OK.... here we go
NOTHING IS EVER SIMPLE- ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU TRY AND MAXIMISE EVERY OUTCOME...
THE 2015 CALENDARS ARE PERFECTLY WONDERFUL-- AND WILL BE DELIVERED NEXT WEDNESDAY..
HOLD ON.... SO WHAT WERE THE 18 HEAVY BOXES DELIVERED LAST THURSDAY?????
TURNS OUT.... THE PRINTER STARTED PRINTING BEFORE THE FINAL CORRECTIONS-- AND HE ENDED UP WITH A --- PROBABLY 2000-- RUN OF "MISPRINTS" -- SECONDS..... FABUOUS FAILURES.....
KITTY TALKED TO HIM, AND HE OFFERED THE "RUN" TO US .. UNSTAPLED FOR $1000- KITTY AND I TALKED ABOUT IT AND FIGURED WE COUDL DO SOMETHING WITH THEM-- THE PICTURES ARE PERFECT BUT THERE ARE 18 TYPO KIND OF THINGS.. SO SHE SAID WE WOULD TAKE THEM- FIGURING WE COULD BUY PHOTO MATTS AND SELL THE PRINTS AS WORKS OF ART-- WHICH THEY CERTAINLY ARE...
SO I EXPECTED A HUGE BINCH OF UNSTAPLED PICTURES--- HOWEVER HE STAPLED THEM INTO CALENDARS FOR US.... SO NOW WHAT DO WE DO???
KITTY PROPOSED WE SEND THEM OUT WITH THE PERFECT CALENDAR ORDERS AS EXTRAS- TO BE SHARED WITH FRIENDS AND RELATIVES-- WHATEVER..
PEOPLE WHO HAVE ALREADY ORDERED WILL GET WHATEVER THEY ORDERED OF PERFECT ONES PLUS A COUPLE OF THE "SECONDS"
I REALIZE THAT COULD CUT OUR SALE OF THE PERFECT ONES...., BUT I HAVE TO TAKE THAT CHANCE... ASKING THAT YOU TRY AND ORDER WHATEVER YOU NORMALLY WOULD - AND TREAT THIS AS A BONUS------ HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE A WAY TO INTRODUCE OURSELVES TO MORE PEOPLE WHILE GIVING ALL OUR CP's A GIFT TO GIVE...
AND -- PER USUAL-- ALL SYSTEMS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. BEST OF ALL WORLDS WOULD BE TO RUN OUT OF BOTH PERFECT AND FF CALENDARS... WORST WOULD BE CARTONS OF CALENDARS GETTING DUSTY AND DIRTY IN THE HAYLOFT .
*****************
SO HERE WE GO.. SEND IN YOUR ORDERS....
( AND KEEP BUYING THE CHICKEN BRICKS-- I SEE WE ARE OVER 1/2 SOLD AND ON THE HOMESTRETCH... I WILL UPGRADE THE THERMOMETER ON THE FREEZER AFTER BREAKFAST)
THIS MAY BE THE NOTICE WE PUT ON THEM.. MAYBE.....
Congratulations! along with your perfectly wonderful 2015 calendar , you have received this SDP "fabulous failure" calendar. All of the photos are fabulous, but there are several typos and missing items in this calendar, making it less than perfect. Rest assured, all of the calendar dates are correct, but if you compare this calendar to YOUR "Grade A" calendar you will find 18 minor differences. Can you find them all? first clue ----the CORRECT DATE FOR April chicken sunday is xxxxxxxxxx.

HELLO CARLENE,
THIS IS IVY TINGLEY. IT HAS BEEN A YEAR TODAY SINCE I WAS PLACED WITH MY HUMAN, BETTY. THIS IS MY STORY AS MY FIRST YEAR AS A SERVICE DOG. IT HAS BEEN A LONG ROAD BEING A DEVOTED SERVICE DOG. THE TRAINING IS CONSTANT, BUT I AM DOING GREAT. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I DO FOR MY MOM IS GETTING HER UP AND DOWN STAIRS AND GUIDING HER THROUGH THE STORES WITHOUT THE FEAR OF FALLING.
THE FIRST TIME WE WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE I WAS A LITTLE NERVOUS. THERE WERE JUST SO MANY FOOD STATIONS, SHOPPING CARTS AND PEOPLE STARING WHICH MADE ME A LITTLE BIT UNCOMFORTABLE. I GOT OVER THESE DISTRACTIONS QUICKLY THANKS TO THE REASSURANCE FROM MY MOM.
WE ALSO TOOK A TRIP TO NEW HAMPSHIRE SO I COULD MEET MY GRANDPA FRED. WHEN WE WALKED INTO THE ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY IT WAS LUNCHTIME, AND OF COURSE, WE HAD TO WALK PAST THE DINING ROOM. EVERYONE, AND I MEAN EVERYONE, STOPPED TO LOOK AT ME. I JUST STOOD THERE AND WAS SO PROUD. THEN, I GOT TO MEET MY GRANDPA FRED. HE WAS IN BED AND WHEN HE SAW ME, HE INSTRUCTED THE NURSE TO PUT HIS BED IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION. HE WAS REALLY SMILING, WHICH MADE MY MOM REALLY SMILE. HE THEN STARTED TO PET ME AND MY MOM SAID IT WAS OK FOR HIM TO DO SO. IT WAS A GREAT DAY FOR MY MOM AND ME. IT WAS SUCH A REWARDING FEELING TO MAKE OTHER PEOPLE SMILE AND BE HAPPY.
