TEMPUS FIDGITS-- OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT...FALL FELL-- AND I HAVE CHANGED MY UNIFORM FROM TEE SHIRTS AND JEANS--- TO TURTLENECKS AND JEANS..- THE JEANS ARE INTENTIONALLY TIGHT TO HELP AS A BACK SUPPORT.. WHICH IS WHY IT IS NECESSARY FOR ME TO EAT ALL THAT CHEESECAKE- -- I PROBABLY WOULDN'T NEED THE BACK SUPPORT IF I'D STOP EATING CHEESE...CAKE
THE SELF PERPETUATING LOGIC IS SIMILAR TO BUYING ANOTHER SKILL SAW BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT LOCATE THE ONE- OR TWO-- YOU ALREADY OWN.
MY THEORY OF HANDYMANNING IS-- ALL THAT CARPENTRY STUFF IS NOT "MAN'S WORK" IF YOU HAVE THE EQUIPMENT MEN USE... SAWS AND DRILLS ARE NOT ANYMORE DIFFICULT THAN AN ELECTRIC SEWING MACHINE.--- AND MUCH MORE FUN.
OLD STORY MAYBE-- BUT--.. IN LYNNFIELD- THE SUBURB OF BOSTON WHERE IF YOU DID NOT CUT YOUR LAWN WHEN YOUR NEIGHBORS DID SO IT LOOKED "RIGHT"-- YOU WOULD BE THROWN OUT OF TOWN...SEEING AS I CUT MY LAWN EVERY AUGUST JUST BEFORE THE KIDS PUT ON THAT CIRCUS, I WAS THROWN OUT OF TOWN....1978ISH...
BEFORE I LEFT, I BUILT A ONE CAR GARAGE SORT OF THING FOR A MAGAZINE SHED.. AND ONE STALL TO HOUSE A VERY SICK PONY I DID NOT MEAN TO BUY- ( ANOTHER STORY) - BEING 100% NEW-- I BOUGHT A PILE OF 2X4'S, SOME VERY THIN PLYWOOD AND WENT TO GET A BUILDING PERMIT- I TRIED TO BE LEGAL SEEING AS I WAS ALREADY ON SHAKEY GROUND WITH THE NEIGHBORS... I WAS FULL OF CONFIDENCE BECAUSE I HAD WATCHED BUILDERS BUILD MY NEW HOUSE AFTER THE OLD ONE BURNED TO THE GROUND ( ANOTHER STORY)--- THE LYNNFIELD BUILDING INSPECTOR SAID I DIDN;T NEED A PERMIT BECAUSE SINCE I DIDN'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT I WAS DOING, IT WOULDN'T LAST LONG ENOUGH TO REQUIRE A PERMIT ( MY FIRST DANCE WITH BUILDING INSPECTORES-- ANOTHERE STORY) I WENT BY THE OLD PLACE IN LYNNFIELD 6 MONTHS AGO, AND MY 40 YEAR OLD SHED IS DOING FINE... COULD BE IT IS THE LAYERS OF PAINT THAT ARE HOLDING IT TOGETHER-- BUT IT IS THERE...
I LEARNED-- QUICKLY-- RECTANGLES THAT WOBBLE AND COLLAPSE ARE IMMEDIATELY STABALIZED BY ONE LOUSY TRIANGLE.,AND SIMILARLY THAT NAILS HAMMERED IN CROOKED HOLD MUCH BETTER THAN PARALELL HAMMERED ONES...
SO BACK TO MY THEORY OF HIRING HANDYMEN, CONTRACTORS AND CARPENTERS--- IF YOU BUY THE CORECT EQUIPMENT AND JUST DO IT YOURSELF - - YOU ARE WAY AHEAD TIMEWISE AND FINANCIALLY..EVEN IF YOU LOSE/MISPLACE/WRECK THE EQUIPMENT YOU BOUGHT TO DO THE BUILDING. I CAN NOT COMPREHEND THE NUMBER OF DRILLS OR HAMMERS I HAVE BOUGHT --HAMMERS LIE FLAT IN GRASS AND WEEDS-- I BET THERE ARE 36 AROUND CRAZY ACRES...AN EASY BET... I HAVE BEEN HERE SINCE 1979 AND I AM SURE I HAVE LOST ONE PER YEAR.
BETS? I FORGET WHO I BET WITH BUT IN ?2000? I PERSONALLY / ALONE PUT UP WHAT IS NOW THE YELLOW SHOP BUILDING IN A WEEK--EXCEPT FOR THE BIG DOOR AND SHINGLES. JUST DON'T GO NEAR IT WITH A T-SQUARE.
ONE OTHER DETAIL ABOUT THAT BUILDING... DUE TO A SLIGHT MISCALCULATION, THE CEMENT FLOOR IS ABOUT 2 FEET THICK...
I LEARNED WHEN YOU ORDER 4 YARDS OF CONCRETE, YOU WILL GET 4 YARDS.... THEY HAVE EVERY INTENT OF GOING OUT THE DRIVEWAY WITH AN EMPTY TRUCK....I REMEMBER A COMEDIAN IN MIAMI BOASTED OF HIS FREEFORM CONCRETE ARTWORK IN HIS FRONT YARD DUE TO THE SAME FACT.

WORKING WITH 2X4'S IS ALOT EASIER THAN 81/2 X 11 SHEETS OF PAPER.

Good evening all,
I am just writing you guys to give you an update on Andrew. He is doing very well. He was laid up for a couple of months this summer do to him contracting an infection in his paw from a branch that got lodged in him during a hike. After several appointments, procedures and about $3,800 the specialist was finally able to figure out what was going on and conduct the final surgery on Andrew. Since then Andrew has fully healed and has been enjoying life and working hard. He accompanies me at the VA and he does a wonderful job in restraunts, grocery stores and at the hospital helping me through my grandfather's final days. On Andrews leisure time, he has been enjoying going to the river, riding on the pontoon boat and chasing my chickens around the yard.Andrew also had his first dance with me and my fiance at a family members wedding. He is truly a god send and helped me through a lot these past couple of years. Thank you.

My daughter goes to school in New Mexico and today I just had the best day thanks to Kringle. Prior to my health concerns I loved the outdoors by skiing, hiking, etc. Kringle has allowed me to hike again.
Today my daughter was busy so I hired a guide and took a short hike in NM to tent rocks. This is a challenging hike but I wanted to do it and knew with a guide and with Kringle I could do it. We were slow but it was just beautiful. The only other place in the world to hike like this is Turkey.
Well we did it. I had to share my pictures. Kringle was my star. She even avoided the tarantula.
I would have sent this to Carleen too but I don't have her email. This was my dream hike! Have a good night.
