the more things change, the more they stay the same...some very bright person  besides me said that-- ( but i remembered it)... i  do like to play music--- but my  itunes "thing" has got so full of junk i can't find the music i would like to listen to...  how bad is it???  i can get going with some nice broadway music, and in the midst is a guy lecturing on the physics of pendulums fomr some book that got downloaded  in the music place.  my car is almost as bad--it got stuck on  "ave maria" for months.  in latin... with courage i went and purchased "windmills of your mind/ springfield"  and amazon charged my card $1.29 it fell into the black hole of this computer. and i can not find it at all... **  so i am listening to danny kaye's "noah"   arguing with his kids about a rudder on the arc.. i saw the broadway show-- before the show the producer came out of the curtain  and said danny kaye  had  broken his foot that afternoon.  there was an audible groan-- and the curtain whipped back to see danny standing there with cast on his leg-- he did the whole show  that way with very few modifications...-- seeing as he was playing the part of an old guy--noah-- there wasn't too much dancing.  great show.. the really greats don't quit. ***** before we had polititians to provide  comic  material-- there was noah...-----another of my  noah favorites is read by stanley halloway Three Ha'Pence a Foot I'll tell you an old-fashioned story That grandfather used to relate, Of a builder and joining contractor Who's name it were Sam Oswaldthwaite. One day Sam were filling a knot hole With putty when in through the door, Came an old man fair reeked i'whiskers An th'old man said good morning I'm Noah. Sam asked Noah what were his business And t'old chap went on to remark, That not liking the look of the weather He was thinking of building an ark. it goes on and on --- as they argue the price of maple for the side of his bunk.... there is a cd--- somewhere-- halloway's --- including albert and the lion which i listened to so often , i now know it... that cd is fun to listen to mostly because teh brits have such a delightful time using words creatively.. as the lion swallows albert then coughs him up with clean hands. ****** my favortite commercial at the moment is normal until the punch line about getting your arm stuck in a vending machine... different.. *** i put a big rock at teh corner of the new building... mostly so we wouldnt run into it plowing snow... i had intended to have the dogfesters paint it -- figuring we could repaint it yearly.. i never should have mentioned it becasue -- the color became an issue-- to most, teh concept of arguing about hte color of a rock was just an amusing mental exercise- but..now i found that there is an element in any crowd that wants to be the one to make decisions-- sdp has happily got to the position of being managed by some very capable people with who's decisions i happily comply.. it all works very well as along as no one gets stuck in neutral  i remember.....the purple painting of the barn-- it was a nice conservative green/white... then home depot gave us a pallet of paint ( so they did not have to dispose of it)and there was more purple than any other.. which became the decision maker purple it is !! sometimes all we need is a decision maker to cut all arguements to a minimum. ** my inspiration was the airforce academy top brass who got teh entire school population together and said "if you can not respect every person regardless of race creed or gender. just get out" a clear decision maker. he had everyone take out their cell phones and record it.  **** so when you get your 2018 calendar,  you might see a pink flamingo where i personally preferred a yellow rubber ducky but i had to go along my poor rubberducky had too many patches from being attacjed by a snapping turtle.

running this joint ain't easy ----always something--   the dogs are the easy part !   even chaos is complaining....standing glaring at bentley for being in the prefereed sofa... so he had to move grumbling onto the big sofa with sizzle.... not his favorite...  it is terriblly hard to think with chaos eyes boring  into the back of my head.... and if i look at her, she wll move her glance to the fact that bentley is in the bed she wants...  who said dogs can't talk???

i think today we will start the ggruel feeding of  gabby's 6 pups-- so hey can soon move to the kitchen--- and audrey can take their place in the nursery... her firwt due date is oct 4th...

janine has a forever home for violet and lee... and none too soon, as she has another prego at her house... it is easier for everyone if the "on camera" stall is the nursery becaus e all teh camera people can keep track-- and call if they  see a foot protruding...

i should get the  "nosebags" today .. to get some feed into some of those donkeys that are skinney... withougt the dominant FAT  donkey getting any... it will be fun trying to get the donkeys to undersand  the food goes with them if they move...  good project for volunteers...

..  hopefully today accept delivery of our new dump trailer--it is ? a CAM trailer  12 feet long with  on board ramps so we can take the tractor places ( if we remove the back hoe first?)  but mostly it will be used for trash to the dump  and manure  to i don't know where.... a new trailer is sooo exciting...just think... i should be able to go to the "transfer station" with  odd rejectws from farm living... and just push a button and have it dump.....  the old trailer  would dump  with persuasion --- like a jump cable-- usually left in the battery box becasue teh battery has not worked in years....-- however.. because i t is usually there, in a known place.... it is prime for being used  to jump someone's car and left somewhere else-- in which case my friendly  dump manager will loan me his-- for a $10 tip...-- this transfer statoion is a huge  ? 300 foot square concreete pad  with a  20 ffot high concrete wall to push the stuff against...  the pusher is a monster loader- the kind joined in the middle...--  the pushed stuff then gets lifted into a 53' canvas covered trailer- and away it goes north to maine..----hopefully no where near the bottling of  poland springs water supply...

chaos has an upset tummy today..   almost typical of an early morning tummy-- empty  so she tossed yellow goop..-- she seems to be resting comfortably now...-- i always worry about bloat---  we have not had many bloat  problems.... but when you do-- it is big, quick, and expensive..  this is why we suggest all our recipients maintain a separate bank account for emergency vet bills...$3000 is a good  minimum  balance to have in there.  because if anything bad happens, it will happen on a weekend and that means  24 hour emergency clinic-- where they don't let you in the door unless you give them your credit card.

i remember -- one of our recipient's dogs-- on a sunday--developed a nose bleed.... splattering blood all over everywhere... and the clinic would not let her see a vet because she had run there withoiut her credit cards...even tho she had coverage from the VA... she could not prove it on a sunday...

cc email  is giving me a hard time  so i will post it here first...

