so i was 11 hours 59 minutes late with yesterdays dd-- i got sidetracked-  i wrote it and mailoed it to  myself aS I DO JUST IN CASE IT  SCREWS UP , I HAVE SOMEWHERE FROM WHICH I MIGHT COPY AND PASTE..  SOMETHIGN MUST HAVE HAPPENED AT THAT POINT AND I FORGOT TO PROPERLY POST AND SEND... CAN'T WIN HTEM ALL... I WAS "WORKING" -- I HAD TO SIT AND GUARD THE LAST 1/2 OF THE WALLS IN THAT BARN- AND A GOOD THING I DID...  AS OF LAST NIGHT THEY  WERE GOPING TO NAIL THE BARNS SHUT-- PARTY IS OVER UNLESS I GET HOLD OF " THE GUY IN THE WHITE TRUCK"  FOR ANYTHING SPECCIAL...  LIKE THOSE DOORS....   THIS COUDL BE A VERY LONG DD WITH  2 BASIUC CONCEPTS "IS COLLEGE A WISE ECONOMIC CHIOCE?" AND "WHAT DETERMINES THE PRICE OF LUMBER"   SHOULD BE VERY UNINTERESTING  TO 99% OF HUMANS ( AND POSSIBLEY NOT 100% CORRECT) **** COLLEGE.... I HAD THE TOOLS... ALL I NEEDED WAS A COUPLE STRONG BODIES--- I DID NOT GO TO HOME DEPOT AT 6 AM AND HIRE  WHOEVER IS STANDING THERE  WITH OR WITHOUT THEIR GREEN CARDS....AND I ASKED "AROUND" -- THE ONLY ONE I COULD FIND WHO COULD TAKE DOWNTHOSE STALLS AND LOAD THEM FOR ME WAS AT JANINE'S  CUTTING DOWNT BRUSH AND TREES-- CRITICAL PART.... HE IS FROM RHODE ISLAND    HE IS $40 PER HOUR AND HAS MORE WORK THAN HE CAN POSSIBLY HANDLE- INSTEAD OF COLLEGE,   HE DID AN INTERNSHIP WITH ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING AND NOW HAS A BUNCH OF PHD 'S WORKING FOR  HIM FOR $25 / HOUR- HE JUST GETS THAT CREW GOING AND GOES ON TO THE NEXT...  IN MY CASE HE LEFT 2  DIGGING POST HOLES AND CAME OVER  WITH ANOTEHR AND TOOK DOWN THE 6 WALLS IN RECORD TIME.  SO FOR $240  I THINK I HAVE $1500 WORTH OF LUMBER THAT I NEED-- I NEED ONLY IF I MAKE A DECIENT  "RUN IN SHED " OF THAT TANNERS BUILDING. AND MR. RHODE ISLAND.... SITTING THERE DRINKING COFFEE ON HIS PHONE IN HIS NEW TRUCK WAS LINING UP  MORE JOBS IN THIS  AREA MAKING  OVER $200 PER HOUR THAT I KNEW OF BECAUSE OF ALL THESE COLLEGE GRADS THAT WERE HAPPY TO HAVE A JOB AT ALL. HIS COMMETITION AROUND HERE IS A LOCAL GUY WHO CHARGES $95 AN HOUR AND  IS NOT CAPABLE  OF MUCH MORE THAN CHANGING LIGHT BULBS. THIS GUY HAS SOME EQUIPMENT  BUT RENTS TEH REST FROM HOME DEPOT.  SO NOW......---  I HAVE 2 STALL DOORS TO  EXPIREMENT WITH AND MAYBE MAKE INTO THOSE LITTLE DOGGIE DOOR "RAIN PROTECTORS"  THAT ARE  ON EACH KENNEL--- I WILL TRY THOSE TODAY.... *** SO WHAT IS IT WORTH? THIS COMES FROM MY LONG AGO MEMORY-- LUMBER IS BASICALLY SOLD BY THE BOARD FOOT-  THAT IS A 1" THICK piece of wood  ONE FOOT SQUARE---JUST TO GET GOING... A 1 INCH" BOARD"   STARTS OUT-- ROUGH SAWED--  ONE INCH.. AND THEN THEY  PLANE IT  SMOOTH-- SO IT IS NOW 3/4 INCH THICK-- THIS IS WHY A  2 X 4 IS REAlly 1.5 x 3.5 inches thick. CALCULATOR READY?? FOR THIS SOUTHERN YELLOW PINE........TOUGH WOOD.... HOME DEPOT HAS A 2 X 4 BY 4 FEET LONG FOR $4.06 SO A 2 X 4 X 12 WOULD BE  $12.18 BUT..... THESE ARE  2 X 6"   OR 1/2 AGAIN AS BIG AS THE 2 X 4'S    SO ADDING $6 THESE 12 FOOTERS ARE CLOSE TO $20 EACH  EACH WALL WAS ABOUT 7 FEET TALL  OR  84 INCHES DIVIDED BY TEH 5.5 BOARD IS 15 BOARDS PER WALL-- AT $20 EACH IS $300??? NOW  6 WALLS GETS SERIOUS... $$$$$ AND WE DID BOTH SIDES THE BARN....  12 WALLS???? THEY MAY HAVE LEFT A BOARD OR TWO THAT WAS BROKEN-- OR THE BOTTOM BOARD MESSY.. I FORGOT  TO POST THE DD BUT WE HAVE AN EXPENSIVE PILE OF LUMBER.... AND WE HAVE 2 DOORS... I NEVER WOULD HAE BUILT THEM-- BUT BEING FREEEEEEE.......  I THINK THEY ARE  TEH SAME SYP  AND LINED WIT 1/2 INCH PLYWOOD... PROBABLY 4' X 4'  CAPPED WITH METAL( FOR NO CHEW)-- BIG HEAVY HINGE.... IF I CAN GET THEM INTO  A TRIANGLE- THEY WOULD BE INTERESTING  AND EFFECTIFVE RELLACEMET FOR TH E LITTLE DOOGIE HOUSES THAT KEEP THE RAIN/ SNOW FROM FALLING OFF THE ROOF  ON THE DOGS INHIBITING THEM FROM GOING OUT TO PEE IF IT IS RAINING.  THERE ARE A BUNCH-- FREE FOR THE TAKING. THAT IS TODAY'S JOB. AND REMEMBERING TO POST THIS CORRECTLY..

