HAD TO SEND THIS EMAIL  AND MY RESPONSE-- IN A EFFORT TO GET MORE DANE SERVICE TRAINING FACILITIES  STARTED.. -   **  FOR FEAR SHE WOULD THINK I WAS JUST THE USUAL NUT.....  I DID NOT DARE TO EXPLAIN HOW GOLDIE MIGHT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR  CONTACTING US ABOUT THOSE PUPS...  BUT THAT WAS NOT FAR FROM MY MIND.... ***** HERE IS HER EMAIL-- WITH NAME WITHHELD TO PROTECT TEH OUTFIT.  I have watched your live cam for many years and I know that you breed Great Danes for training as most service projects do but I have a question related to Great Dane puppies? I am the CEO of the board of a no kill animal control. In an unfortunate incident we seized a number of Great Danes and litters of great Danes as well as multiple other breeds that were being bred without a license. We have a number of great Dane puppies that are six weeks old and I was not sure if you or your organization ever used puppies that were not bred at your facility.   I am the former owner of a great Dane who was the love of my life and I raised him from a three day old pup because of some complications with his mother. He was just like a child to us. I know how special they are and we are working extremely hard to make sure that these great Danes end up in the right place and of course not in the wrong hands. They are just at the point of weaning and the court required that she surrender the puppies in the past few days. The adults are not yet surrendered but they are in our custody. These puppies (and parents) have been in our custody since they were days old.  I am also emailing a number of great Dane rescues but I would love to see the Danes utilized in a project that gives back. AND DONT-- OR TRY NOT TO --- PICK THEM UP -- BEND OVER AND PAT THEM  OR SIT ONTHE  FLOOR....  AND FEED IN INDIVIDUAL DISHES...   CONTROL THEM WITH THE TAPPING OF THE CAN--- AND GIVE TEHM ALL TEH EXERCISE YOU CAN I WILL EVEN SEND A SUPPLY OF POO PICKERS FOR INSTANT CLEANUP.  IT REALLY IS ONLY ONE DAY AT A TIME. ( EXCEPT FOR THE   IRS and their 501 c 3 bit  but that is a different story.)  to finally answer your question...  i have tried rescues,  with  one out of 7 successful-- and i thnk that was because they were not started OUR  way...  with teh spoon bit... - made true furthere by teh fact that we are having our hands full with penny-- born in germany and imported with her sister paula- both of which lack that  concentration we have in our spoon fed bunch./ to succeed also  you must be able to withstand aLOT OF COMMENTS..... NOW THAT WE HAVE GABBIES NAMES UNDER CONTROL  LILO  JASMINE  DAISY  NALA  ELSA  CHIP  DALE   SNOW --- SIMBA( THE BOY) --    I AM GOING TO NEED SOME HELP ON THE NEXT LITTER  - BECAUSE I HAve alsway wanted to use 2 names from their  bmw kennel history---we are going to need a running start on that one  because not only the official name-- must be  a long word..... have an cceptable meaning-- but  i t must  be contractable into a "kennel name" ----like      pandemonium ( pandy)     serendipity( dippy)   and since paula went home we can all start counting  to 63-- ? paula whelping early october??? **** it is not my faULT THAT MY DESK GETS SO CLUTTEREED--- WE FOUND LAST NIGHT THAT THE MICROPHONE FOR  5PM MAIL CALL WORKS BEST IF A JAR OF ELECTRIC TYE  WRAPS IS STUFFED UDNER THE SAGGING END OF THE CORD. ? more contents? COUPLE That with an audio book by dave barry i would love to  listen to in my car-- i gave up on the mueller report too many details to keep track of whild driving-- i coiud take 2 years off to understand it... or forget it...   **** a more pressing problem.....  fyi-- an extremely annoying detial -- those post it notes which zig zag out of the holder--  can not be written on in teh  deglued area by most normal pens.... anotehr case of cute but lacking init's essential function. ***   there is alot of that   SS  ( someday stuff)  on  my desk ** and  the worst of teh pile,,, is  a small pail wirth teh contents of my golf cart- because  while i napped- while it was being loaded with   stuff for teh dump..  something pressed hard on teh gas petal and in 15 feet it got going faqst enough to bend teh front axle beyond rrepair.. as it hit the wood pile.  tehre was teh usual " we should move it"  to which i replied why..."  it is not going anywhere"    i don't know if my insurance covers it-- the thing is my wheeled chair-- *** i remember..... 100 years ago-- when janine was first driving,  she was boing very slowly on the down hil driveway to the school when  she  hit black ice and slid slowly  into t he back wheel of a school bus  no damage to teh school bus  but the my yellow vw fender was bent intothe front wheel. police etc were called-- janine was terrified- and in the confusion  someone towed the  vw away to "the reepair shop"  - leaving her standiong there with no ride... so i  went and picked her up and we looked at teh  towing slip $200 to go 4 blocks to tehrepair shop where the cost was estimated to be $1200.    so we went and looked--- i was furious as  we  i grabged the fender with  our 4 hands and  bent the fender away from teh wheel and drove it home-- and drove it that way for many years.  a great lesson for her on   in an excitingt situation- sit down and think before you allow someone to charge you for somethign yoj should be able to do yourself/