shatupon sunday is the first sunday of the month  -- this next sunday--- oct first... not the 8th as teh calendar says....  from penguin----- Just a quick thought as there "appears" to be some confusion with CPs .... According to the calendar (SDP Fan-DANE-tastic one) .. Chicken Brick Sunday is stated as being the 8th of October .. BUUUT it is the 1st Sunday of the month .. which is October 1st (as in your Birthday) ... I 'fear' with the confusion some people are waiting / delaying purchasing the bricks ...  thus no "Sell-out" ..... So my thought is to place it in the DD  with a sense of urgency .... as of this moment still need to "sell" 950 bricks and a matter of 3-ish DAYS left !! ****** water water everywhere and not a  drop to drink...--( somebody said that  long ago???).---.if i was stuck in puerto rico.... i wonder just what would  i be doing about no water to drink? so i went to google maps... and there is... what appears to be sizable ponds/lakes well away from the coast...  This no water to drink is going to get worse very soon-- did i not hear 3-4 days without water is a survival type problem?  to have an entire population totally dependent on "artificial support " of electricity and gasoline  makes it more serious than  the "underdeveloped country"  which manages to survive without much of either.  i hope the centers for disease control are on board too...people worry about dogs depositing  germs in a pile of poo ---they don't compare to people germs being deposited on an airplane and getting transported to another population center big enough to have an airport...-- at least the  poo stays put locally.- ***** c-pap  and sleep apnea-- cpap-- if you look quickly looks like crap-- however... this "new" cpap machine  wirelessly tell someone  somewhere what hours i am sleeping-- along with heaven knows what else....  THEY  told me when THEY  put it in that medicare dictates  they keep records of when it is used to verify paying for it.-- ( a charge of  $175 a month)--  way off in the corner  of the screen... are the tiny  little bars that indicate internet access flickering away...  but that is  only th efirst part.... next, the new "mask" does not have buckles to snap in place...  there is a magnet to connect...which means a magnet on either side of my jaw-- i know just enough to know a lot of  what i don't know....  how do i know if they are not checking on  any gold fillings i might  have  in my teeth- so next time i am in the hospital someone can pull them out-  to cover medicare over runs.?  i am not happy about the progress.. **** maybe it is those magnets that have made me decide ice cream is not all that interestinbg....-- the dog fest ice cream got put in the walkin freezer... a good 8 gallons left over... and i have been working my way thru it.--  along with the anti- icecream  lactose pills that ann  told me about  i have no problem withe it.  the over-bundance makes it less attractive. ******  i bought myself a present... a new trailer that will both carry the tractor and dump manure....the accumulation iof manyre is an ongoing, unsolved problem-- which may eventually involve a big  machine to get us back to  ground zero...  we have about 1/4 acre covered to 4 feet.... janine can make use of teh old green one.....   i can no longer deal with it's finicky "to dump or not to dump, that is the question" ***** in the money spending department.... i splurged on  feedbags for donkeys  from the old west... they work !!..--- mo's feedbag works perfectly-- she gets her grain and no one else's we have a problem  with one really fat donkey, one normal.... and the rest terribly skinney-- i have wondered for days how to feed tjust the skinney ones...-- feed bags.. -- they are not expensive-- i found a sale on them $7.00 each...  should be delivered today or tomorrow...   that will be a great cp job... teach the donkey how to deal..  we should try with mommy in the stall....  they all have netting ...so they can actually drink and not drown- in case one gets left on  in the wild....

so far today  the news is full of stuff i don't dare get involved with... darn...... some is pretty funny material...as i have said before-- you can not say our gov't is  useless, because i provides untold material for late night commedians...

maybe one -- teri-can sent this...  with 5 pups lying in a circle on puppy hill.....  

"Okay, Does it start :' put your wight paw in, take your wight paw out?"

"NO, Silly It's your wight LEG that goes in  FWIRST ! Didn't you listen  cayfully when Nanny Pam sang it to  wus when we wuz widdle??"

 many questions abotu when will  we hear from cummings about -- hopefully --- a grant.  i have no idea... my guess is thya have to go back to  meeting and discuss teh bunch of charities thye viewed...  that could take a while..  one of the people had a form of questions to answer...and i did... when i gave him the payroll and  paid staff numbers he quickly said "well yu are certainly not overpaying anyone."  and i know that well...

you do get more than money working here-- 

you also get food...... far too much of it !!    i was eating the lobester as fast as i can... and today i really don't dare...  from saturday to wednesday is jusst too old...  with great pity we wil l toss out the last bit--( because eating it might really get it tossed !!)

lobster/clambake-- and the company that served us...  will someone please remember for next year-- that the guy who owns the joint tried to explainto megan... then pam on the phone  ... then me- on the phone... how unhappy he was that we did not wash out all the coolers before returning them... i had said i would return them unwashed because we don't have  provision for washing all that smelly lobster/fish except on ot the ground.... megan is prettl level headed...but was very upset  to have this guy get in her face...... pam  is far too nice... and was upset... now the interesting part....  i am often mistaken for a man on the phone with my low voice...he  politely started in with me " that is not the way we planned-   mr.white---you should have washed them out, " i corrected him   "mrs. white...."...  at which point he started in  with what could only be called verbal abuse.... when someone says "i am not screaming..i have surveilance cameras to prove it...." chances are... they are... he really tried to make me feel badly because he had to come in on his day off to  wash smelly coolers....and i just fielded the comments "did you cash teh $5000 check  on your day off too?"   he got very nasty-- and i wondered -- he had started out relatively politely until he knew i was not a man... so had he been so abusive to megan and pam   for that reason too???

he clearly was not thi9nking  because he said "we can not do business like that again"  and i  promised i would  make sure we didn't and get someone else next year-- and he went into "whoooops " mode.

so remind me next year     - the food was great... but not worth that verbal abuse of megan and pam... i was the one he shojuld have got to first....

Hi - I was able to see Annie late this afternoon. She looked good compared to what Deb said she looked like yesterday. She’s still bruised badly, but was very alert and seemed ok. They have had her up with a walker, and she said it was very painful on her foot. She’s in a walking cast up to her calf. Her right hand (her good one) also took the brunt of her fall and is very sore. Lucky she didn’t break that too.

 I’m going again on Friday - Deb is going during the day tomorrow. We’re going to bring her food and have dinner with her Friday. Deb said she will go Saturday afternoon and try to call during that mail call. She has her phone and a charger. I’m going to bring her an iPad or a laptop so she can get online.

Some people have messaged me asking about Annie. I’m going to put a very brief note on comments letting them know she is improving and feeling better. I imagine we will do the same as last time she was laid up and have people send cards to SDP then I can deliver them to her. You could say something about it at mail call tomorrow.

SONS OF BlTCHES ARE WONDERFUL...-- BELLA'S  DOG  GEORGE IS ONE OF THEM..... IT IS THE SONS OF HUMANS THAT ARE THE PROBLEM.

WHY WITH  ALL THE PROBLEMS IN THE WORLD,  DO I HAVE TO STRUGGLE AND ARGUE ABOUT PEE PADS?  

... ALLOW ME TO DEFINE THE CONCEPT.... ABOUT 8 HOURS AFTER BIRTH--  STUFF COMES RUNNINIG THRU A NEW PUPPY... AND MOMMY LICKS IT UP--- CARRY'S AND DEPOSITS IT OUTDOORS WHERE OUR SUPERB POO PICKING CREW - PICKS... BAGS.. AND CARRIES IT TO THE DUMPSTER WHERE IT IS HOPEFULLY BURNED FOR FUEL IN THE STATE OF MAINE. THAT LASTS FOR  ABOUT 2 WEEKS WHEN THEY START TO CRAWL - AND DECIDE GETTING FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN BY MOMMY IS NO FUN...-- SO THEY CRAWL AWAY FROM HER.... AND  "THE NEST"...  THE NEST BEING DEFINED AS A WARM COZY FLUFFY-- SO EARLY IN THE GAME  THERE IS  NATURALLY DEVELOPED  HERE AND THERE MENTALITY....AT LEAST WITH THE PUPS.....

