Aug. 11th. 2011

i am soooo  excited-- last night was my last night in the chair til the next litter

not only that ... but olive's pups are (at least capable ofbeing) organized.

they are in the back room....on the 1/2 deck...
but with clever use of baby cages/ temp fencing ( who has more experience??) it is possible- after tom has gone to bed-- to turn the herd loose in the living room - not in contact with chaos puppy fencing-- so she doesn't mind-- the hoodlums tear around-- literally ---laying waste (also literally) to the whole area which has that lovely vinyl floor-  as they rip and tear both egg cartons and plastic bottles, i can clean up the waste that they laid to the deck and wash it--- put down new fluffy's and a cup of dry food on that daycare bed.
they do not know yet that the noise i am making means treats are available in my direction... but they will learn that quickly i am sure.

this will morph into 2 or 3 at a time in the  living room with the spoonfed dog food  which will morph into the 9 loose -- coming when their name is called-- at which point they will be better trained than a lot of normal dogs.
so i have arrived at the point where i see that training this 9 is totally possible

i was worried for one split second.
now all i need is a pair of janine's  knee high leather riding chaps to protect the  fragile skin on my shins.
today it is  colorful left over vet wrap-- bless that stuff  but it is all i have at the moment to protect me..

AND FOR THE NEXT LITTER PLEASE... SOMEONE REMIND ME WE HAVE 3 ROLLAWAY BEDS---SO WE DON'T NEED TO SLEEP ON THE FLOOR.
*********************
i have to comment- since it will have it's effect....

along with garbage collection-- which by now you all know i respect much more than Congress activity... in my opinion......our legal system is in free fall- which is worse than wall street.

colleen has been trying to buy a house in boxford for months now.. a foreclosure deal-- first thing the owners dismantled the entire barn and sold it-- then after being told she would pass papers this week, now the owner - whoever that now is- refuses to sign--- she expected to own it this week and has all her posessions in boxes for the move- plus her "other" house is  on the market.

apparently there is no legal recourse anyone it able to take.
i suggested she move in anyway and try for squatters rights- maybe they can't do anything about that either.

why can't she just forge a bunch of legal looking documents and move in.
basically that is what the banks have done to get people out.

you hire a bunch of high school kids at $10 an hour to scribble some name-- 360 times an hour ( per 60 minutes)

where is what line drawn...?  who would throw them out???  do we now have local police deciding legal matters?
how can they when they are overburdened with loose ponies at 3am.
******************
i would love to stage A sit in....  i guess i better just watch.

a friendly neighbor ( RE lawyer type) said he would no longer even deal with gmac- because they just can not begin to deal  with what is going on..

apply that concept to  the perils of colleen-

there are several lawyers who get this...   like beth????
where is the help button.???

BERNARD AND MANNY-- LOOK OUR WORLD HERE THEY COME.

****
No sensible observations.Manny continues to look happy with a spring in his tail until he comes up to something he has not seen before..he does what comes naturally and gets over it increasingly quickly, groups crowding him are having a lessening affect on him and he recovers after backing away   and sitting down. I don't know where that comes from but as soon as "they" give him some room he stands up.
I am accumulating a small store of unwanted dog biscuits ...at least I think they are dog biscuits as they were all given to me at  drive through windows.Burness continues to launch herself at women and men trying slip  stuff down Manny's gullet and plays merry bells with international relations."What do you expect..English!."----- the last one said
I always say thank you and hide them.
We all went to our Great Grand Daughter's first Birthday.Very odd feeling being a GG and Ed ,my son in law has taken to carrying things about for me! We had to stay overnight ,we have had good treatment with Manny at Hampton Inns,, and so it was this time, but solve this mystery if you can! We went out for the last patrol and we filled two supermarket bags. I could not find a garbage container, they were not going inside the car and so I placed them under the car behind the passenger front wheel....out of sight.
Next morning we packed our luggage and before departure looked for my, or rather Manny's ,deposit..........................it Had disappeared.    Who,what, why or when I have no idea
Have been carded three times  last week

Couldn't resist the Shaw's lady who came up like a class monitor to demand " Is that A MEDICAL DOG ?"

no "good morning, hello how's your father, what nice dog."

I fed her the answer I knew she wanted to hear and said no......" You will have to leave store immediately....I knew I done wrong sheriff but I then told her my companion's correct title, produced his ticket and ,not for the  first time, appreciated the organization and administration  behind SDP

I cannot think how or where else I could find my beautiful friend.Truly Words fail me

By the way, I found out that DiDi really doesn't like the rain. The other day, when we went to work at school, it was pouring rain. I waited for awhile in the car, but it didn't seem like it would let up anytime soon.  I only had a small umbrella (not a good planning technique) and then went to get DiDi. However, she took one look out the door and very clearly said she had no plans on going out in that mess. We had a very serious discussion, while I was getting absolutely drenched. Finally, she relented, and reluctantly got out of the car. It was pretty funny, although by the time we got into the building, I looked as though I had just gone swimming in my sundress and sandles. I sloshed through the building to my classroom, where DiDi gave me a very indignant look, and went to her cot and layed down. Since then, she has made it clear that she will not go outside to go potty if it is even lightly sprinkling, so we wait. She keeps me smiling and I am always surprised by her facial expressions and clear understanding of situations.
