  no  computer fixer yet....and i am out of tylenol---bad day at black rock...

maybe i could make a list of the joints thqt  complain about the lack of ingesting something  before my feet hit the floor-

i think the reason  so many of you read this is my life experiences are different than the usual well educated appartment dweller

so when i say. it is the kind of day when the churn paddle is stuck.. it becomes an educationql 

moment when you find that  it is a malfunctioning  butter churning device. that is stuck.... for which there is hardly any cure

except to quit and live  with what you have......mushie butter...

speaking of mushie butter..

..i bet none of you remember the little pack of yellow vasoline looking stuff that you had to squeeze for 10 minutes to mqke the margerine

look like butter. ?1945??  the butter manufacturers would not let the sell yellow butter looking margerine

your education was entirely different

kids now know the words.... but the concept is too abstract.

 you people have done things like study physics... 3 points form one and only one.  plane-- 

 where i know the milking stool has 3 legs and never wobbles.

kids are so far removed from reality that they probqlby think milk comes out of a stool that milks....

you laugh... but i see it daily---

especially around the farm where no one ever thinks of levers 

all this started. because i realized that any cowboy who shall remain nameless......-- with his totally different experoemces from which he might draw expressions.

he actually listened d react-ed to the conversation- with some expressions i am sure johnny carson would have paid money to use....

i conversarion  was about  girlfriends- and he. very quickly replied "she knows how to jingle my spurs.."  i'd not heard that before.

i remember the best. fastest  response i ever heard on tv--- for which there oculd hav been no practice.  when johnny carson  said......

"i didn't know you was jewish".  when a thrown axe landed where iut shouo d not have.

i love conversations where people are actually listening to what is said. adn not trying to frame what they will say next...

 especially when thqt conversation is about fitting angels on the head of a pin...

people say all the time.....  "i fouind it ---why is it always the last pace i look?"   why would you keep looking with "it" in your hand?

strange blog action.  but we made it

long ago..  all you camera people ... got on the bandwagon and sent us all your old glasses.....  i can not tell you how many people you have helped with those... 

currently me.... it started with someone standing in my living rom saying  "i would love to donate,  but i left my glasses home."   

 i was determined not to have that happen again so i asked you all to send me all those old glasses yo outgrew 14 years ago..

boy did we get them.-------2 bushel baskets full...---- finally collected the  bunch.. some new reading... ... lots of prescriptions--  eventually i gave most to the lions club who had some provision for distributing them.. and saved. a large shoebox full for. our volunteers etdc... and now me.

i hope you all realize. there are 2 companies who have publiclly stated  "we can put her out of business".  these people have generated some really creative and upsetting internet

notices ever since they moved in.........where i am guilty of all kinds of things-- just bent on upsetting us.. so take anything  out there with a grain of salt..   i think we are in good shape... granted we don't have a 5 million dollar capital fund-- but if any of you want to fix that-- please go right ahead.. and we could stand a few more pupppies... tho cee cee will hopefully help us with that.  in a couple weeks......

 every movie out has to have the  "no animals were hurt in the  filming of this movie" if you were about to invest 5 million in a movie, would you take the slightest chance on an animal handler  being abusive of animal?   -- and the humaine society has watched me from loading at the farm to returning and never had any question.

the last humaine guy said  "just watch her animals around her.. they are not afraid of her."    other than setting fire to a box of cockroaches i got out of some restaurant my record is perfect.... and i think  moviemakers chose me    because of that. -- also i had a record of being on time. with the correct animal. 

just to be technically correct so.    facebookers  don't  develope some other yarn....

a usda inspector did complain about not vacuuming the window ledge of the chicken coop( years  ago when kennel 3 was a grain room). --and. lately.   there was one who said i should put  ID chips in my goats.... in case they got loose........

 r est assured for years.... for towns around....i am the first person the fire and police call when there is an identified animal loose--- i have caught many horses for the fire department  for years...   i once--- at 2am----- stuffed a pony in the back of an ipswich cruiser--------- getting a bit old for that now.