WHO KNEW GETTING TO A BOARD MEETING COULD BE DANGEROUS TO MY HEALTH?? GOING UP THE STEPS TO THE GUEST HOUSE FOR THE MEETING ,  I MISSED THE LAST STEP- NOT PROPERLY CALCULATIMNG MY EVER CHANGING CENTER OF GRAVITY,,, I GRABBED FOR TEH VERTICAL 

STABALIZER ( THE PURPLE ROPE) WHICH HANGS JUST OUTSIDE THE DOOR..

 IF I AM GOING TO FALL DOWN AND BREAK SOMETHING, WHY CAN'T  IT BE DOING SOMETHING LIKE RIDING A SEGWAY ..... WHICH EVERYONE TELLS ME I MUST NOT do/BUY.....  I TELL YOU ... IT IS GOING TO BE A VERY DIFFICULT SPRING OF 2019 IF I DON'T GET TO RIDE AROUND ON A SEGWAY.

I AM NOT A VOTING MEMBER OF THIS BOARD- SO THE FACT THAT  MY HEARING AID BATTERY MADE IT'S CHEERFFUL "BING, CHURP, BING"  TELLING ME I HAD 5 SECONDS TO REPLACE TEH BATTERY- I FIGURED IT MUST HAVE BEEN GOLDIE TELLING ME I DIDN'T NEED TO HEAR WHAT  WAS BEING DISCUSSED.... THINGS LIKE LAWS AND ACCOUNTANTS- THINGS THAT HAVE MOVED INTO MY WORLD AS WE HAVE GOT BIGGER- LIFE WAS ALOT SIMPLER BEFORE TEH ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE STARTED MAKING DEMANDS.

