2 lovely pups have arrived- happy, cheerful, realtively clean.
and we were handled with proficiency by the various people
at the cost of 12 calendars-- whatever works..
everfy trip we learn someting....
tehre was another dog crate on the plane-- a german shephard
the guy picking him up gopt him faster than we did because he hired some "agent"
who could do the paperwork without going to boston or terminal "E" fo r the stamp.
got to look into that...
usually the pups have some evidence of having been watered..
plastic bottle strapped to the crate and water dish hooked to the door.the dish had no evidence of being used in flight---- i have a feeling this was not done becuase they were very thirsty when tehy arrived-- and had very strong smelling urine-- like VERY STRONG.. which now 12 hours later seems normal. nice pups! -- thank you barbara( german kennel)
they are only slightly bigger than the pups we have...
so they should fit in nicely - we call let them settle for a few days befor we start the mixing.
if all goes well that should be 2 more people who will b e walking in 2021
we are very short puppies-- and no one seems worried but me... mommy nature gave us a whammy with
none of our females coming in heat this spring...
*************
ok... next problem.... our applicaton process...
do you work? do you drive ? do you volunteer? got to have some yesses in there somewhere... our dogs are not capab;le of sitting around doing nothing... we say we like to have people out in the community doing something 3 or 4 hours a day.
somewhere in here i could put teh unemployment concept---
just because you had to give up running marathons does not mean you are incapalble of the rest of life.
i know there is a job for someone who sits and watches commercials to be sure they are shown in the correct time period 100% without seconds clipped off the end... lord knows if more "challanged " people would answer the phones teh entire american economy would get a boost in time saved. -----when i run for president , i will pass a law outlawing "your call is important to us"
so i have found a job for some mobility challanged person here----- going thru the medications - and anything else with an expiration date-- canned soup?? whatever... i picked up a bottle of tylenol - exp 7/19---
not that i think the 7/19 has anything to do with tylenol's efficiency, but both ADI and the USDA would get bent out of shape and assess fines and further financial woes- the usda would not care whether i thought the ttylenol would be non effective in august of 2019.. to them it shows a lethal disregard for details and they can get out of control... as i can.... ( a little... who me?)
back when i was animal episodes- i had to be inspectged by the USDA -- and since in new england teher is not alot of animals used in "work" like photography-- which is why there was me in the first place- i listened without screaming at why i should vacuum the dust of the chicken coop windows-- but finally when they said i must have an identifying number for each animal on the farm, i am afraid i did raise my voice using a few words i learned from a sallor - perhaps you heard me in iowa??? my animals had names... they said i must have numbers and i must post those numbers so they couold come here and check..... ( probably because of a compugter programed to accept only numbers....) the result of that was i was forced to buy 200 brass "tags" so they could mark down th at i was in the process of puttin a tag around evey animals neck- that was about the time i started SDP and gave up i was leterally forced out of existance by teh paperwork of the USDA -- those tags are still around... in the cash register-- and the dust is still on the chicken coop's window ledge... my performance in teh field was perfect according to the animal rights group-- which it should be.-- but not the briefcase toting #$%^&*( idiots.
causing bud to ask what is the difference between an wrench and a #$%^&* wrench
he has a point there....