fyi--- and just to make this educational--- a trick of mine that sometimes works with a horse -- if you have nothing else.... is to rub your extended  hands togethe -- makes a soiund teh horses think is grain.. in you r extended hands---giving you the split second to get a rope around them,...

 the next month's chicken brick is apparent,y working.        now to try for the daily doggie.   my call for help from the fixer has. not been answered yet

 so who knows...

i wpuld really like to stand up and make a 30  second speech at 3:00 at shitting time about a list of all the things i am not supposed to say in print.

maybe if i put $500 in the swear bear to pay ahead for all the things i would like to say....   

the problem is. there are things i would like to sa y that are true but might hurt someone's feelings---- which would not be nice.....--- and  therer are things that are true that might hurt someone's feelings and i don't give a tinkers danm if they do.

amid the  wierdos struggling for bltching room on facebook there are some nice folk --- one filled my freezer yesterday with black rassberry  and pistashio ice cream.  as per yesterdays DD...

what happened to the expression  about walking in someone else's shoes before saying what is on your  mind..

well before you offer to walk in my shoes let me tell you  what i have been stepping in for the past 3 years.

just a sample.... these pertain to real "orders"

 a dog on a farm decreases the farm's access to laws pertaining to  farming.

 who comes first --the chicken or the egg--- teh owner of 40 years vs. the new developement of appartment owners...

what time may i get up and go to work...

what part of my farm is now unusable?

does answering the phone with "service dog project , may i help you"  decrease the quality of the training of dogs?

who may wear  what logo while doing what?

who may use what bathroom at which time...

what is the difference between   "idiot" and "f#$%^& idiot"  and where may  each term NOT  be used....?

if it is true that.  age may  dull the sword's edge,  . may it also not  sharpen the points?

is facebook the only editor to sift thru the trash from tthe minds of all owners of a keyboard??

does negative bashing make anyone stand taller-- or anyone operate any better????

sdp's-- and my.  ---goal was... and will be---- the production of dogs to make someone's life better.

it will not be. to entertain  the negative  people  who have nothing to do but complain that " there are flys in teh barn"

or cp. report that employee xxxx sat for 38 minutes patting  puppy yyyy.

back to reality and a purpose-full  operation.

we have a job to do.

 over 200 dogs out working---  "3-H dogs".  happy ... hard working--- handy"

"we did it before and we can do it again". ??world war 2. ????? 

heaven knows there is a plethora of people who need all our dogs.

SDP has  our mission.... let us not get distracted by  paperwork or people.

 the shatupon is screwed up today.. so i opened next weeks....

what would i really like to do today???  sit in bed and eat ice cream all day -- black rassberry ice cream-- and maybe every third quart  pistashio.-- but------between the bathroom scale, my  aging bladder and various attitudes-- i can not do that.

 i like the horses-- it is a bit of a love hate relationship. because horses are extremely labor intensive.... i have spent at least 75 years of my life worrying about  what friends relatives.. had which  horse to ride... who had what truck or trailer to transport them to wherever they want to ride... like the 4h kids to  vermont... or  the topsfield fair.  my kids... the neighbors kids... .  3 trips over. 3 trips home----- i never rode.  finally i bought harvey. a qh buckskin- at 40 cents a pound ( 1100 pounds) because he kicked so badly they couold not get him out of his stall for 2 months....    i figured only the back end kicked and we did very well....   and i did get to.   ride when my husbands horse neeeded to be galloped so some jockey could beat  on him with a whip.. so he would run on a broken knee - ( normal in the racing world)   my riding just for the fun of it... has been minimal. 

now age has got the best of me--- almost----and for me to even  sit on a horse is a major production...

but.. i  now own a beautiful black mare-- really spectacular--- if yuo can catch her--- i can no longer walk far enough to catch  her--- but matt can. with great planning...  so most of my enjoyment  is watching taxi get away from matt.