 IT IS  HOUSEBREAKING AT IT'S FINEST...----TO GO ALONG WITH THE  CLEAN NEST PHILOSOPHY---  AT ABOUT 3 WEEKS WE START THEM ON  "OUR " FOOD   ( PURINA) AND MOMMY HELPS BY VOMITING UP MOST OF HER BREAKFAST AS SEMI DIGESTED SOFT PUPPY FOOD.... WE THEN MOVE  THE PUPS   TO THE KITCHEN....  WHERE I STRUGGLE WITH VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF-- IF YOU MAKE A SOFT FLUFFY AREA BY THE SOFA SOME  PUPS WILL SLEEP THERE-- BUT IF YOU LEAVE TOWELS OVER BY THE REFRIGERATOR  OTHER PUPS WILL SEE IT AS A COZY FLUFFY-- NOW---.... FOR THOSE OF YOU  PAYING ATTENTION... YOU CAN NOW  VISUALIZE THE TOWEL SLEEPERS WILL WANT TO GET AWAY FROM THEIR TOWEL  SO GO TO THE SOFA ARE AND PEE... AND THE SOFA SLEEPERS -- YOU GOT IT.. PEE ON THE TOWELS...

THERE IN LIES THE RUB.... BY MY (THUS FAR  IGNORED)   ORDER----  NO TOWELS ON THE KITCHEN FLOOR.... MAKE A NEST OF COZZY TOWELS/ FLUFFY'S  THEN A GAP OF CLEAN FLOOR AND HAVE SOME PEEPADS ACRODSS THE KITCHEN BY THE  FRIDGE-- OR BETTER YET... IN TH E HALL AND LEAVE THE GATE OPEN...  THEY WILL USE THEM-- MAY TAKE  DAY OR TWO... BUT THEY WILL... IN MY HALF VAST EXPERIENCE.

REMEMBER MY  2 LIFETIME GOALS ARE TO TRAIN A SEEING EYE DOG... AND HAVE A DOG THAT"USES"  A PEE PAD IN AIRPORTS AND HOTELS...

YOU MAY THINK THE LITTLE DARLINGS ARE SLEEPING... PARTIALLY TRUE-- THE ARE ALSO FILLING UP THEIR LITTLE BLADDERS 

SO IF YOU COME THRU THE GATE-- OR BETTER YET CALL THEM INTO 

 THE HALL ON THE PEE PADES, THEY WILL  100% SQUAT ( OR STRETCH DEPENDING ON THE GENDER) --

NOW COMES THE HARD PART... HUMANS-- TRYING TO BE HELPFUL  HANNAHS  FIGURE THEY WILL USE TEYHE PEEPDAS BETTER IF THEY ARE CLOSER TO STUFFYDOM -- PROBLEM IS... WHILE THEY ARE LYING THERE FILLING THEIR BLADDERS THEY LOOK OVER T THOSE PEEPADS AND THINK  " I CAN DRAG THAT AROUND AND GET OTHERS TO CHASE ME" - HOWEVER DRAGGING FROM TEH HALL IS NOT QUITE SO INT4ERESTING.----SPECIALLY IF YOU PROVIDE SOMETHING INTERESTING  IN THE CLEAN FLOOR SECTION... LIKE LITTLE BOXES... OR TWISTED BROWM PAPER WITH IT'S NOISE FACTOR.....

TEH PROGRESSION OF THE PEE PADS MUST BE SUBTLE-- MID KITCHEN-- TO FRIDGE  AND FINALLY---- TO  HALL!  WHILE AT THE SAME TIME DEVELOPING THE "ACHIEVING BOREDOM"  IN THE PEE PAD DRAGGING  GAME.

IF AN OCCASIONAL PUDDPLE APPEARS NOT ON A PEE PAD  A TOWEL TO MOP SHOUD BE USED AND TOSSED IN THE LAUNDRY IMMEDIATELY... IT IS THE SQUATERS WHO HAVE TROUBLE BECAUSE OF THE  LOCATION OF THE FLUID PRODUCING DEVICE..  THE MID BODY POSITION OF THE STRETCHERS MAKES FOR  BETTER AIM...

IT MAY COST US A FEW CHEWED UP PEE PADS TO ACHIEVE BOREDOM... BUT LETS GIVE IT A SHOT.

Dear Carlene,

Asher and I are back to our usual routine and we can't stop thinking about our time at Dog Fest this past weekend! It was so nice to escape to the farm for the weekend and see you, all the wonderful SDP staff, and so many CPs. Every time I come back to the farm, I'm reminded of the family we have there (and far beyond!) who loves to watch me and Asher work so well together. SDP is truly unlike anywhere else - you all change lives by providing such perfect partners to people who can then experience so much more independence, but it doesn't stop there. The encouragement and support just keeps coming. I can't tell you how many people stopped me to compliment me on how well Asher and I work together (which, of course, has very little to do with me and everything to do with his stellar training) and to let me know that if we ever need anything, all we have to do is ask. When I was matched with Asher, I didn't just acquire a dog; I also got a pretty huge family to go along with us on our journey!

I remember my first trip to SDP last January, when everything was covered in snow and ice and I could hardly get around outside. But we spent the two days focusing on what I COULD do to help out around the farm - good thing there's always plenty of laundry to be folded! I was never once pitied, I was just another visitor to the farm ready to get to work. And this past weekend was a lot like that experience. It didn't matter what kinds of things we struggle with physically - we were all just there together to celebrate the organization we all love. 

Crazy Acres is certainly a magical place, and after leaving I'm always just waiting until I can go back! Hopefully we'll be able to visit one more time before the snow comes and take a break from the books for a weekend. But in the meantime, I just wanted to tell you again how much Crazy Acres means to us (it's undoubtedly Asher's favorite destination too!), and thank you and your staff for an incredible Dog Fest weekend. See you soon!