*******
i certainly hope all is under control with the pups flight... usually petair sends me the info for pick up and payment before the pups are loaded in frankfurt.... Petair has been very efficient in all our previous "shipping " of pups. so i hope-- and as for weather--- the plane is always temp controlled..... now if you want to be concerned, it woulod be teh unloading and holding the pups while we scramble around the airport
with the paperwork. they unl;aod into a pretty big... drafty....warehouse.. before we can get teh papers we need to get teh custom stamps
we will be right there with a warm car... but there could be a few chilly moments-- between judy and i , we will be letting them know about the pups...-- the crate is strapped to a pallet kind of thng with 174 straps which take some time to undo... object being to get the pups out and into the warm car-- then deal with crate and other things.
teh rest of that story is i will need to clean out my car before we even start to the airport-- and we have one adult day care center to do at 19 am this morning... in lowell.. so it will be a quick turnaround.
LAST TIME FLIGHT LANDED 1:10 ON SCHEDULE-- THE PUPS GOT TO THE CARGO ARERA ABOUT 2:30 AND WE GOT STAMPED BY 3:30 AND MADE IT HOME FOR MAIL CALL AT 5PM.... WHERE OVER 500 POEPLE WATCHED TEH ARRIVAL ON CAMERA.. WE TRY.
Pups' Flight From Germany to Boston, December 20, 2019
Click on the below link and you are on the Flight Aware page showing the pups' flight from Germany to Boston on Friday, December 20th. At takeoff, a plane icon will appear on the dotted line you see on your screen that goes from the Germany airport to the Boston airport. The plane will move along that line for the duration of the flight, showing where the plane is at all times, how high it is, how fast it is flying, the time of landing, and taxiing to the arrival gate.

very exciting day-- because -- teh saga of my soup continues--- i am also tracking 2 packages of frozen clam chowder-- having lost the first shipment a few weeks ago.. they are replacing it-- and they have again landed in shrewsbury mass...
that hPPENED LAST TIME TOO.. AND THEYN IT GOT SHIPPED TO RHODE ISALND WHERE IT THAWED-- SO WE PRAY
IF YOU WOOUDL LIKE TO PLAY WITH MY SOUP.... 1Z6V51190346667210 IS TEH UPS NUMBER... 42 POUNDS FOR 32 POUNDS OF SOUP SO THAT WOULD BE 10 POUNDS OF DRY ICE !!
YESTERDAY MY FIREDEPARTMENT GOT CUPCAKES-- IT WAS A BUSY DAY-- IT WOULD BE FUN TO GET THE TOWNS OF THE FD.. IN THE 49 STATES WE NOW "COVER" WITH CAKES ON THE 19TH-- MAYBE JANUARY....

Hi, Carlene,
Just got back from delivering our cake to the local Fire & Rescue Station #58 near us. There were just two guys there at the time, and we had a nice chat with them. They remembered that we had brought cakes before and were delighted. They said the other guys were out and they would "try" to save some for them!!
We took our dog, Sunny (our Labradoodle) to visit with them too. In talking with them, one of the guys said he has 3 dogs, and one is a Great Dane. He said the Danes are the best dogs, so mellow and loyal and just plain "great" dogs. They remembered our previous chat about Service Dog Project and we reminded them that they could watch the Danes online at your website. A good visit all around. Mission accomplished!
Thanks to all for all for all they do to make the wheels go round at SDP.
See you at Mail Call..