I REMEMBER... THE GOOD OLD DAYS.. WHEN I STARTED TO THINK OF CHICKENS AND SHATTING- AT THE START I USED THE WORD "BINGO"  -- THAT APPARENTLY IS A WORD ( along with " raffle" ) THAT BRINGS THE AG'S OFF ICE INTO PLAY-- BEFORE I COULD PLAY WITH CHICKENS I HAD TO GET A PERMIT FROM THE AG'S OFFICE..  TO DO THAT I HAD TO HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS ( IN THIER RECORDS) FOR MORE THAN 4 YEARS...  I  WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE THAT IT MEANT IT WOULD BE 4 YEARS BEFORE I COUDL GET A "BINGO" PERMIT-- SO I TOOK MY DOG... THUMPER.. TO THE AG'S OFFICE TO SEE IF I COULD GET AROUND  THIS--  THEY WERE SOOOOO NICE... LOVED THUMPER.. SAID NO -- YOU JUST HAVE TO FILL OUT THE YEARLY PAPERS FOR 5 YEARS- AND PAY $15 FOR EACH YEAR  ( IN INDIVIDUAL CHECKS)

I REMEMBER SITTING THERE FOR HOURS FILLING OUT THE FORM 5 TIMES AND WRITING 5 CHE3CKS FOR $15  -- signing my name over 100 times....AND  PRESTO CHANGO... I HAD THE  ACCOUNT NUMBER THAT MEANT I COULD PAY ANOTHER $10  FOR A PERMIT TO  HOLD CHICKEN BINGO...  IT WAS LATER POINTED OUT TO ME THAT  THIS WAS NOT A TRUE BINGO OPERATION, BUT RAther a fundraiser SO WE CHANGED THE DETAILS  AND DID NOT HAVE TO GET A PERMIT FOR FUNDRAISING.

DON'T YOU LOVE IT???    WE STILL NEED TO PAY$15 PER YEAR TO BE A BUSINESS OR SOMETHIGN.. BUT THAT IS DIFFERENT.

SO Back to the board meeting which i was hearing about 43% of....mark and george seemed to talk alot about something.. while gwen took notes from north carloina with her phone sitting on my "apple"---   i reeally had little to nothing to say.---  at least no one said "the trouble with you is......"-- and they quietly ignored me.

" they "being... early sandy....denmark anne.... calendar kitty... joyce...janine...mark ..and george..  grommet was there too.. and he didn't get a vote either.

so.. fyi-----. let me tell you about "apples" 

  in the movie business there is a thing... it is an "apple"   which is a verty strong wooden  box.. of very specific dimentions -- used to prop up props or whatevr on a movie set.,..

there is also a 1/2 apple --- 1/4 apple--- and a pancake-- all made the same way - so on the set you will hear things like "get me a quarter apple"   and some guy will run to the gaffers truck and come back with a nicely finished wooden box -- about 1' x 2' x 3"

just in case any of you want to get in the movie business-- you can google apple box video--- and they guy will show you all about them.. and which actors had to stand on them to be taller.

THE ONLY REASON I  CAN SO EXPERTLY PUT OUT THESEE FYI's   

IS THAT I KNOW SLIGHTLY MORE THAN SOMEONE WHO KNOWS NOTHING.

this project  is a perfect example.

janine - being a well raised child, knows a bargain when she sees one--- i could not believe what she found...- "flying horse stable" - one of the nicest in new england, is in shambles and will be torn down-- they just moved the horses all out this past week- THISW WAS A PICTURE PERFECT STABLE 

janine having the rescue charity- has got permission to take whatever you want quickly - and she knows SOUTHERN YELLOW PINE  when she sees it...