I KNOW EVERYONE HAD A GOOD TIME AND NO ONE GOT BITTEN, OR KICKED  ( BY A MULE OR DONKEY)-- NO DOG FIGHTS- JUST ALOT OF POSITIVES... FROM  SATUREEDAY'S STARBUCK GALLONS OF DONATED COFREE TO SUNDAY'S HUGE BEN AND JERRY'S SUNDAIES-- WE ATE....KELLY'S GREAT SANDWICHES FROM JIM'S  NEW SANDWICH  TRUCK...IPSWICH CLAMBAKE  LOBSTERS,SHIRMP,CHOWDER,+++-- TO --- THE STRAWBERRY WHIPPED CREAM CAKE*** TO MARK+++/ BBQ TOMORE CAKE AND BEN AND JERRY'S SUNDAI SET UP... WE ATE... AND "SUGARED UP"

MOMENTOUS MOMENTS?...TOO MANY BUT I WILL TRY...  THE NUMBER OF PURPLE SHIRTS WHO JUST SWUNG INTO ACTION WAS APPALLING-- MOST NOTEABLY PATRICE-  USUALLY RELATIVELY DIGNIFIED- WANDERING AROUND WITH A CARDBOARD CARTON QUIETLY COLLECTING RECYCLABLES-- PAM- WHO CARRIES ENOUGH  DETAILS IN HER HEAD  TO RUN HARVARD UNIVERSITHY--CAMERA MARK A GREAT UNOBTRUSIVE MASTER OF CEREMONIES.....LAURA AND DEVIN HAD 2 OF THE BEST GENERICACLLY  TRAINED DOGS--"ON DISPLAY"  HAPPY SOCIABLE AND FOCUSED ON LAURA AND DEVLIN.. -- PILES OF 2X3'S WERE  QUICKLY TURNED INTO SPIRIT STICK HOLDERS BY  STEVE #4 AND JERRI ...BECAUSE LAST YEARS WER HOLDING UP  A FENCE SOMEWHERE...ALL THE SERVICE DOGS WERE PERFECT-- OF COURSE-- THANKS TO STEVE#2 AND MEGAN'S  TRAINING OF THE RECIPIENTS !!!  TANNER AND STEVE#4 PARKED CARS EVERYWHERE BUT IN THE TREES....CARS WHICH HAD LICENSE PLATES FROM ALL OVER THE US.... AND CANADA. .. THOSE WERE NOTICED BY THE  CUMMINGS VISITING COMMITTEE-- WHO 'S REACTON SEEMED TO BE  " WE HAD NO IDEA"  -- I HOPE IT WAS A POSITIVE SHOCK-  I CAN'T SAY WE MADE ANY PREPARATIONS FOR THIER ARRIVAL---  WE  ARE WHAT WE ARE AND DO WHAT WE DO-- WE DID WASH THE BIG GOLF CART AS THE TOUR BUS....- BUT THAT WAS ABOUT THE ONLY PREPARATION.-- I FORGOT TO TRY AND EXPALIN THE SPIRIT STICKS-- WHICH WERE MANAGED BY STEVE #3 AND KITTY

 IN THE MIDST OF IT ALL, JANINE ORGANIZED A DONKEY "EPISODE" - AND AS I SAT THERE TRYING TO SERIOULSY EXPALIN TO THE CUMMINGS COMMITTEE HOW WONDERFUL TO GET A PERSON OUT OF A WHEELCHAIR AND ON THEIR FEET WALKING, JANINE HURRIED  BY WITH  BELLA- COMPLETE IN JOCKEY SILKS AND RACING GOGGLES ON TOP OF 1800 POUND  MO. WHEN THE DUST HAD SETTLED FOM THAT, MEGAN MARCHED BY WITH THE 8 PUPS AND TURNED THEM ONTO  "HONEYMOON HILL" -WHICH GAVE ME A CHANCE TO POINT OUT TO THE COMMITTEE...  WE ARE QUITE A GROUP... AS PEOPLE STOOD IN FRON TOF US--- FACING THE PUPS-- I COULD POINT OUT THE NUMBER OF REAR POCKETS THAT HAD POO PICKERS IN THEM...  DR GEORGE ADDED SOME PROFESSIONAL SANITY TO THE BIZARRE "HAPPINING" 

AND DOG FEST  #6 IS ONLY 363 DAYS AWAY

What made the weekend so special, was that regardless of our different roles,  we all came together as one, respecting each other and the dogs. I never felt like a person with a mobility need. I just felt part of the celebration.

Thank you, thank you to everyone who made sure that we and our dogs had everything we needed.