now that may not sound like a reason to maintain a 1200 pound hay burning machine.... or the cowboy who. is really quite a talented animal person-- been around alot of animals for a long time.... and taxi can still ---on ocasion --- outrun him... and look beautiful doing it. and i laugh...horse catching is alomst as fun to watch as riding.   it is certainly a lot more fun than watching horses get beaten so they will run in a circle so inebriated males can "own a horse" for the 3 minutes involved....... but normal horse chasing........   i have been there myself trying to catch some kids horse before it gets cut on some fence or stump... so teh kid can ride in circles before some judge where you hope she gets any ribbon.. not jjust the blue.....
so we all grow up- and finally i get a horse big/sound/relatively pleasent .. once you catch her-- and i like watching her gallop thru the trees... and maybe wishing i could still  at least a walk thru the trees ---- it would be fun...  but one tree limb.  would also be fatal... or if not fatal then total immobilizing with things like broken hip... in a nursing home--- without a window to even watch her run.

i can not tell you how many people i know who own horses that they never ride....and if they spend their money on brian ( the vet) instead of getting sick on a carnival cruise.. so be it... why not me?   i have always told janine--- who's expansion of. ERN is always on the horriszn... that the 3 stalls and that side of the barn were horse territory..... all she has access too. and about once a year i find a horse in the flat field grass.... bad thing... horses make mud  out of grass....with their pointy hooves.  

entire point being.   the horse. taxi.. and friends.... belong... to me... and will be kept in the "horse area". .. maintained by someome... not me....in exchange for whatever i can wrangle. with the least disturbance of sdp operation as possible.   he will never say to me "i am not helping that dog side". nor will the sdp people ever say "i am not helping with the horsE  project" without very severe repercussions from me.    the horses and donkeys....  are educational ly fun.  to the cp's.  and they are M. I. N. E.    I BUY THE OATS AND HAY.. not a penny of sdp donatons go to  horses.  

now for the frustrating part. --- you couldn't wait???  to hear anyone complain about spending the entire morning cleaning stalls. when janine, matt ( or a younger i ) could clean a stal in 5 minutes or. less... and do it better...is frustrating-- i have to let it go a as. "playing with wheelbarrows 101" volunteers are learning in the fresh air...

it is very close to having to watch paid staff carefully dry the dog food dishes in the kitchen

they will dry themselves....  keep  moving...

HAS ONLY A PART TIME JOB-- LIVING IN GLOUCESTR... AN AWFUL LOT FITS-- SHE HS READ QUITE A FEW BOOKS, BUT WE CAN UNDO THAT QUICKLY....

ONE OF MY EUROPEAN CONTACTS HAS A LITTER-- ALL HARLES....- BUT I THINK WITH CEECEE HOPEFLYY DUE, I TOLD LYNN... BUT HOPE SHE DECIDES TO WAIT TL AFTER CEECEE...

brainstorming must never be called negative........ must be ideas only.no knocking others whack o ideas... they might  stimulate some other  realistic one.

Sometimes it takes awhile------- of avoiding topics regarding payroll in the dd.....well

 there is certainly one thing that was very different back when I started this in 2003 that was I never paid minimum wage. I paid much more than minimum minimum wage and had so many fewer problems --- people were happier with their job regardless of what it was and life was so much easier minus the negativism that abounds in all of society today not just us although we have our problems .. let's think.if supervisor "A". is doing a fantastic job should i keep thinking well we should give her more money and then I thought very carefully last night at 2:00 AM-------- I bet if I asked supervisor "A".  if she would rather have a raise.   or give two of the staff people a significant raise thus making them more reliable more cheerful +a lot of other things I bet she would choose to have the staff get the raise... so in a position I'm trying to come up with an optimum staff situation we must figure are fewer better paid better than more at  even close to minimum wage----- the point is clear

for instance-----we have many nurses working here for the minimum wage because that's what we've been paying------- they are terrific they deserve more and they put things back ----Can you imagine----- putting anything back where it belongs---- so there's a that bonus value in hiring nurses and to be fair they need to be paid more since  they behave better and they certainly do ------they are rarely late they're very well trained not only in nursing but in peoplehood..

