SPEAKING OF HAY  - I HAVE A PROBLEM... I HAVE A STANDING ORDER FOR HAY AND GRAIN  WHICH WAS BASED ON THOSE HUGE CLYDESDALE HORSES AND MULES JANINE PARKED HERE--- NOW GONE..,.  BUT I WAS BUSY WITH  DOGFEST AND ADI AND DID NOT CUT THE ORDER BACK... SO YOU CAN BARELY GET DOWN THE ALLEYWAY FOR TEH PILE OF GRAIN BAGS AND HAY BALES.

THt pile of grain bags is an invitation to dine and then enjoy the process of recreation....-- to the rats that i am sure we still have-- tho many fewer of them-  there was one point in my career wher if i had a pile of 8 bags of grain, by the time i went to dump them in the barrel, teh bottom bag would be empty...- at one point you could not walk to the barn at dusk and not see one or two running the top of the fence toward th laundry building;l    thanks to the owls, we no longer have those..

altho..... winter is coming and a few will be back from their summer vacation in the forest- and i would expect to see  more "on camera"  til next april.

i took out a couple dogs yesterday-- including one "that bites"  wwwhhhaaatt????????? 

so i went out with him --- hospital and stop aND SHOP- and gave him every opportunity to bite me

HE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN NICER-- I TALKED WITH SHANNON ABOUT HIM--

 SHE SAID HE SNAPPED AT HER-- with bared teeth--  WHEN SHE ASKED HIM TO GET ON THE GROOMIMNG 

TABLE...SHANNON IS A VERY NICE LOGICAL PERSON-- BUT I HAD TO SEE IT firswt hand....

I HOPPED HIM UP ON TEH TABLE AND WAS VERY STERN WITH HIM WHEN

 HE KEPT STANDING UP AND I WANTED HIM TO LIE DOWN... WHICH HE EVENTUALLY DID..

ASIDe  FROM LICKING ME IN TH EFACE, HE DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHIGN WRONG...

CAUSING ME TO JOKE WITH  shannon  "what did you do to him?"- i was joking, but i meant it.

there has to be some reason he snarled at her-  and devin ... and megan  -- but not me---

 and we better figure it out.

could be he was hurting somewhere. .

..or  could be the reputation  of "biter"  causes a fear in the handler- who tehn snatches up

on teh leash causing fear in the dog.

i  usually have faith in these dogs-  and to have a normally sweet dog turn and offer to bite

means something is wrong somewhere...

i am 100% unwilling to say that any dog who bites is bad--

i am 77% convinced a human's action  caused the bite somehow.

and they aRE ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINION, expressing it the only way they can.

there is some reason.

many are entitled to bite

 thinking back to   the worlds greatest dog   " george"  biting bella mom- rachael---

 because rachael was making bella giggle and george did not understand the giggle. 

george's  bite was his way of saying stop doing that.  he was entitled to bite--

most dogs are honest-- you ask to be bitten you will be ! 

as opposed to humans who are far more random biters

people come in our front door-- chaos is  sound asleep on the sofa- 

the person immediately starts patting her- waking her up-

just think how dangerous it is to wake a person out of a deep sleep.

conclusion... not all biters are bad---  but some can be

 therein lies the difference.

RIZZ IS  ---beyond perfect.....I always marvel at how well she takes on new situations and experiences. We just got back from going to my nieces wedding in Arizona where she had to deal with flying, crowded airports, a rental truck, staying at a hotel, and the whole craziness of the wedding itself....she just takes everything in stride like it is a normal day. She is truly a remarkable dog!

JUST THOUGHT-  TEH REAL CRIME IS  ---I BETTER NOT SAY ANYTHING NEGAtive about anything....  I HAD TO GO BACK AND REREAD THIS-- WHICH IS SOMEHTNG I DON'T OFTEN DO... OBVIOUSLY 

i did not say a word For days on end.... IT WAS PAINFUL

HOWEVER-- THAT WOMAN FROM ADI Was excellent at her job of inspecting us...--

 very pleasent and had done her homework 100%-

at teh wrap up-- there was only one suggestion she had- and it was... thankfully ...a paperwork detail.  IF SHE HAD COME UP WITH A BETTER WAY TO HANDLE  OUR DOGS, I WOULD HAE BEEN VERY UPSET WITH MYSELF FOR NOT THINKING OF IT.

 the problem is anyone can hang up a sign that says they are a dog trainer.  ADI trys to define responsibile facilities.

to me... a dog trainer  is one with a perfectly trained dog...

MANY TIMES A dog trainer is one who  has taken anone hour "course" and been awarded a "certificate"   or read a book and learned a bunch of long words...while thier dog is out of control in spite of all the  theorys about leather collars, harnesses, head halters, and clickers..

therefore my "inspections" would be a 1 minute visual of  how thier dogs behaved... and i would not waste time worrying if a word is spelled wrong in our bylaws.

when i first started and found out i needed bylaws,  lu just said "copy mine" which worked well for 15 years.. now i have to read them????

reason being-- and this is teh main pitch of this venting......

a whole bunch of people have taken over the world with their "WHAT IF's"

you must protect yourself against  teh one person who  is unhappy about what your do and hires a lawyer..

the fact that we have 175 people  very happy with our dogs is not enough to satisfy this FEAR system... LEGALLY, MEDICALLY OR POLITICALLY.

at the tender age of 81 i have becomje a bit pizzed at being told to be afraid of teh yet unknown.

this "yet unknown"  is a very creative bunch-- there is no way we could possibly be prepared for ---some of the  things we have  already faced and overcome.- like parvo and teh fake boston bombing victim  but most of our accomplisnhments did not involve a lawyer

somehow--- i think teh unhappy person who was not given a dog would not stand a chance  in court against bella ... eve.. hunter... etc

in this accredidation process i find it necessary to buy a police quality bolt cutter... becasue i know-- it is only a matter of time that the  teh key to massive lock system to keep our files  "Safe"  will be mis-[laced and we will need to cut  the lock.

you laugh?? teh lock on our medical  supplies-- we needed something  quickly on a weekend- and no one here on a weekend knew where th ekey was..

HOW DO WE DEAL WITH EMERGENCIES?? ?..... 'for instance'--- donna fell- breaking her shoulder-  linda called 911--- megan dealt with donna,--- and i went to get the ambu in teh driveway.

not one of us ever thought  to go unlock teh medical file and find out what we were supposed to do.

so what started as megan and i  training great dogs has morphed into a huge wagon load of paper that we must drag behind us to satisfy all the "what if's" 

counter productive are some of the more pleasent words that come to mind.

but i didn't say a word.

 which brings to mind--- "if you see  a bank being robbed  and you say nothing, does that make you as guilty as the bank robber?"