I KNOW HOW THESE THIGS WORK... SO 

i hooked my full  dump trailer on and took a quick trip to the "transferr station-- FYI    that is a dump where they will take anything except tv's-  it is a concrete 3 sided place where you dump and they mush with a huge loader and pack a big trailer to take the trash to ?maine??? k iknow of 2 around here-- georgetown and peabody  you weigh your vehicle in and weigh out- and pay by the pound what you have left behind-- this was the least $$ trip i nhave made  $37 --- my usual  pile of crapola is $120- this time it was all teh pieces of fencing--  light weight-- but big volume-- ( the dumpster is used for heavty stuff because that is charged for by volume)-

 with empty trailer and judy  we flew to this barn to meet with janine.

we are talking about several barns with total of  150 stalls? not only stalls , but stall doors, hinges,  frost free water spickets-- eye hooks and double ended snaps-- you know --- real stuff that every barn is made ofl. and mats-- 1/2 inch rubber floor mats- that we have some scroungy oneS in the alley way

i have never bbeen able to afford teh proper ones.. an here are 1000's for free.. problem is .. i can not pick even one up

janine said she has a "couple guys" and megan has found me one-

so the plan is-- at the moment-  take teh empty trailer and leave  it ... let these guys fill it with mats ( 2 guys can picik up one matt) while i address the second problem of analyzing  all these screwed together walls of southren yellow pine...

these stalls are 12 x 12   so teh walls between stalls are one long 12'  2x8  tongue in groove-  nailed/screwed at both ends... well everything i build is on the 4 x 8 ' plywood size-- so insgtead of unscrewing all those ends, i have in mind sawing them off  which shojuld be quick and harvest a useable  8' board.

except the electricity is shut off--

i do have 2 big ( old) generators--bud has dealt with keeping them up to parr... but we need to move quickly - so i think i bertter rent one already gassed up and primed...  home depot rents them-- and buy 2 or 3   sawsalls go back drop off teh sawsalls nd take the trailer home  and dump it  then run baCK WITH IT  TO START TAKING BOARDS-- AS MANY AS WE CAN BEFOR EHT DEMO CROUD ARRIVES.

THE NEED IS GREAT

NOT ONLY OUR "BACK BARN... TANNERS SHED" AND JANINE'S LOVELY BUT WEAK GARAGE/DONKEY BARN, BUT  JOYCE IS BUYING A PLACE WITHA SAGGING BARN TODAY-- AND  XXXXX ALREADY HAS MOVED INTO A BARN IN NEED OF REPAIR--- SO IN THE SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY OF CP'S WHO OWN BARNS... I FEEL I MUST DO THIS EFFICIENTLY AS POSSIBLE.

ALL BEFOR 2PM WHEN SOMEONE NEEDS TO SIT ON THE WHITE DONKEY -- WHO WILL BE 100% ANESTHESIZED--- WHILE BRIAN  TRIES TO PUT HER HIP BACK IN HER SOCKET

Just a quick update on Andrew. He has had a pretty uneventful year. He is still doing an amazing job with me going to the VA and no medical issues. We have gotten nigerian dwarf goats this pass spring and he truly loves them and this is our second year with rabbits, chickens and ducks. He is so gentle around them. He is truly a god send. I still suffer from numerous illnesses and injuries that I sustained during combat and he is right there with me always. My life would not be this good without him.

OH I KNOW SDP NEEDS   A REAL  ACCOUNTANT,ADI, A BOARD OF DIRECTORS THE  IRS, 501 C3 RATING  JUST LIKE WE NEED CARS , INSURANCE, MOTOR VEHICLE BUREAU, EASY PASS PERMITS, DRIVERS LICENSES- AND A HEFTY CHECKING ACCOUNT TO PAY FOR THE REEMS OF PAPER THAT ARE REQUIRED FOR  MAINTAINING ALL THOSE THINGS.. 

 THAT DOES NOT SAY I HAVE TO LIKE IT.

TAKE SDP ACCOUNTANT-- LOVELY MAN- AND VERY BRAVE TO TAKE US ON...  THE OTHER THING IS ---HE IS DEAD HONEST AND ACCURATE...... BUT SINCE I HAVE BEEN KNOW TO HAVE AN ACCURATE PROBLEM  IT IS SOMETIMES NECESARY TO SLIDE OFF THE DEAD HONEST PAGE TO GET THINGS TO COME OUT RIGHT. WHEN WE DID NOT  HAVE THE  BUDGET WE NOW HAVE, I FIGURED IT DIDN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF $1000 GOT SPENT ON   DOG FENCING OR WORMING MEDICATION --- I CALL THAT CONVENIENT HONESTY--IT GOT SPENT ON THE DOGS.  EXCEPT NOW --- BLESS COMPUTERS---  I HAVE TO BE CAREFUL THAT  THIS CLOUD IS PROGRAMMED TO FIGURE OUT HOW MUCH WORMING MED I SHOULD BE BUYING AS REALTERD TO THE POUNDS OF DOG FOOD WE FEED... 