that's another thing I find around here is that someone who likes their job is ten 15.  20 minutes early.... people who are negative down in the dumps in a bad mood things like that they show up 10 minutes late and they still need a cup of coffee before they get operational-------

Way back...... 2003-2010.  I ran around here  by myself....feeding watering ..training... the place was not as spotless... but everybody was alive and well... and there.  stil ws time to think of weird improvements ... like  sleeping upstairs in lofts made with the lumber out of the partridge berry place construction site.   First designed with cardboard from Costco toilet paper piles.  So now I don’t run... I don’t even crawl.... I ride around in my heated car and wonder things.

I have--- in the past – like 5 year.  ago.. became fascinated with how much time it took to cleqn one kennel....  and bought that back pack vacuum cleaner I saw being used in mass general.... in stead of casually decideing it took   13 to 18 minutes to clean one kennel. I should have been timing the minium amt of time.. and then finding a person who would keep to that  schedule... instead of the person who figured “I have 18 min.. I may as well take 24”.

When Janine was younger--- college age---I seemed to have a good supply of kids wh o would stay up all night studying.. who then figured to be paid at the sme time was a bonus....  where are those kids now..??  maybe I have not looked the right places....

All right. so I would like to  try and pay more— and expect more vim and vigor on the  job... even walking faster would help

computer problems----- yestrrday i could not get the dd to print on the web site.... i will try again...

 and many people had problems buying a chicken brick-- i managed to enter a few for quick picks. but that shatupon "table" is in trouble too.

..i have called for a computer fixer. but don't hold your breath???? 

there's another.....payroll concept.... if i could hire someone and be guarenteeded of a perfectly functioning computer every day.....i would hire them immediately .... william??? where are you???

 i know you are all just waiting for the results of a board meeting last night... but between being nearly deaf and everyone talking all  at once... i  can not honestly say what  or if. anything was decided-- except the part about  i must not put anything in the daily doggie...    which i do not understand since  you all are the ones with. the $10 chicken bricks to support sdp....they don't even want me to include." in my opinion".  on anything.-- and i sure have alot of those....

makes writing difficult.

so let me tell you about my new endeavor...  it is so new no one has had a chance to get mad at me about it yet ... -- welllllll yes... apparently i made a mistake yesterday-- several people called me on it...  apparently-----the abrieviation for monkey fists is not MF..   in my innocence i never thought-- tho i should have.... in my past.....like 40 years ago... i was sitting in  lawyers office with my sister and we needed a name for  a "company" involving  my mothers property...  her name was mabel francis hayes-- so i said MFH... and the lawyer sat back for a few minutes  then said ..."what does the 'H'. stand for?"-- i remember that....

so back to crazy acres-----josh got some  federal grant to do something enterprizingly well..... he chose to make monkey fists-- and he now makes them-- alot of them---

i don't knwo what the second phqse of this project is.... but i can loan him the vast array of sizes... including the 8" brown manilla rope one--- and the 9 fingered12" big bowling ball one. plus those 1" zipper pulls that RE SO POPULAR... AND HE WILL HAVE TO MAKE SOME OF THOSE TOO.. JUST SO HE CAN SAY HE DID...

LETS SAY WITH HONESTY IN ADVERTISING--- THAT'LL BE A NEW ONE.

now for a report from the "fresh frozen rodent  delivery company".....FFRDC-- 

we have 2 bagged and frozen.... 2 zapped/flap.  hiding elsewhere  and 8   "ready for business.."..

for lack of anythng better, i could list the contents of our cellar.  the biggest and best would be a stainless steel  4 x 4   cage....

 the kind that can be used ion wildlife that need sqishing against the side so you can get a tranq needle in theem somewhere... probably cost a fortune....

but useless  unless you have a monkey that needs sqishing..

in our case it only got used to keep the dogs out of the latest laundry inside......