WARNING--- DULL DOGGIE..

SO FAR SO GOOD- I MET WITH THE  ADI PERSON  FOR A COUPLE HOURS YESTERDAY- AND SHE WAS QUICK TO SAY IN ABOUT EVERY WAY WE ARE DIFFERENT FROM THE NORM.... WITHOUT SUGGESTING WE ADAPT TO THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER NORM.-- AT LEAST SO FAR.  SHE HAS CERTAINLY READ OUR INFORMATION AND ASKED GOOD QUESTIONS-- AND KEPT TO HER SCHEDULE-- WHICH WAS MEGAN AT 3:00- I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO ACQUIRE ANY EARTH SHATTERING TRAINING TIPS AS FAR AS SEEING EYE TRAINING GOES...

TODAY  SHE WILL BE INTERVIEWING RECIPIENTS,  VOLUNTEERS, STAFF, AND THINGS LIKE THAT.. ON A 30 MINUTE SCHEDULE.

THE REPORTS WE HAVE  ON TEH SICK DOGS SO FAR  DOES NOT REVEAL ANYTHING  UNUSUAL. I WAS WORRIED WE HAD MISSED SOMETHING.. AND CALLED 7 VETERNARIAN OFFICES IN MASS... AND ALL SAID THEY HAD  "CONSIDERABLE"  KENNEL COUGH. 

AT THE MOMENT ALL  OUR DOGS CONTINUE TO BE HEALTHY-- WE ARE KEEPING A VERY CLOSE CHECK ON EVERYONE

THE OTHER EXCITEMENT IS- OUR PROJECT OF ADULT DAY CARE CENTERS IS MOVING  ALONG.  THERE IS A WOMAN IN MI?  WHO HAS SOME GRANT OR ANOTHER TO STUDY WHAT WE HAVE BEEN STUDYING...  THES PLACES ARE ONE SMALL STEP ABOVE A JAIL.

CLEAN DRY AND FED--- IS ABOUT IT.    SO WITH ELIN FROM GOOGLE--  WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO MAKE A DENT.  SOMETIME IN OCTOBER... NOT THIS WEEEK !!!

I AM GOING TO TAKE THE DAY OFF AND BUILD A ROCKET STOVE... WITH TEH   25  FIRE BRICKS  WHICHN ARE IN THE BACK OF MY CAR..  TEH CONCEPT IS A VALID ONE OF CREATING A SMALL  UPWARD DRAft  so  a few twigs will do the job of a FEW BITS OF ACTUAL FIREWOOD        

IF I HAD ALREADY SEASONED MY NEW AFRICAAn "POT" I WOULD BE COOKING IN IT TONIGHT.

THE BIG DAy of adi arrival-- linda has worked very hard over this  and if  teh papers are not ready, they never will be--  i need to find a bottle of champainge for her.

i had hoped to get into a good discussion about training techniques - these 2 people are from guiding eyes- and i have always wanted to train a seeing eye dog. however...... we will be side tracked... with   the bug.. .

all dogs- as of yesterday were healthy----GRANTED--- THERE IS SOME BUG AROUND THAT WE DO NOT UNDERSTAND AT THE MOMENT...  IT SEEMS TO HAVE GONE THRU THIS PLACE

-we  DID have a bad case of kennel cough-- that in itself is not usually a  problem.. except we had 2 dogs develope a massive lung infection- could be a different bug-- or could be from coughing so hard they inhaled stuff they should not have got in their lungs.  we have swiped   and swabbed.. and sent  the bits away for investigation-- all of which--- so far---  haVE come back with normal reports.  we have sent remains to tufts for  complete investigation...

 this COUGH is airborne- on your clothes- so to contemplate asking volunteers here to take off their clothes when they go home and wash them in chlorox-- is really extreme when teh vets at teh hospitals handled our sick dog and just go see the next patient without even hand washing.....   JUST THINK ---PET STORES -- DOGGIE PARKS AND ALL THE PLACES DOGS CAN PASS A SNIFF... IT IS AROUND-- NOT JUST AT SDP... 

 SO I HAVE INSTITUTED A POP UP CHECK OF ALL DOGS TWICE A DAY..  GO ROUND WITH SOMETHIG GOOD-- LIKE  CANNED FOOD-- AND BE SURE THE DOGS POP UP FOR A SPOONFUL... AND IF THEY DO NOT, TAKE THEIR TEMP AND TELL ME IMMEDIATELY.

MY SUGGESTION  IS THAT ALL OF YOU   JUST WATCH YOUR DOGS VERY CAREFULLY-- AND TAKE THEIR TEMPS- THIS STUFF IS ALL AROUND- AND YOU JUST WANT TO BE VERY AWARE OF HOW YOUR DOG FEELS...AND  GET AHEAD OF ANY PROBLEM..  GO SEE YOUR VET IF TEHY GET A TEMP  ( NORMAL IS 101- 102)

AT THE MOMENT  I THINK WE ARE HEALTHY-   LIKE SOMEONE WHO JUST JUMPED OUT THE WINDOW OF TEH 70TH FLOOR.. SO FAR SO GOOD.

I CAN CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND IF SOMEONE DOES NOT WANT TO BRING THEIR DOG HERE... I AM TOLD THEY SHED THE VIRUS BEFORE THEY START COUGHING.. WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY REAL  COUGH  HERE FOR DAYS-- BUT WE SURE HAD IT.

AS THESE REPORTS COME IN , I WILL LET YOU ALL KNOW... WE HAVE SEVERAL  MD's  AND VMD's IN OUR DAILY DOGGIE GROUP.  AND I CERTAINLY WELCOME ANY SUGGESTIONS FROM MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS.

I ASKED ZACK TO DO A DEMO AT DOGFEST, JUST TO GIVE PEOPLE AN IDEA OF WHAT SOME PEOPLE DO FOR A LIVING...  HE WAS NOT A TRAPESE ARTIST-- AND THANKFULLY HE CUT OFF ONE  TREE LIMB WHILE HE WAS 80 FEET IN THE AIR JUST TO SHOW PEOPEL HOW TO DO IT BEFORE SWINGING AND MAKING ME VERY NERVOUS !!  YOU SEE NICELY TRIMMED TREES AND  NEVER STOP TO FIGURE OUT HOW THEY GOT THAT WAY..

SORT OF LIKE PEOPLE SEEING A PERFECTLY BEHAVED DOG AND HAVE NO IDEEA HOW THEY GOT SO WELL BEHAVED.

