as for  puppy productionin general-- to have pups available for training spaced out at a reasonable distance,  if we had 5 pups every 2 months we would have the right ages to accomodate our kennels and personell --- 30 dogs a year   would ideally give us 3 stashed for breeding --5  away as therapy/ pets...  and 22 to start training-- and thos  22 would be in 5 or 6 stages of training....  from eating out of a bowl to manipulating stairs in the subway...

right now we are terribley behind in puppy production  as you all know....  females just did not cycle in spring of 2019.

ANOTEHER SUCCESSFUL SHATTING... I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE EXTRA STAFF I HAD PLANNED TO HAve around on shatting sunday- but luckily judy was here to cover-- i am still very short on sleep... i hate to take sleeping pills- because they work so well i am not  alert during the day.

the 13 pups are doing well-- if anyone out there would like to  sit with the pups overnight- and be paid, please let me know--- we would then have you interview with sizzle and gabby- to see if they appporve-- because they are fussy...  we are very dependent on  volunteeers--- especially at odd times--   we have alot of volunteers for afternoons  but odd times like   the 8 am shift is a bit sparse.

jaegar was here - after hitting alot of teh boston news last week for being so well behaved and striking looking... he behaves perfectly in boston, but comeou t here , and there are just too many friends to talk to... his owner must weigh200 pounds... and jaegar had no trouble dragging him much more than necessary--- i spent the aqfternoon yelling "let go of him"  as jaegar just had to say hello to devlin ( trainer)  and several othres.

 I WAS WATCHING SIZZLE AND THE OVERNIGHT PERSON THIS MORNING. SHE SEEMED TO BE NODDING OFF A BIT AND SIZZLE FOCUSED ON HER.

SIZZLE STARED AT HER AND IT LOOKED LIKE SHE GAVE A SOFT WOOF, WHICH BROUGHT HER BACK.

 NOW TO MY UNEDUCATED EYE, IT SEEMED THAT SIZZLE TUNED INTO SOMETHING AND WAS WONDERING IF SIZZLE HAS THAT UNTRAINABLE TALENT OF NOTICING THINGS.

 I AM REALLY TRYING TO WORD THIS CORRECTLY SO IT DOESN’T SOUND LIKE I AM IN ANYWAY CRITIZING THE OVERNIGHT PERSON , I THINK SHE IS FANTASTIC WITH THE DOGS. I JUST WANTED TO POINT OUT SIZZLES BEHAVIOR AS SHE WAS SO IMMEDIATELY FOCUSED ON HER.

HOW BAD IS IT? - I WAS DRIVING THRU A MALL PARKING LOT AND A GUY PARKED HIS PICKUP WHAT I THOUGHT WAS WIERDLY-- I.E. FURTHER FROM TEH  STORE ENTRANCE THAN WAS NECESSARY--  HE HAD A BEARD OF THE SCHRAGGLY VARIETY AND WAS CARRYING A LONG THIN PAckage probably 36 x 5 inches. I WATCHED HIM WALK TOWARD TEH MALL WITH THAT  AND WONDERED....... IF I DON'T CALL POLICE I COU D BE VERY SORRY-- IF I CALL I COULD BE EMBARASSED`.,

 I OPTED FOR BEING EMBARASSED AND CALLED THE POLICE TO SAY THERE IS A GUY..... WALKING TOWARD THE MALL  ENTRANCE WITH A PACKAGE SHAPED LIKE THAT----- I DON'T THINK IT WAS 60 SECONDS AND THE PLACE WAS SURROUNDED-- BOTH MARKED AND UN MARKED CARS LIGHTS FLASHING...... AND STOPPED HIM FROM RETURNING AN UMBRELLA.

I WISH THAT WAS FUNNY-  I PULLED UP TO  A POLICE CRUISER AND APPOLOZISED FOR TEH UPROAR..AND THE POLICE WOMAN SAID "IT WAS AN EXCELLENT REHEARSAL BECAUSE IT IS GONG TO HAPPEN"------ GOING TO???????

another night without a lot of slleep-- somebody paniced about a pup going under a pillow- and called..   they had the best of intentions, but there comes a point where i have to do the best we can and hope for hte best..- `  the 6 black pups are hard for cp's  to see- but they were all there..   believe me.. we count alot..

adn sizz's 4 are much easier to keep track of/.

i am going to get out of here today--- bentley and i need a bit of fresh air...  maybe a costco run??? -

however-- before that-- i have a littel paperwork to do...

i have our training  data organized so i can find what i need, but..... i am suposed to be concerned with continuity - and with adi coming , i need to clean it up a bit to be a little more user friendly.

basically-- i have one data file which is who is assigned to what dog... who took what dog where and what was their worst problem  that need attention..( no point in keeping track of the best stuff..) 

the overnight report of who is where and/or  off property with whom?

then tehr is the breeding info- who is related to whom  or  bred  to XXX  and what the results were and what colors produced what colors  with one eye on white/deaf...