yesterday i was told-----in my demonstration of teh panama canal- and the transferring of my rubber duckie from atlantic to pacific dishpans, i did not mention  the demo could be done without a siphon hose by simply pouring water  to raise the duckie teh  difference between the oceans...- however siphoning was more tidy when going from the pacific dishpan to the atlantic--(THERE IS AVARIABLE DIFFERENCE IN HEIGHT SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 3 AND 20 FEET BETWEEN THE TWO OCEANS .)  opening any improvised sluice gate would be beyond flex tape control. besides learnimg to syphon might be a valuable learned  skill-- in case students get  into having aquariums... ( teh syphoning of gas from my childhood days has long been made impossible by putting a kink in the gas line.  darnit.)   there are soooo many  simple things from my days of studying physics that blow kids minds...like if you  have a rock on a string hanging from a TREE - you can stand   with head against the tree and put the rock touching your nose-- just let it go and it will not swing back and NOT  hit you in the face... however if you get someone else to do that and you control letting it go and give it a littel shove-- it will hit someone -- thus proving education is sometimes a valuable thing.....    sometimes. I LOVED TEH STUDY OF FORCES-- AS IN  WHICH DIRECTION TO HAMMER NAILS.  -- AND USE OF ENERGY IN THINGS LIKE DROPPING OF GOLFBALLS TO ENERGISE THOSE  MOVEABLE WORKS OF CREATIVE ART SOMETIMES FOUND IN AIRPORTS MUCH OF THE #$%^& I HAVE AROUND HERE WAS PUT ASIDE FOR WHEN I HAVE TIME....... I THINK I HAVE COME TO-- I WILL NEVER HAVE TIME TO FIND A USE  FOR ALL THE #$%^&*.    TIME FOR A DUMP RUN .  IN THE PROCESS OF CLEARING OUT THIS SHED, I HAVE COME TO 1/2 A TRASH CAN OF ELECTRICAL WIRE ( COPPER)   WHICH I CAN OFFER TO MY FRIENDS AT THE  "TRANSFER STATION"  IN EXCHANGE FOR LETTING ME DUMP STUFF  HIDDENIN THE  MIDDLE OF THE DUMPABLE STUFF.  **** TODAY'S   -- ON CAMERA---EXCITEMENT - SUNDAY  OPEN HOUSE.... JOHN- A NEIGHBOR WHO BUS DRIVES FOR AN ELDERLY HOUSING PPACE-- SAID HE WOLD OIKE TO BRING A BUSLOAD  HERE ON A MISTERY RIDE SOMETIME BETWEEN 1 AND 2 *** IN THE SHOP--- I FOUND A PILE OF BAGS INTO WHICH ONE PLACES SAND--- SEEING AS I ALSO HAVE A PILE OF SAND-- MAYBE I COUDL GET SOME HELPN PUTTIN G THOSE THINGS TOGETHERE...  NOT SOMETHIGN THE BUNCH OF ELDERS WOLD DO-- BUT GIVE ME A BUNCH OF KIDS AND WE CAN HAVE A SANDPILE EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER.  THE REST OF TEH SAND I WILL SPREAD WHERE THE DONKEYS LIKE TO ROLL AND WHERE THE DOGS LIKE TO DIG. *** I FORGOT -- JANINE IS DUE HERE WITH A LOAD OF DONKEYS FROM?? TEXAS?? VIRGINIA?? LOUSIANA??? SOMEWHERE THEY HAVE ALREADY BEEN QUARENTINED...  THEISE ARE FOR  "SATURDAY  JOYCE " WHO JUST MOVED INTO A DONKEY FRIENDLY HOMESTEAD IN NH... PRETTY SOON ALL MY FRIENDS WILL HAVE A GREAT DANE AND 2 DONKEYS AS PETS.