I WILL STAY AWAY FROM TEH CONCEPT OF  PERFECTLY BEHAVED CHILDREN--- YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY GRANDPARENTS OFFER ME THERI GRANDKIDS WHEN TEHY SEE BENTLYE OR SIZZLE.- AND IT IS  THE GRANDPARENTS...  THE PARENTS ARE TOO BUSY TRYING TO CORRALL TEH  ACTIVEITY...

PART OF TEH PROBLEM  --- SINCE YOU ASKED MY OPINION---- IS THE LACK OF PHYSICAL EXERCISE THAT PRODUCES A SIGNIFICENT RESULT..-- MY FAVIORIUTE IS STONE WALLS... 

 OLD YANKEES HAD IT RIGHT  WHEN RAISING CHILDREN....  " YOU JUST GO ADD 5 FEET TO THAT WALL BY THE BACK 40 AND THEN WE WILL TALK ABOUT FEEDING YOU DINNER."  A STATIONARY BIKE WITH A CELL PHONE IN ONE HAND DOES NOT BUILD TEH CHARACTER OF STONE WALLS.

NOW THERE IS NO RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HOURS WORKED AND  SURVIVAL GAINED.. WEEDING THE POTATOE PATCH  HAS A WHOLE DIFFERENT LESSON THAN  GRABBING A POTATOE OFF THE SHELF. 

I DON'T KNOW WHO THE BRILLIANT IDIOT WAS THAT ELIMINATED PHYSICAL EXERCISE IN GRADE SCHOOLS SO THERE WOULD BE MORE MONEY FOR OTHER ACTIVITIES MADE USELESS BY THE FACT THAT THT KIDS WERE ALL BOTTLED UP FOR LACK OF PHYSICAL MOVEMENT AND COULD NOT LEARN ANYTHING THAT WAY...

MEGAN WILL TELL YOU... IT IS USELESS FOR HER TO TAKE A YOUNG DOG OUT FOR TRAINING IF IT HAS NOT HAD A GOOD RUN UPA DNDOWN PUPPY HILL TO GET RID OF SOME OF THE EXCESS BOUNCE..  KIDS ARE NO DIFFERENT

I SEE ON TV.. A BUNCH OF TEENAGERS STANDING ON  THE CORNER- DOING NOTHING- AND AFTER I FINISH WONDERING WHERE IS THEIR PORTAPOTTY.... I WONDER WHO IS FEEDING THIS BUNCH?

this was the swingingest dogfest yet....teh big kid's swing was  a huge success with all the big kids here-- of which tehre were alot...  the other swing was zeke-- our resident tree trimmer who  threw a rope over a tree some 90 feet in the air then another on teh other side of the field-- maybe 80 feet  up... climbed between them -- tehn let go of one rope  and swung BIG TIME-- it is not the kind of thing conducive to making an error, in the maze of ropes and knots and slip knots

my kids swing-- complements of chip--- is truely a beautiful thing-- with my huge monkey fist int he middle and 2 "air chairs" on either side-  those air chairs are teh most comfortable recliners going. canvas  complete with beer/water holder  --10 years ago they were$100--  now-- same thign- same airchair name is $26

knots---- scott aubin gave a short talk about his book "knot today"-- which he signed for anyone... scott is the one that landed in my office- having just tried suicide, was alchoholic, had a warrent for his arrest-- and a few other gems.... but dash liked him so i DID A CORY CHECK ON HIM ( FOR $99.00)  gave himn "dash"  and told him to pay it forward.. which he is doing big time.. working withthe staTE OF NEW YORK  WANDER ING AROUND AS SPEAKER... HE IS GOOD AT THAT

 we took the pups out for everyone to see-- because of teh kennel cough we had a couple weeks ago, their traqining is way behind... and i was not sure they would follow megan- or anyone.. so i made  my 2 wagons into puppy cages-- put megan  and 6 pups in one and devin and 5 pups in the otehr with 8 sidewalkers and it was a huge success --- both days... .

i forget how doing normal things  is entertaining for  people not normally  involved.... ther e shojudl be a good photo of megan giving walter a bath with teh help of 4 other people-- luckily he is huge and could accomodate 5 scrubbers...

we have a shakedown meeting of the board tomorrow night--there were alot fo "near misses" during dog fest, but our standard crew more than pulled theri weight so at the moment  the place is neater than it was before all those people came and went.

I am sure your weekend was full of thank you’d from everyone attending Dog Fest, so I want to add mine.  I wasn’t able to attend dog fest, because I was attending my niece’s wedding in Arizona.  Going required a 5 hour flight and 2 hour drive after we had worked all day.  The wedding was a typical cowboy wedding, held outdoors on very rough ground.  As I played the wedding march on our Great, Great, Great Grandfather’s 180 year old fiddle and watched my beautiful niece walk down the path to her future, I looked down at Rizz and was overwhelmed with gratitude for the sweet dog and all of the SDP community that made this moment possible.  What Rizz gives me is precious moments.....Thank you and SDP for making this moment and all of our future moments possible!

fun time !!  the number of adults swinging on my "new swing set"  was amazing..--

 one critical thing i learned--- is dogs do not like  "giggle" -- i sat with bentley and watched several adults  swing and giggle-- and  i actually had to hold him back... he wanted to go and do something which didn't look like it would be a good thing....-- he recognized it as a strange thing.---AN ANIMAL IN TROUBLE... LETS KILL IT....---- put that on top opf teh  day thaqt bella's mom was swinging her in circles  and bella was giggling and george really did nip rachael  -- i saw teh video-- george was not kidding..

i have felt for a long time that  many of teh dog bites in the news are precipitated by   some rough housing that the dog just decided to join in wolf style...a giggling child sounds like an animal in trouble-- teh usual wolf response woudl be to help kill it-- fortunately in george's case he decided to bite the person causing his partner  what he thought was distress...

other than teh rope stretching so teh monkey fist is nearly on the ground.... all went well--

 lobster and beef  and shortckae  WELL CONSUMED...

 the puppy train of tractor and 2 wagones  with twin size mattresses was a huge suggess..  megaN  IN ONE.. DEVIN IN THE ONEHR  WITH A BUNCH OF PUPS  WHO QUICKLY GOT USED TO THE RIDE AND HAD A GGOD TIME.

THEN MJEGAN OPUT HER 600 POUNDS OF DANE IN TEH RAV4 AND PICTURES WERE TAKEN WHICH SHOULD INTEREST  TOYOTA...HER DOGS ARE WELL SCHOOLED  AS THEY SHOULD BE...

 TODAY...MOST ALL OF THIS  SHOLD BE ON TEH PUPPY HILL CAMERA...

