ok... just plain scrap yesterday
here is yesterday's dd i nevr got to send..
NOTHING-- NOEL HAS SLEPT THRU THE NIGHT... DR. GEORGE HAS BEEN WATCHING US LONG DISTANCE.. AND HE WILL MEET US AT THE HOSPITAL AT 8AM. FOR A C- SECTION. AND I THINK A SPAY AT THE SAME TIME?
GEORGE IS A GREAT BELIEVER IN GIVING MOMMY NATURE A CHANCE TO SOLVE IT.... SO WE ARE PICKING THE PATH BETWEEN 2 EVILS..
I THINK SPAYING HER IS TH E BEST IDEA I HAVE HAD LATELY !! WE DON'T NEED TO GO THRU THIS AGAIN... SHE HAS HAD SOME LOVELY PUPS-- 4--3--1 AND WHATEVER TODAY.. TIME FOR THE YOUNGER GALS TO TAKE OVER... MARIAH COMES TO MIND.. .
IT IS ALONG ABOUT NOW THAT I WISH WE HAD A NEAL?/-- NICE BLACK STUD FROM EUROPEAN
BLOODLINES.. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO... BUT WE CAN MAKE ALL THE PLANS WE WANT BUT WE DON'T HAVE THE FINAL WORD...
WE WILL LEAVE EARLY FOR GEORGES.. WHICH MEANS PACKING MY CAR WITH SUPPLIES IN CASE SHE STARTS IN DELIVERING ON THE WAY.. SHE DID THAT ONCE BEFORE-- SHE HAD MAGNUS IN FRONT OF STAPLES OFFICE SUPPLY JUST AFTER LEAVING TEH VET HOSPITAL WHERE GEROGE HAD SAID "GIVE HER MORE TIME".
******
SO BACK TO BLOODLINES--- BENTLEY IS LOVELY-- BUT WE ARE GETTING TOO MANY RELATED TO HIM... AND DENMARK'S WALTER AND SCARLOTT...
*****************************
MONDAY MORNING--- ( AND PLEASE NO MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACKS... WE HAD THE BEST TEAM GOING... BOTH VERY EDUCATED AND VERY INVENTIVE)
TO START WITH THE END OF THE STORY----- WE NOW HAVE 5 PUPS... 4 VERY NORMAL...ONE DOUBTFUL STRUGGLING WITH BASIC INSTINCT OF NURSING... AND SEIZURES..
I THINK I KNOW WHY... JUST MY IDEA-- WITH NO KNOWN MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE....
THE SEQUENCE----- AS NOEL WENT INTO LABOR SHE HAD ONE PUP.. WHO ARRIVED DOA... THEN NOTHING FOR LONG TINE 8?HOURS? WHEN SHE PRODUCED A TYPICAL 2 INCH DIAMETER BUBBLE.. WHICH RUPTURE AND IS USUALLY FOLLOWED BY A PUPPY.. BUT WAS NOT...- 2 HOURS LATER ANOTHER BUBBLE---NO PUP... THIS WAS BETWEEN 2AM AND 3AM... SAT NIGHT. GEORGE WAS AWARE- AND WATCHING ONLINE.. HE/WE FIGURED TO GO AND DO A C- SECTION AT 8AM WHEN HIS CREW ARIVED EVEN IF IT WAS SUNDAY MORNING.- NO WAY COULD HE HAVE DONE THIS ALONE- WE WOULD HAVE LOST NOEL AND THE PUPS. THE CHOICES WE HAD WERE ALL BAD ONES.
