Ok. I need help. – can someone please explain this photo. I did not take the photo, but I was there !
While at my computer someone called and said “you better get 0ut to the Deagle house”- expecting an animal emergency I ran. Only to find Chuck Fitzpatrick driving the tractor which was full of broken firewood looking lumber which was once 5 kennels in the deagle house. Lynn George and Jen Fitzpatrick were standing about 20 feet away in the driveway, but did not respond when I asked what the heck was going on/ Chuck told me loudly to get out of his way... Nick arrived with a chair for me to sit in and I kept asking what the heck.... these 5 kennels were perfectly good heated, airconditioned kennels with 100 foot runs.. I used them , sdp used them and volunteers and guests used them. Why had they been destroyed? No answer-just. “ get out of my way... you don’t belong here—or I will call the cops”- which I thought was a great idea/---as amatter of fact when he continued to tell me how ---he no longer had any respect for me and I should not even be there.... I too called the police and asked them to hurry......
Police arrived- and in their best de-escalation methods – talked with Lynn and Jen—then came to me—it is tough situation to try and explain in 25 words or less so I suggested we get a court opinion before moving anything-in the meantime return everything to it’s original place. The policeman thought that reasonable so Chuck put the stuff back at least in the Deagle house but not the way it started... I do think that decision is still in effect... lets get some judge to figure out what is needed.
At that moment there were 18 SDP dogs on the property ( the pups plus older dogs )—and.... the original agreement with SDP was the 10 kennels known as. 1 to 10.. to which I added 11 to 16 ( I forget the cost of those.....) but I do remember the $90,000 that ICU building cost... between the building inspctors plumbing design and the dept of aggi sterility requests..there were another 4 kennels... that is 20 individual kennels .. many of which would / and do. hold 2 dogs.
point being no shortage....
now if the mission of SDP was to train and donate dogs to people in need, can anyone explain to me why 18 dogs were in the kennels in the barn while the 2 main officers of SDP were engrossed in the destruction of those 5 kennels ? What could be a necessary connection—to destroy a useable – and in an emergency like blizzard...- an absolutely critical heated place to put a dog If the heat fails.
I cannot tell you how many nights sleep I have lost over how do I cope with the 50 or 60 dogs I had in my care-I had all sorts of back up plans... which included the duplication of heated areas. To destroy the 5 perfectly good kennels made no sense to me then or now., what COULD POSSIBLEY BE THE MOTOVATION...?