NOW THAT WE ARE SAFELY HOME, I JUST WANTED TO BREAK DOWN WHAT LAST NIGHT’S MEET AND GREET MEANT TO US. OUR BEING ABLE TO BE THERE WAS SUCH AN HONOR. TO HAVE THE CHANCE TO ONCE AGAIN SEE SOME FRIENDS AND TO ACTUALLY MEET MANY OF YOU FOR THE FIRST TIME WAS INCREDIBLE. SO MUCH LOVE IN THAT ROOM! , HE DIDN’T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. HE IMMEDIATELY FELT AT EASE IN THE ROOM, SOAKED UP ALL THE LOVE BUMBLE GOT AND TRULY ENJOYED A SOCIAL OUTING FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER A DECADE. TO SEE HIM SMILE, LAUGH AND TAKE THE INITIATIVE TO ENGAGE IN CONVERSATIONS BLEW ME AWAY. HE SAID TO ME ON THE WAY HOME, “WE TRULY INHERITED AN ENTIRE FAMILY!” HE’S SPOT ON. portapotties arrival today-- how is that for excitement ??  i can not think of how to make that interestinfg or educational.. except that ... it is possibel to  have them bring a handicap accessable one..  i slide somewhere between a private residence and one that should have handicap accessable-- and teh temp "shed" is the solution for when the general public is invited.. which tehy are on sundays-- and this weekend-- both sat and sunday...

next week... i promise to address teh microphone problem... that is mind blowing.... with a person who's mind is a little drafty anyway...   the problem is-- now pay attention...  a malfunctioning "off" switch.-- doesn't sound like much.. however-- after 5pm mail call. i was turning it off and people would call me and say they coud still hear me.-- so i began unplugging it-- well 2 years of unplugging has now caused a defictive plugger... so the mic now has 3 phases...OFF.... BUZZZZZZZZZ... AND ON. 

but that is not  the whole problem when OFF and BUZZZZ  14 people call me to say it is  not on- so i diddle with it after teh first call- and maybe getting it to work.. so teh next 13 calls are on live--- which has  a 2 minute delay--  but i still have my speaker on so the 13 calls are repeATED BY TEH COMPUTER FEEDBACK.- THAT MAKES 26 BELLS  WHICH CAN THEN BE  EVEN WORSE AS I SEARCH FOR A REAL PHONE IN TEH CHAOS OF MY DESK.. LAUREL AND HARDY COULD NOT HAVE A MORE BIZZARRE SKIT.

I DO HAVE ANOTHER MIC HANGIGN  ON THE WALL--  I CAN'T REMEMEBER IF WE GAVE UP ON THA ONE BECUAS WE THOUGHT RUNNING THE PARLELL WIRES WAS CAUSING THE BUZZZ....  WHICH WE LATER FOUND TEH MIC CAN  BUZZZZZ FOR NO REASON AT ALL./

 MINE GOT STALLED IN TEH FINAL PROCESS WHEN A FRIEND AND I WEERE TESTING THEM IN A RESTAurant ladies room... and someone noticed our feet were pointed in teh wrong direction for a ladies room,. so i missed the federal pat office by 2 weeks.

my faith in pat offices is not great- i see  my father's 1945 pat  loading ramp at least 10 times a day and he never made a dime on it because the  trailer compayies changed teh hinge and  the pat neveer held...

so after dogfest i will  dig into this one...- boy coul d i use it.... to be discussed at a future date..

ROTARY BREAQKFAST TODAY==  GOT TO GET BENTLEY  AND SIZ FED AND EMPTY BY 6:30 am - DOGFEST T SHIRTS ARE ALL OVER TEHE PLACE.. ALONG WITH CALENDARS, ANDPUPPY BREATH GIFTS  WE ARE NEARLY ORGANIZED... WE HAve NEW TArps up all over--- the others are a bit green i finally-- after ?? years.. have a tractor that is small enough, yegt big enough to pull the 2 wagons on which i can put dogs.... we put on fencing so manybe puppies -- and can make it all around the housr--  both front and back wheels turn to keep them exactly in the track of the towing vehicle -- you have all see ones like that at the airport hauling baggage...   these are heavy duty-- sporting new tires and nearly new  twin size mattresses... i did use one at a time in a parade- but 2 were too heavy duty for the donks to pull -- i eventually made 3 lighter ones- thanks to a friendly welding company  and i did carraCTURES OF  BUSH, CLINTON AN D PEROT ON THEM IN PARADES--  IN SALEM PEROT GOT A BROIKEN AXLE AND WE HAD TO PULL THE PIMN AND LEAVE HIM BEHIND.... HOW SIMBOLIC WAS THAT?? -- YOU CAN SEE THE 3 CARRACTURES HANGING IN THE BACK OF TEH ARENA--- IT WAS A POPULAR PARADE DEAL.. PARADES USED TO PAY $1000 A PARADE-- SO WE DID ALOT... LKE EVERY WEEKEND... PAID FOR ALOT OF  COLLEGE TUITION WITH IT. *** teh power of persuasion----TV ADS...  I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO DISCOVERED ( AND HOW IT WAS DISCOVERED..) THAT  JELLYFISH HELPED MEMORY....   MAsingeill douche removed skunk spray from  dogs.....SHELLFISH GROUND UPA DN SPREAD ON YOUR FACE MADE YOU LOOK YOUNGER--- INSTEAD OF FOOLISH.  those aren't bad-- but  the rumor abotu a  rhinoceros horn  has devastated the rino  population..  why can't we apply the same nonsensical  action to unwanted species like those fish working toward th great lakes..or wild pigs  . ****  rotary-- luckily  early morning is my time of day--  i don't do supper things.

washing my hair scares me-- as well it should... what would  happen if i got all soaped up and  teh hot water failed... i do not like being cold, as a matter of fact----- i now keep a hair dryer next to my desk-- so if i com in from  even cool weather, there is noting like a quick shot of warm air from the hair dryer down the front and back  of  my shirt.

hair has played a large part of my life... i always had long hair-- i could juswt  sit on the ponytail even braided... even if i preferred to be outside playing, my mother sent me to the hairdresser far too often in my book.. and to make it worse, to have a cream rinse was an extra 50 cents- and very often my mothere  decided that was too extravagant and i would suffer the combing of very long hair...- for teh men who read this ( anD BY OUR DEMOGRAPHICS-- THERE ARE MORE THAN A FEW..)  cream rinse makes the hiar slippery-- sort of teh WD-40 of life with long hair.

bigger is not always better--- as a matter of fact it is sometimes worse...  teh green golf cart-- an ezgo- is teh smallest ezgo-- which  also has  teh shortest turning radius, and lowest for  any handicap  people to get  into.. my red 4 seater is away at teh fixers... the  red 6 seater is lovely-- and tall  -- and ornery-- bud has to have a discussion with it frequently--  the industrial size green one is teh workhorse of the groundskeeping crew-- and there is teh  "is that still running?" old green one--  answer is-- yes-- with 6 new batteries it carrys on... literally.