 WHEN I RAN ANIMAL EPOISODES.....SOME KID COMES BY AND CHASES PIGEONS FOR 6 HOURS -- I WRITE A CHECK AND LABEL IT "BOUGHT DESK"   HEAVEN HELP ME IF THEY EVER COUNT THE NUMBER OF DESKS I  AM SUPPOSED TO HAVE BOUGHT.

WELL THAT PARTY IS OVERWITH.  APPARENTLY THE IRS  DOES NOT LIKE "WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?"

SEEEEE..... IN MY PERSONAL FUNDS....... I HAVE THIS 6"LONG NAIL/SPIKE ONTO WHICH I SHOVE ALL MY RECIEPTS- WHICH IN THEORY KEEPS THEM IN CRONOLIGICAL ORDER-- HOWEVERR THERE  ARE TIMES WHEN COFFEE, DOG SLOBBER OR GENERIC CAR FLOOR CRAP OBLITERATES  NAUGHTY THINGS LIKE DATES..

TEHRE ARE TIMES WHEN I CAN COME UP WITH BRILLIANT IDEAS, UNFORTUANTELY MOST HAVE TO DO WITH DUCT TAPE- AND THEY DON'T COME UP NEARLY OFTEN ENOUGH.

SDP DOES RELY ON TEHE SHATUPON SOCIETY BIG TIME... IT ALSO RELYS ON CP'S FOR SUGGESTIONS  --

W/R/T TEH SHATTING..... SOMEONE SUGGESTED IF WE SLID THE WHITE CANVAS ONTO THE TABLES WHILE PUTTING ON THE NUMBERS IT WOULD SAVE ANYONE STRETCHING  TO THE MIDDLE OR CLIMBING ON THE WOBBLY TABLES.... IF IT IS EVER UP TO ME . I WILL REMEMBER TO DO THAT...

HOWEVER TEH PLACING OF TEH  NUMBERS IS A WILDLY SOCIAL EVENT OFTEN LACED WITH  OBTUSE COMMENTS-- AS TEH YOUNGER MORE NIMBLE CROWD CLIMB AND STRETCH..

WE MAY HAVE DISCOVERED A SHATTING  TRICK.  I TOOK THE FIRST HEN OUT OF THE CAGE  AND SAT HER ON THE TABLE...  SHE DID NOT FLUTTER OFF AS I EXPECTED SO I PICKED HER UP AND GAVE HER AN EASY TOSS TO THE CENTER AREA- WHERE SHE FLUTTERED FOR 3 SECONDS, TURNED  AND CHOSE THE WINNER IN A NICE NEAT BLOB RIGHT ON A NUMBER. I HAD NOT EVEN REACHED FOR THE SECOND HEN.....

YOU KNOW HOW PENNICILLIN WAS INVENTED BY ACCIDENT-- I DON'T KNOW WHAT I MAY HAVE INVENTED-- IT CERTAINLY NEEDS MORE EXPIRIMENTATION  BUT I MAY BE ON TO SOMETHING.

IMMEDIATELY THEY WHIPPED OUT THEIR PHONES "HOW TO START A FIRE"   JUST AS MEATY STEVE WALKED BY... HE SAID " I CAN TELL YOU HOW TO START A FIRE-- YOU TAKE THE EMPTY ROLL OF TOILET TISSUE AND FILL IT WITH DRYER LINT AND LIGHT IT-"

 THAT IS WHY TO THIS DAY-- MANY OF THE BOXES WE GET OF DOG COOKIES,  FLUFFLIES, COINS FOR TEH JUG, HAZELNUTS FOR PAM... THERE TUCKED AWAY AT THE BOTTOM ARE A FEW TOILET ROLLS PACKED WITH GREY DRYER LINT.--- WHICH WE DO USE !!