MEG AND I PACKED UP AND WENT AT 7:57AM -- EXPECTING THE WORST WITH THOSE BROKEN BUBBLES
BUT THE ULTRASOUND SHOWED AT LEAST ONE BEATING HEART..WEIGH HER, GET HER MEDICAGTED AND BASH ON... I DID TAKE SOME PICTURES IF I CAN FIND MY PHONE...(I WILL T RY AND GET SOMEONE TO PUT THEM ON FACEBOOK LATER)- THE FIRST OUT WAS ANOTHER DOA- THEN THE NEXT 5 IN RAPID SUCCESSION-- WE WERE ALL SWINGING PUPS ( TO DRAIN THE NOSTRILS) AND RUBBING FRANTICALLY AND YOU COULD HEAR ONE PUP AFTER ANOTHER BEGN YELLING-- WE HAD ONE- THAT WAS ?FLACID? NO MOVEMENT.. AND I SAT IT ON THE TOWEL ON THE TABLE NEXT TO ME-- WHE IT TOO YELLED FOR ATTENTION -- WE ALL JUMPED AND RUBBED 2 PUPS AT ONCE SPREADING OUT THE ATTENTION - AND TRYING TO GET THAT ONE PUP IN BETTER SHAPE... AND IT STARTED TO MOVE AND YELL-- THE OTHER 4 LOOKED AND ACTED PERFECT;Y NORMAL
IN RETROSPECT... THAT HAS TO BE THE OTHER ONE WHO'S PROTECTIVE BUBBLE RUPTURED EARLY.
AND IT NEEDED ALOT OF HELP WITH THE BASICS... WHICH AS A 5 MINUTE OLD PUP WAS MOVING.. LATER ON THE FLOOR... AFTER WASHING OFF ALL THE BETADINE OR WHATEVER FROM NOEL'S NIPPLES, THE 4 NURSED WELL.. AND THE ONE JUST DID NOT GET THE HANG OF IT. WE IMPROVISED GETTING SOME MILK INTO HER -- THE FIRST 24 HOUR MILK IS SO IMPORTANT- AND HOME WE CAME.
WHERE GRACE SAT AND DEALT WITH THE ONE PUP MOST OF THE DAY... GRACE COUDL GET 2CC'S OF THE CRITICAL MILK --OUT OF NOEL BETTER THAN ANYONE. AND THE PUP APPARENTLY HAS A SEIZURE PROBLEM...- NOW I AM TOLD SHE DID GET HER MOUTH ON A NIPPLE OVERNIGHT AND NURSED FOR A MINUTE-- THIS WOULD BE WONDERFUL NEWS... AS MY NEXT PLAN TODAY WAS TO PUT SOME MILK, AND MY CLEAN LITTLE FINGER IN A NIPPLE AND SEE IF I CAH ENCOURAGE HER TO NURSE NORMALLY.. IF SHE HAS STARTED ON HER OWN, I WILL NOT GET INVOLVED... IT IS A VERY DELICATE BALANCE AS GEORGE OFTEN SAYS "GIVE MOTHER NATURE A CHANCE. AND TEH BEST WE CAN DO IS TO CLEAR AWAY THE OTHER 4 AND LET THIS PUP HAVE A NIPPLE ALL TO HERSELF...
THE REST OF THE PROBLEM IS TO CONVINCE NOEL THAT WE WILL GIVE HER STEAK AND EGGS IN BED FOR BREAKFAST, BUT SHE MUST MAKE SOME ATTEMPT TO LICK AND CLEAN UP THESE PUPS..
NOW JUST TO GIVE YOU THE COMPLETE DETAILS--- FROM A NON MEDICAL POV.