before i get into dogfest news.----last night's shocking news...-- there is now a vacumm cleaner tht will vacumn up spaghetti... for 3 easy payments of 49.95.. it is not too often i need to vacuum spaghetti since my youngest is now 50...- but our solution to the levitation of spaghetti is far superior-- pocketed poo pickers- also offer the operator an exercise routine of bending  which would also replace teh exercise video for which you could pay 19.95.  you think i am kidding... our 2 peices of 3 x 6 cardboard-- especially from the fuzzy cardboard of cereal boxes-- would lift the spghetti, wipe the floor--- and the premium  version has a wipe and clean packet attached so it washes teh floor t the same time... and only costs $10 a month  to rent the concept which also gets you a supporting membership of the shatupon society of ipswich..  DOES EXACTLY WHAT THE $49.95 (x3) online version does. SUCH A DEAL !! **** and dogfest---  everyone seems to be having a wonderful time-- which maybe you all can see online...-- with the possibell excdeptoon of the accapella group-- which maybe you could see but not hear--it is their 5th year...  that was the only  scheduled evernt... the rest was food !! pam? scrambled  graces farm fresh eggs for breakfast--- starbucks donated coffee...  lunch from   jim- the kelly's beef man...brought his huge new "food truck"   with great sandwiches... the usual-- but a trial of fried chicken with cheese on  one of those yellowish bun's ? potatoe roll?  -- had to eAt quickly to mke way for the supper truck of lobster/steak with a bunch of other stuff  shirmp salads soup-- followed by THE CAKE  from spinnelli's( also 5th year..) I CAN'T BELIEVE WE ATE THE WHOLE THING--  AS VARIOUS MEALS APPEARED WE HAD TO ASK MO TO RETIRE TO THE BARN....her intelligence makes her curious about everything....   she has not tripped or knocked anytihgn over  but the potential of an 1800 pound animal wandering around food serviing facilities   made me nervous.   getting everyone to feed her  treats only out of a fry pan has been a bit of a struggle... i hate to see her reaching for hands - we really need her to reach for the fry pans as being the only place she can find carrots/aples/dog r=treats/ and sprite????  yup ! sprite..  one a day/  **** Violet - the new mom-- has been so good- that too many people went in her stall to pat her so often... that she got very tierd and had to lay down for a long nap... which made me nervous...  equines do not lay down for long periods of time... i forget the old wives tale about it ... but there is one... smewhere o remember 20 minutes--  then get up and sleep standing----lee was poking aournd saying "hey mom someone hid my supper"  i had to  "close the barn" -- next year--- remind me to have a specific "close the barn at 5pm"  **** today-- most importantly... we have 4 visitors coming t 1pm  to  ?inspect?    they are from the group that hs given us $100,000 over 2 years, and are  inspecting us for a possible  20 - 100k per year for 10 years- we are what we are..  with 200 people wandering around - hopefully simonizing my wonderful tractor-  and  trying to put a harness on mo... hopefully they will see that it is this huge group of $10 donors  that means we can donate dogs to  veterans and others...  and all they ask in return is to be included and entertained in the process.  "did you go to the beach on vacation?"  -- "no i simonized a tractor"  has a certain zing to it. ** schedule-- apparently janine-   is haveing donkey walk about 10:30-- i forget who is  doing th bbq lunch   an official NATIVE AMERICAN  pow wow at 2:00 ( off camera)  then the spirit stick march at 3:00 with the burning  of the sticks ( so the spirit can remain here...) 4:30 the ben and jerry's truck with the icecream sundiaes-- somehow   we have a second CAKE -- one year we did eat 2 the first day... but this heart   we havve a whole one left for sunday...  i dunno ;..... lunch desert????  before the icecream???? there is food here....big time... luckily we have 2 big normal refrigerator/freezers  plus a  6' x 12 '    walk in freezer..  so i am sure it all got put away somewhere.... ******  the recipients are wonderful... as are thier dogs...  everybody is  thrilled with the progress..  several have said they coudln t  have thought of coming to anything like dogfest before they got thier dogs...   by  trains....planes and auto for hours-- everyone mannaged theri dog perfectly... keep in mind it means   water dishes, food, snacks. poo pickers-- there  is alot to manqage having a service dog.  i am speciall y  proud of   erica and asher   from R.I. and caroline and clark - from ohio-- lookin  good ---  smiling away !!!! hunter and wendy were here too.... and alot of people were carrying around the tote bags with wendy's pickture on the m.... i also saw hunters father carrying around a huge box of teh tote bags... so tehy must be doing well... they should be  on the web  soon  for $25 plus  $5.. ***  i am told starbucks  is here with cooooooffffeeeeeee and a bunch are cooking breakfast in th t tent. i am outta here ! ******** medical reports????  no report on   annie's  yet--- she fell and brokd a few bones... si  all i know i will find out who is orgainzing something about her... **** then....bella' surgery...  WELL I HAVE BEEN DREADING MAKING THIS POST. I WANT TO TURN BACK TIME BUT CAN'T.  BELLA AND GEORGE ARE GOING TO HAVE A VERY LONG FEW MONTHS AHEAD OF THEM. WE DON'T HAVE DATES FOR ANYTHING YET BUT SHOULD SOON. SO DR KARLIN CHECKED HER OUT AND FILLED US IN ON HER MRI. HE TOOK SOME 3-D X-RAYS AND HE ALSO CAME TO SUPPORT HER AND POSITION HER FOR ANOTHER X-RAY. THEN WE WENT AND GOT THE NEWS. HER KYPHOSIS IS A 60-70 DEGREE ANGLE. IT SHOULD BE 20-30 DEGREES. THE BASE OF HER CERVICAL SPINE TO HER THORACIC SPINE CREATES SUCH A LARGE ANGLE THAT HER SPINAL CORD IS BEING COMPRESSED. THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO IT YET THAT THEY CAN TELL FROM THE MRI AND HER NECK IS STABLE WHICH IS GOOD NEWS. BUT SHE NEEDS INTERVENTION SOONER RATHER THAN LATER. SO WE ARE PLANNING ON DECEMBER. BELLA WILL HAVE TO BE ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR 3-4 WEEKS FOR TRACTION. THAT INVOLVES PUTTING A HALO ON AND BASICALLY HAVING THAT ATTACHED TO A ROPE WITH A WEIGHT TO STRETCH OUT HER NECK. THE IDEA IS THAT IT WILL CORRECT THE CURVE JUST ENOUGH TO DO SURGERY. IT IS TO MUCH OF A CORRECTION TO JUMP INTO SPINAL SURGERY WITHOUT TRACTION. SO AFTER TRACTION IS DONE AND HER NECK IS A LITTLE STRAIGHTER SHE WILL GO IN AND HAVE A FUSION. SHE WILL NEED C-5 DOWN THROUGH ALL OF HER THORACIC SPINE FUSED WITH RODS ON EACH SIDE OF HER VERTEBRAE. THEN SHE WILL STAY IN THE HOSPITAL FOR RECOVER. SO IT'S LOOKING LIKE 4-6 WEEKS IN PATIENT. IT'S A LONG TIME. HOPEFULLY THERE IS A DOG PARK NEAR BY FOR GEORGE TO BE ABLE TO RUN IN. SO NOW WE WAIT FOR DATES. I HATE ALL THIS WAITING.  BUT I WILL END TONIGHT WITH BELLA'S ONE BIG QUESTION, "DR KARLIN DO YOU THINK THIS SURGERY WILL MAKE ME TALLER" KARLIN SAYS "POSSIBLY BUT NOT A LOT". BELLA RESPONDS "IT'S OK I ONLY WANT TO BE 1 INCH TALLER SO I CAN BE 4 FEET!" KARLIN SAYS HE THINKS THAT MAY HAPPEN ONCE HER BACK IS STRAIGHT. I THINK THEN BELLA WAS READY FOR SURGERY. AND IT IWAS STUCK RIGHT ACROSS TEH BACK DRIVEWAY--- I THUMPED AND BANGED MY LEFT FOOT COMICALLY WHILE SWEARING... AND THAT PROCESS  DID NOT WORK AGAIN...

THAT TRACTOR COULD HAVE BEEN TIED UP FOR WEEKS TO AND FROM THE TRACTOR REPAIR  STORE . JUST BECAUSE I LACKED A TINY BIT OF COURAGE TO FIGURE OUT HOW THOSE #$%^&*( METERS WORK...  BUD WILL BE HERE TODAY... MAYBE HE CAN REDUCE THE KNOWLEDGE  FOR ME   ---TO  2 WIRES - 2 SCREWS KIND OF THING... I AM GOOD AT THAT...

SO NOW I HAVE SOMEONE WHO WILL COME .. OH MY GOSH!!! I just saw on the news a lady in a DE restaurant full out screaming because there was a Veteran service dog - a GREAT DANE in there. She didn't want to eat around a dog. She was super loud and the dog just stood there. Even the news man said the dog did not do anything and stood right next to the veteran. She was told to leave and they locked her out!!! I"m in the VA/DC area.

I'm thinking it was one of your dogs. I was a grey/black/white large dog. The veteran was a male. I feel so sorry for the dog, the veteran, and the other people in the restaurant.

SOMTHIN'  NEW EVERY DAY..  6AM PHONE CALL... SOMEONE  IS MINUS THIER DOG AND WANTED TO GET IT IN OUR DAILY DOGGIE

My daughter in law shared this information this morning. A dog sitter let these people's dog off lease in a strange place for the dog. I wasn't certain how to get this out to all of the SDP people in the area and hope you can post it for me. Unfortunately the message I received had no contact number.