HOWEVER-- THE OBJECT HERE IS - THERE ARE TIMES.... MANY TIMES,  WHERE IT PAYS T JUST STAND AROUND AND THINK ... UNENCUMBERED BY  THE INTERNET OR ANY EXTERNAL SOURCES.

I THINK OUR CHILDREN HAVE TOTALLY LOST THAT CONCEPT,  IT IS UPSETTING.

SHE WENT TO A BED & BREAKFAST FOR A FEW NIGHTS AND IMPRESSED THE GUESTS WITH HER PERFECT MANNERS (“SHE IS SO GOOD THAT I FORGOT SHE WAS THERE,” SAID A WOMAN AS I ASKED SEAGRAM TO HELP ME UP AFTER OUR COMMUNAL BREAKFAST.) THEN WE RELOCATED TO A HOTEL AND SHE REMAINED SO WELL-BEHAVED THROUGH ALL THIS TRAVEL.

RUMOR Has it that santa will be here at sometime....  we have teh worlds greatest santa- even in a business suit he is santa-- so put on the  red, and he  is spectacular.

todays FYI  dremel nail trimming... dremel puts out some wonderful "household size" electrical tools which might not work if you were building a house.... but for "normal" things.. and crafts...   dremmel tools are very usweful.

... particularly the drill with the sandpaper "bit" thing-- it works wonderfully for  trimming a dogs nails so you dont get into the quik/bloody part.  everything works beautifully UNLESS........ you have long hair and it gets involved with the sandpaper bit and winds itself up while winding your finger onto the  "ON" button which pulls it right up your long hair into your scalp. this happened to one of our recdipients who ended up with a significant scar in her head,  this is one reason i say around here,,, if your hair is longer than hitting your shoulders, it must be tied  back in an elastic- 

that drill thing is about 6" long and very light.. one hand type light....-- it does drill holes and polish things.. the other dremmel i like is teh saw- a bit heavier but still can be used in one hand.  which will cut  wood,plywood,plastic and even metal  with a variety of blades ??? maybe 3 inch diameter---like the rim of a coffee cup size.

a couple comments were made about cost cutting and eliminating the donkeys--    i certainly want everyone to know ... the donkey expenses are totally my personal  expense.. i do have my own personal fun fund.... . i like donkeys--- and there are several  volunteer people who are donkey specific- and learning to care for donks so they can have their own...

one of the big things i like about donkeys is-- they are soooo easy to care for..   those 8 donkeys that janine ha dropped off here  have been living the life of riley- and all we did was to put 2 bales of hay in thier feeder and filled a couple water tubs-and they will be good for a week. i drive by in my heated car to check on them.

"they" being the healthy fat ones.  

there is the one white donkey-- terribly thin-- not "sound" very sweet and not old..-i like her... so i called brian (dvm) to give his o\professional opinion-- which is -- she has a dislocated hip- and it has been dislocated for years- she gets around but is probably thin due to the others pushing her away from food source.. we talked about her  and her hip, for a long time.   in any normal situation she probably would be put down - or sold to the "killers" 

 which is how i got her in the first place. 

she is comfortaBLE NOW-- EATING HAY -GRAIN-- OUT OF ONE OF MY FEED BAGS ( THE OTHERS DON'T NEED ANY GRAIN)  AND MANAGE TO SNEAK 3 POUNDS OF CARROTS OFF THE SHELF- SHE IS/WAS YESTERDAY.. WEARING 2 FLUFFIES TO CUT THE WIND SINCE SHE HAS NO FAT ON HER BONES...

BRIAN IS A BRIGHT GUY... AND  VERY STRONG-- SO ... THE PLAN- WHICH IS A VERY LONG SHOT.... IS FOR HIM TO BRING HIS CREW AND XRAY EQUIPMENT  OVER NEXT WED OR THURSDAY AND UNDER FULL ANESTHESIA TRY AND "POP" THE HIP BACK INTO THE SOCKET.-- HE HAS DONE THIS TWICE BEFORE-- BOTH TIMES  IN VET SCHOOL-- AND BRIAN IS NO LONGER YOUNG... SO IT HAS BEEN A WHILE.  BUT HE IS GAME TO TRY. HE MADE SOME COMMENT ABOUT ... "UNLESS IT IS FRACTURED WE WILL PROBABLY NOT MAKE IT WORSE."   IF IT IS FRACTURED WE WILL JUST NOT WAKE HER UP AND LET HER SLEEP AWAY.

