*****
also... it might be fun for some of you to write a thank you to
r&w rope----p.o. box 50420--- new bedford ma 02745-- they sent me a donation of a big chunk of orange rope to do the orange monkey fists as a money maker for SDP..-- so notes from all over would be fun....and nice to send them... it should mean over $100 to sdp.

i had a few emails wrt responsible pet ownership-- and then i had 2 about responsible child production
when in costco with a sizzle or bentle, for every 5 people who say
" i wish you'd train my dog," i have at lest one who says "i wish you'd train my grandchildren"
... i don't see those "child leashes" much anymore-a kid with a strap around thier wrist an da leash to mom. i used to be horrified to think that the child would grow up and vote.
the fine line between overactive and just healthy active got smeared along the way.. when doctors started trying be "the answer" -- to appease mothers by
offering a name and chemical solution to a problem which might be solved by more exercse less tv ---in my time...( now it's computer time)
please do remember i am an animal person... but i know... if we wear out the puppies, they will sleep.. if we don't, they will chew on each other's heads... or some other part- there is an active part of living for which kids have no feel.. and "we" caused it..
eliminate teh music program in schools, eiminate the recess program so we can have more hours of scolastic stuff...and pretty soon we cant do the scholastic stuff because kids have not moved around enough to deal with growing bones and muscles...
we went to laura's school for a "volunteer for community service" day--- and all i had to do was sit there and think, if that school had any kind of forced physical activity they would need to have the ambulance on site... from guys in flip flop shoes to girls in high heels -- guys with pants sliding down past their hips to girls with skirts hardly covering the necessitites of life...
the school struggles with individualism of expression with dress codes-- which is entirely the wrong way to go.... i could fix it quickly--- instead of letting them out to roam the halls--- give them 30 laps around the gym-- one teacher one magic marker and when they got their "card" with 30 marks, they could go to lunch.--- if they didn't get the 30, well then ... that would be thier problem --no lunch-- and all those flip flops and drooping drawers would be history.-- i see track people out running the streets with no problem so my origional was to say run around the building outside but i was sure some parent would say it was too dangerous-- and it might in some cases be... but not these kids who make it into town all by themselves to buy donuts... there would. be some way around that.. 30 minutes of running around outside in the fresh air would straighten out more than thier clothing.
at some point we have to keep our eye on the end goal-- an educated kid-- not just a large well fed one.----but also a kid who has found out life is not fair so get over it...no complaining about you getting only one scoop of ice cream if somebody else got two...
i remember...... edinburgh---i was a math major- and by american standards, a pretty good one.. then i got to edinburgh where my education was more of a joke . they get out of high school with our college education-- then they go to" university"--- i was lost-- big time...- one of the classes i took,... the class was so big i could barely SEE the professor let alone hear or learn from him.... too bad... my problem... basically my fellow students totally understood topics i could not even pronounce... another thing.... there was a guy in a wheelchair, and if you came to him somewhere, you just pushed him in whatever direction seemed logical..he was doing fine.
*****
my methods are the same with dogs in airplanes...a sign " all service animals must pass thru the scanner alone with all harness removed..." any trained service dog is supposed to be able to do that-- per that adi public access test... "remove all harness and regain control of the dog in a public setting"
****************
i am goin g to leave here this morning... for an outing--big excitement---- maybe to costco... so far this week i have wasted days waiting --
for animal control inspection
2 days-- 3 delivery trucks
computer to function for calendar reasons
plumbers to call
i want OUT..
