i wish......i have had a lot of suggestion s about how to train teh younger generation how to use tools... BETWEEN JUST SHOW TEHM ----TO ----MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT EACH....you people do not understand---LET ME TRY..... i had a wonderful group of "kids"- HIGH SCHOOL AGE....-- with adults... perfectly normal-- well educated ( not by mike rowe's standards... but probably harvard.)
**
we needeed to move a bunch of rails 10' long ---- now if you picked on e up by yourself you held it in the middle and got dirty-- i was sitting in th e tractor, i tried to get these people to carry them with one person on either end... plenty of kids and people--much cleaner-- i "instructed" BY SAYING ..... use 2 people-- one at either end.... seemed clear to me....
i had to get off teh tractor to show them what i meant...--
so here is another-- same day.. same adults and kids. i set teh tractor so they could put the rails across the 5 foot bucket.
the first adult put a rail with 5' in teh bucket 5 foot sticking out to the right-- the next person in the bucket and 5 foot to the left so that is a 15 FOOT WIDTH AND A 12 FOOT GATE TO GO THRU-- SO I SAID " I NEED TO HAVE YOU PUT THEM ON TOP OF THE BUCKET- EVENLY SPACED SO IT IS NOT SO WIDE.. I HAD TO GE TO OFF THE TRACTOR AND SHOW THEM..
THE NEXT IS EVEN WORSE... THE OBJECT WAS TO SET 2 RAILS ON 3 ( MOVEABLE) TREE STUMPS TO KEEP PEOPLE ON THE DRIVEWAY --- AND ONE BUNCH DID WELL- I TURNED AROUND AND THE SECOND BUNCH WITH 3 TREE STUMPS AND 2 RAILS----HAD SET THE FIRST 10' RAIL BETWEEN 2 STUMPS THAT THEY HAD PLACED ABOUT 6 FEET APART- THEN THE SECOND PERSON PUT THE NEXT STUMP 10 FEET FROM THE 6 FOOT ONE AND SET A RAIL ON IT. SO THE 20 SPACE BY THE SMOKERS TENT HAD A 16 FOOT "RAIL" -SO HELP ME THE MAN TURNED AND SAID "IT'S TOO SHORT" -- NOW TO GET THAT GUY TO MOVE THAT MIDDLE STUMP FROM 6' TO 10 FROM THE FIRST WAS COMPLICATED BECASUE HE THEN SAID "IT'S STILL TOO SHORT" BECAUSE IT WAS 6 FOOT FROM TEH THIRD STUMP. I JUST SAT AND WATCHED.. TO MOVE THE THIRD STUMP WAS NOT AN IMMEDIATE SOLUTION BUT THEY DID FIGURE IT OUT.
SO ALL YOU FOLK WITH THE HELPFUL SOLUTIONS-- LETS START WITH HAVING YOU WRITE A DESCRIPTION OF 2 ENDS OF A 20 FOOT CHAIN THAT ARE DIFFERENT- WHY? AND HOW TO USE THEM IN WHAT SITUATION..?
I HAD HOPED KEAGAN WOULD BE HERE TODAY TO HELP ME WORK OUTSIDE.. HE IS GETTING TRAINED BETTER ALL THE TIME... HE IS UNUSUAL-- AND A BIG HELP..
PLUS....I CAN NOT GET ON AND OFF THE TRACTOR 20 TIMES--
ALSO I NEED TO GO GET MY CAR-- NEEDED NEW BRAKES-- I AM SURE IT IS THE STEEP DRIVEWAY AND THE VERY HEAVY TRAILERS-
HONESTLY--- TEH TOYOTA DEALER GUY QUIETLY TOLD ME THE SEQUOIAS WERE NOT AS GOOD AT TRAILER TOWING AS A 15O FORD...
? THE BAD PART? IN A COMPLICATED SWAP, JANINE HAS MY BLUE 150 TO TOW HER/MY/THE HORSE TRAILER...AND I LIKE MY SEQUOIA
SO I BUY BRAKES... EVEN IF IT ONLY HAS 35,000 MILES ON IT,