I FEEL I MUST GIVE YOU THE " VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED FOR THE CONTENTS OF THIS DD)
SINCE WE WERE SPAYING HER- SPEED AT GETTING THOSE PUPS OUT WAS MORE CRITICAL THAN .. ALOT OF OTHER THINGS....SO THERE WAS NO NEED OT SEW UP ALL THAT UTERUS-- JUST DETACH IT FROM NOEL AND UNCEREMONIOUSLY DROP IT IN THE BUCKET AT GEORGE'S FEET... GEORGE'S FEET WERE ALREADY ABOUT ½ INCH DEEP IN THE NORMAL FLUIDS AND STUFF THAT COMES WITH PUPS... BUT WHEN HE DROPPED THAT UTERUS IN THAT BUCKET , I DID A DOUBLE TAKE.. THE BUCKET WAS A STAINLESS STEEL- 5 GALLON SIZE AND IT WAS ABOUT ⅔'S FULL OF STUFF THAT JUST CAME OUT OF NOEL.... WHAT EVER IT WAS... THERE WAS ALOT OF IT-- ALL RED--- I DON'T THINK THERE WAS ANY ABNORMAL AMT OF BLEEDING IT WAS JUST THAT SHE WAS SO HUGE.. AND THAT UTEROUS HAD JUST HELD 7 PUPS IN A TUBES ABOUT 4" IN DIAMETER... IF EACH PUP WAS COMPRESSD INTO 4 INCHES THIS SLIPPERY DRIPPING MESS HIT THAT BUCKET WITH A FRRRRUUUUMMMP.
AND HE SEWED HER UP AND WE WENT HOME.
HE HAS A WONDERFULLY TALENTED AND ORGANIZED CREW--- THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.. AND THEN THERE WAS MEG AND ME. MEG HAD THROWN A COUPLE TOWELS IN THE CLOTHES BASKET
WHAT AN UNDERSTATEMENT THAT WAS !! THE ONLY THING I COULD IMPROVE ON WAS THE SIZE OF TEH SPOTLESSLY CLEAN TOWELS THEY HAD... AS THOSE PUPS CAME OUT SO QUICKLY WE HAD FULL SIZE TOWELS ALL OVER MIXED WITH PUSP AND AFTERBIRTH AND ALL MANNER O F GOODIES- AT ONE POINT I LOST TRACK AND CHECKED TO BE SURE THERE WAS NOT A PUP IN THA PILE OF TOWELS AT MY FEET..( THERE WAS NOT.) WASH CLOTH WOULD NOT HAVE WORKED - BUT A BIG SUPPLY OF HAND TOWELS WOULD HAVE.. I MAY TAKE SOME OF OURS DOWN AND SEE IF HE LIKES THOSE.
THAT IS AS FAR AS WE HAVE GONE.

Good Morning Carlene,
Just thought I'd send you an update on Dash and I's latest adventure. Dash and I just recently were invited to be a featured speaker for the New York State Dept. of Criminal Justice and their T.R.A.U.M.A. program. This program is geared toward PTSD awareness and suicide prevention for Veterans , Law Enforcement , and First responders.
Our speech lasted about an hour and a half and I told my life story with the help of Dash at my side. I can't thank you guys enough for the support I have received and for the great gift of my (our) lovely Dash. Without her this would not have been possible for me and we made a very lasting impression on those who attended this course.
This is only the beginning of great things to come for us as we have been offered a contract to speak all over New York State and possibly taking it nation wide. With your permission I would feel honored if I could use SDP in my presentation in my speech as well as on my power point with the SDP logo.
Again I thank you very much and am very humbled by your great organization and all your volunteers.
Scott and Dash
P.S. I'm enclosing a photo of Dash and I that was taken right before our speech.

From Team Hunter and Wendy:
We arrived home safe and sound last night after an amazing time in DC. We want to thank all the people that made it possible, including Amy and all the @BostonChildren'sHospital staff who attended, and @childrenshospitals, as well as our family who stayed with our other dogs. We were the 1st representatives with a service dog, and we think it went pretty well! Wendy was not a fan of the DC red squirrels!
We had a few first ourselves on the trip: Wendy's first time on a plane, first time in DC, first experience with Uber to name a few. We even flew back with another service dog across from us!
We meet with all the Maine senators and representatives to talk about INS and we even were able to sit in seats on the House floor! We sqeeuzed in as much as we could see! We met amazing kids and their families and hopefully answered lots of questions about Wendy! Everyone is tired,