My dog sitter lost my dog. Please share this with everyone you know, especially in the Topsfield, MA area. She took her to a strange area and let her out in the woods off leash. Maisey has never been lost or alone at night. Please help me find her before nightfall. She has a tag on her collar with multiple cell phone contacts for us. She's gentle and responds to her name and food. We're flying home  from Colorado now''

ONE OF THE WORST DAYS OF M Y DOG CAREER WAS THE DAY BROWNIE, A HUGE FRIENDLY MERLE WALKED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY WITH PANDY  --- ( PANDEMONIUM - A WHITE DEAF--)  AND THEY GOT SEPARATED --HE JUST LAY ON SOME BODYS FRONT LAWN AND WAITED FOR A RIDE HOME... SHE PANIC'D AND RAN..  FOR MILES--- AND I KEPT GETTING CALLS FROM ALL OVER ESSEX COUNTY-- AT ONE POINT RUNNING DOWN THE MIDDLE OF RT 1 (  WAS THE MAIN ROAD MAINE TO FLORIDA),... SLIGHTLY TIMID SHE WOULD NOT GO NEAR ANYONE FOR 3 DAYS-- FINALLY SOMEONE ON A GOLF COURSE GOT HIS BELT AROUND HER NECK...-- THE CONCEPT OF A CONFUSED DOG UPSET ME FOR YEARS.... STILL DOES... SO I HOPE WE CAN HELP FIND THIS DOG...

IT MAY BE RAINING ... BUT AT LEAST IT IS NOT COLD...

WE ARE DOWN TO ONE OVERNIGHT PERSON... WHICH MEANS WHOEVER GETS LITTLE  TO NO SLEEP-- FURTHERMOTRER  PAM RACED HOME TO BE THERE WHEN JOSE HITS THE CAPE..  HER HOUSE IS APPARENTLY 10 MILES FROM THE OCEAN.-- THE CAPE HAS THAT FUNNY ELBOW  SHAPE SO ALMOST EVEYONG IS "NEAR THE OCEAN"   I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY SHE WANTED TO GET  THERE TO BOARD UP HER HOUSE-- BUT HAVING DONE THAT .... I PERSONALLY WOULD HAVE  AT LEAST GONE ACROSS THE BRIDGE TO GET OFF THE CAPE-- IT IS A LITTLWE LIKE KEY WEST-- WITH LIMITED EGRESS-- I HAVE ONLY BEEN THERE ONCE IN MY LIFE...AND WOULD RESIST GOING BACK... AS I HEAR.. ON A GOOD DAY    " THERE IS A 2 HOUR DELAY AT THE BRIDGE OFF THE CAPE..."  WITH HORROR STORIES OF THE CARS CRAWLING ALONG RUNNING OUT OF GAS BEFORE THEY EVEN GET OVER TEH BRIDGE..... REMINDS ONE OF AN HOURGLASS-- ONE  GRAIN OF SAND AT A TIME.  I WOULD HAVE TROUBLE WITH THAT...

I REMEMBER.........AS A KID, EVERY TIME WE WENT TO THE MOVIES MY MOTHER WOULD REMIND US TO SIT NEXT TO THE EXIT..... SHE WAS WELL AHEAD OF HER TIME ON THAT ONE. THAT WAS EVEN WHEN  THE ONLY FEAR OF MOVIE THEATERS WAS FIRE...  AND TEH MOVIES WERE 12 CENTS ---   10 + 2 CENTS TAX.... I REMEMBER THOSE TICKETS...

I ALSO REMEMBER GOING TO THE MOVIES WITH MY SISTER-- TO ONE OF THE 3 THEATERS IN NEWBURGH THAT WAS NOT ON MOTHER'S PREFERRED LIST--   IT WAS A HOT DAY--BOTH OF US HAD LONG HAIR AND FLIPPED OUR HAIR OVER THE BACK OF THE  FUZZY THEATER SEATS---IT WAS NOT LONG AFTER THAT  MY MOTHER FOUND WE HAD "NITTS" -- LICE OR WHATEVER AND FIGURED OUT WE HAD BEEN TO THE "WRONG" THEATER...  I DON'T KNOW IF MY SISTER FRAN REMEMBERS.... BUT I SURE CAN  FEEL THAT NARROW LICE REMOVING COMB GOING THRU MY LONG HAIR...--HER ANGER WAS GREAT AS SHE SAID ,"I AM NOT GOING TO HAVE YOUR TEACHER CALL ME AND TELL ME MY DAUGHTER HAS LICE"  I LOST ALOT OF HAIR THT DAY..

( TO ANYONE FROM  NEWBURGH -- THERE WERE 2 THEATERS WITH YELLOW MARQUI  CLOSE TO EACH OTHER WITH MGM FILSM ETC AND ONE OTHER WITH A GREEN FRONT.. CLOSER TO THE RIVER .. ON THE OTHER SIDE THE STREET -- ANYONE REMEMBER THE NAMES?)

A FRIEND UNEARTH ONE OF T HOSE "YEARLY LETTERS"  I WROTE IN 1966  WHICH IS A FOR RUNNER TO THE CURRENT   DAILY DOGGIE...

With the usual gay abandon we’ve made it thru another year. THIS IS 1966    

        Janine is almost two -  what she lacks in age and size, she makes up in volume and confusion.  She will tackle any project, usually with disasterous results.  It’s virtually impossibleto accomplish anything with her underfoot – however she’s game for most anything.

         Gwen aged four, is doing very well in kindergarden.  It is a very formal private school and they seem to be going very fast.  She is a year younger than the rest, but so far she is holding her own nicely.  She rides a 2 wheeled bike now and a 10 mile ride doesn’t phase her.  

  * NOW THE VERY INTERESTING PART.... IN THAT SAME YEARLY LETTER    THERE IS MENTION-- BOB KOLLER (HUSBAND OF 1966)  AND MAKES MENTION OF A DR WHITE ( HUSBAND OF A FEW YEARS LATER)

Sorry to be so slow to respond, I've  been in Nashville for a week and didn't have a computer there.  I've got a lot of catching up to do!

We are doing great!  I had a long infusion last week and several appointments.  I was worried that it would be difficult for him because my infustion was almost 7 hours.  He was perfect!  People came from all over the building to peek at him Every little bit he'd lift his head and put it on my knee to check me out then would settle back and nap some more.  