SOMETHING ELSE I WAS NOT TRAINED TO DO, BUT I DO ALL THE TIME, IS STICK MY HEAD IN THE SHOWER WHEN MOM IS IN THERE. I REALLY DON'T LIKE GETTING MY FACE WET, BUT MY FIRST CONCERN IS MY MOM AND MAKING SURE THAT SHE IS SAFE AND STANDING. I REALLY WORRY ABOUT HER FALLING SO I MAKE SURE I KNOW WHERE SHE IS AT ALL TIMES.
MY NEXT BIG OBSTACLE WAS THE HOSPITAL. I AM NOT SURE IF IT WAS THE SMELLS, BUT AGAIN, MY MOM ASSURED ME THAT I WOULD BE OK. WHEN MOM WALKED WITH ME INTO PRE-OP, THERE WERE SO MANY CAMERA PHONES THAT CAME OUT AND WERE TAKING MY PICTURE. THE HARDEST THING WAS THAT EVERYONE WANTED TO PET ME, BUT THEY KNEW THAT THEY COULDN'T. WHEN MOM WAS IN PRE-OP THE NURSES WERE AWESOME. THEY HAD WARM BLANKETS WHICH MY MOM THOUGHT WERE FOR HER. LITTLE DID SHE KNOW THAT THE NURSES HAD PUT THEM ON THE FLOOR FOR ME. THEY ALSO BROUGHT ME BOTTLED WATER. I FELT REALLY COMFORTABLE AFTER THAT.
THE HARDEST PART WAS WHEN SHE WENT INTO SURGERY. FOR SANITARY REASONS, I WAS NOT ALLOWED IN THE OPERATING ROOM. DURING THAT TIME, MY DAD TOOK ME BACK HOME SO THAT I COULD DO MY BUSINESS AND GET READY TO WELCOME MOM WHEN SHE GOT TO THE RECOVERY ROOM. I WAS NEVER SO HAPPY TO SEE HER. SHE ACTUALLY HAD TEARS IN HER EYES WHEN SHE SAW ME.
THROUGH OUR TRAVELS, IT WAS EVIDENT THAT WE WERE OUTGROWING OUR JEEP CHEROKEE. SO, WE WENT TO MY MOM'S BROTHER-IN-LAWS DEALERSHIP TO HELP US GET A NEW VEHICLE. I HAVE TO SAY THAT THEY WERE SO ACCOMMODATING. THEY MADE SURE THAT THEY GOT ME INTO A VEHICLE THAT I WAS COMFORTABLE IN. WE TRIED OUT A FEW AND FINALLY SETTLED ON ONE. IT IS GREAT AND NOW I CAN LAY DOWN AND HAVE GROCERIES ALL AROUND ME AND STILL FEEL COMFORTABLE.
WE DO EVERYTHING TOGETHER. IF MY MOM IS COOKING, I AM RIGHT THERE WITH HER. IF SHE IS IN THE BACKYARD, I AM RIGHT BY HER SIDE. WE WALK DOWN THE DRIVEWAY TO GET THE MAIL. MOST HUMANS TAKE GETTING THE MAIL FOR GRANTED, BUT MY MOM WAS ALWAYS AFRAID OF FALLING. BUT, NOT ANYMORE.
THIS PAST YEAR HAS BEEN VERY CHALLENGING FOR BOTH OF US, BUT REST ASSURED WE ARE DOING IT.
I REALLY LIKE GOING TO THE HAIRDRESSER WITH MOM AND DAD. EVERYONE JUST LOVES ME THERE AND THEY ALL RESPECT THAT I AM A SERVICE DOG. IT GIVES MY MOM A CHANCE TO EXPLAIN TO THEM EXACTLY WHERE I CAME FROM, AND WHAT I CAN DO FOR HER. THIS ALWAYS BRINGS A SMILE TO MOM'S FACE.
ABOUT A MONTH AGO, MOM WAS TRYING TO GET OUT OF BED BUT SHE WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN SHE JUST COULDN'T. I WENT TO HER SIDE OF THE BED SO SHE COULD BRACE. I QUICKLY REALIZED THAT THE BRACE WASN'T GOING TO WORK, SO I TOOK IT UPON MYSELF TO PUT MY FRONT PAWS ON THE BED SO THAT SHE COULD WRAP HER ARMS AROUND ME TO GET HERSELF UP. THAT WORKED REALLY WELL FOR HER.
I AM SO THANKFUL FOR YOU, SDP EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS AND ALL OF THE WONDERFUL CPs.
THAT IS ALL I CAN THINK OF FOR NOW, BUT I WILL BE SURE TO KEEP YOU POSTED OF ANY NEW DEVELOPMENTS.
WITH MUCH LOVE,
IVY TINGLEY
