A fire burned the house to the ground ( was source of water for barn with 30 horses)
Water main break 6” water in many buildings.
Horse down a 15’ cistern
Wild ape loose on the property
Truck and driver nose down in a sink hole.
30 tons of hay starting to smolder in the hay loft
Saving 8 dane pups on iv's who had parvo
While working 2 at home jobs, and raising 2 children.
so when this accreditation insists i need to ensure we are in compliance with laws on emergency lighting... or demanding... our staff should have fire drills on how to exit a building.---- my signs about "in case of fire, get out" were not sufficient.
our last "inspector" was sheila obrien who aT LEAST knew my dogs well- and at least haD a sense of humor about my trying to adhere ALL THIS #$%^&*()...
BUT I MUST TRY- IT IS GONG TO TAKE ALL THE SELF CONTROL I CAN MUSTER.....AND WE ALL KNOW.......I AM SHORT ON THAT. SO----- FOR EMERGENCIES..
From experience ..I know that all you can do is try and maintain a state of readiness. From current fire extinguishers to keeping cars filled with fuel - the more details you can maintain the better.
There is a thought process I go thru—starting with STOP AND THINK.

JUST PLAIN TRIPPED AND FELL- THE IMMEDIATE PROBLEM WAS 2 150 POUND DOGS WHO THOUGHT IT WAS PLAY TIME - LAURA-- LOOKED-- SAW-- AND DEALT WITH THAT- LINDA DIDN'T HAVE TO LOOK OVER ANYTHING BUT JUST DIALED 911- I LOOKED OVER HER TO SEE WHAT ELSE COUDL HAPPEN--LIKE BLEEDING WHICH I DID NOT SEE- I DID SEE AN ARM WHICH WAS GOING TO NEED HOLDING TOGETHER AND SAW NO REASON FOR US TO ATTEMPT A SPLINT WITH EMT'S ALREADY ON TEH WAY . MEGAN CAME AND SAW AND GOT FLUFFIES AND TALKED TO DONNA - SITUATION WAS STABLE-- I WENT TO MAKE SURE THE AMBU DIDN'T MISS OUR DRIVEWAY-
NOT ONE OF US WENT TO GET HER PAPERWORK ABOUT WHAT TO DO...-- NOW IF SHE WAS A VISITOR WHO HAD LEFT HER DRIVERS LIC IN HER CAR-- AND GOT KNOCKED OUT-- WE MIGHT HAVE NEEDED TO LOCATE HER EMERGENCY CONTACT..-- BUT A NEW VISITOR WOULD NOT HAVE FILLED OUT THAT PAPER ANYWAY.
BUT WE HAVE PROBABLY 2 INCHES OF PAPERS SIGNED BY VOLUNTEERS-- PROBAbly not alphabetissed??