DEC 19 2019-- CAKE DAY
teh antler story came round again.... the fact that reindeer males drop thier antlers in november / december so teh bunch dragging the fat man in the red suit around teh world not getting lost must have been fermales. ******* i learned about antlers when i was "animal episodes" we had been hired to provide santas"farm" on boston common for 30 days ( also $30,000 which woudl paY ALOT O F COLLEGE TUTION... AT LEAST YEARS AGO)- I HAVE ENOUGH MOSTLY FUNNY STORIES ABOUT THAT 30 DAYS TO FILL A BOOK .. BUT THE ANTLER BIT-- I HAD A N AQUAINTENCE IN NH WHO OWNED A FAIRLY TAME REINDEER- AND I RENTED IT FROM HER ( PART OF TEH $30000) FOR THE MONTH-- PROMISING NOT TO HAVE IT ANYWHERE NEAR SHEEP BECAUSE OF SOME GERMS TEHY PASS BACK AND FORTH- SHE TOLD ME YOU LED A REINDEER WITH 2 PEOPLE-- 2 LEAD ROPES AND A HAND ON EACH ANTLER...-----THAT WAS MY TOTAL KNNOWLEDGE OF REINDEER -
WELL THE GOVENOR WANTED A PICTURE OF HIMSELF WITH TEH REINDEER ON TH STEPS OF THE STATEHOUSE WHICH WAS RIGHT ACROSS TEH STREET FROM OUR PORTABLE SANTAS FARM ON BOSTON COMMON.. NO PROBLEM.....?!? JANINE - THEN A BU STUDENT- AND FRIEND CINDY WITH 2 ROPES AND ONE REINDEER WENT UP TO THE STATE HOUSE-- AND THE SET UP WAS GOING VERY WELL UNTIL THE REINDEER FLIPPED HIS HEAD AND JANINE'S ANTLER CAME OFF AND CINDY LOST CONTROL- APPARENTLY THERE WAS AN AWKWARD EPISODE OF THE GOVENOR WITH HIS POLICE ESCORT COMING DOWN THE HALL OF THE STATEHOUSE MEETING UP WITH A FRIGHTENED, ONE ANTLERED REINDEER FOLLOWED BY JANINE RUNNING WHILE STILL CARRYING THE OTHER ANTLER.. THE PHOTO THEY GOT LOOKED FINE AS JANINE CASULALLY HELD THE OTHER ANTLER IN PLACE
SO MUCH FOR TEH WORLD OF PHOTOGRAPHY.
***
THE OTHER THING I FELT I MUST SHARE IS ABOTU DETERGENT- THER WAS AN AD ON TV ABOUT BUYING CAPSULES OF SOMETHIGN - ADDING IT TO A SPRAY BOTTLE AND NEVER BUYING CLEANER AGAIN.-- I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS/IS.... BUT...... WHEN I WAS FIRST OUT OPF COLLEGE I WENT TO SAN FRAN TO INTREVIEW FOR A JOB- AND MY MOTHER HAD A FRIEDN THERE WITH WHOM I COUD STAY-- SHE WAS A CHEMIST , I WAS TOLD, AND THE HIGHEST PAYING FEMALE IN ?SHELL CHEMICAL?
WELL... SHE HAD A CONTAINTER OR WHAT LOOKED LIKE SOAP POWDER--- AND LEFT ME A NOTE TO START THE CLOTHES WASHER WITH 1/4 TEASPOON OF THIS POWDER-- TEH NOTE SAID "THAGT'S RIGHT 1/4 TEASPOON" - I WAS USED TO 1/2 CUP OF TIDE POWDER.. BUT THIS WAS ODD... LATER, I ASKED HER 1/4 TEASP????? AND SHE EXPLAINED IT WAS PURE DETERGENT ... AND WHEN YOU BOUGHT THE STUFF IN THE STORE EVERYTHING ELSE WAS USELESS FILLER AND PERFUME.
SO HERE WE ARE 50 YEARS LATER (2019 - 1959) AND SOMEOEN IS NOW SELLING IT THAT WAY??????
***
AS I SIT HERE- I AM MAKING NOTE OF SOME OF THE OTHRE DETAILS OF EARNING THAT $30000---- LIKE\
**BACKING EH 53 FOOT TRAILER THRU TEH GATE , ACROSS TEH COMMON TO CARRY MANURE PILE
HIRING AN ATTACK DOG TRAINER TO PROTECT OUR CHICKENS GOAT AND SHEEP OVERNIGHT
**SHAMPOOING ONE SIDE OF A WHITE HORSE.
** THE STRANGE TASTING BROWNIES JANINE'S COLLEGE FRIENDS SHARED WITH ME
** TEH HEATED TENT
**TEH EXTREMELY SLEEPY OLD MINI DONKEY (I.E. DEAD) AND TEH TRUNK OF JANINE'S CAR.
**THE BED--- WHICH IS STILL AROUND HERE !!
**THE BED--- WHICH IS STILL AROUND HERE !!
LIKE TEH VALEDICTORIAN IN A CLASS OF ONE.... WE WERE THE ONLY DAMNFOOLS WH WOULD ATTEMPT SOME OF THESE THINGS
WE HAD THE REPUTATION OF WE WOUL D SHOW UP ON TIME AND TRY.
IF ANYONE OFFERS YOU THE CHOICE BETWEEN BRAINS OR LUCK... CHOOSE LUCK !