all that is closely related to a master list of  dogs/ bloodlines/ general health and vacinations. who has what dog and why-- from service dog to pet dog to breeding..

of course then the medical/ poo report  cylindars, mounds, flat, and with sound on about 50 dogs...

all that is closely related to the medication   report-- we can not have any outdated- and just discovered 23 vacinations expiriong sept 1 -- which  only the pups will need at 6 weeks- everyone else is up to date.... that means  the pups will not be old enough by the time the vacines will be expired-- and for teh few days involved,, i would go ahead and use  only being over by 14 days,, but in that time... ADI will be inspecitn in that time... so meg took them to vet hosp-- for quick use.-- i ordered 50 more... i did no hear if danvers swapped som other for those...

 then pay roll-- we farmed out

the income part    a check from explore,org did arrive ( it is yearly)  plus...you all are doing wonderfull with teh rest of teh payroll-- shating sunday is tomorrow and i thnk we have only 100 bricks to go...

Please keep speaking up!  Garnet and I run into people everyday that are so amazed and inspired at what she does for me and how well trained she is.  I constantly hear “I didn’t think Danes were suited to be a service dog!” But the truth is evident in every single SDP dog and how well you have trained them.  They are perfect for the jobs they are asked to do.

So please keep up the great work and keep speaking up.  Main stream trainers need to understand and accept the truth.  Great Danes are simply the best for mobility work, I know I would be stuck in a wheelchair if not for this beautiful girl!

AUGUST ?-  BUT I BET YOU ALL KNEW THAT ALREADY....  BIGGEST EXCITEMENT IS TEH PHOTO OF FIONA "WALKING ON THE WATER" -- WELL ACTUALLY AT A MINI GOLF COURSE AND IT IS  ELVIS AND FIONA CROSSING THE STREAM BY WALKING ON  STONES ABOUT 2' DIAMETER-- NOW REALLY.... - ADD THAT TO THE  CURTAIN CALL WITH ERICA AND AHSER-- AND IF I CAN FIND IT  EVE TWIRLING AROUND FINN  IN A FASHION SHOW  AND YOU MIGHT BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND  SOME OF THE  FREEDOM THESE DOGS PROVIDE.  those areamazing photos--- but  i can not forget  being   amazed long ago to have some one burst into tears because they could finally get out of teh parking lot to the market over the huge impediment of the 6 inch curb. somehow the expression " beauty is in the eye of the beholder" caN BE MOLDED INTO  "IMPOSSIBLE  IS IN THE EYE OF THE  BEHOLDER"  SOMEHOW-- THIS ALL FALLS INTO  INSTEAD OF BEMOANING WHAT YOU CAN NOT DO,  JUST FORGET THOSSE AND  LOOK TO ALL THE THINGS THAT MAYBE YOUU NEVER THOUGHT OF TRYING .  AT A VERY EARLY AGE I WANTED TO PLAY THE PIANO- AND LORD KNOWS MY MOTHER WANTED ME TO PLAY THE PIANO- EVEN BOUGHT AN OLD UPRIGHT-- I SPENT  SEVERAL YEARS AND REALLY MADE NO PROGRESS WHICH MY MOTHER THOUGHT WAS  MY LACK OF EFFORT - A LARGE CASE MIGGHT BE MADE I WAS  WHAT THEY NOW CALL " AN ACTIVE CHILD"  I WOULD BE CONDEMNED TO  T HE PIANO ROOM AT LEAST 1/2 HOUR A DAY TO PRACTICE.  FINALLY  SHE DECIDED I SHOUD PLAY TEH CLARINET- AND WE WENT THAT ROAD WITH LITTLE TO NO SUCCESS EITHER. INSTEAD OF TRYING DESPARATELY TO MAKE ME  INTO A CULTURED MUSIC  CONNOISSEUR  SHE SHOULD HAVE TRIED BASKET WEAVING. NOW AT 80 I REALIZE  TEHRE IS ABSOLUTELY NO CONNECTION BETWEEN MY READING ANYTHING AND HAVE IT CONNECT WITH MY HANDS - LIKE  MUSIC OR WORDS IF INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO PUT A BED FRAME TOGETHER.  READING STUFF NEVER HELPS. IF I CAN NOT FIGURE IT OUT-  I HAVE TO FORGET IT ! I HOPE THAT KNOWLEDGE HELPS THE EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY-- WHAT IT MEANS IS ---- WHY 4 YEARS OF COLLEGE TO STUDY POLITICAL SCIENCE WHEN PLUMBING WOULD BE  IN THE BEST INTEREST OF  THE PERSON AND THE COMMUNITY. GOTTA LOVE MIKE ROWE. ******************** COOKIES  There seemed to be some confusion yesterday on who sent the cookies.  I ordered them and they were supposed to have “Attention: Dianna  on the address label.  Also, there was to be a card with the following message: “Welcome to the new puppies! Cookies for the caregivers. Enjoy!! Dianna   I watched the recording of mail call again this morning.  It looks like there was something that Steve tucked down the side of the box ... maybe the card or could have just been an ad they included.