We get out every day. It doesn't matter where we go he's just happy working. That's a huge change for me as I avoided going in public like the plague before I got him.   He's perfect in stores, restaurants or just walking.  We're doing great on the stairs and make sure we practice both at home and in a crowd.  (I haven't practiced getting up from a fall in public but we practice several times a week at home)   

I have only glowing compliments on his behavior when we're out. I haven't had any instances where he was not welcomed.  He's so perfectly trained that no one questions him being a real service dog.  He's famous at Trader Joe's. When we go there every employee there calls out "Bye Ned" from every corner of the store when we leave.  It's funny, now even other customers join in.   

I already can't imagine life without him. My daughter laughs at us because  he's a "spooner" always trying to snuggle as closely as he can.   He doesn't let me out of his sight.  He walks every step with me even in the house. 

 I don't have words to describe the difference he's made in my life.  He's the most devoted and loving fur baby ever!  HIs kiss spot is going to be worn off before long!   .  Thank you so much for all you do!!!

NOW GO LOOK FOR THE LOST DOG...

another cake day????   who knew....now that i have all these fire departments expecting cake, i have to deliver...  i am nearly thru the deluge of life savers i hand out to policemen on  traffic detail...

 another day of hair in curlers....video ing is going well...  eric thinks he has some wonderful ... stuff... it used to be  "footage" when it was film... so what is it now  bittage?-- we have one more day-- during which i am supposed to  have  verbalized how we train the dogs... which for a long time i have said  the details can not be put in words...  there has to be an instinct/timing-- however i tried...( am tryng--) one more day-- today..

i am told- for the camera--- megan did a splendid job training  on stairs and  flalling down  in the hotel then had to come back here and do the sound--we all had to keep dogs from barking while that went on...  bella and george are old pro's at the tv stuff  --lookin good

i continue to be impressed with these 8 black pups...  got to lookk them over as life goes on... we need to pick the very best  one as a breeding dog... very  many dog breeders don't have that option  they sell the best and breed  what's left... that is a down hill operation...

 the 6 corporate helpers which we thougt were coming to paint mon tues wed.. are acrtually coming wed thurs fri...--- the project of painting  got all tossed to the wind - literally as by wednesday we migh have pieces of MARIA blowing us around.. leaving me with a big question of the day....

CAN YOU PAINT A DAMP SURFACE WITH LATEX...?  BEING WATER BASED DOES THAT MEAN IT WOULD JUST DRY SLOWER?

if we don't dry out on time, the painting the  "white house" might be the dogfest chore of the day????

a huge pile of mail went out of here yesterday--  the mailing of  the shirts??? was i think the bulk-- tho i never did see them being processed...  there is a wall-- figuratively and literally between me and the  linda operation...

people ( and MARIA)  start arriveng tomorrow??... it is all on the white board behind me...otherwise known as the pam operation.

just imagine me charging $3999.95 in beauty products in vegas  -- luckily it stood out and my costco visa card picked it out. --  i have about had it with the entire credit card bit...i think....the only thing i have had no problem with is paypal...

this last episode started with someone controlling my cursor-- so i shut off the computer and called the bank and closed the 6 accounts to which i am connected.. reg checking...checking attached to online purchases-- and savings.-- times 2  same for SDP- and opened new ones... so who's counting  - now 12 accounts--8 with a credit card attached...

in the best of worlds... that's 20 account numbers-- 

maybe it was GOLDIE  trying to tell me ... this is nuts ---- because  in the bunch i have credit card numbers ending in 8166, 8611, 1816, 6188..it doesn't take a split second to imagine the mess i can make of those... especially when all the passwords have had to be changed more than once..

ok -- i am going to GO WITH GOLDIE---  cash and checks...  it will take me a few weeks to get out-- but GOLDIE  has warned me  there is someone out there trying to  rule the world-- electronically.  it was supposed to be easier-- not true...

i need to find out what  the experian deal is..  somethign sounded good-- like refuse all credit...-- i dont anticipate needing to buy a house again...

i think i shoudl divorce myself from the  paperless nonsense...... i can drive 2 miles to the bank

long ago when this all started... i refused to carry a credit card-- i had a german friend  "riki" who only carried cash-- went to the local off ices to pay things like telephone and elect.  i think maybe she was right..

 the only time it was difficult without a card was to try and rent a car in philedelphia--

i wonder if i could manage-- no card... just cash checks.--- well maybe paypal with deposited money-- not attached to the bank.

todays daily doggie witll be done some other day....  between trying to find latex masonry paint for a vertical surface and 6 peope atriving at 9 to put it on the icu  exterior walls....  and the videographer here to do some voice over when i am supposed to sound like i know what ia m doing... 

one story i thought would be interestin is  laura... of BMW kennels  n.y.   who had  nationally recognized beautiful  championship danes --- had   a great deal of european bloodlines... because she had a sperm swapping deal involving a couple  pilots who flew  back and forth from germany with a syringe  in their vest  pockets...   lotsa   stories....

she kept 4 studs in teh same  "run"  togethere - realkt--- took out one to breed  my  dogtyfanny  the n put it back and not a problem..---  i have problems with w-- walter and bentley - on the same 12 acres...

thee is a picture of her with 5 big danes in a rowboat in long island sound  where she took them back and forth to an island to run... and i don't think there is  one inch of boat showing over waterline... 

if she and i had ever decided to work together  we coudl nhave conquered the entire dane world..  she eas 100% show-- championship-- and i was 100%  training...  she could not get over the fact that i  did not even have a leash or collar on tiffany wen we went across to long island by boat.. and into cars/traffic/public/ to her kennel .. i didn't even have a leash with me...- and actually i had 2 dogs with me... tiffany and ?jack?

and it all got put off because i got sidetracked  with an email  from a afghan vet with ptsd and a 3 yr old boxer....

i did answer him... with the following....

 totally on an experimental basis..........i would be willing to have a shot at retraining you to train your dog...

we have open house every sunday--- we could talk   minus dog

the only reason i would find it interesting is that a  3 year old boxer is known for being  a huge training problem.... so i can not promise miracles,, 

boxers are bred to be tenacious and hang on  to any idea....  any dog who is bred with those jaw muscles hs been bred to hang on...

but i did it once with an awful pitt bull...

 or.... not sunday...  with dog.....since  i live here ----probably any day monday hru thursday... because my other 2 trainers -- megan/steve... might find the challange interesting too..

this does not get you a  service dog. certified by us...... but any well behaved dog is a ptsd dog.... our certified  balance dogs take over a year to train...

NO WONDER WE HAVE TO WAIT MONTHS FOR SOME APPOINTMENTS... THE SYSTEM IS ALL BUGGERED UP WITH  MORE CREATIVITY THAN MEDICINE.