makes me really believe in electric cars... filling these batteries with distilled water.. is the only additive aside from an overnight plugin.

feral hogs---cake day and dog fest--- where to begin...

feral hogs... i have mentioned these before---  and warned that these hogs... which are basically huge rats... are moving north... now i hear a golf course in new jersey was  redesigned by a small group of feral hogs. 

i remember........ i had a pet pig once-- lucy.. bought it from a pig farmer for $7  so the kids could train it for the crazy circus we put on every august--  one key-- we fed it only grain-- and it didn't have that awful odor of a meat eating animal.... she did dig things up-- i saw her diging a perfect 6inch deep trench right across our lawn-- and as she approached the driveway, i thought -"  that dirve is hard packed from years of 30 ton hay trucks, that'll stop her" 

it did not even cause her to pause an instant..- i don't know what those noses are made of, but i would have workeid hard with a pick and shovel to make the same trench in that driveway... 

they are like raTS... CAN EAT ANYTHING... ADAPT TO ENVIRONMENTS  AND ARE VERY INTELLIGENT. THEIR  AWKWARD PHYSICAL SHAPE-  (AND INABILITY TO SWIM?) MIGHT MAKE TH E HUDSON RIVER THE SAVING GRAQCE FOR NEW ENGLAND.

MAKES ME WONDER HOW  THE   FIRST YANKEES-- SORT OF "PRE PAUL REVERE"  EVER GOT FROM BOSTON TO PHILADELPHIA- TO SIGN ANY PAPERWORK....   THE CONNECTICUT   RIVER IS BAD ENOUGH... BUT THE HUDSON IS A SIGNIFICANT BUNCH OF WATER... EVEN IF PRE PAUL  IT WOULD ALSO BE PRE POLLUTED.  YOU DON'T WADE OVER THAT ONE.

 TO ME... GROWING UP IN NEWBURGH,,  TEH CONCEPT OF BEACON, ONE MILE AWAY.... ACROSS THE RIVER-- WAS LIKE A FOREIGN COUNTRY. NOW THERE IS  A BRIDGE -- ROUTE 84 AND PEOPLE GO SHOPPING IN BEACON...

 MORE  PROBABLY BEACON PEOPLE CROSS TO EAT AT THE  GOOD DINER  RIGHT ON RT84 IN NEWBURGH- THEY HAVE BEEF STROGONOFF ON FRIDAYS-  IF ANYONE STOPS THERE, LEAVE ONE OF OUR POKER CHIPS-- I AM TOLD THE OWNER PLAYS POKER WITH ONE OF OUR CAMERA PEOPLE.

JUST another wierd idea....   LIKE CAKE DAY- which is coming when i am involved with dog  fest---   i am told we are up to 49 states for delivering cakes to fire departments.

 some of my relatives "really take the cake"   so i hope they also do it literally.

it is necessary to have GUESTS once in a while, or we would never get cleaqned up..

i did empty the rear5 of the "t-tent" of all it's pre-dump" contents and have lined up all our motorized equipment which tends to be seasonal--  we own a cement mixer because a contractor wnated to charge $10,000   to lay out and put in th e anchors holding teh "g tent" in place--  so i bought a CEMENT MIXZER, AND WITH MY TRUSTY 3-4-5 TRIANGLE , I SAVED $9000 AND NOW OWN A CEMENT MIXER.  AND A G-TENT THAT IS WITHIN 1 INCH OF  HAVING CORRECT DIAGIONALS..

PEOPLE CARRYING "T-SQUARES" AND LEVELS ARE NOT WELCOME AT DOG FEST.

 THE OTEHR SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM IS THAT PEOPLE KEEP DROPPING OFF THINGS LIKE  LAWN MOWERS  AND WASHING MACHINES...  THAT  "STOPPED WORKING"   AND BUD FIXES THEM THUS WE HAVE 7 MOWING DEVICES  AND 6 WASHING MACHINES AROUND HERE SOMEWHERE. 

ALONG WITH  2 BLOWERS... ( SNOW AND LEAF)  ABND TOO MAY VACUUMS TO COUNT.

the belly of teh goat groweth large....  you don't notice it  until she lies down and it all shifts to one side in a huge lump--- i think i aGREE SHE WILL "KID" SOON. AND IF ANYONE SUGGE4SWTS WE MILK HER--  I WILL PROVIDE A BUCKET... I INVITE YOU TO HAVE AT IT;.... the whole business is aqbout 6 inches off the floor  unless you build a milking stand for goats.  it's  not on my list 

NOW... I REMEMBER.... A WOMAN  JUST UP THE STREET-- SHE HAD A BAD TIME  WITH ARTHRITIS IN HER HQNDS, SO HER SONS BOUGHT HER A NUBIAN GOAT-- SLIGHTLY LARGER... EAars hanging down...  her sons were in the construction business, i have never seen such a solid goat pen  all 2 x 5's   6 feet high... and with a goat that jumps... it is needed...   so the fact that she had to milk that goat twice a day  was a huge help for her hands ( and she did go back to making wonderful quilets---)  in the meantime  goats don't give milk for fun... they have to have a baby to get them started--reproduction being what it is... she ended up with 3 milking goats and a 4' tall  liquid nitrogen  taqnk in her hall closet... this took the place of needing a daddy goat on the property.it also meaqnt that she coudl have super daddy sperm and her goats became well known for their milk production... ( which she used to give up by the gallon)- because she had such super goats, she donated the kids to the hieffer project-- where her "offspring"  were flown to africa to be donated to anyone who needed a goat in aftrica.

-- HER ARTHRITIS WAS A BENEFIT TO SOMEONE !!  proving once again that  there ARE WAYS FOR ANYONE TO BE GENEROUS SOMEHOW.