OUR "GOLDIE" ( GHOST OF THE LEFT HAND DRAWER) DOES AMAZING THINGS  EVER SINCE WE LEARNED TO PAY Attention to her....  she did 2 things yesterday... 

 she has taken my glasses from me---  they are usually on my nose- or on my head---  since they are neither,i have had to resort to our bushell basket of odd glasses all you camera people have sent us.  the reason she took them was, i am sure- the fault of teh 2 pieces of  scotch tape  which was holding one of the lens  almost in correct position..  i think i heard her say "i am going to take these things from you so you will go get your eyes examined  and go buy  a pair with 2 lenses" -- i am getting close.....  the pair from the bushell basket is not bad...... but..

the second thing---- having exhausted myself cleaning off only 6 feet of teh shelf in the  10 x 18 foot closet( aka teh  "shop" ).....  i was shocked to see 15 people from the local church standing by our welcome hut looking to me for a job to do as their community service... thank you goldie.... !!

 "i hope you can help me clean out a closet"   was putting it mildly - but 2 hours later teh shop was empty and swept-- and teh 2 picnic tables and 5 "conference " tables  were piled high... looking like a second ( or third) rate gaRAGE SALE---OR AS WHAT USED TO BE CALLED  MORE  APPROPRIATELY -- A RUMMAGE SALE" 

I HAD FIGURED  SINCE TEH  DUMPSTER IS RIGHT THERE, TEH PROCESS WOULD BE EASY.... BUT HAVING SEEN THE QUANTITY OF THE SITUATION, I BACKED UP OUR BIG DUMP TRAILER AND PRAY THAT WILL BE BIG ENOUGH..-

THERE ARE CERTAIN THINGS IN MY FAVOR...  THE COVERED PLASTIC CONTAINERS THAT THE MEAT COMES IN  ALLOW ME TO SORT PRETTY WELL... WHILE I PLAYED "THIS IS YOUR LIFE"  WITH THE HUGE MOUND OF #$%^&*(.

NOT ALL IS #$%^&*.  LIKE THE TRAIN STEAM WHISTLE-- OR MY COLLECTION OF OLD HINDGES..- I AM ASHAMED AT ONE FULL TABLE OF FLUIDS - TEH EXACT  CONTENT YET TO BE  DISCOVERED..  I HAVE ENOUGH PAINT ROLLERS FOR EVERYONE I KNOW TO HAVE ONE IN EACH HAND..  WHICH ONLY GOES TO SHOW THE SUCCESSFUL MARKETING  OF TEH TIDY PAACKAGE OF PAINT TRAY, ROLLERS AND HANDLE- WHICH I MUST HAVE KEPT BUYING WHEN I ONLY NEEDED ROLLERS.  VERY SIMILAR TO MY DRILL BIT FASCINATION.