HONESTLY  I DON'T THINK I EVER STUDIED THE BREATHING OF A FOAL AS I HAVE THIS ONE...-- AS LONG AS THEY WERE ACTIVE AND NURSING-- YOU LET  THEM BE... HOWEVER...WITH MOTHER'S PNEUMONIA SUPERIMPOSED ON THE SITUATION,  I STAYED RELATIVELY IN/ NEAR  BED AND JANINE CAME OVER TO DEAL...  BRYAN WAS UNAVAILABLE... SO SHE CALLED  ANOTHER VET SHE  USES ON A ROUTINE BASIS WITH THE RESCUES... JANINE IS SUPER/EXTRA CAREFUL... BECAUSE SHE NAS SEEN SO MANY WHRE THE ILLNESS GETS AHEAD OF THE TREATMENTS AND THE Y DON'T SURVIVE... SO SHE WAS "ON IT"  SHE EVEN TOOK THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN DOWN TO THE BARN IN CASE... I DON'T PERSONALLY KNOW THIS VET-- I THINK I KNEW HIS FATHER--( VET) DURING MY HUSBANDS  RACE HORSE PHASE.. I THINK HE  SAID TEH LUNGS/HEART SOUNDED FINE.. SLIGHT TEMP- YOU ALL PROBABLY HEARD BETTER THAN I... BUT APPARENTLY HE GAVE THE FOAL AN ANTIBIOTIC - AND BANAMEIN --THE HORSE EQUIVALENT TO ASPRIN TYPE MED.  MOM IS LOOKING MUCH BETTER AND HAS PLENTY OF MILK SO.... AT THE MOMENT ALL IS LOOKING UP... ******* AS NEW MOMMIES, YOU  "CAMERA PEOPLE" ARE LEARNING , RAISING ANIMALS IS A "CRAP SHOOT"  WHERE ANYTHING CAN... AND DOES... HAPPEN... WE ARE ON IT... HAS BEEN AT IT...  FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON  A GUY CAME UP THE DRIVEWYA AND WAS A TREE CLIMBER/CUTTER SO I  HIRED HIM FOR 3 DAYS TO CLEAR AWAY ALL THE DEAD STUFF AROUND THE BUILDINGS AND TAKE DOWN A TREE OR TWO THAT WAS LEANING TOO MUCH ...ETC...   WHY DID HE SHOW??? GOLDIE !! AND THEN WHO WOULD  HAVE THOUGHT ANYONE WOULD HAVE SENT A PALLET OF BOTTLED WATER-- A WHOLE PALLET. !!  BUT IT IS SITTING IN THE G TENT AWAITING MOVING TO THE CONTAINER WHICH HOLDS THE DOG FOOD... JUST BECAUS E OF THESE 2 THINGS.... I THINK I WILL ORDER 300 BALES OF HAY-- OR WHATEVER WILL FIT IN THE LOFT... ABND STOCK UP ON GRAIN TOO... JUST IN CASE.. PLUS THERE IS NO REASON NOT TO...  BUY A COUPLE CONTAINERS ... BLUE AND RED FOR FUEL MIGHT NOT HURT EITHER..  BE SURE THE PROPANE TANKS ARE TOPPED (2 INSTANT ON GENERATORS )  AND HOW TO SHUT THEM OFF AND ON IN CASE WE REALLY NEED TO CONSERVE...  I SHOUOLD KNOW ANYWAY... LAZY IS WHY I HAVE NOT LEARNED... A FEW  50# BAGS OF RICE AND WE WILL BE AS READY AS WE CAN... OH NO... IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.. I THOUGHT  MATCHES... THE STRIKE KIND... YESTERDAY I FINALLY NOTICED THE SLIT IN THE  CAR DASHBOARD WHICH HOLDS A CD-- SO I HAVE MUSIC I LIKE--- AND THE FIRST THING THAT CAME ON WAS "WINDMILLS OF YOUR MIND"   AND BOY DID THAT DESCRIBE THE  CURRENT  CRAZY ACRES-  SO ONCE IN THE HOUSE  I GOOGLED IT AND LISTENED TO IT SEVERAL MORE TIMES  "LIKE A SNOWBALL DOWN A MOUNTAIN - OR A CARNIVAL BALLOON- OR A CAROUSEL THAT 'S TURNING RUNNING RINGS AROUND THE MOON..." THERE WAS SOOOO MUCH-- HAS TO BE GOLDIE AGAIN   " LIKE A TUNNEL THAT YOU FOLLOW TO A TUNNEL OF IT'S OWN DOWN A CAVERN TO A HOLLOW WHERE THE SUN HAS NEVER SHOWN. "  ****  SO  ON WE GO **** Hi Linda! We gave away all our poker chips to the students at my son's college. My son can't drive so 3 days a week we're there. If a student shows what I think is real interest I give them a chip and explain all about SDP including the website. I've saved one chip for hand dexterity exercise but I've given the rest away. Is there any way you could send me some more? Btw, Wrinkle is a HUGE hit at the college! She is constantly praised on her behavior, manners and her obvious training. She's received compliments from not only the students but also the security staff and faculty. She's a wonderful ambassador for SDP, and I've used her as a great way to educate and inform everyone at the college about the good works of SDP. All this has only been possible due to the gift Carlene, the trainers, the workers, and the volunteers at SDP have given me. Thank you all for giving me my life back! mOm is still standing -- this is a good thing.. if we can just make it to the 5 days of meds, she will stand a much better chance of survival ..she eas slightly better when bryan checkeD her YESTERDAY...so at least we are going in the right direction... i even bought her some shreaded carrots-- but she does not know what they are-- nor grass-- she is eating hay . and it is very good "race horse" hay.---and some grain.  THE  grain being purina's omelene #200  which is what i had on hand for mo....and she is eating it... i went and got some highER powered feed... and she wouldn't touch it-- which made it the lowest powered kind...   i never went  and checked the exact  ingredients of omelene before -- but i did this time... and it was totally boring... except----are you ready????   TODAY'S FYI------ IN THE LIST OF HOW MUCH TO FEED ---  IT IS BASED ON ENERGY NEEDED AND EXPENDED....--- A BREEDING STALLION SHOULD GET 4 QUARTS-- AND A MOTHER 7.5 QUARTS....OK........NOW HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE WORKING MOTHER--- OR MORE COMMONLY .. ALSO JUST ABOUT AN HOUR BEFORE IRMA HIT US FULL FORCE THE WATER IN THE TOILETS STARTED SWIRLING, IT WAS THE STRANGEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN  ! *** OK ALL YOU SCIENTISTS.... DID THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THE LOWERING OF ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE.. AND TEH SIPHONING OF THE WATER IN THE TOILETS??? ***** Today was the first day of school for all of us!!  Eve woke up pain free so all is good from last nights fall! She even said I think I was more scared that there would be a broken bone than felt the pain of one! So that's good that once she settles down that she can articulate the difference.  Eve said school was great! And that she felt like she was only there for 30 min rather than several hours. Finn was good except for not wanting to lay down during outside lunch.