I HAVE ZERO INTENTION OF GOAT MILKING-- HOWEVER.. TEHRE ARE A FEW THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO PASS ON.. IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE A ONE GOAT MILKING MACHINE-- FROM WALMART-- IT CAN BE GOOGLED "FRUIT JAR GOAT MILKER"   MADE FROM A FOOD SAVER VACUUM PUMP $16 AND sOMNE 1/4 TUBING-- IT WAS FASCINATING !!  WHICH THEN BRINGS ME TO GOOGLING DAIRYMASTER GOAT MILKER- TURNTABLE...  WHICH CAN DO 1800 GOATS AN HOUR IN A VERY ORGANIZED FASHION-

APPARENTLY THAT DARIY MASTER ALSO MAKES TURNTABLES FOR COWS TOO...  TALK About  automation...

this BRINGSW ME TO .... THE HARVARD  EMGINEERING  STUDENTS  WHO CAME HERE YESTERDAy-

 they are desiging a robotic  doggie poo picker...- being the helpful type, i did take about an hour helping the student with the various perspectives.. my first being   the interaction between a robot  and an animal might not be very ggod for the  robot.- it was a very intellectual discussion -- shall we say "quantitative analysis of consistancies" -  it was a veryt creative - stimulating conversation. and i did suggest he consult other inventions... like teh chunky vomit picker from britain..

so i went  to google and searched "chunky vomit picker"---  and there--- third one down  was teh " dialy doggie"- now that is frightening-- in thei entire world-- this internet is keeping track of something as minor as how to  picking up vomit...  if "they" are keeping track of all the topics in teh daily doggie, maaybe that is why i get so many strange ads.

WITH LUCK THERE WILL BE ENOUGH OF THE TOOL /BLACKSMITH SHOP FOR THE DOGFEASTERS TO PAINT YELLOW-- OBJECT BEING TO MOVE TEH FACE-- OR FRONT---  FORWARD 4 FEET.... I DID GET 2 OF TEH 4 X 6  POSTS  IN ... NEARLY WHERE THEY BELONG...  TRICK IS TO TRY AND GET THE BOTTOM OF THE POSTS  IN THE RIGHT SPOT AND SHOVE THE THING INTO VETICAL.  WHERE IF YOU REMEMBER, MY DISCRIPTION OF VERTICAL IS WHEN THE POST NO LONGER LEANS ANY DIRECTION AND IS WEIGHTLESS TO HOLD.   WITH ALL THAT GOING ON  I NEVER HAVE ENOUGH HANDS TO HOLD ANYTHING LIKE A LEVEL....

  

MINUS A "T-SQUARE"  I HAD TO NAIL UP TEH T-111 TO BE SURE TH EPOSTS WERE STRAIGHT--  OR RATHER WE COULD SHOVE THEM INTO A MOSTLY VERTICAL POSITION TO HOLD UTH PLYWOOD.  HOWEVER I HAVE NOT YET BUILT ANY OF TEH  INNERDS TO SUPPORT ODD THINGS LIKE....  THE ROOF..

IT IS LIKE BUILDING A STONE WALL FROM THE TOP DOWN.  IT IS TRICKY. -  THOSE 4 X 8 SHEETS OF PLYWOOD  ASSURED ME THAT THE POSTS WERE VERTICAL.... ASSUMING THE BUILDING WAS IN THE FIRST PLACE.

  GOT TO FINISH IT TODAY-- AT LEAST THE PART THAT WILL HOLD UP THE PAINT.  OVER TEH YEARS... SCREWS HAVE BECOME MYPREFERRED OVER NAILS.-- MOSTLY BECAUSE IT IS EASIER TO CHANGE YOUR MIND ABOUT WHERE THINGS GO. I AM VERY CAREFUL TO SCREW THEM ALL IN CROOKED  BECAUSE CROOKED NAILS- OR SCREWS  HOLD BETTER THAN STRAIGHT ONES.

I THINK.... THE WORD IS... TO SCAB LUMBER ON A POST IN SUCH A WAY THAT IT WILL HOLD UP A BEAM THAT WILL HOPEFULLY HOLD UP THE ROOF... I NEED TO DO THAT TODAY... OR RATHER GET SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT FOR ME.-- AND  teh building  HAS TO BE YELLOW--

THE REASON WE HAVE SUCH CHEERFUL PAINT ON THE BUILDINGS IS HOME DEPOT very nicely  GAVE US A WHOLE PALLET OF ODD Piant... which also saved them from having to pay someone to take it awaay.

 fyi -- tarps plus.com   has some interesting  solutions not found in home depot type   they have a  mesh tarp BLACK, GREEN OR  light TAn.... that is very good-- breezy  open air--  but rain hits it and runs down-- also screens bugs..STAY AWAY FROM SPECIAL ORDER--  too expensive.

dogfeast is coming  along  faster than i anticipated... luckily... AS  all teh cp's know... you takes us as you finds us-- it wold be nice ti get all dressed up for the  "festing"   but there is so much to run on a dialy basis  that we do as best we can TO KEEP EVERYTHING FUNCTIONING   and just want to enjoy everyone's arrival- specially when it reaLLY MEANS MORE PEOPLE HERE TO HELP !!

if thaAT WASN'T ENOUGH-- ALLISON-- A TRAINER  FROM GUIDING EYES IS HERE---   A VERY CHEERFUL PLEASENT PERSON AND WE HAVE HAD An ibnteresting time - doing thei things i had to do anyway... she is so pleasent i can not tell if she is just being polite, but she seems  impressed with sizzle and bentley's  generic training..

i did see one sign that maybe  she was impressed-- we ( +judy)  went to see santa FRANK( WHO IS AT THE MOST POSH BEAUTIFUL  PLACE WHERE OLD FOLKs ARE PUT.).. AND AS I LET SIZ AND BENTLY OUT OF THE CAR WITH NO LEASH OR COLLAR, SHE INSTINCTIVELY STArTED TO GRAB TEHM THINKING BEING LOOSE WAS A PROBLEM.  SHE RELAXED AS I TOLD HER THEY WERE NOT GOING ANYWHERE- AND THEY DID NOT.   WE "WORKED THE CROWD" AT FRANKS   XXXXX WHATEVER..?REST HOME? THANKS TO THE FACCT THAT JUDY HAD PACKED A BOX OF "CRITICALS" IN MY CAR AND WE HAD THEIR PAPERS---( RABIES INFO.)

