is it a coincidence that over the new years tv shows 104% of teh commercials are perfect ways to lose 50 pounds with their diet.----- seeing as i have already broken at least 81 resolutions, i gave up... well almost... until i opened the emails and had to delete some very clever emails which guarenteed all kinds of money for our not for profit sdp..... but really would make 1/18 of a penny off each email address they could steal..... i do try...
i remember--- my father inventing the trailer loading ramp- which involved huge pieces of iron--- advising me to invent a better fly swatter AND HOPE TO MAKE A FRACTION OF A PENNY FOR EACH TO AVOID FREIGHT CHARGES...
HE HAD TEH CONCEPT RIGHT--- I HAVE NOT DONE THAT YET-- BUT I AM WORKING ON IT.... BY TRYING TO STUDY THE IQ OF A FLY. I HAVE A FEELING THEY ARE PRETTY HIGH. THEIR ABILITY TO LAND ON SOMETHING FRAGILE,-- IS OUTSTANDING....
I SUPPOSE I SHOULD ATTEMPT TO SAY SOMETHING BRILLIANT FOR THE JAN FIRST BIT... BUT SEEING AS I JUST WOKE UP IT IS NOT LIKELY. IF I HAD ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT 2018 IT WOULD BE "SLOW UP AND THINK" -- DETAILS GET WASHED OVERBOARD BY THE SUNAMI OF THE NEXT WAVE..
TAKE VOLUNTEERING --- EVERY TIME I GO TO COSTCO- AS I DID YESTERDAY, I MEET PEOPLE WHO WOULD LOVE TO VOLUNTEER-- I GIVE THEM A POKERCHIP AND A PEP TALK, BUT THERE IS NOT MUCH LONG TERM FOLLOW THRU... THERE ARE MANY WHO BY AGE (OR OTHER DISABIITY) COULD BE LAUNDRY FOLDERS... HEAVEN KNOWS WE HAVE PLENTY OF THAT.... TEH PROBLEM IS... WE HAVE A TABLE RIGHT BESIDE THE DRYER FOR LAUNDRY FOLDING... IT IS IN THE CELLAR- WHICH IS NOT THE MOST FRIENDLY CELLARS-- SO WE NEED TO MOVE TEH LAUNDRY FOLDING TO THE PUPPY PEN FOR A "THEY SLEEP, YOU FOLD" AND I THINK WE WOULD HAVE BETTER VOLUNTEERISM...
AS FOR THE POOPICKERS WANDEERING ALL OVER THE 12 ACRES WITH A WHITE BUCKET AND 2 PUTTY KNIVES IN HAND, THEY SEEM TO BE A CONTENTED CREW WITH TEH FRESH AIR- EVEN WHEN IT IS 4 DEGREES BELOW... THEY KEEP COMING AND SMILING. SMILING IS A BIG THING AROUND HERE...
I CERTAINLY HAVE FOUND I, PERSONALLY, DON'T MIND DOING MOST ANY CHORE AS LONG AS IT IS DONE AN EFFICIENT WAY WITH GOOD EQUIPMENT... YEARS OF DELIVERING MAGAZINES IN $100 CARS THAT NEVER STARTED RELIABLY TAUGHT ME THAT. I AM NO LONGER THRILLED TO FIND A HILL ON WHICH TO PARK.
WHICH BRINGS ME TO ... WHAT ARE TYE RODS??? I THINK THEY HAVE SOMETHIGN TO DO WITH STEERING-- SOMEONE WARNED ME THAT WHATEVER THEY ARE.... THE KABUTA ONES ARE NOT FEELING WELL. TAKING THAT TO AQ DEALER COUDL BE DONE... IN THE DUMP TRAILER.. WHICH HAS LOADING RAMPS-- EXCEPT I DON'T LIKE TOTTERING ABOUT 3 FEET OFF THE GROUND ON SOMETING WITH ONLY INCHES OF ACCEPTABLE ERROR... SO I AM HOPING FOR SOME VOLUNTEER TO BE ABLE TO AT LEAST IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM-- SO I CAN LOOK IT UP ONLINE AND ORDER SOME NEW ONES...
WORKING ON THE TRACTOR IS MADE EASIER BY THE FACT THAT IT WILL LIFT ITSELF UP OFF THE GROUND. HYDRALICS ARE A WONDERFUL THING.
WHEN I SENT THE 4 TIRES AWAY TO HAVE THEM BE MADE UN-DEFLATABLE IT SAT IN THE YARD LOOKING LIKE SOME HUGE ORANGE SPIDER FOR 2 WEEKS.

- servicedogproject“I literally needed to grab something outside my room a couple doors down (maybe 10 steps) and brought Elvis with me and one of my crutches. I thought it would be fine. Elvis didn't have a harness on him or anything and I was just leaning on him. Anyways, it was not my smartest decision and I fell. I couldn't get back up with my crutch, so I just left it behind and decided that Elvis was the best bet to get me the few steps back to my room, so I could grab my wheelchair even though he had no harness on. I decided to throw my crutch back towards my room and to video this situation. He got me back on my feet and was so perfect. He literally saves me everyday in vest or out.” Could they be anymore of a perfect team

Thank you Carlene for the wonderful week I had at Service Dog Project. The hospitality shown to me by you and all the SDP staff and volunteers was awesome. I knew when I applied to volunteer that there would be hard work, and I was not wrong. I think after watching the cams for 6 years and now finally being able to experience Crazy Acres first hand changes how I now watch the farms activities. it gives me a greater appreciation and respect for all the staff and regular volunteers that work tirelessly daily to raise the fantastic Danes that go on to change peoples lives. Through the cams your not only helping recipient's but many camera people who may be homebound or dealing with troubles of their own. The cameras give us a window on a very special place and a break from our daily troubles. In my case I have been very depressed since the passing of my mother this year and the cams have been a life line for me and having the opportunity to volunteer over what was a hard Christmas for me was made more bearable by keeping busy and working hard with everyone at Crazy Acres. Its very hard to be sad when surrounded by loving dogs, cute puppies and wonderful people all working toward the same gaol. The hard work was rewarded every few minutes by a flick of a tail and very wet doggie kisses and cuddles, just what I needed for Christmas. Crazy Acres IS a magical place and I am truly happy to have had the opportunity to experience it fully and will always continue to help support this fantastic organization, and hope I will be welcome to return some day soon to volunteer again and work my butt off.
Yours truly,