SO THAT IS WHAt is going on...  rest assured  it is coming out of my personal fun fund.  if we can make her comfortable, it would be "educational" to see how normal good horsemanship can bring a wreck back to thriving.

we have to be prepared to fail in order to try.  so everybody ... get ready..

Today Eve went to donate a few toys for the a Children’s Hospital Toy Drive at Farm and Fleet. She went to give and ended up feeling spoiled and the one to receive instead.  

Sportsradio 105.7FM The FAN with the broadcasters from The Big Show were  set up outside and they had guest appearances from Gary Ellerson and LeRoy Butler!! Both former Green Bay Packer players. LeRoy Butler was a defensive player who made a touchdown and executed the very first Lambeau Leap! We waited around a bit hoping to get just a picture with those guys. While we waited we a children’s book author @Brenda E Cortez author of the HOWL the Owl books (I took their picture with her phone and forgot to get one with my phone!) she also gave Eve her book and a HOWL stuffy. Then LeRoy Butler came out to meet Eve!! Not only that but gave her a signed jersey (just her size!), an autographed copy of his book and signed her braces! He told her all about when he used to wear braces just like hers! What a truly nice guy. He seemed very genuine and kind! We also got to meet & took pics with the guys from The Big Show and Gary Ellerson. I’m not sure if he had a bigger impact on Lance and I or Eve?? None the less she immediately started reading his book! Of course everyone wanted to know about Finn so we got to brag about how our amazing SDP donated him to her and all their recipients!!

SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE! THAT IS THESE 2 SNUGGLING IN BED. ONE PICTURE FROM THE OTHER DAY AND ONE FROM 2 YEARS AGO. 

ALL IN ALL BELLA HAS BEEN DOING PRETTY GOOD. TUESDAY’S SEEM TO BE A REALLY HARD DAY FOR HER WHEN SHE COMES HOME FROM SCHOOL AND WANTS TO NAP. WE THINK IT’S BECAUSE HER INFUSION IS WEARING OFF BY THEN AND SHE IS JUST TIRED. SHE WILL SEE GENETICS IN A COUPLE WEEKS AND MAYBE SHE IS DUE FOR ANOTHER DOSE INCREASE. 

BELLA IS ALSO HAVING A LOT OF HIP PAIN. THE LAST COUPLE DAYS SHE HAS BEEN COMPLAINING OF THE PAIN SHOOTING DOWN HER LEG. SHE HAS AN APPOINTMENT WITH HER HIP DR NEXT FRIDAY (HOPEFULLY HE WON’T BE AFRAID OF GEORGE THIS TIME) AND THEN THE FOLLOWING THURSDAY SHE SEES DR KARLIN ABOUT HER BACK. SO HOPEFULLY WE CAN FIGURE OUT THE SHOOTING PAIN AND THE REGULAR HIP PAIN. MONDAY’S BELLA HAS BEEN HAVING PT AND DOING GREAT. SORRY ABOUT REALLY SLACKING WITH POSTS BUT BY THE END OF THE DAY I AM SO TIRED. SORRY FRIENDS. WE DO TRULY APPRECIATE ALL YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT OVER THE YEARS. IT MEANS MORE THAN I CAN EVEN EXPRESS. THERE IS OUR "MISSION" OF  DONATING SERVICE DOGS--   THE COMMUNITY WITH DAILY DOGGIE AND MAIL CALL, ----AND THEN .THE "ROAD TRIPS" 