LET ME EXPLAIN IN DETAIL FOR THOSE WHO DON.T OFTEN DRILL HOLES IN THINGS...   IT IS POSSIBLE TO DRILL A PERFECT HOLE FOR A DOOR KNOB WITH A NORMAL HAND DRILL-  THE "PACIKAGE"  COMES WITH GRADUATED  HOLE CUTTERS FROM ABOUT 1/2 INCH TO DOOR KNOB SIZE-- MAYBE 6 OF THEM- WITH AN ODD SHAPED THING TO HOLD IT IN THE DRILL-- THE WAY IT GOES  IS... YOU USE TEH 1" DRILL TO CUT A HOLE SOMEWHERE...   BUT THE ODDS OF GETTING THAT ODD SHAPED THING BACK TO THE COLLECTION OF HOLE CUTTERS IS  SLIM TO NONE. WHOEVER "THEY" ARE.. KNOW FULL WELL  I WILL NEED TO BUY ANOTHER CENTER THING WHERE AT HOME DEPOT IT IS NEATLY PACKAGED $8.99 FOR TEH CENTER THING  AND $9.99 FOR THE WHOLE KIT -

 THUS EXPLAINETH  ONE PART OF THE DISASTER OF WHAT  IS  THE CONTENTS OF MY SHOP.

THE OTHER PART IS...MY WHOLE PHILOSOPHY OF CONSTRUCTION /REPAIR.... IS TO HIRE SOMEONE TO DO SOMETHING-- AND BECAUSE I AM PAYING THEM, I FIGURE THEY SHOULD PROVIDE MY EDUCATION  AT THE SAME TIME ... SO THAT NEXT TIME I JUST BUY ALL THE EQUIPMENT THEY USE WHICH IS WHAT MAKES IT SO EASY- AND IF I ONLY USE IT ONCE I WILL FINANCIALLY BE AHEAD.

THIS EXPL;AINS TEH $250 CEMENT MIXER I USED TO  GLUE DOWN TEH  "G- TENT"  INSTEAD OF TEH $10,000  A CONTRACTOR WANTED TO PUT IN THE ANCHORS.

OR------ TEH TINY FACT OF KNOWING MOST WALLS ARE 16 INCHES ON CENTER HAS SAVED ME THOUSANDS IN CONSTRUCTION.  I KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES TO "PUT UP A WALL...

i get some of my ideas from  the 4am tv   --  today-- an phd  biologist and  phd archeologist 

 wandering around hawaii found a cave and decided to go deep in the cave to look for the bones of 

 animals  that got in and could not find their way out.  ***  they actually said  that.........

makes me really wonder about phd programs for bio and arch... 

they decided the mountain would eventualy belch causing a sunami that woudl wash over los angeles..

could happen... but it is not on my list  of   "to worry  about  today"

goal of the day is to clear off  another 6' of shelving... in the "shed" 

yesterday.\'s amazing discovry was 11  electric drills on one bench...

( this is why i have my own and keep it in my bed room...)

i knew we had a couple because i awlays had the wrong one with the wrong battery

 turns out someone found a box of them for $10 at a garrtage sale

and then donated them to us. ADDING them carelfully TO  teh sdP collection. 

 so now i have a picnic table fll of  drills, batteries. and chargers

which in itself is  A PERFECT JOB FOR SOMEONE WHO WOULD ENJOY 

THE NICE FRESH AIR AND PLEASENT SCENERY OF THE  T TENT--

 WHILE THEYE SORT OUT THAT MESS.

THE NEXT 6 FOOT OF SHELVING IS... I CAN SEE NOW..... COVERED WITH MORE SAWS

 AND TYOPES OF SAWS THAN  I EVER PURCHASED...--

TALK ABOUT HAVING YOUR DOG OR CAT SPAyed so they don't reproduce...    

  what qm i to do when my  lovely  small - lightweight   plug in  dremel  saw 

blessed me with a litter--- she must have tangled with the  neighbors table saw

 because i now haVE  TOO MAnY SABRE SAWS, JIG SAws,  a chop saw and 2skill saws

many of which  are battery run  and have been co-mingleong with the  collection of drills.

they came with  their own collection of "drill bits to dull to use." 