how someone got shot in the head is not a topic of conversation that is easy to waltz into..--mine is not to reason why-- so i never asked-- we were confronted with a nice enough guy who ran a fitness something from boston... came here and volunteered many times--- and we found a dog who loved him-- jaegar-- from teh musicians litter. so we donated jaegar to him and off they went. we have had an extraordinary number of news articles about him-- but now---- a TED lecture ??!!!!!-- and his dog looks sooooooo good...
so i would suggest you click on one or the other link and listen-- very interesting !!

dec 17 2019
what started all this was a visitor yesterday who is taking an online course in dog training-- she rode around with me doing chores with dogs,,, and as i listed some of the things we do to train dogs... i had to stop and think.." why are we not doing that anymore"
venting day------- THERE ARE SO MANY ROUTINES I HAVE SET UP OVER 10 YEARS, THAT ARE SLIDING-- SIMPLE COOKIE WHEN DOGS AR PUT IN TEH KENNEL, GETS THE TAIL OUT OF THE WAY WHEN THEY NATURALLY DO THAT GETTING IN A CAR.- THAT IS JUST ONE... TEHRE IS A QUICKER WAY TO DO ALOT OF THINGS BUT IF THAT IS THE ANSWER WE MAY AS WELL SLAP A GENTLE LEADER ON ALL THE DOGS AND NOT BOTHER TRAINING. we had routines....
. SPOON FEEDING... INDIVIDUAL DISHES... LOOSE LEASHES.. RUN TIMES BEFORE TRAINING.
ustabeeee all of my puppies couold work the yuppy puppy-- ustabee also every morning at 9:00am meg and i would take at leat 8-10 dogs to the topsfield fairgrounds to runn in the parking lot for maqybe 5 minutes -- load u p and travel-- no problem-- granted we did have a van at that point, but that is not the reason we no longer do that--- it took all of 25 minutes.. just like my yuppy project .. it is soo easy to let things slide-- now we waste that much time worrying about who is going to take the trash to the dumpster. -or why the coffee pot is so slow...
it is insidious. maybe age?? boredom?? not today??? it is easier not to??? i have laundry to fold????- i once said i wanted a young dog in my off ice 9AM every morning so i could yuppy etc...it too slid.. because we had young puppies ????? well they are not HERE . NOW.. THEY ARE IN TEH BARN AND ONE SHOULD BE UP HERE EVERY MORNING. if we can not get to the fairgrounds, we should be using the arena more. especially in bad weatherr...
i
i have hired younger legs who should be able to get ORGANIZED AND GET out of the kitchen.. 2 staff menbers talking to each other about the weaTHER DOUBLES THE COST TO SDP WHILE NO DOGS GET HANDLED-- FED ---OR TRAINED.
there is a distraction factor...
TEH YUPPY PROJECT IS MY OWN FAILURE--- SO I AM CLAMPING DOWN ON THAT - STITCH AND JIMINEY ARE ON TEH CARPET --
THERE ARE TOO MANY DISTRACTIONS GETTING IN THE WAY OF TRAINING DOGS with me too... . I PAINFULLY WATCHED AS SDP PAID SOPMEONE A SALARY TO SHREAD ALL OUR PAPERS BECAUSE SOMEONE SAID IT WAS NOT APPROPRIATE TO BURN THEM IN THE FIREPLACE...- OBVIOUSLY A LAW PASSED BY THE MAKERS OF PAPER SHREADERS.
I WAS SHOCKED TO WATCH TEH ZOO IN OHIO- WHERE TEH HANDLERS HAVE TRAINED AN OTTER TO ROLL ON HIS BACK BETWEEN 2 PIECES OF WOOD SO VETS CAN INSPECT HIS FEET AND NAILS. MAYBE WE DON'T HAV ENOUGH STAFF TO P;ULL THAT ONE OFF, BUT THE CONCEPT IS THERE.. and maybe cleanliness is next to godliness... but we shold be able to keep the place clean while concentrating on dogs... there are tiimes when i would like to see attention to the dogs and sweep teh floor while they are napping.
we need to get organized better .. we were once.... why??
let me rethink the cookie when kenneled order... ( and it is an order) if you go to put a dog in a kennel and you dont have a cookie in you rpocket, you have 2 choices
A. put the dog in the kennel just this once because it won't make any difference.
or
B. don't put the dog in the kennel until you go get a cookie in your hand is what makes you a trainer --
probably 17 seconds of extra thought.
and tomorrow we can tackle teh pathetic placement of poo pickers, we need one volunteer to take that job on. once weekly...
more organization.
*******
and to remind us why we do all this--------