BENT ANS SIZ- DID WHAT THEY ALSWAYS DO AT TEHSE PLACES- PERFECTLY- AND HOPPED BACK IN THE CAR.. NO BIG DEAL;

 NOW  BACK IN HIGH SCHOOL I ALWAYS WANTED TO TRAQIN SEEING EYE DOGS- AS TEH ULTIMATE IN TRAINIG-   I WOULD STILL LIKE TO TRY THAT.. AND THE MOrE I TALK TO HER, TEH MORE I REALIZE... I DON'T WANT TO HEAr how they do any of it.... because i do think some of it is counter productieve.  she uses alot of words i have  mostly never used .  words george myers uses alot too.. like "socializing your dog"  -- they take dogs out for socializing... i take dogs out because i have to go somewhere and they can darn welll behave themselves.  i expect them to behave - and they do,. the "normal" training is  to  walk in a circle for an hour and the dog is supposd to learn to heel. my method is - i have to go to the supermnarket and  you will walk quietly next to me.

over simplification maybe... but i have to consider how one of our danes  would think... "why are we walking in circles not getting aqnywhere? ---- this is a non productibe exercise-" 

 i thought this long ago about genertic ways to train... i was at a "trainign conference  2005? -- and  that facility had set up a bunch of chairs in  rows to get the dogs used to being on a bus-- i thought then and think now.... that is an insult to the dog. all you need to blow  teh exercise is one piece of gum stuck on the bottom of those chairs and teh dog-s senses will be on that gum and not chairs in a row..   i teach the dogs to back... then i worry about where-- like busses or airplanes...

how?  remember   these are big dogs-

i move the sofa away from teh wal about 8 inches and put thier dinner  1/2 way in the "slot "  formed- it  take s the  dog no more that 3 seconds to go eat the food.  when they are don.. and confused- i say "back"   because they are going to have to "back" to get out-  next time-  put the food all the way in that slot- and tell them to back out. next dinnertime have them go in... no food-- ask tehm to back out andn put the food in front of them- doesnt take nore that a few days to hav a perfect "back"   and most of the  time you will be using what you would be doing anyway-- like feeding them./

 wit little to no effort you will be able to back them in the "slot"  between airline seats  with no question or excitement.  they just know what to do.

just to see if siz remembred... i stopped in the parking lot with allison- dropped the leash and told siz to back- she took 2 steps back right away- then looked up at me and said "whatareyou?nuts?" and i swear she added "i do not do parlor tricks"   i respect that.

I didn't get old on purpose, it just happened. If you're lucky, it could happen to you! I have been in many places, but I've never been in Kahoots. Apparently, you can't go alone. You have to be in Kahoots with someone.

I've also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there. I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my children, friends, family and work.

I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I'm not too much on physical activity anymore. I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit there too often. I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.

Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I go there more often as I'm getting older. One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenaline flowing and pumps up the old heart! At my age I need all the stimuli I can get!

I may have been in Continent, but I don't remember what country I was in. It's an age thing. They tell me it is very wet and damp there.

Carlene, I wish I could tell you when I started getting the DD,.  It was after watching explorer site for a while but honestly been at least 7 years.  First I read all the back ones on web site.  Guess that is when I figured out how to get emailed or maybe on the mail call.  Any way point of this is to tell you several years ago.  I started forwarding to my best friend and adding a little note and she replied with a note.  Neither of us like to talk on the phone.  It is our daily keep up with each other.  So thank you for starting such a special tradition for two retired school teacher.  It is amazing how SDP touched peoples lives.  Oh, also amazing how much she and I think like you.  Always saying, another Carlene thing.  Have a wonderful day and a BIG THANK YOU! I remember way back in 1999 sitting with Carlene as she was talking about her dream of starting Service Dog Project. As a matter of fact, I believe my dog Tevy’s brother Brownie was one of the first dogs Carlene worked with to start the program... it is so wonderful to see the dream has come true❤️ ***** BROWNIE WAS A WONDERFUL DOG-- EXTREMELY HONEST-  "PERFECT"  BROWNIE...  HE WAS THE DOG THAT MADE US NEVER LET A DOG COME OUT OF ANESTHESIA IN A METAL CRATE. WE SIT WITH THEM ON THE FLOOR. HE WAS WITH SOMEONE IN PENNA  AND GOT PUT IN A CRATE- WHICH HE NEVER WAS IN HERE..- ANYWAY. HE GOT A HAPPY TAIL WHEICH BLED BADLY .. MAKING IT NECESSARY TO AMPUTATE HIS TAIL-- TEH VET THERE PUT HIM IN TEH NORMAL METAL CRATE TO WAKE UP- DURING THIS PROCESS THEY USUALLY FLOP AROUND AND BANG THEIR HEADS ON TEH FLOOR/ WALLS/ WHATEVER.  WHEN WE GOT HIM BACK, I NOTICED HIS USUAL PERFECT DEMEANER WAS DESTROYED EVERY TIME HE HEARD A METAL NOISE-- LIKE A METAL GARBAGE CAN LID... *** THERE ARE SOOOOOO MANY THINGS WHICH HAPPEN TO AN ANIMAL- WHERE WE JUST APPLY TEH NORMAL HUMAN REACTION  WHICH IS SOMETIMES DIRECTLY OPPOSITE HOW THE ANIMAL IS THINKING..  MOST NOTEABLY...    WHY ON EARTH DO WE THINK A DOG LIKES THE AIR SPRAY TO ERASE THE SMELLS A DOG LIVES ON ??  " I JUST GET MY BED SMELLING LIKE IT IS MINE, AND THEY GO AN PUT IT IN THE WATER MACHINE SO IT COMES BACK SMELLING LIKE FLOWERS ... THERE IS NO PROPER START FOR A DAILY DOGGIE ON 9/11-  WE CAN BUT MOVE ON.... ****   TODAY IS WORMING DAY... OUR PUPS ARE A FEW DAYS LATE IN GETTING WORMED-- COUPLE THAT WITH THE FACT THAT DANES HAVE AN AMAZING ABILITY TO THROW UP, AND TEH NEXT FEW DAYS SHOULD BE  INTERESTING.  MOST OF THE TIME-- THE MORNING "TOSS OF THE COOKIES" IS DUE TO  THE LACK OF COOKIES ... I.E.  AN EMPTY STOMACH WHICH IS WHY YOU WILL OFTEN SEE BENTLEY OR SIZ COME WHILE I AM TYPING AND ASK FOR A FEW COOKIES.. GET OUT...  LEAVE IT OPEN.. OPEN DOOR 2-- EXIT DOG.. SHUT BOTH DOORS. ************* Good morning. Our town has a problem with roads and sidewalks. They are full of holes, cracks and bumps. Yesterday I was walking (rolling) my college class through town. Zeke was doing a great job pulling my wheelchair, when all of a sudden, my front wheels hit a huge crack. My wheelchair stopped dead. Because of the momentum, my wheelchair tipped forward and I flew out of the chair. Zeke knew exactly what to do. He ran in front of me just in time to catch me and break my fall. I amazingly stayed upright. Without him I would have hit the sidewalk head first. He had seconds to anticipate what I needed. He has great instincts.  He is an amazing dog! Shannon & Zeke

the closer a big post  is to vertical... the  less it weighs... if you get tehy thing staqight up and down, you can hold it with a finger...  or  rather-- 98 pound devin can hold it while you  hammer in a nail or two.----you wouldn't want to come round here with a "T" square--- or a level....  my building techniques  work...but perfection is not a word in my vocabulary. 