 (very closely related to the old lady's  box in teh attid labeled " pieces of string too short to use" )

it will be a rough ( aNd dirty ) day-  with the first 6' table, i haqve estaBLISHED   DISTINCT "BINS" OF 

HARDWARE, HEAVY IRON HARDWARE, AND GALVANIZED "STUFF" - 

 SOMEONE MUST HAVE ACCUSED ME OF BECOMING  "UNHINGED" 

  BECAUSE I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN HIHNGES OFF WHATEVER I WAS ABOUT TO BURN- OR THROW AWAY

SO I HAVE  SOME NICE "HEAVY IRON HINGES"-- VERY ANTIQUE LOOKING... 

I DON'T KNOW WHY I HAVE 14 NORMAL HOUSEHOLD HINGES-- BRAND NEW== WITH SCREWS EVEN...

I AM VERY PROUD OF MYSELF TO EVEN KNOW WHAT THESE THINGS ARE-

 there has to be an expert in every field-- -- lets face it.... my children's tuition was paid for by my  ability to address the processing  of  various animal poo-- most noteably the hundreds of "mouse" droppings produced inteh production of the  introduction of  teh computer mouse--- that is how old i am--- i was animal episodes before there was such a thing as a mouse.. i was into computers for satelite tracking when we carried around trays of computer cards ( OF HANGING CHAD TYPE)--so to introduce mouses to the general public, many ads were made  both tv and print.....    that  was me !   as animal episodes....  WITH THAT NET  "UMBRELLA" THAT WAS MADE TO KEEP FLYS OFF THE BBQ ,  A ROLL OF TOILET PAPER, AND A MOUSE PURCHASED AT TEH PET STORE FOR $1.59  I WOULD GO TO BOSTON STUDIOS , PUT THE MOUSE IN PLACE-- KEEP IT THERE WITH THE BBQ NET TIL THE PHOTOGRAPHER GOT FOCUSED - LIFT A-- CLICK-- AND LOWER THE NET- PICK UP not only  a tiny piece ofr brown looking rice with the toilet paper  but also  A CHECK FOR $150.00 AND GO HOME AND TURN TEH MOUSE LOOSE AROUND HERE.

i know things..... like it takes 35 pounds of kitty litter per cow... per hour.. to have a cow  on any hard surface... either studio floor or  concrete outdoor  market..

SO NAurally when janine's friend wanted to take her mini horses into nursing homes with a huge pitchfork and muck bucket,, i had to call a halt- i never had mini horaea but i did more things with my mini donkeys than ANYONE WOULD EVER SUSPECT- AND WE ALWAYS CARRIED A SMALL STAINLESS STEEL BUCKET WITH CARROTS FLOPPING OUT THETOP-- IF A TAIL WENT UP- I'D DUMP THE CARROTS ON THE FLOOR  AND CATCH  WHATEVER CAME OUT. WORKED WELL FOR M AAny many jobs in many many buildings/ studios/ homes...

in a  effort to help her operation--- i wanted to find a more suitable bucket. and stainless that i used is now more like $50.  

 If....   all that glitters is not gold... all that is shiney is not stainless steel-- finally i thought of home depot-s tin paint buckets-- perfect size- will hold up teh carrots for visablity..

 and-- with a small fry pan ( 5" diameter-- yet to locate)  her presentation will be alot more presentable. and judy is going with her at 1:oo today...

i think zena is what you might call a facility dog-- she works the courthouse- apparently doing a wonderful job.

Hi Linda! she is  doing amazing! my family has really enjoyed taking her with us wherever we go. she loves the beach. at work she is a rock star. people come to the office  and ask for her, judges come off the bench to pat her. she runs the courthouse. she makes her rounds greeting people and getting a treat. people stop us on the street. she seems to know when people need her.... victims and defendants.  she has changed this place, and my heart for the better.
