire dept a dozen "farm fresh eggs"  instead of-- or in place of teh cake bit??

lord know there would be none fresher !!

worms    ---good morning new dog owner....

they all have worms-- we worm every 3 months with "all wormer"-- which is a wonderful generic wormer from austrlia that is not sold in the usa in one pill--

however   sounds like your vet did a fecal  so  you know what kind of worms- and he/she can sell you med for that specific type.. but in the next 3 months i  would suggest you look at the all wormer.

i think it is petsmegastore.au  where we get it.   heartwormer is the only thing thing you need beside that-- and your vet will sell you that .. the vet brand has a flea killer in it so with one dog that is probably what you should use..  

the ivermectin we use ... 1/3 of 1 cc per month is onlavailable tht i know of in 50 cc cattle size..  so you wouold be better of wih the normal.

worms are a fact of life--

( i used to worm my kids when they were  younger too.. animals are animals)

not only was it Eve's Bday but she had a field trip at school too. Her class dropped off some food at a local food pantry. It is was sort of a kick off for a class project where they will continue to collect food and help out at the food pantry. They also got a tour of the entire church that the pantry was located in. It was WAY more walking than I anticipated so Eve went in w/ Finn and without her wheelchair. It was pretty cool though because she really pushed past her limits she even went down (slowly) an entire flight of stairs with Finn!!!! She chose the elevator to go back up - I don't blame her. She wasn't willing to push herself before like that but with Finn she goes for it! Not only in walking but I'm seeing it in other areas of her life as well!

After that the kids got to go to McDonalds for lunch and play in the playland. Finn was a super star ⭐️ and so was Eve⭐️

Things are quiet here, finally. Fiona and I had four Birthdays over the past two weeks. She is always up and ready to go.She is also plowing through the snow and just loves it. If you and Megan and everyone at SDP had not hand fed her and taught her all the steps in her training, we would not have been able to do this. I love your training sections of the DD. It makes me appreciate, all the more, the love and training that went in to make Fiona the wonderful partner that she is. I love her dearly and all of you at SDP. There is a place in heaven for you.

i think i have some massive revision of a training definition around here..   how much is training and how much is proving to them if you do what i say you won't have  any reason to be afraid of stuff... all danes being timid in the first place...-----

yesterday i took sizzle out with me to go to staples- around the farm she has been known to be a little independent..i.e. not coming immediately when i call her ( which is one of the most critical tasks.)   i had her alone.. without bentley.. and as i got her out of the car,( with her harness  and collar on of course) a car went by and splashed a puddle-- she didn't "bolt"  but she did a quick   HS "holy sh1t"  fortunately my hand was right on her harness and i very quickly  said "stay" and we just stood there while cars splashed that puddle- after which we walked past it and into the store. i think the way she saw it was..." if i just do what she says, i won't get hurt." -once in the store i asked her to   "down"   and she dropped-- flattened her head even.. and never moved--- until i asked her to get up .

we left she stayed exactly by my leg as we passed teh cars and  i led her around thaat  "dangerous"  puddle. i was very careful to say "stay " while i took off her vest. and told her to jump in-- she did exactly what i said  and i was careful to tell her exactly what to do " wait-"  - before  she jumpeed--- then "ok"  to run off which she did...

we can see how today goes, but i think she has had a mental "bolt of lightening..." like that  "water moment"  in the hellen keller story  where helen finally realizes that her teacher ann is trying communicate with her...

watching the movie  "miricle worker"  should be a requirement for all dog trainers... the entirre movie is of the out of control animal that helen was is worth watching--  but if you are short on time.... that one section 

can be googled  "helen keller water moment.

i am not sure it wil have anything to do withsizzle  holding a basket in her mouth.... but at least she was thinking yesterday and not just reacting

teh reason i was at staples was  to get  the new  SDP tree of bloodlines printed  ( soon for sale in the doggie bag) -  we will  be selling  the laminated  colored version for  $25 + $5 for mailing tube and postage.  and the black/white also laminated for $10 + $5----   pam will be putting them on the web/daily doggie .. soon..

there are sooooo  many advertisements that annoy me-- mostly teh  lightbulbs that last up to 20 years... right  !!    one  week is certainly "up to 20 years"  but there is another  "this medication must not be given to a child under 6, blah  blah  blah  and should not be taken by someone under 16"  the givens and takens probably have some significance  but i find it offensive.

teh geico ads aren't bad... but nothing compares to

Dear Carlene,

Zeke is amazing at many things: helping me up and down the stairs, walking down the streets of Disney World during April vacation, getting me to all my physical therapy appointments, helping me walk around the house during the day, helping me off the floor during a 2nd grade math game...

The training at the SDP is amazing, and last night Zeke showed off his amazing training like he does many Wednesday nights. Wednesday nights are dance night for my youngest daughter who is 7 years old. When we arrive, there are toddler boys and girls driving there little trucks all around. Zeke lays down and the toddlers continue to drive and crawl right by him. Then at 5:45 the magic happens. Fifty 7 and 8-year olds with their parents walk right by Zeke, within inches of him, leaving and coming in, putting on boots, putting on tap shoes. He just quietly watches until the dust clears.

Sometimes I feel like a broken record. Zeke is an amazing dog. The training at the SDP is magnificent. Everyone would have been proud of the job Zeke did last night and everyday, for that matter. Thank you to everyone who supports the SDP!

 Time for the Wrinkle update. What a wonderful gift you've given me. Our little girl has settled in to her new home wonderfully. Axel and Otto (dachshunds) sleep right next to her and all three are getting along great! We go out for walks, go to the grocery store, Walmart, the bank, and everywhere we go she gets compliments. Compliments not only on how beautiful she is, but more importantly on how well trained she is. Steve, Megan and EVERYONE at SDP have done a great job on her training and temperament. Every time time we go outside we practice, practice, practice! She's so sharp on all her commands and does so well at recall, she constantly amazes me. We're becoming this great team and because of your generosity I'm able to get back parts of my life I'd thought I had to give up on. Her empathy is boundless and her sweet personality melts everyone who meets her! I'm working hard to be worthy of your gift, please share this with everyone at SDP so they can know that your tireless efforts are all paying off. I told you before, but it bears repeating, "thank you" doesn't come close to how much you've all changed my life! It's our 2nd Anniversary today 😍😍it's is the year 2015 & the month is February & the day is Friday the13th😜😜(oh my) the time is a little after 7 pm. The place is Service Dog Project guest house. My life is changed forever for the better when Grace brings to me my partner, Princess Ruckus!! I reflect on an emotional week of new friendships both human & Canine, training with lots of snow & cold & fear in my abilities. First time out training Ruckus puts her head on my hand & looks at me with those soulful eyes and says " hey lady, we got this." Two years latter, the rest is History.