REPORTING 

 THE ROAD TRIP- THIS IS WHERE WE ( JUDY MARA AND I) TAKE BENTLEY SIZZLE AND ANYTHING ELSE LOGICAL TO ASSISTED LIVING, NURSING HOMES, COLLEGES, SCHOOLS OR WHATEVER.-- WE WERE VERY INFORMAL ABOUT DROPPING IN THESE PLACES- AND THEY LOVED US- THE POOR PEOPLE IN THESE "HOMES"  HAVE LITTLE ENTERTAinment- so we are very welcome--  the problem was... we did not blow our own horn with cummings- who like local involvement.  i felt we lost the last grant because we were talking about nationwide promotion of danes as serv ice dogs...  notes from cummings said as much.. so i have redone the process and started keeping exact track of who and  where- before holidays we were trying for 2 or 3 a week to bolster up this spread sheet for presentation to cummings.. in hopes of more grants.

there are not really any direct expenses to the road trip- i own the car and , the dogs, and judy and mara are volunteers.

thank heavens teh chicken bricks  have sold out again...

this continued interest is held together by the explore cameras and mail call...

theRE ARE NO EXACT  EXPENSES ON SDP FOR THOSE CAMERAS ( THEY HAVE  GIVEN  US 150K/YEAR- WE DO NOT APPLY FOR IT-IT IS AT THEIR OPTION-- THEY DO LIKE THE ATTENTION OUR PUPS AND GENERAL ACTIVITY   GET,) OUR NUMBERS THERE GROW SLOWLY- WITH 500 TO 700 WATCHING MAIL CALL MOST NIGHTS -OR   1400- DURING WHELPING. 

WHICH BRINGS US TO SERVICE DOGS- OUR PRIMARY MISSION.  THE DOGS ARE PERFECT-- NOT A PROBLEM THERE....

IN PULLING NUMBERS TOGETHER FOR GRANT WRITING,  OUR BALLOONING TOTAL BUDGET IS NOT REFLECTED IN THE  OUTCOME.

I DO THINK THE TOTAL BOARD HAS THE RIGHT TO QUESTION THAT- AND I - THO NOT A VOTING MEMBER OF THE BOARD...  HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO  OUR DONATING SUPPORTERS  TO TRY AND FIGURE THAT OUT. 

I IGNORED IT FOR A WHILE- MICROMANAGING IS NOT MY STYLE-- AND IMPOSSIBLE TO DO AROUND HERE  WHERE INSTANTANEOUS REACTIONS TO ANIMALS AND SITUATIONS  ON THE FARM CAN NOT POSSIBLY BE ANTICIPATED AND _"MANAGED"  -  ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO  I REALIZED WE WERE  RACING OFF THE PROVERBIAL CLIFF AND STARTED TO REALLY STUDY PARTS OF OUR OPERATION.

 FOR EXAMPLE....MY FIRST BATTLE.....-   KEEPING THE KITCHEN FLOOR STEAM CLEANED IS WONDERFUL  BUT NOT IF THAT MEANS YOU PUT PUPPIES  "OUT OF THE WAY"-  OUR PRIMARY IS  THE PUPPIES-  THERE  SHOULD BE NO "OUT OF THE WAY"  ----YOU GIVE TTHEM ATTENTION -- SPOON FEED, PLAY WITH THEM - AND WHEN THEY NAP, YOU WASH THE FLOOR.

OUR CONCEPT OF THE PERFECTLY RUN KENNEL ORGANIZATION AND THE KEEPING OF RECORDS DEMANDED BY OUR BEING ACCREDITED BY THE ASSISTANCE DOGS INTERNATIONAL HAS -- IN MY OPINION- OVER SHADOWED THE EXACT ATTENTION  TO THE DETAILS TO  THE DOG.

THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE AN ANSWER TO THE MAJOR PROBLEM FACING SDP. BUT IT CERTAINLY SHOULD BE ON THE MINDS OF ANYONE WHO GETS A PAYCHECK FROM SDP.

I STAND BY THAT STATEMENT.

 BETWEEN  MY SOMEWHAT OBTUSE  ARGUEMENTIVE NATURE AND CHOICE OF WORDS- NONE OF WHICH I DENY,  THE ENTIRE TOPIC HAS BEEN CENTERED AROUND  PERSONALITIES AND EXTREMELY MINOR DETAILS.  

I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO HAVE SUGGESTIONS...  ON PAPER.. AS TO OPERATIONAL IMPROVEMENTS WHICH I WILL READ  BEFORE THE FULL BOARD NEXT WEEK.