 GOAL--- getting teh second post of teh tool shed set so someone can start to unscrew teh front and move it 4 feet toward teh donkey cafe.   well i had to  adjust the whole tool shed project to accomodate my friend, the dump truck driver-  which  i did  by moving  a portable post around with a $10 bill attached to it with a note "can you squeeze in here? " - when teh trash and teh $10 were both gone...  i got the note"this works"  and i coul d set that post.  so now i have the second one.. almost in place

---it is vertical... but needs to move over 3 inches-- which i will wait to do when someone besides devlin is around...  i  can put a chain around it to the tractor bucket-- so at least it does not fall all the way down... object being to get teh bottom of the post where it is supposed to be- and if you can at least  get a nail thru to plywood which is attached to the rest of the building, it oughta stand up-  

"strapping"--  is a big word in my life---  1 x 3 inch wood..-- which in previous daily doggies i have descried as  planed down to 3/4 x 2.5 inches  10 feet long-- stuck on teh building with one nail- all i had to do was get the post ( a 4x6) very nearly upright and  one nail to that stapping kept it vertical in one direction-- a second piece of stapping  at a right angle- would be darn good... however... 

lacking the  strapping which a normal builder would have hanging around... i have 5 slivers of some bureau nailed  in a variety of directions- but it is up... with a sign  "do not get near this mess. to be continued" 

my goal of yesterday was 2 fold--- in prep for dog fest, i want to get that #$%^&* overhead wire to the "g-tent" underground...   bud asked for a 12 deep trench- my biggest problem there is that whoevr designed this back hoe did not allow for an ample girth on the driver...  the levers are all wedged in your lap-- far too close for comfort.  but i got it done.

someone--- asked that at dog fest people wear theri names - or online id's ---so that people who are not here can  put a name to a face..- like waving a red flag in front of a bull... i began to get ideas...   and i demo's the idea last nigh at maqil call...  2 coat hangers and some duct tape...  just like i did to hold up puppy ears-- or  teh unicorn for some kid's halloween..  try it... it is a valuable thing to know if you deal with kids ( of any age)  white wire  shirt hangers from teh cleaners--( bronze ones are too heavy)   cut off the hook...  bend one side straight up.. and  bend the other around your thigh..   put 2 of thse togethere  with some duct tape and you have a very light - easy to wear, adjustable frame on which you can  tape ANYTHING-- pinwheels name tages or any other silly  thing.

it is one of my more valuable bits of education/-- if you have kids... try it.

this person- janice- who wrote about scott  and dog "dash" in  "knot today" is braving teh storm of trying to write about SDP-- she could use some help with  the 2800 daily doggies i have put out.  particularly-- t the part at the bottom where i cut and paste things people have said or sent to me- i think she is on a line of teh huge difference in not only teh person' life but the family/caregivers... but also likes teh humor side of it all.  be it erica and asher on stage in a musical--- or fiona tip toeing across rocks in  a stream... - these dogs don't just get you up the  mundane curbs of life... it isw a whole new world....these dogs may not erase your disability but they certainly  give you a whole new ability.--- it has been said by several of our male recipients that these danes are as good as any puppy at being a chick magnet.  different door... different window -- different box.... get out.-- in teh mean ti me write  me about it....she needs the stories.. ***** i had another vent-able hangup---  is not saying anything the equavalint of lying?  seems to me that might be true.. there is no way around here that i can keep my eye on everything--- i have to have faith in  everyone to bring things to my attention...and eventually they do...  i have rules/ regulations and proceedures--...  not becaiuse l ilke rules regulations and proveedures... we haVe alot of them because ADI ACCREDITATION SAYS WE MUST- but for the most part these rules are based on keeping up standards..-. even if now-a-days  there is such a thing as flea killer applied to teh dogs- the expression is still heard  "he who lies down with dogs gets up with fleas" -- i do not like that expreession because i hold a dog in alot higher status than .. shall we say ... "other speicies" ---   it is  the fleas that wipe off  that are the negativism that can  "infect" teh whole place. THERE WAS A SONG "ACCENTUATE TEH POSITIVE" - MUCH BETTER IDEA... **** in the meantime i found a new horizontal place to ":store" things--  tehre is a 10 x 30 foot area behind teh t tent which currentloy contatins  "predump" stuff -- if i throw all that away -- and use a few tarps well-- things like snow plow-- fertalizer sperader, log splitter etc can hide there...-- teh whole project is held up because tehre is a n overhead wire that the big tractor can not get under..  i will try today with the smaller loader. and i ordered new tarps froM  that online TARP  place.. to replace some  tired tarps IF THERE IS ANYTHING I HATE, IT IS tired tarps - THEY MAY COVER THINGS UP...... abundance of caution-...not   that i am promoting reckless behavior.. but there comes a point.. where if someone is given a license-- be it medical or police- one should be able to assume that intelligent judgement goes with it.  theer is a gap in that system  where-----if you work it right you can make a fortune on it... if you do it wrong you land in jail for murder.. 

i have a scratch on my leg- it was not healing as i thought it should -- and went to   "my doctor" at lahey-   there are 2 medical systems in boston which  involve most everything i know of... "lahey" and "partners"  -- basically every hospital around here is associated with /?owned by ?  either "system"  mass general is a partners hospital.. and they almost fight over patients... 

it seems to me anyway-- a business oriented company has seen the financial advantage of  "owning" these medical facilities- and they set down rules.....so i had a scratch on my leg--  she saw that-- gave me a script- she also could not consider an odd lump on my elbow---  for that i would need another appointment- she was only allowed one ailment per visit  unless  i booked a "comprehensive"  visit -- but she could take the time to book me with an orthepedic specilist, order bloodwork and an xray, plus an eye appointment-- mostly because she noticed the scotch tape holding my glasses together- and sinci it did not bother me, i better have my eyes exaqmined..in an abundance of caution-----.since it is all medicare what difference does it make??  that abundance of caution is very profitable for the medical profession.\

pity the poor policeman-- if he has an abundance of caution for his life and shoots someone, he is a murderer and lands in jail..

 there is anothe "business" not talked about much--colleges being bought up--and closed-- like 50 of them- and teh kids who have spent thousands of $$ on courses are just out of that mioney--someone made money on the backs of that decision-- i do not understand enough about it... but i personally  know a few kids who have $10,000 student loans paid to colleges now closed aqnd  teh get no credit or refund for time or years...

i briefly googled it and saw one solution... join the military to erase that loan????

there is a big deal there somewhere.

othere than that --evening report yesterday was  one dog with a temop of 103-- which hardly counts ( norm is 101-102)-- i left the mic on for all of mail call so people coudlsee if sizzle coughed-- i don't thnk she did..-- i know it can be a big deal-- but not usually-