Eve has not been receiving structured physical therapy for quite a while now. Her therapy has through swimming and dancing for a number of reasons. Well anyhow we felt it necessary to check in for an eval and consult. Her PT wanted to evaluate her walking with and without Finn and how long she could do each one before needing to take a break. Eve can walk more than 3 TIMES longer with Finn than without him!!! WHOA! Such an amazing priceless blessing! We can never thank Service Dog Project enough! I mean I knew he helped a lot But to put numbers like that to it was amazing!! Endurance is still a challenge but she said she was pain free. Just weak/sore muscles was the reason she needed a break.

WHATareliefitis to be on linda's computer with minimal changes-- i nearly--- no... let me rephrase-- i lost it last night when i wrote a note to charlie and decided i really ought to capitalize teh c in charlie-- and that wiped out all my mail , including the note i had just written-- end of day -- tired anyway--and to have to start all over again was not in my plann for the next hour... but i did it.
my computer should be back todqay/ tomorrow??? i may still need to consider a new one... to be determined...
in the meantiem i do have confirmation from petair that the 2 pups are booked to arrive here dec 20 on teh usual lufthanser flight 422 arriving in boston at 13:10 from frankfurt.
there is an interesting photo - if you google del castello roche danes italy-- one of the bigger dane kennels in europe-- and scroll down to the photo of 8 dogs eating off raised feeders, - mcould be just teh way they are standing but there are 2 in the middle with legs angled straaight... and this is one of the leading kennels in europe-- see thier list of champoinships.... dog people sometimes just don't look at that kind of thing.-- or it does not make that much difference... whatever... a slightly odd angle on a front leg is not unusul --- so it would seem... i do wonder... most dane ppeople are fixated on hips....
******
i would really like someone to go to the airpoRt----JUDY????--- CAN YOU GO TO TERMINAL.E AND ASK IF WE CaN GET THAT usda STAMP THERE WITHOUT GOING ALL THE WAY INTO BOSTON WHICH TAKES OVER AN HOUR--- I TYHINK I HEARD LAST TIME THAT THE ONLY REASON WE WWOULD HAVE TO WAIT AT THAT WINDOW IS IF SHE IS IN THE LADIES ROOM-- OTHERWIS I THINK SHE SAID TYHAT WINDOW WAS OPEM. -----TO SEND US INTO BOSTON WITH THE LITTLE PIECE OF OFFICIAL PAPER THAT TELLS US HOW TO GET THERE AND TEH FACT THAT IT WILL TAKE 47 MINUTES EACH WAY IS #$%^& ANNOY ING. the pups are there and in teh crate while we fight boston traffic????? hopefully a usda office is a usda office every day of the year.

i had meant yesterday dd to pose the question ... what exactly is teh call for bass tubas in the world?
i watch HOW IT IS MADE-- and tehr e was an interesting and impressive factory tht makes them --in france--- which does not make them french horns-- that is different... and i looked on ebay-- they are for sale there $4500-- i do wonder wt the turnover is- and how many new tubas are required nationwide on a weekly basis.. does that justify the factory in france?
?
i remember......my father said one should get in the business on making somethgn everyone in the world needs and costs 19 cents like fly swatters.... as opposed to manufacturing tractor trailers which cost $100,000 and only one of thse is needed in the whole united states. he also has a greaat deal to say about manufacturing anything which involved the word "freight"-- you don't want to be caught with big things the world decides they no longer want..
don't laugh--ask Boeing.
...
now to get some money to pet air to confirm the flight.
have i told you how i don't like banks???? no one really WORKS - for a baank....as in getting hands dirty... mike rowe type WORK,..
for another day.
